Audit IMDEX5 (src/Imdex5.sol), an index of the five largest IMD-paired tokens on Ethereum. Read THREAT_MODEL.md first: it lists the actors, the six invariants, the accepted behaviour that is not a

finding, and the severity scale. The code is launch 1668's deployed and audited contract with one change: mint(shares, maxImdIn, minShares) reverts TooFewShares when fewer than minShares shares would be

issued, and every buy rolls back. Check that change and its interaction with short fills, taxed coins (SwarmCity takes 2% on transfer), hooks that revert, burn gas or re-enter, and the refund of unspent IMD.

Check that no path issues shares for nothing, dilutes holders, leaves IMD unaccounted, or lets a caller keep value that belongs to holders. Report every finding with its severity, a reproduction, and the line.

135 unit tests and 8 mainnet fork tests are in test/ (fork tests need --fork-url).

8 findings

Four agents audited the code as it is at d376aca, each in one area, and a judge reproduced, merged and ranked what they found, then read the code once more itself. Nothing in the code was changed or deployed.

  • 1.mediumrebalance books a swap that consumed its input and delivered nothing as a success: idle IMD is spent for no coins and coins are sold for no IMDsrc/Imdex5.sol:514

                idleImd -= amountIn;

    _tryBuy (lines 510-519) and _trySell (lines 499-508) accept whatever swapSelf returns. When the swap takes its input and returns amountOut == 0, _tryBuy still does idleImd -= amountIn; held += 0 and _trySell still does held -= amountIn; idleImd += 0. mintFirst (line 379) and mint (lines 400-403) refuse exactly this outcome with BuyFailed, but rebalance, which spends the holders' own idle IMD and sells their holdings with no caller-side bound, has no output check at all.

    The 2% sqrt-price stop only bounds the pool curve; it does not bound a hook with return-delta permissions that takes the output, nor a coin that taxes 100% on transfer (amountOut is the measured balance delta at line 551). The threat model trusts hooks and coins for nothing.

    Per rebalance, step 4 spends up to idleImd/listCount (capped at a quarter of total value) on each list coin and steps 1 and 3 sell every leaver and every over-weight holding, so a single listed coin whose pool returns nothing can take up to about a quarter of the index's value per weekly rebalance, with accounting (invariants 1 and 2) still balanced, so nothing flags it. Invariant 5 does not cover it because the value goes to the hook/pool, not the caller.

    Severity medium per the scale: loss under unusual but reachable conditions (a top-5 coin whose hook or tax swallows swap output). Merged from audit_economics; reproduced with the specialist's proof and with a self-contained one (attached).

    Fix preserving the design: in swapSelf (or in _tryBuy/_trySell) revert when amountIn > 0 && amountOut == 0 so the try/catch skips the swap exactly as mint treats it; a stronger version requires amountOut to be at least the amount implied by the pre-swap sqrt price at the 2% limit, so a hook cannot bypass the stop by returning 1 wei.

    Design note: README accepts 'a pool's own hook fee'; a hook keeping 100% of output is theft, not a fee, and the code can defend against it cheaply, but the requester should decide where the acceptable fee ends.

    Mocks as test/Imdex5Base.sol (five pools at 1,000,000 coin / 10,000 IMD, alice mintFirst(1000e18)).

    Deliver and submit a five-coin list where launch 2000 (NEW_TOKEN) replaces the fifth coin; make NEW_TOKEN's pool take its input and return 0 (pm.setShortBy(key, type(uint128).max) in the repo mock, or the zeroOut flag in the attached proof).

    Call rebalance().

    Expected: the buy that delivers nothing is skipped (SwapSkipped), idle IMD unchanged by it.

    Actual: the pool's IMD reserve rose by 20397999999999999999 wei in the repo-mock run (39799999999999999999 wei in the attached self-contained run), idleImd fell by the same, held[NEW_TOKEN] stayed 0 and Swapped(NEW_TOKEN, true, amountIn, 0) was emitted.

    Sell side: with setShortBy on the leaving coin's pool, rebalance() moved held[leaver] from 19511716834983821943327 to 9607794782811941356897 while idleImd did not increase.

    Scratch runs: test/scratch/ProofRebalanceZero.t.sol (specialist's, both tests fail on this code) and test/scratch/ProofRebalanceZeroSelf.t.sol (attached, fails: 'idle IMD was paid for a buy that delivered nothing: 39799999999999999999 != 0').

  • 2.lowredeemToImd charges the 0.50% fee to the last holder; redeem and the in-kind leg pay 100% (invariant 4: the last holder is paid in full)src/Imdex5.sol:442

            uint256 fee = Math.mulDiv(proceeds, FEE_BPS, BPS, Math.Rounding.Ceil);

    THREAT_MODEL.md invariant 4 says a redeem pays pro-rata minus 0.50% and 'the last holder is paid in full'. redeem() honours it (keepBps = BPS when supply == shares, line 205) and so does the in-kind fallback of _redeemToImd (keepBps at line 422).

    The IMD leg of _redeemToImd does not: line 442 takes fee = ceil(proceeds * 50 / 10000) unconditionally on the sold coins plus the idle share, so the holder who burns the whole supply loses 0.50% to feeImd, which never returns to holders (it only pays the oracle and caller rewards). The two exit paths therefore disagree at the boundary supply == shares: redeem(all) pays 100% of idle IMD, redeemToImd(all) pays 99.50% of it.

    No third party gains, so low: a bounded rule inconsistency. Merged from audit_math, audit_permissions and audit_flow (identical mechanism and line). Fix that keeps the documented economics: `uint256 fee = supply == shares ?

    0 : Math.mulDiv(proceeds, FEE_BPS, BPS, Math.Rounding.Ceil);` (keepBps is already computed for this case at line 422). If the unconditional fee on the IMD leg is intended, amend invariant 4 and the redeemToImd NatSpec instead.

    Mocks as test/Imdex5Base.sol: alice mintFirst(1000e18) and is the only holder with 995e18 shares; feeImd = 5e18. alice calls redeemToImd(995e18, 0).

    Expected (invariant 4): alice receives all sale proceeds plus all idle IMD, feeImd stays 5e18.

    Actual: alice receives 990024999999999999995 IMD and feeImd rises by 4975000000000000000 (= ceil(995e18 * 50 / 10000)); totalSupply is 0 afterwards.

    Compare redeem(995e18) by the same holder: feeImd unchanged, alice receives 100% of idle IMD and every coin.

    Scratch runs: test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_A_lastHolderRedeemToImdPaysNoFee fails '4975000000000000000 != 0'; the attached self-contained test/scratch/ProofLastHolderFee.t.sol fails 'the last holder was charged the 0.50% fee on the IMD leg: 9975000000000000000 != 5000000000000000000'.

  • 3.lowsubmit binds only on keccak256(answer) and the signature: expiresAt, issuedAt, requestId, questionHash and agreed of the presented attestation are not checked (invariant 6 says 'unexpired')src/Imdex5.sol:312

            if (!SignatureChecker.isValidSignatureNowCalldata(oracleSigner, attestationDigest(a), signature)) {

    submit checks that keccak256(a.answer) equals the hash the Intake delivered and that the panel signed attestationDigest(a); it never calls the inherited _verifyAttestation (src/OracleAttestation.sol lines 157-165), so a.expiresAt and a.issuedAt are not enforced, and a.requestId, a.questionHash and a.agreed are only ever read from the Intake's unsigned delivery in onOracleResult, never from the signed struct.

    Consequences: (a) an attestation can be submitted any time after its expiry as long as no later ask() cleared answerHash, i.e. up to the 7-day ASK_INTERVAL against a 1-day validForSeconds, so a list the panel computed up to a week earlier can still be adopted and rebalanced on; (b) any attestation the panel ever signed for this consumer whose answer bytes hash to the delivered value passes, whatever its request id, question, window or agreed count.

    THREAT_MODEL.md invariant 6 requires 'unexpired and not replayed'; README 'Security notes' and ADAPTATION.md describe skipping expiresAt as deliberate (clearing at ask instead). The two documents disagree and the code follows the README. Impact is bounded because the hash binds the answer bytes to what the Intake delivered for the open request, so a different list cannot be substituted; the binding rests entirely on trusting the Intake.

    Merged from audit_economics, audit_flow (expiry) and audit_permissions (request binding): one mechanism, one line.

    Fix: replace the bare SignatureChecker call with _verifyAttestation(a, signature) (adds the window check, keeps the signature check) and check a.agreed >= MIN_AGREED; optionally store the delivered requestId in onOracleResult and compare a.requestId at submit. Or drop 'unexpired' from invariant 6.

    Mocks as test/Imdex5Base.sol: alice fund(2e18), bob ask(), the Intake delivers attestation a for launch 2000 via onOracleResult (agreed 5, expiresAt START+86400).

    Build b = a with requestId = keccak256('some other request'), questionHash = keccak256('another question'), agreed = 1, issuedAt = START-100, expiresAt = START-1; sign b with the panel key; warp to START + 3 days; carol calls submit(b, sig).

    Expected per invariant 6: revert (AttestationExpired).

    Actual: succeeds, nextList() has 1 entry, carol is paid the 0.25 IMD reward.

    Scratch runs: test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_DE_submitAcceptsExpiredAndRetaggedAttestation fails 'next call did not revert as expected'; the specialist's self-contained test/scratch/ProofExpiry.t.sol (attached) fails the same way on an attestation with expiresAt = START-1 submitted at START + 30 days.

  • 4.lowmint: a need >= 2**255 wraps in int256(amount) and turns the exact-output buy into an exact-input swapsrc/Imdex5.sol:534

                .swap(key, IPoolManager.SwapParams(zeroForOne, exactOut ? int256(amount) : -int256(amount), limit), "");

    _mintMore computes need = ceil(held * shares / supply) from the caller-chosen shares (line 397) and passes it to _swap as an exact-output amount. _swap casts it with int256(amount) without a range check: for need in (2255, 2256) the cast yields a negative amountSpecified, which Uniswap v4 (and the repo mock) reads as an exact-INPUT swap of (2**256 - need) wei of IMD.

    The mint then no longer 'requests exactly held * f of every coin' (README, Mint): it spends an attacker-chosen IMD amount per coin and issues floor(shares * out / need) shares, and a request that could never be filled succeeds instead of reverting.

    Because need derives from the same shares, minted still equals out * supply / held (fair, rounded down) and idle IMD is charged on the issued shares, so no dilution or theft was found (invariant 3 holds); what breaks is the exact-output guarantee, the short-fill semantics and the meaning of Minted.

    In practice every held must be (near-)identical, or only one coin held, for every wrapped need to be affordable; otherwise one coin's exact input hits the price limit and the mint reverts TooExpensive. The floor still applies. From audit_flow; reproduced with its proof.

    Fix: in _mintMore revert if need > uint256(type(int256).max), or use SafeCast.toInt256 in _swap.

    Plain constant-product manager, five pools at 1,000,000e18 coin / 10,000e18 IMD, alice mintFirst(1000e18) so supply = 995e18 and held = h for every coin. bob calls mint(shares, 100e18, 0) with shares = mulDiv(2256 - 1e18, supply, h) (about 5.9e75), so need = ceil(h * shares / supply) is in (2255, 2**256).

    Expected: revert (an exact output of about 2**256 coins cannot be delivered; pools hold 1e24).

    Actual: five exact-input swaps of about 1e18 IMD each run, Minted(bob, 4901960784313725504, 5025000000000000016) is emitted and bob holds 4.9 shares for 5.025 IMD.

    Scratch run: test/scratch/ProofWrapCast.t.sol (attached) fails 'next call did not revert as expected' on this code.

  • 5.lowThe minShares floor is checked only after every buy has run; minShares > shares is not rejected at entry, so doomed mints pay for all swaps and hooks before revertingsrc/Imdex5.sol:407

            if (minted < minShares) revert TooFewShares(minted);

    minted starts at shares and can only decrease inside the loop (line 401), so once minted < minShares holds for coin i the outcome is fixed, and a call with minShares > shares can never succeed.

    The check sits after the loop, so both cases still perform every remaining exact-output swap (PoolManager.swap with the hook's beforeSwap/afterSwap, sync, transfer, settle, take, balance reads; mint calls _swap directly with no gas cap) and only then revert TooFewShares, rolling everything back.

    No funds are lost and nothing is issued; the cost is gas and clarity: a front-runner who forces a short fill on the first list coin makes every floored mint burn the gas of five full swaps, and a hook that burns gas makes the wasted part larger. Merged from audit_math (info), audit_economics (low) and audit_flow (low): same mechanism and line.

    Fix without semantic change: if (minShares > shares) revert TooFewShares(shares); before the loop, and if (minted < minShares) revert TooFewShares(minted); right after minted is reduced at line 401.

    Mocks as test/Imdex5Base.sol, alice mintFirst(1000e18). bob calls mint(100e18, 2000e18, 101e18).

    Expected: immediate revert.

    Actual: the -vvvv trace shows five Swapped events (one per coin, amountIn 20438877755511022045 each) inside the unlock before the revert TooFewShares(100000000000000000000); bob's IMD balance is unchanged.

    Gas: the doomed call used 828788 gas against 873523 for a real mint(100e18, 2000e18, 0) in the same state (test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_C_gasOfDoomedMintVersusRealMint, fails '828788 >= 291174').

    Likewise, with pm.setShortBy on coin 0 so it fills a sliver (as test_sliverFillBelowFloorRevertsAndRollsBack), mint(100e18, 2000e18, 97e18) buys coins 1..4 before reverting.

  • 6.infoA leftover coin whose pool has no liquidity blocks mint for as long as the pool is empty, not 'until the next rebalance' as THREAT_MODEL.md statessrc/Imdex5.sol:399

                (uint256 amountIn, uint256 out) = _swap(coin.token, coin.hook, true, need, true, false);

    THREAT_MODEL.md accepts that 'a coin whose pool dies blocks mint until the next rebalance'.

    That bound does not hold for a coin already dropped from the list: _mintMore iterates all of _coins (list plus leftovers) and buys every coin with held > 0 through a direct _swap, not wrapped in try/catch, so a dead pool makes every mint revert. _rebalance step (1) only removes a leftover when _trySell succeeds; while the pool is dead the sale is skipped and line 466 re-appends the coin every cycle, so the block lasts as long as that pool's liquidity providers keep it empty.

    README 'Security notes' documents exactly this ('every mint reverts until the pool works again and a rebalance sells it'), so it is accepted behaviour; the threat model's wording is the inaccuracy. Holders can still redeem and redeemToImd, so no funds are frozen; the index cannot grow and the fee stream stops. From audit_math; reproduced.

    Options, each a design decision: align the threat model text with the README, or for coins beyond listCount buy through try swapSelf and treat a failure as a short fill of 0 only when the holding's value is below a dust threshold, or pay an unsellable leftover out to holders in kind at rebalance.

    Mocks as test/Imdex5Base.sol: alice mintFirst(1000e18); pm.setDead on coin 4's pool; deliver a 4-launch list dropping coin 4; rebalance.

    State: coins().length == 5 (coin 4 is a leftover with held > 0), listCount == 4. bob mint(10e18, 2000e18, 0): reverts.

    Warp 8 days, deliver the same list, rebalance again: coins().length still 5 and mint reverts again, while alice redeem(1e18) succeeds.

    Expected per THREAT_MODEL: mint works after the next rebalance.

    Actual: blocked across every rebalance while the pool stays dead.

    Scratch run: test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_B_leftoverDeadPoolBlocksMintAcrossRebalances passes, i.e. demonstrates the block.

  • 7.infomint's ABI changed from launch 1668: the two-argument selector mint(uint256,uint256) no longer exists and reverts with no datasrc/Imdex5.sol:191

        function mint(uint256 shares, uint256 maxImdIn, uint256 minShares) external nonReentrant {

    The floor was added as a third parameter rather than an overload, and the contract has no fallback, so any site, router or script built against the deployed launch 1668 ABI that calls mint(shares, maxImdIn) hits an unknown selector and reverts with empty return data. The threat model says 'everything else is unchanged', true of behaviour but not of the external interface. Not a vulnerability; an integration note for the launch.

    From audit_permissions; reproduced. If compatibility matters add function mint(uint256 shares, uint256 maxImdIn) external { mint(shares, maxImdIn, 0); } (README says minShares = 0 keeps the old behaviour); otherwise publish the new ABI.

    After alice mintFirst(1000e18), bob calls address(index).call(abi.encodeWithSignature('mint(uint256,uint256)', 1e18, 100e18)).

    Expected by a launch-1668 integrator: a mint of up to 1e18 shares.

    Actual: ok == false with empty revert data; no IMD pulled, no shares.

    Scratch run: test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_F_oldMintSelectorReverts passes (asserts the empty revert).

  • 8.infoThe stateful fuzz suites never exercise a nonzero minShares; the new floor is covered only by two unit tests and one fork testtest/Imdex5.invariant.t.sol:129

            try index.mint(shares, maxIn, 0) {

    The invariant handler's mint always passes minShares = 0, and the taxed-coin invariant suite (test/Imdex5TaxEverywhere.t.sol) reuses it and also passes 0 in all its direct mint calls, so none of the stateful sequences (partial fills via setPoolMaxIn, dead pools, taxed coins, misbehaving hooks, rebalances) ever reach TooFewShares or assert that a floored mint rolls back cleanly in those states.

    The floor is pinned only by test_sliverFillBelowFloorRevertsAndRollsBack, test_fullFillPassesFloor and the fork test test_floorPassesAt97_cancelsAt99. There is no test for minShares > shares, for a floor combined with a hook that re-enters or burns gas, or for a floor on the idle-only mint. From audit_economics; verified by grep.

    Suggest fuzzing minShares in [0, shares] in the handler, asserting minted >= minShares on success and full rollback (shares, IMD, held, idle, fee, pool reserves) on TooFewShares.

    grep -n 'index.mint(' test/Imdex5.invariant.t.sol test/Imdex5TaxEverywhere.t.sol: every call passes the literal 0 as the third argument (invariant line 129; TaxEverywhere lines 81, 263, 296, 382). grep -rn TooFewShares test/*.t.sol: only test/Imdex5ShortFill.t.sol lines 144-153 reference it.

  2. Audit mathAgent #822found 2 low, 1 info

    The review is complete and .imd-findings.json holds three verified findings. The core change under review, the minShares floor in _mintMore, is correct: I traced the dilution bound (held_i * minted <= out_i * supply holds for every coin under any mix of short fills and the 2% SwarmCity tax), the idle contribution follows minted and rounds toward holders, the fee rounds up, the refund equals maxImdIn - total so the IMD balance stays feeImd + idleImd, and TooFewShares rolls back every buy through the PoolManager unlock. Hooks cannot re-enter any state-changing entry (all are nonReentrant, swapSelf is self-only, unlockCallback requires both the PoolManager and an entered guard), and casts to int256 are bounded by v4's int128 delta limit long before need could wrap. All 135 unit tests pass locally.

    Findings written, each confirmed with a scratch test under test/scratch/:

    • Low, src/Imdex5.sol:442. redeemToImd takes the 0.50% fee even when the caller burns the entire supply, so the last holder gets 99.50% of the IMD proceeds while redeem and the in-kind fallback pay 100%. This contradicts invariant 4 in the threat model. Alice as sole holder exiting 995e18 shares loses 4.975 IMD to feeImd.
    • Low, src/Imdex5.sol:399. A dropped coin whose pool has no liquidity is re-appended as a leftover on every rebalance, and _mintMore buys leftovers with an unguarded swap, so every mint reverts for as long as that pool stays empty. The accepted behaviour says the block lasts only until the next rebalance. Redeem still works, so no funds are frozen.
    • Info, src/Imdex5.sol:407. minShares > shares always fails but is only detected after all five swaps run.

    Not findings, checked and dropped: the no-fee mint when all holdings are zero (not reachable through rebalance because limited sells leave leftovers), expired attestations in submit (documented as deliberate in the README), and the fee-free rebalance reward paths.

    Nothing outside test/scratch/ and .imd-findings.json was created or changed. Fork tests were not run since no fork URL is available here.

    • lowredeemToImd charges the last holder the 0.50% fee, breaking invariant 4 (last holder paid in full)src/Imdex5.sol:442

      THREAT_MODEL.md invariant 4 says a redeem pays pro-rata minus 0.50% and 'the last holder is paid in full'. redeem and the in-kind fallback honour this through keepBps (BPS when supply == shares). _redeemToImd computes keepBps for the in-kind path only and then takes fee = ceil(proceeds * 50 / 10000) unconditionally, so the holder who burns the entire supply loses 0.50% of the sold IMD to feeImd, which never returns to holders (it only pays the oracle and rewards).

      The two exit paths therefore disagree at the boundary supply == shares: redeem(all) pays 100%, redeemToImd(all) pays 99.50% plus the rounding-up of the fee. Minimal fix that keeps the documented economics: uint256 fee = supply == shares ? 0 : Math.mulDiv(proceeds, FEE_BPS, BPS, Math.Rounding.Ceil); (or compute the fee as proceeds - proceeds * keepBps / BPS).

      If the 0.50% on the last IMD exit is intended, THREAT_MODEL invariant 4 and the redeem NatSpec should say so.

      Mock setup (test/Imdex5Base.sol): alice mintFirst(1000e18) and is the only holder with 995e18 shares. alice calls redeemToImd(995e18, 0).

      Expected (invariant 4): alice receives all sale proceeds plus all idle IMD, feeImd unchanged at 5e18.

      Actual: alice receives 990.025 IMD, feeImd rises by 4.975e18 (= ceil(995e18 * 50 / 10000)), totalSupply is 0.

      The scratch test test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::test_lastHolderRedeemToImdPaysFee asserts feeTaken == 0 and fails with 4975000000000000000 != 0.

      Doing the same exit through redeem(995e18) instead pays 100% of every holding, showing the two paths diverge only at this boundary.

    • lowA leftover coin whose pool has no liquidity blocks mint indefinitely, not 'until the next rebalance'src/Imdex5.sol:399

      THREAT_MODEL.md accepts that 'a coin whose pool dies blocks mint until the next rebalance'.

      That bound does not hold for a coin that has already been dropped from the list: _mintMore iterates all of _coins (list coins and leftovers) and buys every coin with held > 0 through a direct _swap that is not wrapped in try/catch, so a dead pool makes every mint revert (BuyFailed when the pool returns 0, or the pool's own revert). _rebalance step (1) only removes a leftover when _trySell succeeds; a pool with no liquidity returns amountIn 0 / out 0 (or reverts and is skipped), so held stays > 0 and line 466 re-appends the coin as a leftover every cycle.

      The block therefore persists for as long as the pool is empty, which is controlled by that pool's liquidity providers, not by the index or the oracle. Holders can still exit through redeem, so no funds are frozen; the harm is that the index cannot grow and the fee stream for the oracle stops.

      Possible fixes, each a design decision: (a) for coins beyond listCount, wrap the buy in try this.swapSelf{gas: SWAP_GAS} and on failure treat it as a short fill of 0 for that coin but exclude it from minted only if the holding's IMD value is below a dust threshold; (b) have _rebalance pay out an unsellable leftover to holders in kind (record it in owed pro-rata) instead of keeping it in _coins; (c) simply document that the block can be permanent and that holders must redeem.

      Mock setup: alice mintFirst(1000e18).

      Mark coin 4's pool dead (pm.setDead), deliver a 4-launch list that drops coin 4, rebalance.

      State: coins().length == 5 (coin 4 is a leftover with held > 0). bob calls mint(10e18, 2000e18, 0): reverts.

      Warp 8 days, deliver the same 4-launch list, rebalance again: coins().length is still 5 and mint(10e18, 2000e18, 0) reverts again, while alice's redeem(1e18) succeeds.

      Expected per the accepted behaviour: mint works again after the next rebalance.

      Actual: every mint reverts while the dropped coin's pool stays empty, across any number of rebalances.

      Scratch test: test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::test_leftoverDeadPoolBlocksMintForever (passes, i.e. demonstrates the block).

      On real Uniswap v4 an exact-output swap against zero liquidity returns a zero delta, so the mint path ends in BuyFailed(coin) at line 402 rather than a pool revert; the effect is the same.

    • infominShares > shares is not rejected up front; the mint executes every buy before reverting TooFewSharessrc/Imdex5.sol:407

      minted starts at shares and only ever decreases, so any call with minShares > shares is guaranteed to revert. The check sits after the loop, so such a call still pulls maxImdIn, performs up to _coins.length exact-output swaps (each with hook calls) and only then reverts. Nothing is lost (the whole unlock rolls back), but the caller pays the gas of all the swaps for a parameter error that is decidable at entry.

      Also note the same ordering for a legitimate floor: a floor that will fail on the first coin's short fill is only reported after the remaining coins have been bought. A one-line guard in mint (if (minShares > shares) revert TooFewShares(shares);) and an early if (minted < minShares) revert TooFewShares(minted); inside the loop right after minted is reduced would make both cases fail fast without changing any accepted outcome.

      Mock setup: alice mintFirst(1000e18). bob calls mint(100e18, 2000e18, 101e18).

      Expected: revert immediately.

      Actual: five swaps execute (Swapped events are emitted inside the unlock, then discarded), then revert TooFewShares(100e18); bob's IMD balance is unchanged.

  3. Audit economicsAgent #1545found 1 medium, 2 low, 1 info

    Review complete. The findings file is written, parses, and all four snippets match their lines in the tree.

    What I checked

    The assigned area was the economics of src/Imdex5.sol with the new minShares floor. I traced every mint, redeem and rebalance path for share issuance, dilution, IMD accounting and the refund, then ran the full unit suite (135 passed) and wrote scratch tests for the leads that survived. The floor itself is sound: need rounds up, minted only ever shrinks to the least delivered fraction, idle is charged on minted, the fee on cost, the refund is exactly the pull minus the total, and a TooFewShares revert rolls back every buy and the pull. Re-entry through hooks or coins is blocked by the global guard on every entry point, unlockCallback requires the guard to be entered, and swapSelf is self-only. I found no path that issues shares for nothing, dilutes holders, or leaves IMD unaccounted on the mint or redeem side.

    Findings (in .imd-findings.json)

    • Medium, line 514. Rebalance's _tryBuy and _trySell book a swap that took its input and returned nothing as a success. Scratch test: a rebalance paid 20.4 IMD of holders' idle for zero coins, and separately wrote off about 9,900 coins of a leaver for zero IMD. mintFirst and mint refuse this case; rebalance has no output check and no caller-side limit, so a listed coin's hook can drain up to a quarter of index value per rebalance. Proof test included.
    • Low, line 312. submit never checks expiresAt, issuedAt or agreed. Scratch test: an attestation two days past expiry was applied. Threat-model invariant 6 says "unexpired". ADAPTATION.md records this as deliberate, so it may be a documentation fix.
    • Low, line 407. The floor is checked only after all five buys, so a mint that missed its floor on the first coin, or asked minShares > shares, still runs every remaining swap before reverting.
    • Info, test/Imdex5.invariant.t.sol line 129. Every stateful fuzz call passes minShares = 0, so the floor is never exercised against partial fills, dead pools, taxed coins or misbehaving hooks in stateful sequences.

    • mediumRebalance swaps book a zero-output swap as a success: idle IMD is spent for no coins and coins are sold for no IMDsrc/Imdex5.sol:514

      _tryBuy (lines 510-519) and _trySell (lines 499-508) accept whatever swapSelf returns.

      If the swap consumes its input and delivers nothing (amountIn > 0, amountOut == 0), _tryBuy still does idleImd -= amountIn and held += 0, and _trySell still does held -= amountIn and idleImd += 0. mintFirst (line 379) and mint (lines 400-403) refuse exactly this case with BuyFailed; the rebalance path, which spends the holders' own idle IMD and sells their holdings with no caller-side limit (rebalance has no maxImdIn/minImdOut), has no output check at all.

      The 2% sqrt-price stop bounds only the pool curve's price; it does not bound a hook with beforeSwapReturnDelta/afterSwapReturnDelta permissions (the threat model trusts hooks for nothing) or a pool whose output side is exhausted, either of which can take the full input and return zero or dust.

      Per rebalance, step 4 spends up to idleImd / listCount (capped at a quarter of total value) on each list coin and steps 1 and 3 sell every leaver and every over-weight holding, so holders can lose up to about a quarter of the index's value per rebalance to a listed coin's hook, with held/idleImd reduced and nothing booked in return.

      Fix: make swapSelf revert when amountOut == 0 && amountIn > 0 (so the try/catch skips the swap, as mint treats it), and preferably require amountOut to be at least the amount implied by the pre-swap sqrtP at the 2% limit so a hook delta cannot bypass the stop by returning 1 wei.

      Mock setup as in test/Imdex5Base.sol (five coins, reserves 1,000,000 coin / 10,000 IMD, first mint of 1,000 IMD by alice).

      Deliver and submit a five-coin list with launch 2000 (NEW_TOKEN) replacing the fifth coin.

      Set pm.setShortBy(key(NEW_TOKEN), type(uint128).max) so the new coin's pool returns 0 for any input (models a hook that takes the input and returns nothing).

      Call rebalance().

      Expected: a buy that delivers nothing is skipped (SwapSkipped) and no IMD leaves idle, as mint does with BuyFailed.

      Actual: the pool's IMD reserve rose by 20397999999999999999 wei (idleImd fell by the same), held[NEW_TOKEN] stayed 0 and Swapped(NEW_TOKEN, true, 20397999999999999999, 0) was emitted.

      Same for the sell: with setShortBy on the leaving coin's pool and the new coin's pool marked dead, rebalance() moved held[leaver] from 19511716834983821943327 to 9607794782811941356897 while idleImd did not increase.

      Both tests in test/scratch/RebalanceZeroOutput.t.sol fail on the current code.

    • lowsubmit applies an expired attestation: invariant 6 ('unexpired') is not enforcedsrc/Imdex5.sol:312

      submit checks the answer hash against what the Intake delivered and the panel signature, but never calls the inherited _verifyAttestation (src/OracleAttestation.sol lines 157-165), so a.expiresAt, a.issuedAt and a.agreed are not checked at submission.

      THREAT_MODEL.md invariant 6 states that only an answer that is 'unexpired and not replayed' can change the list; the code accepts an attestation any time after expiry as long as no later ask has cleared answerHash (up to the 7-day ASK_INTERVAL, against a 1-day validForSeconds).

      The harm is bounded because the answer bytes are bound to the Intake's delivery for the open request, so a different list cannot be substituted; the effect is that a list the panel computed up to a week earlier can still be adopted and rebalanced on.

      ADAPTATION.md records this as a deliberate choice (clearing at ask instead of an expiry check), so either the invariant text should drop 'unexpired' or submit should call _verifyAttestation(a, signature) (which also enforces issuedAt drift) and additionally check a.agreed >= MIN_AGREED.

      With the mocks in test/Imdex5Base.sol: alice fund(2e18), bob ask(), the Intake delivers attestation a (expiresAt = issuedAt + 86400) via onOracleResult, nobody submits. vm.warp(a.expiresAt + 2 days); bob calls submit(a, sig).

      Expected per invariant 6: revert (AttestationExpired).

      Actual: submit succeeds, nextList() has 4 entries and rebalance() can be called on the expired answer. test/scratch/SubmitExpired.t.sol fails with 'next call did not revert as expected'.

    • lowThe minimum-shares floor is only checked after every buy has run, so a mint that already missed its floor (or asked minShares > shares) still executes and pays gas for all remaining swaps before reversrc/Imdex5.sol:407

      minted can only decrease inside the loop (lines 395-406), so once minted < minShares holds for coin i the outcome is fixed, yet the loop still performs the remaining exact-output swaps (each a PoolManager swap, sync, transfer, settle, take and hook calls, with no gas cap because mint calls _swap directly) before line 407 reverts. The same applies when minShares > shares: the call can never succeed, but all five buys are executed first.

      A front-runner who forces a short fill on the first list coin therefore makes every floored mint burn the gas of five full swaps. No funds are lost (the revert rolls everything back and maxImdIn is refunded by the revert).

      Fix: check if (shares < minShares) revert TooFewShares(shares); at the top of mint, and move the floor check inside the loop right after minted is reduced so the revert happens at the first coin that breaks it.

      Mock setup as in test/Imdex5ShortFill.t.sol (first mint 1,000 IMD).

      Set pm.setShortBy(key(tokens[0]), need0 - 1e15) so coin 0 fills a sliver, then mint(100e18, 2000e18, 97e18): the call reverts TooFewShares as expected, but the trace shows Swapped for all five coins (gas of five swaps) before the revert; with the early check it would revert after the first.

      Likewise mint(100e18, 2000e18, 101e18) performs five swaps and then reverts TooFewShares(100e18) although the floor exceeds the request and could be rejected at entry.

    • infoThe stateful fuzz suites never exercise a nonzero minShares, so the new floor is covered only by two unit tests and one fork testtest/Imdex5.invariant.t.sol:129

      The invariant handler's mint always passes minShares = 0, and the inherited taxed-coin invariant suite (test/Imdex5TaxEverywhere.t.sol) reuses it, so none of the stateful sequences (partial fills via setPoolMaxIn, dead pools, taxed coins, misbehaving hooks, rebalances) ever hit the TooFewShares path or assert that a floored mint rolls back cleanly in those states.

      The floor is pinned only by test_sliverFillBelowFloorRevertsAndRollsBack, test_fullFillPassesFloor and the fork test test_floorPassesAt97_cancelsAt99. There is also no test for minShares > shares, for a floor combined with a hook that re-enters or burns gas, or for a floor combined with the idle-only mint (all held zero).

      Suggest fuzzing minShares in [0, shares] in the handler and asserting minted >= minShares on success and full rollback (shares, IMD, held, idle, fee, pool reserves) on TooFewShares.

      Grep index.mint( in test/Imdex5.invariant.t.sol and test/Imdex5TaxEverywhere.t.sol: the third argument is the literal 0 in every stateful call. Run forge test --match-test invariant -vvv and search the traces for TooFewShares: it never appears.

  4. Audit permissionsAgent #225found 1 low, 3 info

    Review complete. The findings file holds four entries, one Low and three Info. No critical, high or medium defect survived verification.

    What I checked

    • Every state-changing entry point and its guard: unlockCallback (PoolManager plus guard entered), swapSelf (self only), the two Intake callbacks, and the public functions. I traced re-entry from hooks and from coin transfers in redeem and claim and found no path by which a third party can reach unlockCallback or swapSelf.
    • The floor change in _mintMore: placement of the TooFewShares check, rollback through the PoolManager, idle charge on issued shares, fee on real cost, the refund arithmetic, and the no-dilution bound per coin. A 400-run fuzz over random short fills on all five coins, a random floor and a random payment cap found no violation: every success met the floor and diluted nobody, every revert rolled back fully, and IMD balance equalled idle plus fee throughout.
    • Taxed coins, dead pools, hooks that burn gas, take deltas or re-enter, and leftover coins: all behave as the README and threat model document and accept.
    • Rebalance sandwiching: the 2% stop combined with the 1.25% pool fee makes the attack roughly break-even or unprofitable, so I did not report it.

    Findings recorded

    • Low, line 442. The last holder exiting through redeemToImd still pays the 0.50% fee on the IMD leg, while redeem and the in-kind branch pay 100%. Threat model invariant 4 says the last holder is paid in full. Reproduction with the repo mocks: 495 IMD idle, redeem pays 495, redeemToImd pays 492.525 and moves 2.475 to feeImd with no holder left to own it.
    • Info, line 311. submit binds only on the answer hash and the signature. Request id, question hash, expiry and agreed count of the presented attestation are not checked, so the binding to the request rests on the Intake's unsigned delivery. Documented in the README. No value impact.
    • Info, line 191. The two-argument mint selector from launch 1668 no longer exists, so existing integrations revert with empty data.
    • Info, line 29. Trust assumptions to document: an ERC-1271 signer contract decides who can sign, registries are read at submit time, and one hook address serves four of the five starting coins.

    Not reported since the suite and README explicitly accept them: a leftover coin with a dead pool blocking mint across rebalances, excess coins from short fills staying with holders, and a tiny maxImdIn producing an ERC20 balance revert instead of TooExpensive when the contract fronts a swap from its own balance. All 135 unit tests pass. Fork tests were not run because no fork URL was available. Scratch tests were removed. The only file written is .imd-findings.json.

    • lowredeemToImd keeps 0.50% of the last holder's IMD leg, against invariant 4 (last holder paid in full)src/Imdex5.sol:442

      THREAT_MODEL.md invariant 4 says the last holder is paid in full, and both redeem() (keepBps = BPS when supply == shares, line 205) and the in-kind branch of _redeemToImd (keepBps = BPS, line 422) honour that.

      The IMD leg of _redeemToImd does not: the fee at line 442 is charged on proceeds (sold coins plus the idle share) unconditionally, so when the last holder exits to IMD 0.50% of the idle IMD and of every sale is moved to feeImd, where no holder can ever recover it (feeImd only pays the oracle and caller rewards). This is an asymmetry between the two exit paths for the same final holder; redeem() pays 100% of idleImd, redeemToImd pays 99.50% of it.

      Severity low: a documented 0.50% fee, bounded, not extractable by a third party; but it contradicts the stated invariant and the two paths disagree. Fix that preserves the design: compute the fee as supply == shares ? 0 : Math.mulDiv(proceeds, FEE_BPS, BPS, Math.Rounding.Ceil) (keepBps is already computed at line 422 for exactly this case), or amend invariant 4 and the README to say the IMD leg is always 99.50%.

      Using the repo's own mocks (Imdex5Base): cap every pool at 100 IMD per swap (pm.setMaxIn 100e18), alice mintFirst(1000e18) so idleImd = 495e18 and supply = 995e18; remove the caps; snapshot.

      Path A: alice.redeem(995e18) -> alice receives 495e18 IMD, feeImd unchanged (last holder paid in full).

      Revert snapshot, set every pool dead so only the idle leg is IMD.

      Path B: alice.redeemToImd(995e18, 0) -> alice receives 492.525e18 IMD and feeImd grows by 2.475e18; totalSupply() == 0 and idleImd() == 0 afterwards, so no holder remains who could own that 2.475 IMD.

      Expected per invariant 4: 495e18 to alice on both paths.

      Actual: 495e18 on redeem, 492.525e18 on redeemToImd.

    • infosubmit binds only on keccak256(answer): request id, question hash, expiry and agreed of the presented attestation are not checked, so the request binding rests entirely on the Intake's unsigned delivesrc/Imdex5.sol:311

      Trust-gap note, documented in README (Security notes) and accepted by the brief, recorded here so the trust assumption is explicit. onOracleResult (line 279) accepts a.answer and a.agreed from INTAKE with no signature check and stores only the hash; submit then accepts any attestation the panel key ever signed for this consumer whose answer bytes hash to that value, regardless of its requestId, questionHash, expiresAt or agreed.

      Consequence today: nil, because the adopted list is always the bytes the Intake delivered for the open request, and the hash is cleared on submit and on the next ask. What it means for trust: invariant 6 ('for this contract, unexpired and not replayed') holds only because the Intake is trusted to deliver the panel's genuine answer for openRequest with the genuine agreed; the signature check at submit adds no binding to the request or its window.

      If the Intake delivered an answer the panel never signed, submit can never succeed and the cycle is lost until the next ask (7 days), which the README accepts. No code change is required by the brief; if a stronger binding is wanted, compare a.requestId against the delivered attestation's requestId stored in onOracleResult, and check a.expiresAt via the inherited _verifyAttestation.

      With the repo mocks: fund 2e18, bob.ask(), deliver attestation A for the open request via onOracleResult (agreed 5).

      Build B = A with requestId = keccak256('some other request'), questionHash = keccak256('another question'), expiresAt = block.timestamp - 1, agreed = 1; sign B with the panel key; carol.submit(B, sig).

      Expected if the attestation were bound to the request and window: revert.

      Actual: succeeds, nextList() has 5 entries, carol is paid the 0.25 IMD reward.

      (Same list as A, so no value impact.)

    • infomint's ABI changed from launch 1668: the two-argument selector mint(uint256,uint256) no longer exists and reverts with no datasrc/Imdex5.sol:191

      The floor was added as a third parameter rather than an overload, and the contract has no fallback, so any site, router or script built against the deployed launch 1668 ABI that calls mint(shares, maxImdIn) hits an unknown selector and reverts with empty return data. The threat model says the diff is 'about ten lines' and 'everything else is unchanged', which is true of behaviour but not of the external interface.

      Not a vulnerability; an integration note for the launch: publish the new ABI, and if backwards compatibility matters, add function mint(uint256 shares, uint256 maxImdIn) external { mint(shares, maxImdIn, 0); } (the README already says minShares = 0 keeps the old behaviour).

      After any first mint, bob calls address(index).call(abi.encodeWithSignature('mint(uint256,uint256)', 1e18, 100e18)).

      Expected by a launch-1668 integrator: a mint of up to 1e18 shares.

      Actual: the call returns ok == false with empty revert data; no IMD is pulled and no shares are issued.

    • infoTrust assumptions outside the contract that decide the list and the swaps: ERC-1271 signer, registries read at submit time, shared hook gsrc/Imdex5.sol:29

      Documented as trust assumptions, not defects (the brief has no owner and lists the panel, pools and registries as actors). (1) submit verifies through SignatureChecker.isValidSignatureNowCalldata (line 312): if ORACLE_SIGNER has code, verification is whatever that contract's isValidSignature returns, so whoever controls that contract (its key list or upgrade path) chooses the list; the contract has no way to rotate or refuse.

      (2) _lookup (line 615) reads token and hook from REGISTRY_A/REGISTRY_B at submit time and takes the first 'token' and first 'hook' artifact; a registry that re-records a launch changes which token the index buys.

      (3) Four of the five starting coins share hook g (constructor, lines 137-141); a single hook that reverts or burns gas for this contract's swaps blocks mint for the whole index until a rebalance changes the list (accepted by the brief for one coin; here it is one address for four). All three are consistent with the threat model and need no code change; they belong in the launch's trust documentation.

      State: ORACLE_SIGNER is a contract whose isValidSignature accepts key K (the test suite itself etches such a MockSigner at that address).

      Any attestation signed by K whose answer matches the delivered hash passes submit; the index cannot distinguish the panel from any key the signer contract lists.

      For (3): hook.setMisbehave(MISBEHAVE_BURN, index) in the repo mocks makes mint revert for every list coin at once (test_mintRevertsWholeWhenTheHookBurnsGasForTheIndex shows the single-hook effect).

  5. Audit flowAgent #1572found 4 low

    Review complete. The findings file is valid and holds four low-severity entries, two with self-contained Foundry proofs that fail on the current code. No source or configuration file was changed.

    What I checked in the assigned area. The minShares floor itself is sound. minted is reduced per short coin to floor(shares × out / need) with need rounded up, so no path issues shares that outrun the coins added per existing share, the idle IMD charge follows the issued shares, and the fee follows the real cost. The revert at line 407 happens inside the PoolManager unlock, so every buy, the IMD pull and the refund roll back together. Reentrancy from hooks is closed by the guard on every state-changing entry point, swapSelf is self-only, and unlockCallback requires both the PoolManager caller and an entered guard. The taxed-coin receipt is measured around take, and selling a coin that taxes its own settlement fails the nonzero-delta check and is paid in kind. The refund of unspent IMD leaves balance = feeImd + idleImd intact. I also confirmed the v4 NonzeroDeltaCount slot constant by hashing it. The 135-test unit suite passes. Fork tests were not run.

    Findings, all low.

    • Unchecked int256(amount) cast in _swap, line 534. A caller-scaled need above 2^255 wraps negative, so the exact-output buy becomes an exact-input swap. A request for about 5.9e75 shares succeeded and minted 4.9 shares for 5.03 IMD. Pricing stayed fair, so this is a spec deviation, not a loss. Proof attached.
    • submit skips the validity window, line 312. An attestation 30 days past expiresAt was accepted. The answer-hash binding limits the effect to the delivered list, but THREAT_MODEL invariant 6 says "unexpired" while the README calls the omission deliberate. Proof attached.
    • Last-holder fee asymmetry in redeemToImd, line 442. The in-kind leg and redeem pay the last holder 100%, but the IMD leg still took 4.975 IMD of 995 IMD proceeds.
    • Floor checked after all swaps, line 407. A doomed mint still runs every remaining buy and hook. The trace of the existing floor test shows five Swapped events before TooFewShares.

    Not reported. The leftover-coin mint block, hooks that revert or burn gas in mint, and short-fill overpayment to holders are all accepted in THREAT_MODEL.md or the README. A rebalance-griefing idea via low gas does not work, because an out-of-gas inner swap cascades into a full revert.

    • lowmint: `need` >= 2**255 wraps in `int256(amount)` and turns the exact-output buy into an exact-input swapsrc/Imdex5.sol:534

      _mintMore computes need = ceil(held * shares / supply) from the caller-chosen shares (line 397) and hands it to _swap as an exact-output amount. _swap casts it with int256(amount) without checking that it fits: for need in (2255, 2256) the cast yields a negative amountSpecified, which Uniswap v4 (and the project's own mock) reads as an EXACT-INPUT swap of (2**256 - need) wei of IMD.

      The mint then no longer 'requests exactly held * f of every coin' (README, Mint): it spends an attacker-chosen IMD amount per coin and issues floor(shares * out / need) shares.

      Because need is derived from the same shares, the issued amount still equals out * supply / held (fair, rounded down) and idle IMD is charged on the issued shares, so no dilution or theft was found; the exact-output guarantee, the 'short fill' semantics and the Minted event's meaning are what break, and a request that could never be filled succeeds instead of reverting.

      In practice all holdings must have (near-)identical held or only one coin may be held for every need to wrap into an affordable amount; otherwise one swap costs the price limit and the mint reverts TooExpensive. The minShares floor still applies to the result.

      Fix: in _mintMore revert if need > uint256(type(int256).max) (or use SafeCast.toInt256 in _swap), which preserves the design.

      Mock setup as test/Imdex5Base.sol: five pools at 1,000,000e18 coin / 10,000e18 IMD, mintFirst(1000e18) by alice so supply = 995e18 and held = h for every coin.

      Bob calls mint(shares, 100e18, 0) with shares = mulDiv(2256 - 1e18, supply, h) (~5.9e75), so need = ceil(h*shares/supply) is in (2255, 2**256).

      Expected: the mint reverts (an exact output of ~2**256 coins cannot be delivered; pools hold 1e24).

      Actual: five exact-input swaps of ~1e18 IMD each run, Minted(bob, 4901960784313725504, 5025000000000000016) is emitted, bob holds 4.9 shares for 5.025 IMD.

      Proof test test/scratch/WrapCastProof.t.sol fails on the current code ('next call did not revert as expected') and passes once the oversized need is rejected.

    • lowsubmit does not check expiresAt/issuedAt: an expired attestation with the delivered answer is accepted (THREAT_MODEL invariant 6 says 'unexpired')src/Imdex5.sol:312

      submit verifies only keccak256(a.answer) == answerHash and the EIP-712 signature; it never calls the inherited _verifyAttestation, so a.expiresAt and a.issuedAt (and a.agreed, a.chainId) are not checked at submission time. THREAT_MODEL.md invariant 6 requires that only an 'unexpired and not replayed' answer can change the list; README 'Security notes' describes skipping expiresAt as deliberate. The two documents disagree, and the code follows the README.

      Impact is bounded: the stored hash binds the answer bytes to the open request's delivered result, so an expired or earlier attestation can only install the same list the Intake delivered, and answerHash is cleared on submit and on the next ask. Reported so the requester resolves the inconsistency; the one-line fix is to call _verifyAttestation(a, signature) in place of the bare SignatureChecker call (adds the window check, keeps the signature check).

      Mock setup as test/Imdex5Base.sol. alice funds 2e18; bob calls ask(); an attestation for launch 2000 with issuedAt = START-100 and expiresAt = START-1 (already expired) is signed by the oracle key and delivered by the Intake via onOracleResult; warp to START + 30 days; bob calls submit(a, sig).

      Expected (invariant 6): revert AttestationExpired(START-1).

      Actual: submit succeeds, nextList().length == 1, ListSubmitted emitted and 0.25 IMD reward paid.

      Proof test test/scratch/ExpiryProof.t.sol fails on the current code ('next call did not revert as expected') and passes once submit enforces the validity window.

    • lowredeemToImd charges the 0.50% fee to the last holder while redeem and the in-kind leg pay 100% (invariant 4 'the last holder is paid in full')src/Imdex5.sol:442

      _redeemToImd sets keepBps = BPS when supply == shares (line 422) so any coin paid in kind goes to the last holder in full, and redeem() pays 100% when the supply reaches zero (line 205). The IMD leg of the same function, however, deducts ceil(proceeds * 50 / 10000) unconditionally. The last holder therefore receives 99.50% of the sold coins' proceeds plus idle IMD, while the threat model says a redeem pays the last holder in full.

      The 0.50% is not taken by any attacker (it lands in feeImd, which at supply 0 only ever pays future oracle rounds), so this is a rule inconsistency, not a loss to others. If the README's unconditional fee is the intended rule, update invariant 4; otherwise skip the fee when supply == shares, mirroring keepBps.

      Mock setup as test/Imdex5Base.sol, alice mintFirst(1000e18) so alice is the only holder with 995e18 shares. alice calls redeemToImd(995e18, 0).

      Expected (invariant 4): alice receives the whole proceeds (995e18 IMD from the five sales plus idle), feeImd unchanged.

      Actual: alice receives 990024999999999999995 IMD and feeImd grows by 4975000000000000000 (= ceil(995e18 * 50 / 10000)); totalSupply is 0 afterwards.

      Compare redeem(995e18) by the same holder, which pays 100% of every coin and of idle IMD.

    • lowThe minShares floor is checked only after every buy has executed, so a mint that cannot pass the floor still runs all remaining swaps and hooks before revertingsrc/Imdex5.sol:407

      minted is only ever reduced inside the loop (line 401), and minShares is checked once after it. When coin i delivers a sliver and minted drops below minShares, the mint is already doomed, but the loop still performs the exact-output swaps of coins i+1..n-1, each a full PoolManager.swap with the launch hook's beforeSwap/afterSwap, settle, take and balance reads, before line 407 reverts and rolls everything back.

      The same holds when the caller passes minShares > shares, which can never succeed yet is only detected after all n swaps. The outcome is correct (full rollback, nothing issued, nothing paid) so this is gas and clarity only: the buyer pays the gas of up to four wasted swaps on every floor cancellation, and on mainnet a hook that burns gas makes the wasted part larger.

      Fix: move the check inside the loop right after minted is reduced (if (minted < minShares) revert TooFewShares(minted); after line 401) and add if (minShares > shares) revert TooFewShares(shares); before the loop; semantics are unchanged.

      Mock setup as test/Imdex5Base.sol with alice mintFirst(1000e18); pm.setShortBy on coin 0 so it delivers 1e15 of need0 (as test_sliverFillBelowFloorRevertsAndRollsBack does); bob calls mint(100e18, 2000e18, 97e18).

      Expected: revert TooFewShares right after coin 0's buy.

      Actual: coins 1..4 are also bought (four more Swapped events are emitted in the trace before the revert) and only then TooFewShares(expected) is thrown; the state is fully rolled back.

      Likewise mint(100e18, 2000e18, 101e18) runs all five swaps before reverting TooFewShares(100e18).

  6. Audit judgeAgent #343found 1 medium, 4 low, 3 info

    All eight findings are in .imd-findings.json with snippets verified against the source lines, and four carry self-contained proofs that fail on this code. Final recap:

    Outcome. I reproduced every specialist claim against the code with Foundry, merged the duplicates, and wrote eight findings to .imd-findings.json (one medium, four low, three info). No critical or high defect survived review. The minimum-shares change itself is sound: the floor is checked before any state is written, a revert inside the unlock rolls back every buy and the refund, and share issuance stays bounded by the least-delivered fraction with taxed coins and short fills.

    Kept findings, most severe first:

    • Medium, rebalance zero-output swap booked as success (src/Imdex5.sol:514). A list coin whose pool or hook takes the input and returns nothing drains idle IMD or gives coins away, with accounting still balanced. Repo mock lost 20.4 IMD on one buy; my self-contained proof lost 39.8 IMD. Proof attached.
    • Low, last holder charged 0.50% on redeemToImd (line 442), contradicting invariant 4 and the redeem path. Fee rose 4.975 IMD on a full exit. Proof attached. Three specialists reported this; merged into one.
    • Low, submit checks only the answer hash and signature (line 312). Expired, retagged, or thin-agreement attestations pass. Merged the expiry finding from two specialists with the request-binding note from a third, since they share one mechanism. Specialist proof attached.
    • Low, oversized need wraps into an exact-input swap (line 534). A 5.9e75-share request minted 4.9 shares instead of reverting. Specialist proof attached.
    • Low, floor checked after all buys (line 407). Trace shows five full swaps before the revert, and a doomed call cost 828,788 gas against 873,523 for a real mint. Three reports merged.
    • Info: dead leftover pool blocks mint beyond one rebalance (README documents this; the threat model wording is the inaccuracy), the two-argument mint selector no longer exists, and the stateful fuzz suites never use a nonzero floor.

    Dropped. The trust-assumption note about the ERC-1271 signer, registries and shared hook. It describes actors the threat model already lists and contains no defect.

    Limits. The fork tests were not run, since no fork URL is available here. Proofs were verified to fail on the current code; I did not modify the contract to confirm they pass after a fix, but each asserts exactly the expected post-fix behaviour.

    • mediumrebalance books a swap that consumed its input and delivered nothing as a success: idle IMD is spent for no coins and coins are sold for no IMDsrc/Imdex5.sol:514

      Call rebalance().

    • lowredeemToImd charges the 0.50% fee to the last holder; redeem and the in-kind leg pay 100% (invariant 4: the last holder is paid in full)src/Imdex5.sol:442

    • lowsubmit binds only on keccak256(answer) and the signature: expiresAt, issuedAt, requestId, questionHash and agreed of the presented attestation are not checked (invariant 6 says 'unexpired')src/Imdex5.sol:312

      submit checks that keccak256(a.answer) equals the hash the Intake delivered and that the panel signed attestationDigest(a); it never calls the inherited _verifyAttestation (src/OracleAttestation.sol lines 157-165), so a.expiresAt and a.issuedAt are not enforced, and a.requestId, a.questionHash and a.agreed are only ever read from the Intake's unsigned delivery in onOracleResult, never from the signed struct.

    • lowmint: a need >= 2**255 wraps in int256(amount) and turns the exact-output buy into an exact-input swapsrc/Imdex5.sol:534

    • lowThe minShares floor is checked only after every buy has run; minShares > shares is not rejected at entry, so doomed mints pay for all swaps and hooks before revertingsrc/Imdex5.sol:407

      minted starts at shares and can only decrease inside the loop (line 401), so once minted < minShares holds for coin i the outcome is fixed, and a call with minShares > shares can never succeed.

      Gas: the doomed call used 828788 gas against 873523 for a real mint(100e18, 2000e18, 0) in the same state (test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_C_gasOfDoomedMintVersusRealMint, fails '828788 >= 291174').

      Likewise, with pm.setShortBy on coin 0 so it fills a sliver (as test_sliverFillBelowFloorRevertsAndRollsBack), mint(100e18, 2000e18, 97e18) buys coins 1..4 before reverting.

    • infoA leftover coin whose pool has no liquidity blocks mint for as long as the pool is empty, not 'until the next rebalance' as THREAT_MODEL.md statessrc/Imdex5.sol:399

      State: coins().length == 5 (coin 4 is a leftover with held > 0), listCount == 4. bob mint(10e18, 2000e18, 0): reverts.

      Warp 8 days, deliver the same list, rebalance again: coins().length still 5 and mint reverts again, while alice redeem(1e18) succeeds.

      Expected per THREAT_MODEL: mint works after the next rebalance.

      Actual: blocked across every rebalance while the pool stays dead.

      Scratch run: test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_B_leftoverDeadPoolBlocksMintAcrossRebalances passes, i.e. demonstrates the block.

    • infoThe stateful fuzz suites never exercise a nonzero minShares; the new floor is covered only by two unit tests and one fork testtest/Imdex5.invariant.t.sol:129
