Recap
Scope covered. All four entrypoints (ProtectedToken, ProtectedHook, TradeExtensionHost, PhaseOneFinalizer), the fee-budget library, and the full inherited hook chain (HookBase → FeeEfficientHook → FeeNftHook → FeePredictionHook → FeePrivacyHook → FeeBatchedPrivacyHook → FeeLpRewardsHook → FeeNftStakingHook), plus the fixed delegate targets, revenue/reserve contracts and the staking vault. The candidate compiles under the pinned profile; ProtectedHook is 24,261 bytes, 315 under EIP-170. I used a public mainnet RPC for read-only checks: the processor and remainder runtime hashes match the constructor pins, the timed-buyback struct layout matches the live slot (window active until 1792066799), the metadata slot is already populated so name/symbol survive the upgrade, NFT staking has started (so the pre-staking
_accruepath that would underflow on a zero-fee plan is dead), and the live token has no permit surface that the candidate drops.Verified clean. I traced all four trade modes with the ceiling check and confirmed the hook fee equals floor(gross·r/1e6) in every mode, that the six allocations can never underflow the wallet remainder, that the 14.9% plan plus a 0.1% protocol fee stays under 15% on both buys and sells, that zero-rate plans clear PlatformRevenue.recordAllocation, that transient plan/module slots cannot leak across swaps or into the hook's self-swaps, and that
execute()correctly blocks reentry, replay, forged receipts, return bombs and in-swap delivery. No path lets an owner or program freeze transfers, buys, sells or LP exits, confiscate assets or redirect earned claims. No critical or high defects were found, so no proof tests were written.Findings written to

finalize()never checks that the new hook is bound to the live ProjectRevenue, PlatformRevenue, LP vault, staking vault, NFT, oracle and feed. A self-consistent set of substitute contracts passes every constructor and finalize check, and the step is irreversible. Fix: compare those getters through the proxy before and after the upgrade, or pin them like the processors. - Low. A trader can force the default 2.3% quote by sending more than 4096 bytes of hookData (no receipt recorded) or by gas-starving the quote, so a program's premium and receipts are optional.
- Info. Trust assumption: programs switch instantly with no delay and may price by address; renouncing token ownership pins the current program forever.
Limits. No archive fork was available, so the fork suite was not re-run and the external LP rewards vault's source is not in the tree; its
recordRewardbehaviour was taken as already live. Dust-sized swaps of a few wei can trip the ceiling check under a max protocol fee; I judged that economically irrelevant and did not report it.ran onclaude · claude-fable-5-1 · 27 turns · 18m 13s · 514 in · 65.4K out · 1.9M cachedsubmission99b84273f3cca41c06fadff5f39d58670163db788fa226bb3efffa98115f58f6devicedff6c0d3de4aa9136bb50e10fe63d467a75d1b379a902c7dc21e0dca0f4367d9started from78274103bdc9c11ad715a38d262c65cf27d4d51ebundlenoneIrreversible finalize() does not verify the new hook's fee-destination and vault bindings against the live proxy; a self-consistent substitute set passes every constructor and finalize checkcandidates/phase1/contract/src/PhaseOneFinalizer.sol:44

The review is complete. The findings file at the repository root holds three substantiated findings, one with a self-contained proof test.
Findings
-
High. Trader-controlled hookData length strips the program's fee and receipt. In
TradeExtensionHost.quoteat line 67, hookData longer than 4096 bytes returns module zero with the 2.3% default plan. On the local fork after finalization, a 0.01 ETH buy against a 14.9% program paid the program 1.49e15 wei and recorded a receipt. The identical buy with 4097 bytes of hookData paid the program nothing, paid the default recipients, and recorded no receipt. Any program rate above the default is therefore unenforceable by anyone willing to spend about 16k gas of calldata. The ceiling itself is not breached. The proof test at test/scratch/OversizedDataBypass.t.sol fails on the current code without a fork. The gas-based fallback on the next line was probed and is not exploitable: the cheapest completing swap needs about 190k gas at the swap call, far above the 105k threshold. -
Medium. The finalizer does not bind the candidate hook's fee destinations to the live ones. Processor, remainder processor, PoolManager and reserve are pinned by address or codehash, but ProjectRevenue, PlatformRevenue, NFT, staking, LP rewards, oracle and feed are only checked for mutual consistency. A self-consistent set of look-alike contracts passes both constructors and finalize, after which both admins are renounced and future allocations are redirected permanently. The owner is trusted, but the irreversible step has no mechanical guard here.
-
Low. A 10 wei exact-input buy reverts with TotalTaxExceeded under a 14.9% plan plus the maximum protocol fee, because the hook fee is floored, the protocol fee is rounded up per step, and the 15% cap is floored. Buys of 100 wei and above and all probed sells succeed. Economically nil, but it is a concrete boundary where trading is rejected.
Verified clean
- Token storage: mainnet balances live in the OZ v5 ERC20 namespace, the owner in the Ownable namespace, and name, symbol and URI at the candidate's metadata slot. Both admins report interface version 5.0.0, so upgradeAndCall with empty data performs no delegatecall.
- Allocation arithmetic: six floored allocations never exceed the total fee in any of the four modes, including exact-output where the fee is derived from net. Zero-rate plans mint nothing and the platform allocation call accepts zeros.
- Ceiling math for buys and sells, protocol snapshot timing, transient plan start and finish, hook self-swaps skipping callbacks, receipt binding, replay, locked-only execution, return-size checks and gas bounds all behaved as specified. Processor and remainder codehashes match mainnet. Staking started in the past, so the pre-staking accrual branch is dead. The timed-buyback slot is populated and active on mainnet, so the window is preserved.
Limits of review
The candidate's own fork suite ran against a local Anvil fork at block 26197295 and passed. No invariant fuzzing beyond the repository's rounding fuzz was run. Legacy processors were reviewed for call sites and pinning, not line by line. Program-side quote inconsistency between the view path and the swap path remains a documented design limit, not a core defect.

.imd-findings.json- Medium, with proof test. Any trader can void the owner-selected program's fee plan by sending more than 4096 bytes of hookData. The host returns the default 2.3% plan with no module before the program is consulted, so a program charging up to 14.9% is bypassable by anyone, and no receipt is recorded for that trade. Proof under
candidates/phase1/contract/test/scratch/HookDataBypass.t.solfails on the current code and tolerates either fix: truncate or hash the data forwarded to the module, or reject oversized data. - Low. The hook constructor pins only manager, reserve, processor and remainder. Project, platform, LP vault, NFT vault, NFT and oracle addresses are accepted from any contract that answers the interface checks, so a mis-built candidate would irreversibly redirect 21,500 of 23,000 default pips after finalization. Privileged path, hardening recommended.
- Info. Trust assumption: the token owner can install any program with no delay, up to 14.9% to itself. Within the design and bounded by the ceiling.
Verified negatives, using live mainnet reads and a fork at the latest block:
- Both proxies are OZ v5 behind the two named ProxyAdmins, so empty-data upgradeAndCall is safe. Sealing, atomic double renounce, trading, module fee minting and receipts all worked on the fork.
- Token ERC20 and Ownable namespaces, the metadata slot, the timed-buyback slot and schedule, and the processor and remainder code hashes all match the live state.
- Allocation arithmetic: the six floored parts never exceed the single fee in any of the four modes, so the hook's delta always settles. The 15% check and zero-rate plans hold. Transient slots are cleared per swap and no attacker-controlled call runs in the swap.
- The gas-dependent fallback in the quote is not reachable by a trader: the minimum gas for a successful buy is about 243k and the program plan still applied there.
Limits. The LP rewards vault source is not in the tree, so its revert conditions on recordReward were not reviewed. Fork checks ran at the latest block, not block 26197295, because the public endpoint refuses archive reads.

What I verified
- The candidate compiles under its own profile, and the project's 12 fork tests pass on a local anvil fork of Ethereum block 26197295 with chain id 31337.
- Against live mainnet: both pinned processor codehashes match, the token metadata slot holds "Claus"/"CLAUS", both ERC1967 admin slots point at the two ProxyAdmins owned by the stated owner, and the candidate's timed-buyback slot holds the live schedule, so the existing window is preserved without new activation.
- Bytecode of the two delegate targets and of the LP-rewards and NFT-staking vaults contains no DELEGATECALL, SELFDESTRUCT or CREATE.
- My own fork probes: six single-destination 14.9% plans and the zero plan trade in all four modes with the maximum protocol fee; batched swaps keep independent transient plans; delivery reentrancy while the PoolManager is unlocked is rejected; a program can spend only its own newly minted claims. The 15% compound-ceiling arithmetic and the allocation rounding were checked algebraically.
Findings
- Medium, with proof: any trader can append more than 4096 bytes of hookData and the host returns no program and the 2.3% default. The selected program earns nothing and gets no receipt, so any program rate above the default is voluntary. Confirmed on the fork and with a self-contained failing test under
test/scratch/OversizedHookDataBypass.t.sol. Suggested fix is to quote the program on truncated or empty data instead of detaching it. - Low: with the v4 protocol fee set, swaps of 1 to 6 wei revert on the ceiling check because the protocol fee rounds up to 1 wei. Economically irrelevant, but it is a trade rejection path.
- Info: instant program switching is a trust assumption; receipts are recorded for trades whose program quote fell back; the pre-staking legacy accrual branch would revert on sub-2% plans but is unreachable on mainnet; the hook runtime is 315 bytes under the EIP-170 limit; and a scope-and-limits note. The LP-rewards vault and the old previousImplementation were only scanned at the bytecode level.
The local anvil fork was stopped. No repository files were modified other than the findings file and my scratch tests.

Trust assumption: token owner can swap the active trade program instantly, so the quoted rate can change to any value up to 14.9% between a user's quote and their swapcandidates/phase1/contract/src/TradeExtensionHost.sol:52
setModule takes effect immediately with no delay, announcement period or two-step. The owner (0xBb145cA83272c3806D4dDc75cA1D5514789cF1C5, the token's Ownable2Step owner) can therefore front-run a pending swap with a program that charges 14.9% (or that discriminates on the PoolManager caller address), and the user's only protection is their router slippage bound.
This is within the documented ceiling and the owner's declared requirement for replaceable programs, so it is reported as a privileged-power trust assumption, not a bypass. If the owner wants users to be able to rely on quoteTradeFee, a short activation delay (pendingModule + effective timestamp) in the host would close the window without changing the design.
Fork 31337 @ 26197295, finalized. quoteTradeFee(ROUTER,true,-0.005e18,'') = 23000.
In the same block: vm.prank(OWNER); host.setModule(moduleCharging149000); then ALICE's exact-input buy of 0.005 ETH is charged 0.000745 ETH (14.9%) as the project tests themselves show (testReplaceableProgramFeeBudgetAndFourTradeModes).
Expected by a user who quoted first: 2.3%; actual: 14.9%, bounded only by amountOutMin.
Receipts are recorded and deliverable for trades the program never priced (quote reverted, OOG, malformed or over-cap), naming that program with the default plancandidates/phase1/contract/src/TradeExtensionHost.sol:77
When the program's STATICCALL fails or returns an invalid plan, quote() returns (module, DEFAULT_PLAN) with module still set.
ProtectedHook then charges 2.3%, mints nothing to the program (pips(5)==0) and still calls record(module, ...) so a receipt bound to that program exists and anyone may execute() it, delivering onTrade for a trade the program did not price. moduleFeeEth is 0 in the receipt so a careful program can detect this, but programs that treat every delivered receipt as a paid trade will mis-account.
Not a custody or ceiling issue (no funds move); flagged because the README states a receipt attests the trade's 'original module/data/amounts', and here the module's plan was not used.
Fix options: return (address(0), DEFAULT_PLAN) on fallback so no receipt is recorded, or carry a 'fallback' flag/plan hash in the Trade struct.
Fork 31337 @ 26197295, finalized. setModule(RevertingModule) (project test contract whose fallback reverts). swap(true,true,0.001 ether) succeeds at 23000 pips and host.nextReceipt() increments; the TradeRecorded event names RevertingModule with moduleFeeEth 0. host.execute(trade,'',100000) then calls RevertingModule.onTrade. Expected per README: receipts attest trades priced by their program; actual: receipt for an unpriced trade.
Pre-staking-start legacy accrual path cannot handle plans below 2% (unreachable on mainnet because the staking vault started 2026-10-10)candidates/phase1/contract/src/legacy/privacy/FeeNftStakingHook.sol:44
If block.timestamp < nftStakingStartsAt, _accrue delegates to FeeLpRewardsHook._accrue which computes project = gross/50 (2%) and platform = totalFee - project with checked arithmetic. Any plan whose total rate is below 2% (including the supported zero-fee plan) makes totalFee < project and the subtraction reverts, which would revert every swap on the main pool.
On the pinned mainnet state this branch is dead: ClausNftStaking at 0x4e5916428452891E1deb59d162c20266ED08CAD4 reports startsAt = 1791672095 (2026-10-10), earlier than the fork block timestamp, so the ProtectedHook always takes the plan-driven branch.
Reported so the dead branch is not revived (e.g. on a redeploy with a future vault) without removing the hard 2% floor; the minimal fix is to delete the legacy branch from the final core or to route it through ClausFeeBudget as well.
ProtectedHook runtime is 24261 bytes, 315 bytes under the EIP-170 limit; any post-review change risks an undeployable corecandidates/phase1/contract/src/ProtectedHook.sol:27

This leaves 315 bytes for any fix arising from this review (for example the hookData truncation in the medium finding, roughly 60-100 bytes).

.imd-findings.jsonin the repository root holds 8 merged findings, all reproduced against the r2 candidate. The anvil fork has been stopped and no repository files were changed; onlytest/scratch/holds my throwaway reproduction tests. What I verified and kept
- High: oversized hookData bypass (TradeExtensionHost.sol:67). Four specialists reported this and all three supplied proofs fail on the current code for the stated reason. I also reproduced it on a local fork at block 26197295: a padded 0.01 ETH buy mints nothing to a 14.9% program, routes 1.3% to the live project revenue, and records no receipt. Merged into one finding with one proof attached. Severity set to high because it is unprivileged, trivial, and defeats the stated r2 requirement for enforceable replaceable programs, though no user funds are at risk.
- Medium: finalize() does not bind fee destinations (PhaseOneFinalizer.sol:44). Reproduced on the fork: a hook built with fake project, platform, LP-rewards and staking contracts passed every constructor check and finalize(), both admins were renounced, the next trade minted all default allocations to the fakes, and the real staking vault's stakingOpen() flipped to false. Three reports merged.
- Low: dust trades revert under the protocol fee (FeeEfficientHook.sol:330). Reproduced: 1 to 6 wei buys and a 1 wei sell revert with TotalTaxExceeded once the 0.1% protocol fee is set; 7 wei succeeds; a 10 wei buy at 14.9% reverts. Two reports merged.
- Info (four): instant setModule trust assumption (three reports merged), receipts recorded for unpriced trades plus fallback indistinguishable in quoteTradeFee, the dead pre-start accrual branch (confirmed dead: vault startsAt is before the fork timestamp), and the 315-byte EIP-170 margin (confirmed 24261 bytes). One scope-and-limits entry closes the list.
Dropped: audit_flow's gas-starvation sub-claim, since audit_math's fork probe showed it unreachable inside a swap that can still complete and I did not measure otherwise.
Other checks: the candidate compiles under its own profile, and the project's 12 fork tests all pass against my fork. No release-blocking defect (trade freeze, custody, ceiling breach or alternative upgrade path) was reproduced. Limits are recorded in the final info entry: no Slither or Mythril, no long fuzzing, and the live vault and processor bytecode were not independently disassembled.

Immutables are already included in that size, so the deployed code is the same size, leaving 315 bytes for any fix arising from this review (the hookData truncation for the high finding touches ProtectedHook._afterSwapExtension if the hashed data must match the quoted data).
Not a defect; recorded because the finalizer pins the implementation codehash and a size overrun discovered at deployment would require a new review cycle. From audit_permissions (info), verified.
cd candidates/phase1/contract && forge build; python3 -c reads out/ProtectedHook.sol/ProtectedHook.json deployedBytecode.object: 24261 bytes (limit 24576). Project test testAtomicSealPreservesCustodyAndRemovesBothUpgradeOwners asserts address(candidate).code.length <= 24576.
