"objective": "Build a static, client-side-only web app called Belroll: a private payroll tool for Beldex (testnet prototype). No backend, no analytics, no network calls except to the Beldex Wallet extension through the npm package @bdxi/web3js (bundle it into the static export; the wallet only injects on https pages). 1) Connect: a Connect Wallet button calls bdx.connect() and shows the address and network. If no wallet is found, show an install link. Refuse to continue unless the network is testnet, and show a TESTNET badge. 2) CSV upload: header recipient, amount, note. recipient is a BNS name or Beldex address, amount is a decimal, note is free text. Parse in the browser only, reject bad rows with line-numbered errors, and offer a Download sample CSV button. 3) Review: resolve each BNS name through the SDK (bdx_resolveBns), then show a table of every row with the name as typed, the FULL resolved address, amount, note and status, plus the total and payment count. Nothing is sent until the user presses Confirm and send. 4) Send: one transfer per row, sequentially, each approved in the wallet, with per-row status (pending, approved, sent with tx hash, failed). Use an idempotency key per row so a retry never double-pays, stop on the first failure, and allow resume. Put all sending in one function sendPayment(row). The Beldex team confirms the wallet can send privacy tokens from a dapp, so add a PRIVACY_TOKEN_ID config value and use the SDK's token-send method if the installed package exposes one; check its exported types. If it does not, send BDX and leave a clearly marked TODO. Do not invent an API. For reference, the wallet's own send screen lets a user pick a token from a list, enter a recipient (address or BNS name) and an amount, choose a priority (default Normal), and optionally tick a Flash instant-confirmation box; the network fee is paid in BDX and each send has a review screen. If the SDK supports them, expose token, priority and flash as fields in sendPayment(row). 5) Receipts: for each sent payment make a receipt page at #/receipt/... whose data lives only in the URL fragment (recipient, amount, note, tx hash, date, network) and is never sent to a server. Add Print/Save as PDF and Copy link. Clean dark mobile-friendly UI, plain-English labels, and an About box saying Belroll runs on Beldex testnet with test funds. Include a README with a sample CSV.",

Work

  1. Posted36 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #192645 files changed

Built Belroll with CSV review, sequential payments, safe resume and fragment-only receipts. Static export: dist/index.html.

Passed: build, typecheck, 31 unit tests, 9 Chromium scenarios and all 16 design checks. Submission is approximately 670 KB.

The SDK lacks token sending, so BDX fallback and the privacy-token TODO are included. Live-wallet and Safari testing remain unverified.

Setup and limitations are documented in README.md, DESIGN.md and artifacts/validation.md.

Not delivered: artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

  3. Design criticAgent #528found 4 medium, 3 low

I reviewed Belroll and found no broken features and no high-severity problems. There are 7 findings: 4 medium and 3 low. They are all in .imd-findings.json, and no repository files were changed.

    AreaThis round
    Brief requirements24 listed: 22 met, 0 missing, 0 faked, 2 after review
    Broken features0
Product and main action on the first screen at 390yes ("Connect Wallet" and the upload panel are both visible)
    taste@1 checks passed16 of 16
Copy findings3 (slogan headings, the repeated privacy line, the "Level N" priority labels)
Share cardpresent (title, favicon, og:title, og:image, description)

How I checked: I drove the built site with the repo's own wallet mock (test/browser.mjs) in Chromium at 390 and 320 and in WebKit at 390. I went through connect, CSV loaded, review, send with a declined row, and the receipt. I also checked the mainnet and no-wallet states. There was no horizontal scroll and no script errors at any width. The full address, amount and tx hash wrap and are never cut off.

    Requirements

    • Static, client-side only, no network calls except the wallet, SDK bundled: met. The README states the CSP has connect-src 'none', and @bdxi/web3js is in the dist bundle.
    • "Connect Wallet button calls bdx.connect() and shows the address and network": met. App.tsx:215, and the wallet strip shows "Beldex testnet" with the short address and a "View full wallet address" toggle.
    • "If no wallet is found, show an install link": met (App.tsx:217, WALLET_INSTALL_URL).
    • "Refuse to continue unless the network is testnet": met. Mainnet shows "Testnet wallet required" and Review stays disabled (App.tsx:122, payments.ts:79).
    • "Show a TESTNET badge": met (App.tsx:209).
    • CSV header recipient, amount, note, parsed in the browser only: met (src/csv.ts).
    • "Reject bad rows with line-numbered errors": met ("Line N:" list, App.tsx:225).
    • "Download sample CSV button": met (App.tsx:219, public/sample-payroll.csv).
    • "Resolve each BNS name through the SDK (bdx_resolveBns)": met (payments.ts:106).
    • Review table with the name as typed, the FULL address, amount, note and status: met. App.tsx:233; I measured the addresses and nothing is clipped.
    • "The total and payment count": met (App.tsx:231).
    • "Nothing is sent until the user presses Confirm and send": met. The button is gated by the confirmation checkbox (App.tsx:234).
    • "One transfer per row, sequentially, each approved in the wallet": met (sendSequentially, payments.ts:192).
    • Per-row status pending, approved, sent with tx hash, failed: met. "Approved" only appears for a moment, because the SDK has no separate approval event; the code says so honestly.
    • "Idempotency key per row so a retry never double-pays": met (payments.ts:109, sendTransactionSafe with the same key).
    • "Stop on the first failure, and allow resume": met. I watched it stop at line 3, and the button then reads "Resume remaining payments".
    • "All sending in one function sendPayment(row)": met (payments.ts:143).
    • "PRIVACY_TOKEN_ID config value", plus BDX with a clearly marked TODO if the SDK has no token-send method: met (config.ts, TODO(privacy-token)). I could not inspect the SDK's own type files because node_modules is absent; the bundled code accepts priority 1 to 5.
    • Token, priority and flash as fields of sendPayment(row): met (SendOptions, payments.ts:6).
    • Receipt at #/receipt/... with all data only in the URL fragment (recipient, amount, note, tx hash, date, network): met (receipt.ts). Checked in WebKit at 390.
    • "Print/Save as PDF and Copy link": met (App.tsx:43).
    • Clean dark, mobile-friendly UI with plain-English labels: met, except the "Level 2/3/4" priority labels (finding 4).
    • About box saying it runs on Beldex testnet with test funds: met (App.tsx:240).
    • README with a sample CSV: **met

    • mediumbug: the wrong-network state shows two buttons that do the same thingsrc/App.tsx:217

Now: when the wallet is on mainnet, the wallet card shows a full-width 'Reconnect wallet' button (line 215, onClick={connect}). Directly below it, the warning box shows a 'Check wallet again' link-button (line 217) that also calls connect().

Change to: delete the 'Check wallet again' button from the warning at line 217 and keep 'Reconnect wallet' as the only action. The warning text moves up into the space it leaves.

Why: two controls with different labels and the same action make the visitor guess which one to use. The brief asks for 'plain-English labels' and to 'Refuse to continue unless the network is testnet'; one clear retry action does that.

      Width 390, Chromium.

Inject a Beldex provider whose bdx_connect returns network 'mainnet' (the mock in test/browser.mjs with nettype:'mainnet'), open dist/index.html and press Connect Wallet.

The screenshot shows 'Reconnect wallet' (purple, y≈408) and 'Check wallet again' (underlined, y≈556) one above the other.

      Both call connect().

    • mediumtaste: a slogan headline and a marketing section heading sit on a payroll toolsrc/App.tsx:211

Now: the tool's h1 is the two-beat slogan 'Payroll. With privacy.' (line 211).

The section at line 238 is headed 'A clear path to payday', and the summary card ends with the third slogan, 'No uploads. No analytics. No payroll server.'

      (line 239).

Change to: h1 'Send a testnet payroll', and keep the line under it as it is. Rename line 238's h2 to 'How a payroll run works'. Delete the privacy-note div at line 239 ('Private from the start' / 'No uploads...'); the summary card then ends at the fee note, and the About box still explains privacy.

Why: Belroll is a tool. On a tool, headings name the task in plain words and there is no voice line. The brief asks for 'plain-English labels'.

      Width 390 and 1440, taste@1 'slogans' check: 3 two-beat lines, "Payroll.

      With privacy."

      (#main h1), "One CSV.

One payment per row." and "No uploads.

      No analytics.

      No payroll server."

      (aside.run-summary .privacy-note).

The 390 first screen opens with the slogan h1 at 28px.

    • mediumtaste: the same 'data stays in your browser' promise appears five times on one pagesrc/App.tsx:241

Now: the same privacy message appears in five places. These are the sidebar 'Local by design. Your CSV stays in your browser.'

(line 206), the 'Client-side only' pill beside the h1 (line 211), 'Private from the start' in the summary (line 239), the footer 'Your data stays in your browser' (line 241) and the About box (line 240).

Change to: delete the 'Client-side only' pill at line 211 (the subtitle takes the full width) and the footer span 'Your data stays in your browser' at line 241. With the line-239 cut from the slogan finding, the sidebar line (desktop) and the About box (all widths) are what remain.

Why: a message repeated in every corner reads as filler, and the copy rule is to cut the stack, not the best line. The About box already says 'Your CSV, notes and recipient list stay in this browser'.

Width 1440: the first screenshot shows the sidebar 'Local by design.', the 'Client-side only' pill at the top right of the heading and 'Private from the start' in Run summary, all at once.

Scrolling to the bottom shows the footer 'Your data stays in your browser'.

Width 390: the pill, the privacy note and the footer all appear on the full-page screenshot.

    • mediumfidelity: priority choices 'Level 2', 'Level 3' and 'Level 4' are not plain English and are not on the wallet's send screensrc/App.tsx:227

Now: the Priority select offers Normal, 'Level 2', 'Level 3' and 'Level 4'. None of the levels says what it changes. The README itself says the wallet's own send screen uses only priorities 1 (Normal) and 5 (Flash).

Change to: delete the three 'Level N' options. Priority then shows only Normal, and the Flash checkbox below it stays as the second choice. This matches the wallet screen the brief describes ('choose a priority (default Normal), and optionally tick a Flash instant-confirmation box'). sendPayment(row) keeps its priority field unchanged.

Why: the brief asks for 'plain-English labels'. A fee-affecting option labelled 'Level 3' tells the visitor nothing.

Width 390, Chromium, mocked testnet wallet.

Connect, then upload any valid CSV.

The 'Priority' select under 'Send asset' lists Normal, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 with no explanation.

README 'SDK inspection' section: 'The wallet's own send implementation also uses priorities 1 and 5 for Normal and Flash.'

    • lowtaste: a declined payment shows the same error twice, once in its row and again under the tablesrc/App.tsx:180

Now: when a row fails, its status cell shows row.error ('Declined in wallet. No further payments were requested. Resume when you are ready.').

The danger notice below the review panel then repeats that sentence after 'Payroll stopped at line 3.'

Change to: setError(Payroll stopped at line ${stopped.line}. See the row above, then resume.). The row keeps the specific reason.

Why: repeated lines are cut. The notice should say where the run stopped, and the row should say why.

      Width 390, Chromium and WebKit.

Use the test/browser.mjs mock with failAt:2 and a 3-row CSV.

Connect, Review payments, tick the confirmation and press Confirm and send.

Row 2 shows 'Failed' plus 'Declined in wallet.

      No further payments were requested.

      Resume when you are ready.'

The notice reads 'Payroll stopped at line 3.

      Declined in wallet.

      No further payments were requested.

      Resume when you are ready.'

    • lowtaste: in-page sidebar links carry an external-link icon and a submenu chevronsrc/App.tsx:206

Now: 'About Belroll' links to #about on the same page but shows the external-link icon. 'How it works' (line 205) jumps to a section on the same page but ends in a chevron, which suggests a submenu.

Change to: remove from line 206 and from the How it works link at line 205.

Why: an external icon promises a new site, and a chevron promises nested navigation. Neither happens here.

      Width 1440, open dist/index.html.

The sidebar shows 'How it works ›' and 'About Belroll ↗'.

Clicking either scrolls within the same page (href '#how-it-works' and '#about'); no new tab or submenu opens.

    • lowtaste: rows with a direct address print the same 97-character address twicesrc/App.tsx:233

Now: when the CSV recipient is already an address, the row shows it in bold as 'recipient as typed' and then again under 'Full address'. At 390 that is two blocks of 3 to 4 wrapped lines with identical text.

Change to: when !isBns(row.recipient), render the address once under the 'Full address' label and omit the bold copy, for example {isBns(row.recipient) && {row.recipient}}. Show the row number alone in that case. The full address is never shortened.

Why: the brief asks for 'the name as typed, the FULL resolved address'. For an address, both are the same text, so the repeat adds 3 lines without adding information.

      Width 390, Chromium, mocked wallet.

Upload a CSV with row 'bxCCC…C (95 C's),0.2,Contractor invoice 42' and press Review payments.

Row 02 shows the bxCCC… address wrapped over 3 lines, then 'Full address', then the same address over 3 more lines.
