Since IMD only supports static IPFS hosting, please do not attempt to deploy or run a backend on IMD.

Instead, prepare the existing Hamster Friendship project for integration with an external Supabase backend.

Please:

  1. Implement optional MetaMask wallet connection in the existing game.
  2. Build the public Top 100 leaderboard interface.
  3. Integrate the frontend with Supabase APIs.
  4. Prepare the required database schema and SQL migration.
  5. Provide Supabase Edge Functions for wallet signature authentication and secure score submission.
  6. Implement best-score tracking per wallet.
  7. Keep guest gameplay available, but exclude guest scores from the leaderboard.
  8. Document all environment variables and deployment steps.

Preserve the existing game and its design.

Do not create a new project. Do not deploy anything outside IMD. Generate all required code and configuration in the existing GitHub repository, and clearly explain what I need to configure separately in Supabase.

    Failed in the task.

needs input: The existing Hamster Friendship project is absent from the supplied workspace: no game source, assets, or package manifest were provided. Extending it while preserving its gameplay and design requires the original project files; creating a replacement would violate the task. — Can you provide the existing Hamster Friendship project files in this workspace, including its source, package manifest and lockfile, and game assets?

Recorded four medium findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • bug: Play again can discard a score still saving.
    • bug: Connect wallet clips at 320px.
    • bug: A personal best outside the leaderboard is announced as entering the Top 100.
    • taste: First-screen prose exceeds the phone budget: 80 words against 60.

The visual idea is a small hamster arcade carried by warm cream colors and sunflower illustrations.

Guest gameplay and persistence passed in Chromium and WebKit. Controlled API tests covered leaderboard states and the reported bugs; live Supabase setup still needs the requester’s project and credentials. Source files remain unchanged.

    • mediumbug: Play again can discard the score that is still savingsite/js/app.js:153

Now: game over immediately enables Play again while score-submit is pending. Starting the next game calls run-start, which rejects the previous open run as "replaced by a newer run"; its pending score then fails with 409 run_closed.

Change to: keep the replay button disabled while that game is opening/submitting its ranked run, and restore it in every success/failure exit once saving has settled. Keep the pending text visible.

Why: immediate replay must not erase a completed run before best-score tracking can save it.

      Width 390px, height 844px.

Configure the API, sign in, finish a ranked run, and delay the score-submit request before it reaches the function (e.g. a throttling proxy).

While the overlay says "Saving your score…", press Play again, then release the delayed submission.

In the local reproduction, the unmodified run-start and score-submit handlers ran against an in-memory database adapter: replay-disabled was false; network order was run-start 200, score-submit pending, run-start 200, score-submit 409 {"code":"run_closed"}.

The first stored run became status rejected with rejected_reason "replaced by a newer run".

Expected: the completed score settles before the next run replaces it.

No real wallet or hosted Supabase service was used for this controlled test.

    • mediumbug: the wallet button clips both ends of its label at 320pxsite/style.css:213

Now: the header flex row shrinks Connect wallet below its text width at 320px. Because the button centers its content and hides overflow, the first and last letters are visibly cut off instead of an ellipsis.

      Change to: add @media (max-width: 359px) { .top-inner { flex-wrap: wrap; } .top-inner > #connect { flex-shrink: 0; margin-inline-start: auto; } }. The full wallet button then wraps onto a second row and retains its existing 44px target.

Why: a visitor must be able to read the optional wallet action; clipping critical control text is a layout defect.

Width 320px, height 700px, fresh guest visit with the default config.

Load the page and inspect the header before any interaction.

      Chromium measured #connect at x=177.609, width=126.391, right=304; its text range was x=173.750, width=134.125, right=307.875.

The text extends about 3.9px past each button edge and is clipped by overflow:hidden; clientWidth=124, scrollWidth=145.

The 320px screenshot visibly loses parts of the initial C and final t.

Expected: the entire Connect wallet label fits inside its control without horizontal page scrolling.

Testing this CSS as an in-memory style override gave the button width 168.125px, kept document width at 320px, and kept Play entirely visible at y=504.125–548.125.

    • mediumbug: an unranked personal best is announced as a Top 100 entrysite/js/app.js:166

Now: every isNewBest response says "New best saved to the Top 100", even when rank is null because 100 other wallets have higher scores. The leaderboard simultaneously tells that player to beat number 100 to join the table.

Change to: replace that success sentence with "New personal best saved." and append "You are number ${r.rank}." only when the returned rank is present.

Why: a success state must describe what was actually saved; a personal best does not imply membership in the public Top 100.

      Width 390px, height 844px.

Populate the database with 100 wallets scoring 900 or more.

Sign in as another wallet and finish its first run with 4 points. record_score returns best_score=4, is_new_best=true, rank=null (confirmed by applying the migration in a local PostgreSQL-compatible PGlite database, omitting only the pgcrypto extension declaration).

Feed that response to the frontend: the game-over text says "New best saved to the Top 100" while #you says "Beat the number 100 score to join the table."

Expected: acknowledge the personal best without claiming a Top 100 place.

This browser state was tested with controlled API responses, not a live Supabase account.

    • mediumtaste: the first phone screen exceeds the copy budgetsite/index.html:34

Now: the first 390px screen contains 80 words of prose, including repeated guest/ranking explanations around the game.

Change to: use "A tiny hamster arcade game." for the lede, "Arrow keys or drag. P pauses." for the control hint, and "Ranking is not connected yet. Play as a guest." for NOT_CONFIGURED in site/js/app.js. Keep the guest-storage note and the leaderboard exclusion text. The shorter lines let the game move up and its controls stay close to it.

Why: the phone copy budget is 60 words; the main interaction should need less reading without hiding the service setup state.

      Width 390px, height 844px.

Load the committed export with the default empty config and do not interact.

      Run node .imd/reads/skills/design-critic/scripts/taste.mjs --out test/scratch/taste.

The copy-budget check reports "prose on the first screen: 80 words at 390 (bar 60)"; the screenshot confirms the 3-line lede, 3-line control hint and repeated guest explanations.

Expected: at most 60 words, with instructions next to their controls.

Testing these replacement strings through an in-memory HTTP response override reduced the same probe measurement to 46 words; repository source was not changed.
