Build Run Cards, a one-page website on Ethereum Sepolia (chain ID 11155111) for an NFT game that is already deployed. Do not write or deploy any contract: the site only reads and calls the existing RunCards contract below. Unofficial fan build for Squeekchain: a real hamster, Squeektoshi, runs on a wheel, and his work is settled on-chain in 10-minute rounds.

THE GAME (show it in plain words on the page)

  • A run is one session of Squeektoshi on the wheel, read from Squeekchain's settled rounds. It ends once 4 hours (24 rounds) pass with no work.
  • Join while he is running: lock 30,000 $CARDIO in the contract. You need to approve RunCards for exactly 30,000 $CARDIO first (each join uses it up).
  • Leave any time before delivery: your 30,000 $CARDIO comes back at once, and you get no card.
  • When the run has ended, anyone presses Deliver: every runner gets one on-chain pixel-hamster card (ERC-721, art fully on-chain), and every runner gets their 30,000 $CARDIO back, in one transaction.
  • Cards show "not revealed yet" until his next run settles; then rarity shows (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary). Longer runs give better odds.
  • Up to 100 runners per run. Joining closes once a settled round with no work follows his last one. No fees, no owner, test coins only.

CONTRACTS ON SEPOLIA (you work offline: use these exactly)

  • RunCards: 0x79224b71fec04bbd1c34d0922e04a11da56d56cf (ERC-721 "Run Cards"), deployed in Sepolia block 12074980. Run 1 is a run that was already under way at deployment (startedEarly): nobody can join it; the first joinable run is the next one.
  • $CARDIO: 0x1CCcE5C1D320F931B9e409C480F532Ca95C0A26B, a plain 18-decimal ERC-20 (balanceOf, allowance, approve).
  • SqueekCore: 0xfd6c166d4b8e2962e65746a13e5a0797cd4de0c4, read state() for the settled round and block height: struct CoreState { uint64 settledThroughRound; uint64 cumulativeWork; uint96 cumulativeBlockUnits; uint64 blockHeight; uint96 blockProgress; uint32 workPerThousandBlocks; uint256 authorizationNonce; bool paused; } function state() view returns (CoreState).

THE PAGE

  1. Header: Run Cards, one line on the game, "Unofficial, on Sepolia testnet. Test coins only."
  2. Live wheel: is he running now? Read GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status (field measurement.coreStatus is RUNNING or IDLE; measurement.speedMmPerSecond) every 30 seconds, and SqueekCore.state() for the settled round. Show Running or Resting and km/h.
  3. This run: from openRun(), runInfo() and running(): run number, started round, rounds with work, work so far, runners of 100, and whether joining is open. If runCount() is 0 or openRun() is 0, say no run has started since the contract was deployed.
  4. Wallet: Connect button using EIP-6963 wallet discovery (fall back to window.ethereum), then switch the wallet to Sepolia (add it if missing). Show the $CARDIO balance and whether it has 30,000.
  5. Buttons, each enabled only when a free eth_call simulation of the same call from the connected wallet succeeds (or, for Join, fails only with NotApproved): Approve 30,000 $CARDIO (when the allowance is below 30,000), Join, Leave (for a run the wallet joined and that is not delivered), Deliver (for an ended, closed run that is not delivered; if deliver says RunNotEnded, send sync() first), Reveal (when revealOf gives a settled round and the run is not revealed). Join: if it reverts NotCaughtUp, send sync() until it returns true, then join. Use fixed gas limits so wallets need not estimate: join 1,500,000, leave 400,000, sync 4,000,000, reveal 400,000, deliver 40,000,000.
  6. My cards: the wallet's cards, found from Delivered events (from the deploy block on) whose runner is the wallet and still owned (ownerOf). For each, call tokenURI, which returns data:application/json;base64 with an image field that is a data:image/svg+xml SVG: decode and show the picture, name and attributes. Unrevealed cards say so.
  7. Past runs: a short table of the last runs: number, work, runners, delivered or not, revealed or not.
  8. How it works and FAQ, in plain words, from THE GAME above. Links: the RunCards contract and $CARDIO on sepolia.etherscan.io, $CARDIO on Wheelpad https://wheelpad.fun/coin/0x1CCcE5C1D320F931B9e409C480F532Ca95C0A26B, Squeekchain https://squeekchain.com.

RULES

  • Static site: no backend, analytics or keys; bundle one pinned copy of ethers v6.
  • Public Sepolia RPCs, in order, next one on any error or 15 s timeout: https://sepolia.gateway.tenderly.co, https://ethereum-sepolia-rpc.publicnode.com, https://1rpc.io/sepolia. Query logs in windows of at most 10,000 blocks.
  • Poll only while the tab is visible; back off to 5 minutes after errors.
  • Never ask for or handle a private key or seed phrase; the wallet signs.
  • Look: dark background, warm orange accent, rounded cards, pixel-art hamster feel, readable on a phone (no sideways scrolling at 375 px).
  • Wording: plain, short English. Never promise value: say test coins and cards have no value.

Work

  1. Posted16 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #66025 files changedsent back

I've built Run Cards and the production build passes, but I couldn't commit it. The repo has no git user name or email, so git commit was refused. All 25 deliverable files are staged on main (source, package-lock.json, dist/, README, DESIGN.md). Your job runner may make the commit itself; if not, it needs a git identity first.

What was checked (on the final build):

    • Typecheck and production build both exit 0. dist/ is 492 KB and uses relative asset URLs.
    • The design probe passed all 16 checks at 320, 390 and 1440 wide. Its browser had no network here, so it measured the page's "Sepolia is not answering" state.
    • My own Playwright test passed 21 of 21, with the built page served under a subpath:
      • Live Sepolia and Squeekchain data: the wheel shows Resting at 0.0 km/h with the settled round. The page says no run has started since deployment, which is correct today: run 1 is the one that was already under way. Past runs lists it as "Not joinable", and there's no sideways scrolling at 320 or 390.
      • A fake wallet against fake chain data: the wallet connects through the connect sheet. Join turns on when the simulation fails only with NotApproved, and clicking it sent an approval for exactly 30,000 $CARDIO, then join() with the 1,500,000 gas limit. Leave sent leave(2) with 400,000 gas.
    • At 390 wide, the first screen shows the wheel status, this run and the Join button, with Connect in the top right.

    Limitations:

    • No real transaction was sent. Join, Approve and Leave were only tested against the fake wallet. Deliver, Reveal, the sync-until-caught-up loop and the card pictures were never run, because no run has been delivered on-chain yet.
    • Deliver's gas limit may be refused. I used the brief's 40,000,000, but Sepolia caps a single transaction at about 16.8 million gas if the Fusaka upgrade's limit is active there. If wallets reject it, lower one value in src/config.ts.
    • Wallet options are narrower than the network's wallet guide. The brief asked for ethers and EIP-6963, so there's no Coinbase Smart Wallet option. Phones get "Open in" links for MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet and Phantom. I left Rabby out because I didn't have its exact link format.
    • One wrap at 390: once connected, the address button drops below the "Run Cards" title. It wraps cleanly and nothing overflows.
    • Not tested: Safari/WebKit, a real phone, a screen reader and browser zoom.

    Decisions:

    • Join on "not approved": clicking it asks you to approve first, then joins.
    • Join when not caught up: it also stays on when Run Cards hasn't caught up with Squeekchain, so it can sync first as the brief asks.
    • "Sync and deliver": it only appears once the settled rounds show 24 or more without work, and never for the open run while the hamster is running.
    • Approve: it has no fixed gas limit because the brief gives none.

artifacts/validation.md (the design review: findings, fixes, what was covered) is on disk but not staged. The job's own git settings exclude artifacts/, so I didn't force it in. The README has the same check results.

Files are in the repository root:

    • README.md
    • DESIGN.md
    • artifacts/validation.md
    • dist/
    • src/

Not delivered: artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

    • highbug: run actions disappear permanently after eight newer runssrc/chain.ts:62

Now: loadChain limits chain.runs to the newest eight runs, and loadAccount searches only that list for Leave, Deliver and Reveal. Older actionable runs cannot be reached anywhere in the page.

Change to: Keep the eight-run limit for the Past runs table, but discover and retain all joined, undelivered and unrevealed runs when constructing account actions.

Why: The brief permits leaving any time before delivery, delivering any ended run and revealing eligible cards; those actions have no eight-run expiry.

      At 390 × 844 in Chromium, use a read-only RPC fixture with runCount()=10, openRun()=0, running()=false and settledThroughRound=1000.

      Run 2 has startedEarly=false, closed=true, minted=0, joiners=1, lastActiveRound=110; joined(2,0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111)=true, and simulations of leave(2) and deliver(2) succeed.

Runs 3–10 are already delivered and revealed.

Connect that fixture wallet on Sepolia.

Expected: Leave run 2 and Deliver run 2 are available.

Actual: only Disconnect and disabled Join are present, and the page says "Nothing to deliver or reveal."

Captured RPC calls request runInfo only for 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3; run 2 is never read or simulated.

The same RECENT filter also drops an older minted, unrevealed run.

    • highbug: mobile connection hides wallets discovered through EIP-6963src/App.tsx:84

Now: on a phone, isMobileBrowser() treats the absence of window.ethereum as proof that no wallet is injected. ConnectControl then hides every EIP-6963 provider, even when discovery has already found one.

Change to: Render discovered wallet buttons whenever w.wallets is nonempty; show the mobile Open in links as the fallback when no provider is discovered.

Why: The brief requires EIP-6963 wallet discovery with window.ethereum only as a fallback. A standards-compliant mobile provider must be connectable without the legacy global.

At 390 × 844 in Chromium and WebKit with an iPhone user agent, inject a provider that responds to eip6963:requestProvider by announcing {info:{uuid:"review-id",rdns:"review.wallet",name:"Review wallet",icon:""},provider}, but do not define window.ethereum.

Wait for discovery, then press Connect.

Expected: a Review wallet button invokes eth_requestAccounts.

Actual: the sheet contains only "Open in MetaMask", "Open in Coinbase Wallet", "Open in Phantom" and Close; its only button is Close and the provider receives zero requests.

With the same provider on desktop the discovered wallet button is shown.

No real wallet or signature is needed to reproduce.

    • highbug: an old account refresh overwrites the newly connected walletsrc/App.tsx:167

Now: an in-flight refresh keeps writing its captured wallet account and cards after accountsChanged starts a new refresh. The previous account can overwrite the new wallet balance and enable actions using simulations from the wrong address.

Change to: Associate each refresh with the wallet address and a request generation; discard its account/card results after that address or generation changes. Clear actions immediately on account changes.

Why: The brief requires the connected wallet balance and enables buttons only from a simulation for that connected wallet.

      At 390 × 844 in Chromium, inject a read-only EIP-6963 wallet on Sepolia.

Account A=0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111 has 30,000 CARDIO and join() succeeds; account B=0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222 has zero and join() reverts NotEnoughCardio.

After the first refresh, delay the next balanceOf(A) response by 1,500 ms and allow a 30-second poll to start.

While it is pending, emit accountsChanged([B]); answer B reads immediately.

At 400 ms the page correctly shows address B, balance 0 and disabled Join.

After A response finishes, the same B address is shown with balance 30,000, "Has 30,000 Yes" and enabled Join.

Captured join simulations run from B, then from A; the late A result overwrites B.

      No transaction is sent.

    • mediumbug: failed refreshes keep presenting old wheel and run data as currentsrc/App.tsx:304

Now: liveErr and chainErr are hidden whenever previous live/chain data exists. After every endpoint fails, the first screen still says Running now, shows the old speed and settled round, and retains previously enabled account actions without a stale warning.

Change to: On a failed refresh, label retained readings as last known, show "Wheel status unavailable. Retrying in 5 minutes." / "Sepolia unavailable. Showing the last reading.", and disable actions until their current-wallet checks are refreshed successfully.

Why: A live status must distinguish current observations from an unavailable feed, and an error state must say only what the page knows.

At 390 × 844 in Chromium, first return measurement={coreStatus:"RUNNING",speedMmPerSecond:1000,freshness:"online"}, settledThroughRound=104 and successful account simulations.

Then return HTTP 503 for the status endpoint and all three RPCs on the next visible-tab poll.

Advance the preinstalled browser clock 31 seconds and let requests finish.

The captured poll makes one failed status request and 12 RPC attempts across the three hosts.

Expected: unavailable/stale labels and disabled action checks.

Actual: before and after the failures the live panel is identical: "Running now · 3.6 km/h" and "Settled round 104 · Squeekchain block 5,000"; Joining remains Open and Join remains enabled, with no error or stale text.

    • mediumbug: ownership lookup failures turn an owned card into an empty collectionsrc/chain.ts:210

Now: every ownerOf failure is converted to null and treated as evidence that the card is not owned. When the RPC cannot answer an ownership read, My cards reports "No cards yet" instead of a read error.

Change to: Propagate ownership transport/RPC failures to the existing cards error state; skip a card only after a successful ownerOf result identifies another owner (or a deliberately handled nonexistent-token result).

Why: The brief asks for the wallet cards still owned, and a failed read does not establish an empty collection.

At 390 × 844 in Chromium, connect 0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111 on Sepolia.

Return a valid Delivered(runNumber=2, runner=that account, tokenId=1) log after block 12074980, and otherwise valid chain/account reads.

Make ownerOf(1) return HTTP 503 from Tenderly, PublicNode and 1rpc.

Expected: "Could not read your cards" and a retry.

Actual: all three ownerOf attempts fail, tokenURI is never requested, and My cards says "No cards yet.

Join a run while he is running: you get a card when the run is delivered."

The error has been swallowed as an empty successful result.

    • mediumbug: card scan errors bypass the required five-minute polling backoffsrc/App.tsx:165

Now: refreshChain catches loadCards failures inside Promise.all and resolves normally, so usePoll schedules another scan after 30 seconds despite the visible card read error.

Change to: Preserve the cards error message but propagate the failed refresh to usePoll, or give card reads their own poller that uses BACKOFF_MS after an error.

Why: The brief explicitly requires a five-minute backoff after errors; a failing Delivered scan must not keep hitting all RPCs twice a minute.

At 390 × 844 in Chromium, connect a read-only Sepolia wallet, allow all eth_call reads to succeed, and answer eth_getLogs with HTTP 503 on each public RPC.

Install the fake browser clock before navigation, wait for the first failed scan, then advance 31 seconds.

Expected: no further log scan before 300,000 ms.

Actual: the first three log requests occur at virtual times 1793950821021, 1793950821028, 1793950821037; a second three-host scan starts at 1793950852518 (31,497 ms later).

My cards continues showing "Could not read your cards.

      Retrying soon."

    • mediumbug: a reverted RPC simulation skips the required fallback providerssrc/rpc.ts:47

Now: rpc immediately throws a revert from the first provider and never asks the next provider. A stale or erroneous first-node response can disable the game even when a later configured RPC would answer the same call successfully.

Change to: Try the configured providers in order after every RPC error, retaining the final revert data so the existing plain-error handling still works when all providers reject the call.

Why: The brief explicitly says to use the next public Sepolia RPC on any error or a 15-second timeout.

At 390 × 844 in Chromium, connect a read-only wallet with 30,000 CARDIO and sufficient allowance.

Return successful run/account reads from all hosts.

For the join() eth_call only, return {error:{code:3,message:"execution reverted",data:}} from https://sepolia.gateway.tenderly.co; configure https://ethereum-sepolia-rpc.publicnode.com to return the successful join result "0x".

Expected: the second provider is tried and Join becomes available.

Actual: the captured join-call host list contains only sepolia.gateway.tenderly.co; Join stays disabled with "He is resting: joining opens again when he runs."

The page simultaneously shows Joining Open from its successful run reads.

    • mediumbug: eligible unrevealed cards are reported as nothing to reveal before connectionsrc/App.tsx:403

Now: waiting counts only undelivered runs, and the no-account branch ignores the eligible unrevealed runs already read from revealOf. It says there is nothing to reveal even while Past runs shows delivered cards that are not revealed.

Change to: Include unrevealed eligible runs in the disconnected summary and say "Connect a wallet to reveal run 2." for that state; use "Reading delivery and reveal status…" until chain data is known. Also replace "Anyone can press these once a run ends." with "Deliver an ended run. Reveal its cards after the next run settles."

Why: The brief requires a Reveal action when revealOf gives a settled round, and the control guidance must distinguish delivery timing from later reveal timing.

At 390 × 844 in WebKit, leave the wallet disconnected.

Return a run with n=2, closed=true, minted=3, revealed=false, revealOf(2)=(103, nonzeroHash), and SqueekCore settledThroughRound=104; no runs are awaiting delivery.

Expected: the Deliver and reveal section identifies that connecting a wallet allows revealing run 2.

Actual: it says "Nothing to deliver or reveal."

A captured revealOf(2) call confirms the eligibility data was read, while the Past runs row shows "Yes, 3 cards" and "Not yet".

The same empty statement is also visible during the initial chain-loading state.
