Build a TypeScript (Node 20+) read-only Squeekchain Sepolia settlement-latency tracker for Genesis CODE.

Requirements:

  1. Against one pinned finalized Sepolia block, first run the official Squeekchain Quickstart deployment checks (EIP-1967 implementation/admin slots, runtime code hashes, storage layout digests, versions, timelock ownership, graph links, launch config). If any check fails, stop.
  2. Replay every SqueekCore BatchSettled event from the Core deploy block, plus Paused / Unpaused / ReporterUpdated, and SqueekMining Checkpointed.
  3. For each BatchSettled batch, compute oldestLatencySec and newestLatencySec (batch timestamp minus close time of first/last round in the batch), gapSincePrevSec, and current unsettled closed rounds after settledThroughRound.
  4. Write CSV/JSON outputs under out/: batches.csv, alerts.csv, daily.csv, summary.json. Alert types: SETTLEMENT_LATENCY, BATCH_GAP, UNSETTLED_NOW, FRONTIER_DISCONTINUITY, NONCE_JUMP, PAUSED, UNPAUSED, REPORTER_ROTATED, MINING_CHECKPOINT_LAG.
  5. Serve a small local dashboard (e.g. npm run serve on localhost) that shows summary + recent alerts.
  6. No wallet and no private keys — only eth_call, eth_getStorageAt, eth_getCode, eth_getLogs, eth_getBlockByNumber against a public Sepolia RPC.
  7. Include npm scripts: verify, track, serve, test. Include a clear README with Quick start.
  8. Publish the full source to GitHub.

Use public docs at https://docs.squeekchain.com/developers/ and Sepolia deployments from the Quickstart.

Saved 5 findings: 1 high and 4 medium in .imd-findings.json.

The high finding is that --block accepts unfinalized blocks. Medium findings cover the extra RPC method, an omitted current day in the daily rollup, insufficient chart contrast, and loss of the previous snapshot after a failed reload.

    Explicit requirementStatus and evidence
“TypeScript (Node 20+) read-only” trackerMet: package.json, src/tracker/; no signing client.
“One pinned finalized Sepolia block”; official checks; stop on failureMissing: explicit blocks bypass finality validation in rpc.ts:22. The 26 deployment checks pass, and a forced mismatch stops before replay.
Replay every BatchSettled, Paused, Unpaused, ReporterUpdated, and Checkpointed from deploymentMet: replay.ts; fresh replay returned 1,653 batches, six controls, and 1,628 checkpoints.
Compute oldest/newest latency, batch gaps, and current unsettled closed roundsMet: analyze.ts; independent calculations matched all 1,653 exported batches.
Four outputs under out/, with all nine specified alert typesMet: track.ts:126 writes all four files; analyze.ts:52 implements every requested alert type. Daily completeness has a separate defect.
Local dashboard showing “summary + recent alerts”Met: serve.ts, App.tsx; summary, filters, pagination, downloads, and checks disclosure work.
“No wallet and no private keys”; only the five listed public RPC methodsMissing: wallet/key restriction is met, but verify.ts:53 additionally calls eth_chainId.
Scripts verify, track, serve, test; README Quick startMet: package.json, README.md; six tests pass.
“Publish the full source to GitHub”After review: source is present locally; publication is deferred.
Public developer docs and Quickstart Sepolia deploymentsMet: config.ts identities were compared with the official Quickstart.

The visual idea is a settlement tracker organized around one warning-tinted status panel, followed by its evidence.

Checked Chromium and WebKit at 320, 390, and 1440px. Application files remain unchanged.

    • highbug: an explicit block bypasses the finalized snapshot requirementsrc/tracker/rpc.ts:22

Now: Supplying --block or ETHEREUM_BLOCK accepts any numbered block without comparing it with the finalized head. Both verify and track use this function, so an unfinalized snapshot can pass through the normal verification and output path. A hash recheck at the end only detects changes during that run; it does not establish finality.

Change to: Resolve the finalized head even when an explicit block is supplied and reject an explicit block above it before deployment verification or replay. Keep historical finalized blocks available for reproducible runs.

Why: Requirement 1 explicitly requires one pinned finalized Sepolia block; this guarantee is currently absent from the documented explicit-block workflow.

Width independent (tracker CLI; the resulting dashboard was reviewed at 390×844).

With dependencies installed, import makeClient and pinBlock from src/tracker/rpc.ts in a tsx script.

      Read client.getBlock({blockTag:'finalized'}) and client.getBlock({blockTag:'latest'}), then call pinBlock(client, String(latest.number)).

In the measured run the finalized block was 12017278 and latest was 12017353.

Actual: pinBlock returned number 12017353, tag 'explicit', without error; accepted.number <= finalized.number was false.

Expected: reject that input before the shared verify/track workflow proceeds.

A deterministic reproduction is a getBlock stub returning number 100n for blockTag 'finalized' and 101n for the requested block, with a non-null hash and timestamp: pinBlock(stub, '101') currently succeeds and never requests the finalized head.

    • mediumfidelity: verification uses a sixth RPC method outside the brief's allowlistsrc/tracker/verify.ts:53

Now: Every verification sends eth_chainId in addition to the five methods permitted by the brief. This is honestly disclosed in the README, but it still exceeds the explicit method restriction.

Change to: Preserve the chain identity check using eth_call at the pinned block and decode the returned CHAINID, instead of calling getChainId(). An execution-only eth_call with creation bytecode 0x4660005260206000f3 returns that value without deploying a contract or sending a transaction.

Why: Requirement 6 explicitly allows only eth_call, eth_getStorageAt, eth_getCode, eth_getLogs and eth_getBlockByNumber. The official Quickstart's chain check should be adapted to that restriction rather than adding an RPC method.

Width independent (verify/track CLI, dashboard reviewed at 390×844).

Invoke verifyGraph(client,12017278n) with a viem custom transport that records request.method, returns '0xaa36a7' for eth_chainId and throws for its next request.

The measured calls are ['eth_chainId','eth_getStorageAt']; the first call is outside the five-method allowlist.

A gateway enforcing the brief's list would reject it before any deployment check.

As a check of the proposed replacement, client.call({data:'0x4660005260206000f3',blockNumber:12017278n}) against the public Sepolia RPC successfully returned a 32-byte value decoding to 11155111.

    • mediumbug: the daily rollup omits the pinned day before its first eventsrc/tracker/analyze.ts:461

Now: The daily range ends at the last batch or alert date instead of the pinned block's date. Just after UTC midnight, before the first settlement and while backlog remains below its alert threshold, the current day disappears from daily.csv and the dashboard table.

Change to: Keep the first-event start date, but set the loop's inclusive upper bound to midnight UTC of iso(pinned.timestamp).slice(0, 10). Emit the existing zero-batch row for each intervening day.

Why: The rollup is meant to show activity through the pinned snapshot and preserve days with no settlements; the current implementation makes a quiet current day indistinguishable from an untracked day.

Width independent in analyze(); visible in Daily settlement at 390×844 and 1440×844.

      Call analyze with timing {genesisTimestamp:1791847800, roundDuration:600}, default thresholds {latencySec:3600,batchGapSec:3600,unsettledRounds:6,checkpointLagRounds:36}, controls:[], checkpoints:[], and one BatchEvent at 2026-10-12T23:59:00Z settling previousSettledThroughRound:0n through settledThroughRound:2n (blockNumber:1n, logIndex:0, txHash:'0x1', digest:'0x', reporter:'0xR', nonce:1n, activeRoundCount:0, cumulativeWork:0n, cumulativeBlockUnits:0n).

      Pin blockNumber:2n at 2026-10-13T00:01:00Z with settledThroughRound:2n, authorizationNonce:1n, paused:false, miningProcessedThroughRound:2n.

Actual: now.unsettledClosedRounds is 1, there are no alerts, and daily contains only 2026-10-12.

Expected: daily also contains 2026-10-13 with batches:0, roundsSettled:0 and alerts:0.

    • mediumaccessibility: latency bars do not meet non-text contrastweb/src/styles.css:17

Now: The ordinary latency bars use #8aa6c8 against the chart's #ffffff background, a 2.509:1 contrast ratio. All 288 batches in the supplied chart use this color.

Change to: Set --bar to var(--accent), reusing the existing darker blue without changing the chart structure.

Why: The bars carry the latency comparison and need at least 3:1 contrast against the adjacent background under WCAG 1.4.11. The text-only contrast check in taste@1 does not measure these SVG marks.

At 390×844 and 1440×844, open the supplied dashboard, scroll to 'Oldest-round latency, last 288 batches', and inspect .chart .bar and .chart svg.

      Chromium computes fill rgb(138, 166, 200) and background-color rgb(255, 255, 255).

Applying the WCAG relative-luminance formula gives 2.509209956987426:1, below the expected 3:1.

The chart screenshot confirms that all ordinary bars are pale against white.

    • mediumbug: a failed reload discards the last successful snapshotweb/src/App.tsx:20

Now: After a successful load, a single failed reload replaces the entire dashboard with 'No tracker data yet', erasing the already loaded summary, alerts and downloads. The message also claims there has never been data when a snapshot was just displayed.

Change to: Retain the last successful summary when a refresh fails and show 'Could not reload data. Showing the previous snapshot.' with the existing Reload data button; reserve the full-page error for the first load.

Why: A snapshot dashboard should keep its known data available during a temporary read failure, and each failure state should say only what the application knows without moving all unrelated content.

At 390×844 in Chromium, load / successfully and confirm 'Settlement is behind by 361 rounds' and 15 alert rows.

Then intercept the next /data/summary.json request with HTTP 503 (for example Playwright page.route('/data/summary.json', route => route.fulfill({status:503, body:'Unavailable'}))) and click Reload data.

Actual: #status-title count is 0, .alert count is 0, and the only panel says 'No tracker data yet' with instructions to rerun track and serve.

Expected: the previous 361-round summary and alert list remain visible with a refresh-error message and a working retry.

  4. Build websiteAgent #174316 files changed

Fixed all five findings, rebuilt dist/, and recorded verdicts in .imd-responses.json.

Passed: 13 unit tests, 66 Chromium checks, 16 design checks, typecheck, production build and 26 live deployment checks. Historical replay reproduced the committed CSVs exactly.

WebKit remains unverified because required system libraries are missing. Details are in validation.md.

Not delivered: artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

All five previous findings are fixed. No new reproducible defects were found. .imd-findings.json contains {"findings":[]}.

    1. “One pinned finalized Sepolia block” and deployment checks — met. src/tracker/rpc.ts rejects explicit blocks above finality. verify.ts implements the official Quickstart checks; all 26 passed at block 12017406. src/cli/track.ts stops before replay on failure.
    2. “Replay every” specified event — met. src/tracker/replay.ts replayed 1,653 settlements, six control events and 1,628 checkpoints from the Core deploy block.
    3. Latency, batch gaps and unsettled rounds — met. src/tracker/analyze.ts matched independent calculations for all 1,653 batches. The quiet pinned-day reproduction now includes its zero-activity row.
    4. CSV/JSON outputs and nine alert types — met. src/cli/track.ts writes batches.csv, alerts.csv, daily.csv and summary.json under default out/; analyze.ts implements all nine specified alert types.
    5. Local dashboard with summary and recent alerts — met. src/cli/serve.ts serves the dashboard. web/src/App.tsx preserves the snapshot after a failed reload and recovers on retry. Chart bars in styles.css now measure 8.141:1 contrast.
    6. No wallet, keys or RPC methods outside the allowlist — met. Live verification recorded only permitted methods. Chain identity uses pinned eth_call; every state read used the selected block.
    7. TypeScript, Node 20+, scripts and Quick start — met. package.json declares the engine and all four required scripts; README.md documents setup and operation.
    8. “Publish the full source to GitHub” — after review. The README explicitly discloses that publication remains pending.

Validation passed: 13 unit tests, typecheck, 66 Chromium checks, 66 WebKit checks and 16 design checks. Browser coverage included 320, 390, 768 and 1440 pixels.

The site is an operator’s settlement dashboard whose prominent status panel leads into a compact alert ledger. Application files remain unchanged.
