/// DEPTH_BPS of either pair's reserves (and at most MAX_PER_BURN).
Line 173 sets usdcIn = balance whenever balance <= depth and the remainder is below THRESHOLD; depth is not capped by MAX_PER_BURN, so with deep pools one call spends up to 1,004.999999 USDC. That stays within the depth bound, so the impact bound holds, but the NatSpec here ('and at most MAX_PER_BURN'), the MAX_PER_BURN comment at line 41, the _mulQ112 comment at line 223 and README.md:9 ('spends up to $1,000 per call') are wrong.
Reported by audit_permissions and audit_math; merged.
Fix: document the bound as MAX_PER_BURN + THRESHOLD (deep pools) or apply the dust rule only when balance <= MAX_PER_BURN + THRESHOLD - 1, and state it.
Base fork (BASE_RPC): deal 1,004e6 USDC to the burner, warp 31 min, buyAndBurn().
The Burned event reports usdcIn = 1,004,000,000 > MAX_PER_BURN = 1,000,000,000 and the balance is 0.
The repository's own test_DustRemainderIsSpent does exactly this and passes (run on 2026-10-15, block ~52645423).
5.infoREADME understates the worst accepted loss: fees and the trade's own impact stack on the 3% tolerance (about 3.9% at $1,000, up to ~4.6% at the depth bound)README.md:30
most about 3% to manipulation. Moving these pools by 3% costs far more in fees than 3% of a burn of at most $1,000.
The check at src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:99 compares marginal prices only. The 0.3% fee of each hop and the trade's own impact (up to 0.5% of the input reserve on each hop) come on top of the 3% tolerance, so a burn whose spot sits at the edge of tolerance realizes about 3.9% less IMD than the TWAP at $1,000 into 165 WETH, and about 4.6% at the full depth bound on both hops. The NatSpec at lines 23-27 states this correctly; the README's trust section is what a reader relies on.
Fix: say 'about 3% plus fees and impact, at most about 4.6%'.
6.infoTrust assumptions verified on Base; Circle's USDC pause/upgrade power is not listed next to the blacklistREADME.md:28
- **Circle** can blacklist this contract on USDC, with the same effect as a blacklist above.
Fix (5) checked against Base mainnet on 2026-10-15: Fren Pet's blacklist is not renounced (blacklistRenounced() = false); its uniswapV2Pair() is 0x29b3a7869E3662D00aaBD89A8ee74B2F703a6a66, not the pair this contract uses, so 0xDE66...7337 can be blacklisted as the README says; buyTotalFees() = 4 and the setter caps at 5; 0x...dEaD is excluded from fees and from maxTransactionAmount; the pair is registered as an AMM pair. The documentation is accurate for the Fren Pet owner.
One omission on the Circle side: FiatToken on Base is pausable (pauser() = 0xD3571B3bc51CECFf49194AD67aFFFC648d5e07b4, paused() = false today) and upgradeable; a pause stops USDC.transfer at src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:103 exactly like a blacklist, for its duration. Add 'pause or upgrade' next to 'blacklist' on this line. No code change.

Info: one burn can spend more than
MAX_PER_BURN,src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:27. The remainder rule lets a single burn spend up to $1,004.999999. That stays within the depth bound, but it contradicts the NatSpec, the constant's comment and the README ("up to $1,000 per call"). The existing testtest_DustRemainderIsSpentshows this.
Checked, nothing reported
- Fix 1 (marginal price vs TWAP): the math is correct, including wrap-around and the cumulative price brought up to the current block. Moving the price earlier in the same block doesn't change the TWAP. I found no overflow or harmful rounding at these sizes, either in the spot and TWAP quotes or in the depth cap.
- 3% sandwich: I tried it on the fork and it isn't profitable. Fren Pet's own fee on selling makes unwinding the IMD side fail. On the USDC/WETH side, pool fees (about $40) are larger than the most a $1,000 burn can lose (about $30). So the README's trust claim holds.
- Fix 2 (depth cap): it is correct and the remainder rule never goes past it. Changing the reserves can only shrink a burn, never push it past $1,000.
- How funds can leave: USDC only goes to the USDC/WETH pair and IMD only to 0x…dEaD. The swaps have no callbacks, and the contract rejects ETH.
- Fix 5: the trust assumptions are documented as stated.

Fix (4) incomplete: when the depth cap binds, a remainder below THRESHOLD is strandedsrc/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:173
The remainder rule only applies when balance <= depth, which means only when MAX_PER_BURN is the binding cap. In the thin-pool case that fix (2) targets, depth < MAX_PER_BURN. If the balance is depth + r with 0 < r < THRESHOLD, the burn spends exactly depth and leaves r.
The next buyAndBurn() then reverts BelowThreshold(r), and the USDC stays idle until more USDC arrives. The amount is small (< $5 per occurrence), but it is the case finding 6 was meant to close. Fix, keeping the depth bound: when the cap binds and balance - cap < THRESHOLD, spend balance - THRESHOLD instead (if that is > 0), so exactly THRESHOLD is left and can be burned in the next window.
proof · a Foundry test the fix has to passRemainder rule spends more than MAX_PER_BURN, contradicting the NatSpec boundsrc/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:27
Line 173 sets usdcIn = balance whenever balance <= depth and the remainder is below THRESHOLD. Since depth is not capped by MAX_PER_BURN, one burn can spend up to MAX_PER_BURN + THRESHOLD - 1 = 1,004.999999 USDC. That is still within the depth bound, so the impact claim holds.
But the NatSpec ('at most MAX_PER_BURN'), the constant's comment and the README ('spends up to $1,000 per call') are wrong. The _mulQ112 comment 'amounts are capped by MAX_PER_BURN' is also slightly off, though it cannot overflow at these sizes.
Fix: document the bound as MAX_PER_BURN + THRESHOLD, or apply the dust rule only when balance <= MAX_PER_BURN + THRESHOLD - 1 and depth allows it (the current behaviour), and state it.
Base fork: deal 1,004e6 USDC to the burner, warp 31 min, call buyAndBurn(). The Burned event reports usdcIn = 1,004,000,000 > MAX_PER_BURN = 1,000,000,000. test_DustRemainderIsSpent shows the same thing and passes.

Audit flowAgent #92found 2 low
I found two low-severity issues in
src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol. Neither loses funds, and there is nothing critical, high or medium. Both are in.imd-findings.json, each with its own Foundry test. Both tests fail on the code as it is now, and both pass on a patched copy kept outside the repository. No tracked files were changed. The existing tests pass against a Base fork (16 of 16). I also read the live state on Base: the USDC/WETH pair holds about 438k USDC and 179.7 WETH, and the WETH/Fren Pet pair holds about 165.6 WETH and 66k FP.

Low:
poke()can still delay a burn that would succeed (src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:129). Fix (3) only blockspoke()when a burn would pass at the reserves of that exact moment, and those can be moved inside one transaction. Once the last observation is more than 6 hours old, anyone can do this in one transaction:- buy about 7,000 USDC of WETH so the price is more than 3% off, which makes
poke()pass; - call
poke(); - sell the WETH back.
The pools end where they started, but the burn now reverts
WindowTooShort(0)for 30 minutes. That costs the attacker about $41 per 30-minute delay, at most once per 6 hours. Suggested fix: while the balance is at leastTHRESHOLD, havepoke()revert if either pair traded in the current block. With that fix, the existing testtest_PokeRestartsTheWindowAfterAPriceMovewould need to advance one block between the pump and thepoke(). - buy about 7,000 USDC of WETH so the price is more than 3% off, which makes
-
Low: dust is stranded when the depth cap is what limits the burn (
src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:173). Fix (4) only spends the remainder when the $1,000 cap was the limit. In a thin pool (the setup intest/ThinPoolLock.t.sol), a balance of the depth cap plus 3 USDC burns the cap and leaves 3 USDC. Every later burn then revertsBelowThreshold(3000000)until more USDC arrives, and with no more payouts up to $4.999999 stays locked. Suggested fix: when the depth cap applies, spendbalance - THRESHOLDso exactly $5 is left for the next burn.
What else I checked
- Marginal price check: the TWAP math, wrap-around and the cumulative price brought up to the current block all match Uniswap's oracle library. Same-block trades can't move the observation. The rounding in both quotes is negligible, and nothing overflows at realistic prices.
- Depth cap: the rounding is fine. Adding liquidity only makes a burn larger with less price impact.
- Remainder rule: it never goes over the depth bound. It can go over
MAX_PER_BURNby up to $4.999999, which the tests treat as intended. - Sandwich economics: at current reserves, moving the USDC/WETH pair 3% costs about $39, more than the roughly $30 to be had from a $1,000 burn. The Fren Pet pair also charges 4% on each buy and sell. So the README's claim holds today, but it breaks even if the USDC/WETH pair falls below about $333k of USDC.
- Exits: USDC and IMD can leave only through
buyAndBurn()andburnHeld(). There are no callbacks, the addresses are constants, and the contract rejects ETH. - Trust assumptions (fix 5): the Fren Pet owner can't push the buy or sell fee above 5% (both setters revert above that). Its size limits are far above a burn's size. I also checked one more owner power, marking 0x…dEaD as a trading pair and turning on Fren Pet's automatic swap, on the fork: burns still worked, so I didn't report it.
I couldn't run Slither or a long fuzzing campaign here.

The re-audit is complete and
.imd-findings.jsonholds three substantiated findings. No high or critical defect was found.Scope covered: all of
src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol, the README, both test files, and the five fixes from job de9e10c6, checked against the Math Precision, Boundary and Numerical Gap guides. Verification ran on a live Base fork at block 52644927 plus mock-pair fuzzing. The five fixes are correct
- Marginal-price TWAP check (line 99): the direction is right, spot and TWAP both floor at the same points, and no intermediate can overflow with the real reserve ranges. The cumulative-price wrap-around was tested explicitly and the TWAP stays exact across it.
- Depth cap: a 2000-run fuzz over arbitrary reserves and balances confirmed that USDC spent never exceeds 0.5% of the USDC reserve and that the WETH reaching pair B never exceeds 0.5% of its WETH reserve, even with floor rounding in
depthB. - poke() parity: its condition is the exact complement of the burn's price check in the same block, so it cannot delay a burn that would succeed.
- Remainder rule: never exceeds the depth bound. It exceeds MAX_PER_BURN by under $5, as intended.
- Trust assumptions: Fren Pet's blacklist guard protects a different pair (0x29b3…) from the one this contract uses, so the documented ability to blacklist pair B is real. The 5% fee cap, the hard-coded limit exemption for transfers to 0xdEaD, and the permanently cleared migration flag all match the README.
Findings
- Low, line 173: a remainder below $5 left by a depth-capped burn is stranded until the next payout, because the rule only fires when the whole balance fits under the depth bound. Concrete states: the thin mock pool with a $204 balance leaves $4.17, and depth $1003 with balance $1004 leaves $4. A fix that lets a leftover be burnable below the threshold is proposed.
- Info, README line 29: the README says a burn spends up to $1,000 and loses at most about 3%. Actual values are up to $1,004.999999 and about 3.9% at the tolerance edge at $1,000, up to about 4.6% at the full depth bound, since fees and impact stack on the 3% marginal tolerance. The NatSpec states this correctly.
- Info, README line 28: Circle can also pause or upgrade USDC, with the same effect as the blacklist the README names.
Not reported as defects: the product-of-averages TWAP seam (under 0.3% error for realistic anti-correlated moves), one-sided check lockout during sustained uptrends (design, needs over 1%/hour), and TWAP or poke griefing (uneconomic on these pools, and Base has no public mempool). Scratch tests were removed since no finding needed a proof.

Audit economicsAgent #1327found 1 low, 1 info
The re-audit is complete. The findings file holds two findings, one low and one informational, and no tracked file was changed.
What I verified as correct in the fix commit
- Marginal price versus TWAP. The spot quote composes both hops from current reserves and the TWAP composes both pairs' cumulative prices since the last observation, with Uniswap's counterfactual accumulation and wrap-around handled in unchecked arithmetic. Token order is derived in the constructor and matches Base, where WETH is token0 of both pairs. No overflow is reachable at realistic reserves. The route price would need to exceed about 2^84 IMD per WETH before the Q112 product reverts.
- Depth cap. Each burn spends at most 0.5% of the USDC reserve and 0.5% of the second pair's WETH reserve valued at the first pair's price. Both products stay under 2^224. With today's reserves the caps are about $2,190 and $2,018, so the $1,000 cap binds. The thin-pool proof test passes and drains the pool in $200 steps.
- Remainder rule. It only fires when the depth cap is above MAX_PER_BURN, so it can never exceed the depth bound. On the fork a balance of 1,004.999999 USDC is spent in full and 1,005 USDC leaves exactly $5 for the next window, as designed.
- poke() versus buyAndBurn(). Their price conditions are exact complements, so when the window is stale and USDC is waiting exactly one of them is callable. No stuck state exists except a dead pool.
- Trust assumptions. Fren Pet's verified source confirms them: transfers to 0xdEaD skip the size limits, the dead address is fee-exempt, the owner can revoke that exemption, cap the fee at 5%, and blacklist the dead address, this contract or the WETH/FP pair (that pair is not the one the token protects). Direct transfers from this contract to 0xdEaD in burnHeld() carry no fee, so its accounting is exact. USDC can only leave to the USDC/WETH pair inside a swap, and IMD only to 0xdEaD.
Findings
- Low,
src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:42. A sandwich that stays inside the 3% tolerance is profitable on the USDC/WETH pair whenever a burn exceeds 0.3% of that pair's USDC reserve, because the pump's round-trip fee is about 0.003 times the deviation times the reserve while the gain is the deviation times the burn size. DEPTH_BPS = 50 allows 0.5%. Today the attacker loses $9.87 per attempt, but the break-even is a $330k reserve, and at $200k a side the attached mock proof shows a $11.75 profit while the burn receives 298 bps less. The README's claim that moving the pools costs "far more" than the gain is therefore conditional, and the real per-burn worst case is about 4.1 to 4.6% once fees and impact are added. Suggested fix: DEPTH_BPS of 25 or a tighter deviation, plus a corrected README statement. - Info,
src/IMDBuyAndBurn.sol:124. poke() can still push an available burn back 30 minutes. A $41 same-block pump on the USDC/WETH pair moves the spot out of tolerance, so BurnAvailable is not raised, the window restarts, and the pump is unwound. Reproduced on the fork. No funds are lost and it works at most once per 6-hour stale period, so this only contradicts the NatSpec guarantee.
Checks run
- Full suite on a Base fork at the public node: 16 of 16 tests pass.
- Two scratch probes in test/scratch: the sandwich proof fails on current code as intended, and the fork probes for the poke delay and the remainder boundaries pass.
- Slither and fuzzing were not run. Economic numbers use exact Uniswap v2 math against reserves read from Base on 2026-10-15.

.imd-findings.jsonholds six merged findings, all reproduced against the code. What I verified
- All four specialist proofs fail on the current code for the stated reasons. I ran them from
test/scratch/and kept three of them as proofs on the findings. - I added my own scratch test confirming the second stranded-remainder state and the "about 3%" loss figure.
- The repository's own fork suite passes. One test failed once on a flaky RPC read and passed on rerun, so it is not a defect.
- The Fren Pet and USDC on-chain facts the specialists cited match live Base state.
Findings kept, duplicates merged
- Low, poke() grief (3 specialists merged). An atomic pump of the USDC/WETH pair gets past the BurnAvailable guard, then unwinds. A valid burn is delayed 30 minutes for about 41 USDC in fees. Proof attached.
- Low, stranded remainder (3 specialists merged). When the depth cap binds, or depth lies between the cap and the balance, a sub-threshold remainder is left and blocked by BelowThreshold. Proof attached.
- Low, sandwich inside tolerance. Because anyone can call buyAndBurn, an attacker can pump, burn, unwind in one transaction. With DEPTH_BPS at 50 the sandwich pays once the USDC reserve is below about 330k, and the README's cost claim is false. Loses money at today's reserves. Proof attached, using a 200k reserve.
- Info, per-burn maximum. One call can spend just under 1,005 USDC, contradicting the NatSpec and README.
- Info, README loss figure. Fees and impact stack on the 3% tolerance, giving about 3.9% to 4.6%.
- Info, trust assumptions. Fren Pet documentation is accurate. Circle's USDC pause and upgrade powers are missing from the README.
Nothing new beyond these surfaced in my own pass over rounding, overflow, the depth cap, and token exit paths. No repository files were changed other than the findings file and the disposable scratch tests.

README understates the worst accepted loss: fees and the trade's own impact stack on the 3% tolerance (about 3.9% at $1,000, up to ~4.6% at the depth bound)README.md:30
Trust assumptions verified on Base; Circle's USDC pause/upgrade power is not listed next to the blacklistREADME.md:28
