Hamster Nap 3D, a last-buyer-before-bedtime game on Squeektoshi, SqueekChain's real hamster, on Ethereum Sepolia.

What it is: a hook launch on Sepolia (the standard token, its pool paired with Sepolia ETH, and one Uniswap v4 hook). Token name: Hamster Nap 3D. Token symbol: NAP. The standard 1,000,000,000 token; all of the requester's ninety percent seeds the pool, nothing to a remainder wallet.

The workspace is the given repository, and it holds everything this request builds on: the game's hook (src/HamsterNapHook.sol), the token (src/NapToken.sol), the tests, README.md with every rule, and the site source under web/ with its export in dist/. Keep the game, the tests and the README's rules, and change only what the sections "Changes to the contracts" and "Website" list. launch.json, web/deployment.handoff.json, dist/ and docs/frontend/ describe an earlier test deployment: replace them, and never reuse their addresses.

The game, as the code has it: every buy pays 2% of its Sepolia ETH into a pot held by the hook; sells pay no game fee. A buy of at least 0.001 ETH makes the buyer (tx.origin) the latest buyer. A nap is 3 consecutive settled SqueekCore rounds with zero work; it begins at its first zero-work round s. Anyone can call settleNaps; the pot collected from buys before round s goes to the last qualifying buyer before s. Naps are claimed in order and each pays once; a winner that cannot receive ETH gets a withdrawOwed credit. Failsafe: if the core's settled frontier has not advanced for 7 days, the last qualifying buyer can take the pot. The Sworn card check for the first game runs only on chain id 1 and is skipped on Sepolia.

Why the change: the code reads the SqueekCore proxy 0x980B4424c007CAf7a1f3670B48c8EaEf7EbC3d44 as a constant. SqueekChain's operator moved to a new proxy, and the old one stopped settling on 2026-11-04. The core must be changeable until the operator's core is final.

Changes to the contracts:

  1. Names: the hook contract HamsterNapHook becomes HamsterNap3D (src/HamsterNap3D.sol; tests, ABI export and launch.json follow). The token contract stays NapToken, with the name Hamster Nap 3D and the symbol NAP.
  2. The core address, its genesis timestamp and its round length become storage. They start at the live SqueekCore proxy 0xFD6C166D4B8E2962E65746a13e5a0797CD4dE0c4, the core the SqueekChain API follows. Measured on Sepolia on 2026-11-06: its configuration() reports genesisTimestamp 1793735400 and roundDuration 600, and it answers state() and roundPage like the old core. Write the three values as literals: constructors still read no other contract.
  3. setCore(newCore), owner only, only while the core is not finalized. It reverts while naps the old core certified are still unsettled: settleNaps catches up first. If the old core cannot be read, the switch goes ahead anyway: rounds of the old core the hook had not scanned are dropped. It reads the new core's configuration() for genesis and round length and state() for the frontier, and reverts if either cannot be read or the round length is zero. After the switch the nap scan starts at the first round after the new core's frontier with an empty zero-work run; the pot, the latest buyer and every recorded buy carry over; a nap on the new core pays the last qualifying buyer whose buy time is before the start of that nap's first round; the failsafe's 7 days restart. Event CoreChanged(oldCore, newCore).
  4. finalizeCore(), owner only, one-way: afterwards setCore reverts forever. Event CoreFinalized(core).
  5. The owner is the launch's owner ($owner in the hook's constructor). The owner has no other power: no pause, no upgrade, no fee change, no withdrawal, no ownership transfer. Sells always work, also when the core reverts.
  6. Views for the site: core(), coreFinalized(), owner().

Tests and an independent review: keep the existing suite green and add Foundry tests, with the repository's mock core, for setCore (not the owner; after finalizeCore; unsettled naps on the old core; an unreadable old core; a new core that reverts or reports a zero round length; the pot and the latest buyer carried over; a buy before the switch winning the first nap on the new core; the failsafe clock restarting) and for finalizeCore. Then an independent adversarial review of the changed hook and its tests, with the owner's power over the core as its first question.

Website, after deployment: one page, English, mobile first; an unofficial community game with Sepolia test tokens of no value, not affiliated with SqueekChain. Build on the site source under web/: keep its chain reads, wallet connection and trade logic, connect them to the new deployment, and replace its look and wording. Today it looks like a soft, cosy template: rounded cards, a rounded font, a cartoon, bedtime wording. Wanted instead: a crypto degen look in the line of FOMO3D and today's token launch pages: near black, sharp corners, monospace numbers, one loud accent colour, dense and number first, short blunt wording in a trader's words, no cartoon, no marketing blocks, no promise of profit.

The prize pool is always visible: a bar fixed to the top of the window at every width and scroll position, in its own reserved space so it never covers text, with the pot in ETH as the largest number on the page, the latest qualifying buyer and how long ago they bought, and the nap count (0 to 3 zero-work rounds), all updating live.

Below it: Squeektoshi live from https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status (CORS open, poll every 10 s; running, resting, stale or offline) with a link to the console https://sepolia.squeekchain.com, buy and sell on Sepolia with pending and error states, the claim when a settled nap is claimable, recent winners from the hook's events, the rules in a few lines, and one new line: the core the hook reads, whether it is finalized, and past CoreChanged events. A connected wallet can buy and sell on Sepolia, claim a settled nap and withdraw what it is owed; nothing else.

Outside dependency: the SqueekCore proxy above on Sepolia, read-only (state, configuration, roundPage). Fees and payouts: the 2% buy fee goes into the pot held by the hook, and the pot goes only to nap winners or the failsafe winner; nothing goes to the owner, the requester or any other address.

Publication: the requester authorizes publishing the source code of the contracts and the website on GitHub, and publishing the usable website at a public URL on IPFS under an ENS name.

Also approved

Chain: Sepolia (11155111). Launch kind: univ4_hook with the standard token, paired with Sepolia ETH. Publishing the source on GitHub and the website at a public URL (IPFS with an ENS name) is authorized. The project and token name is Hamster Nap 3D, the symbol NAP. Site name hamsternap3d. No backend, no signer. The only owner power is setCore until finalizeCore.

Hamster Nap 3D, a last-buyer-before-bedtime game on SqueekChain's hamster: on the given repository make the SqueekCore address changeable by the owner until it is finalized, with tests and an independent review, deploy the hook and its pool on Sepolia, then build the game's website in a crypto degen look, the prize pool always visible, against the live deployment.

The website brief

The game page built on the site source under web/, connected to the new deployment and restyled as a crypto degen page with the prize pool always visible, plus the core line.

  • The pot in ETH stays visible at every scroll position at 390 and at 1440 pixels wide and never covers text.
  • The page says Hamster Nap 3D and NAP and shows no address of the earlier deployment.
  • No rounded font, soft rounded cards, cartoon or bedtime wording.

  4. Audit mathAgent #19found 1 low

I found one low-severity issue in the math area and nothing medium or higher. The findings and coverage are in .imd-findings.json: one finding and 23 coverage rows, one for each of the 21 entry points plus two invariants. No repository files were changed; the scratch test I wrote to confirm the issue has been deleted.

    Finding 1 (low): exact-length checks on the core's answers (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:605, and :614)

    • What's wrong: the hook refuses any state() answer that isn't exactly 256 bytes, and any configuration() answer that isn't exactly 352 bytes. It only uses the first word of state() and words 2–3 of configuration().
    • When it breaks: if SqueekChain upgrades its proxy and adds one field at the end of either struct, those words don't move, but the hook would still treat the core as unreadable.
    • Effect: settleNaps would revert with CoreUnreadable on every call, so no nap could ever be paid; the only payout left would be the failsafe after 7 days. setCore to the upgraded core also reverts, and after finalizeCore this can't be fixed.
    • Reproduction: I ran a Foundry test where the owner calls setCore with a mock core returning 9 words from state() and 12 from configuration(). It failed with CoreUnreadable().
    • Today: the live Sepolia core returns exactly 8 and 11 words, so this only triggers after an upgrade.
    • Fix: accept answers at least that long, and raise the copy cap.

What I checked and found correct

    • Fees:
      • Exact-input buys take 2% (rounded down) of the input. On a partial fill the fee is recomputed on what the pool actually used, capped at the amount set aside, and the rest is credited back to the buyer.
      • Exact-output buys charge poolEth × 200 / 9800, which makes the fee exactly 2% of the total spent.
      • The hook's cut can never exceed the swap amount, so the swap direction stays valid. The 0.001 ETH qualifying threshold is measured on the ETH really spent.
    • Money balance: the hook's ETH plus its claims on the PoolManager always cover the pot plus everything owed, on every path (taking ETH directly, claims, deferred payouts, refunds).
    • Rounds and time: round number, round start and round end conversions have no overflow or off-by-one, including before genesis and with a 1-second round length.
    • Winner selection: the binary search finds the last buy strictly before a nap's start (or the failsafe cutoff), and stays correct across core switches because it uses buy timestamps.
    • Nap scan: the 16-round page logic and the 3-round zero-work counter carry correctly across pages and calls. I checked roundPage on the live Sepolia core (0xFD6C…E0C4): it excludes the start round, lists only rounds with work, and returns pages of 10–15 records without hitting the 16 cap.
    • Failsafe timing: the opening time, the cutoff and repeated payouts are all correct.
    • setCore reset: the scan restarts after the new core's frontier (with a guard against the maximum value), the zero-work run clears and the failsafe clock restarts.

Outside my area, not reported: the owner's power over the core is as the brief allows, but it is real. Before finalizeCore, the owner can point the hook at a core they control and so decide who wins. Calling setCore with the same core also clears a zero-work run that is two rounds in, cancelling a nap that was about to happen. I left this to the access-control review.

Not covered: gas or reentrancy beyond what affects the numbers, and the frontend.

    • lowExact-length checks on state()/configuration() returns make naps unpayable if SqueekCore appends a struct fieldsrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:605

_readFrontierFrom copies at most 256 bytes and treats any state() answer whose length is not exactly 256 as unreadable. _readConfiguration does the same with 352 (line 614: if (!ok || ret.length != 352) revert CoreUnreadable();). The hook only uses the first word of state() and words 2-3 of configuration(). Appending a static field to a static struct leaves those offsets unchanged, so >= with a larger copy cap would still decode them correctly.

SqueekCore is an upgradeable proxy, and the hook's own NatSpec (finalizeCore) says finalization cannot freeze its upgrades. If an upgrade appends one field to CoreState, every read of the frontier fails. settleNaps then reverts with CoreUnreadable, no nap can ever be certified or paid, the core-stall failsafe becomes the only payout path, and the owner cannot setCore back to that same proxy (or any v3-compatible core with an extra field).

After finalizeCore this cannot be recovered. Funds are not lost: the failsafe pays after 7 days. The broken guarantee is the nap game itself.

I checked the live core 0xFD6C...e0c4 on Sepolia at block timestamp 1793994348: today it returns exactly 8 and 11 words (frontier 431, genesis 1793735400, duration 600), so this only triggers after an upgrade.

Deploy HamsterNap3D at an address with flags 0x20CC, using owner 0xB0B.

      Deploy a core whose state() returns 9 words (word0 = 500) and whose configuration() returns 12 words (word1 = 1793735400, word2 = 600); this is v3 with one appended field.

      Call setCore(core) from the owner.

Expected: the switch succeeds, with core = new core and scanRound = 501.

      Actual: it reverts with CoreUnreadable().

I ran this with forge in a scratch test and got [FAIL: CoreUnreadable()].

On the active core the same 9-word state() makes _readFrontier return ok=false, so settleNaps(1) reverts CoreUnreadable on every call and _observeFrontier never advances lastSeenFrontier.

Fix: accept ret.length >= 256 / >= 352 and raise the maxBytes copy cap (or copy only the needed words).

  5. Audit economicsAgent #784found 1 medium, 1 low

I found one medium and one low defect in the game's economics. Both are reproduced against a real v4 PoolManager and written to .imd-findings.json, with 23 coverage rows: all 21 entry points plus 2 invariants. I changed no repository files; my only test file is in test/scratch/.

    Findings

    1. Medium: the pot can be frozen for good (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:395, failsafe; and settleNaps at line 369)

    • Cause: winners are paid through only two routes, and they depend on different SqueekCore reads:
      • settleNaps reverts with CoreUnreadable if any roundPage read fails.
      • failsafe opens only when state() stops advancing for 7 days.
    • Trigger: SqueekCore is upgraded so that roundPage(..., 16) reverts, or answers in a shape the hook can't read, while state() keeps settling rounds.
    • Effect: no winner can be paid while the core keeps settling. After finalizeCore() nothing can rescue the pot, which the README tells the owner to call. That breaks the brief's payout rule. It also contradicts the README line "the failsafe is the way out" if the core's read interface changes.
    • Proof (included in the finding): Alice buys 1 ETH, so the pot is 0.02 ETH. The owner finalizes, the core's pages break, and rounds 651–653 form a nap Alice should win. After 30 days of the core still settling, every settleNaps and failsafe call reverts and the pot is still 0.02 ETH. The test fails on the current code. The same test without the page breakage passes, with Alice paid, so the page/state split is the cause.
    • Suggested fix: start the failsafe clock from the last time the scan actually made progress, not only from the last frontier advance.

    2. Low: the owner can pay the whole pot to themselves before finalizeCore (setCore, line 207)

    • This answers the brief's first review question, the owner's power over the core.
    • Steps:
      1. The owner buys 0.001 ETH and becomes the latest buyer.
      2. They call setCore with a contract they wrote: its genesis is one second later, rounds are 1 second long, and it reports no work.
      3. Anyone calls settleNaps(1).
    • Result: I reproduced this locally: the owner received exactly 0.02002 ETH, the whole pot, at a cost of about 0.00005 ETH. The brief says "no withdrawal" and that nothing goes to the owner.
    • The README already lists this as a trust assumption, so I rated it low.

What I checked and found to hold

    • Fees: the 2% fee and refund maths for exact-input (full and partial fill) and exact-output buys. The rule that hook ETH plus held claims always covers the pot plus what is owed.
    • Payouts: each fee is paid at most once, including across core switches. ERC-6909 claims are minted and redeemed correctly, and ETH is only accepted from the PoolManager.
    • Callbacks: unlockCallback can only run when the hook itself unlocks.
    • Trading: sells pay no fee and never read the core.
    • Pool opening: beforeInitialize accepts only the factory, opens the pool once, requires native ETH and accepts the 12500 fee.
    • Token: NapToken is plain OpenZeppelin ERC-20.
    • Callbacks the hook doesn't enable: they can't block liquidity changes or fee collection.

Leads I looked at and left out

    • A core that burns 5M gas per read makes buys expensive but doesn't stop them.
    • Repeated setCore calls can keep pushing back the failsafe. The README already discloses this, and it is the same owner power as finding 2.
    • The SqueekChain operator changing round timing after finalization. The README already treats this as outside the hook's control.

    • mediumPot is frozen with no exit when SqueekCore's state() keeps advancing but roundPage becomes unreadable: settleNaps reverts and the failsafe never opens (permanent after finalizeCore)src/HamsterNap3D.sol:395

Flow gap (three-way seam: execution x periphery x first principles). Winners can only be paid through two paths: settleNaps, which reverts CoreUnreadable when any page read fails (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:376-377: (settled, readable) = _scan(frontier, maxPages); / if (!readable) revert CoreUnreadable();), and failsafe, which opens only when state().settledThroughRound has not advanced for 7 days.

The two dependencies are judged on different reads: liveness on state(), payouts on roundPage().

When SqueekCore (an upgradeable proxy this hook cannot freeze, per README) keeps settling but its roundPage stops answering the hook's exact call roundPage(from-1, through, 16) (e.g. an upgrade that lowers the record cap below 16, changes RoundCheckpoint's layout so a 16-record answer exceeds MAX_PAGE_BYTES = 2880, or returns certifiedThroughRound < from), every settleNaps reverts and every failsafe call sees the frontier advance (its own _noteFrontier sets frontierSeenAt = now, so staleAt = now + 7 days) and reverts CoreNotStale.

The pot, including naps the core really certified, cannot reach any winner for as long as the hamster keeps running. Before finalization only the owner can rescue it with setCore; after finalizeCore (which the README tells the owner to call once the operator's core is final) there is no path at all, so the pot and every future 2% buy fee are locked in the hook permanently.

This contradicts the brief's payout guarantee ('the pot goes only to nap winners or the failsafe winner') and the README's own claim under Dependency risk: 'If it is upgraded with a different read ABI, claims revert and the failsafe is the way out'. The failsafe is not a way out whenever state() still advances.

Fix direction: date the failsafe from the last time the hook could make scan progress (e.g. track lastScanProgressAt updated when _scan advances scanRound, and open the failsafe 7 days after max(that, ...) when scanRound <= frontier), or treat 'frontier advancing but no page readable' as stale.

Setup: hook on a v4 PoolManager with full-range liquidity, core frontier 649, time = roundStart(650)+17.

      1. alice (tx.origin) buys with exact input 1 ETH in round 650: pot() = 0.02 ETH, latestBuyer = alice, scanRound = 650.

      2. owner calls finalizeCore().

      3. The core is upgraded so roundPage(...,16) reverts InvalidRoundPageBounds (state() unchanged).

Round 650 had work and rounds 651..653+ have zero work, i.e. a nap at 651 that alice should win.

      1. For 30 days, every day the core's frontier advances to currentRound-1 and anyone calls settleNaps(8) and failsafe().

Expected: alice is paid 0.02 ETH by the nap or, failing that, by the failsafe.

Actual: every settleNaps reverts CoreUnreadable and every failsafe reverts CoreNotStale(now + 7 days); after 30 days pot() is still 0.02 ETH and alice.balance is 0. setCore reverts CoreIsFinalized, so no one can recover it.

The attached test fails on the current code ('pot still frozen in the hook: 20000000000000000 != 0'); the same test without step 3 passes (alice is paid 0.02 ETH), which isolates the cause to the page/state divergence.

    • lowBefore finalizeCore the owner can route the whole pot to itself with a 0.001 ETH buy and a self-made core, contrary to 'nothing goes to the owner'src/HamsterNap3D.sol:207

Economic answer to the brief's first review question (the owner's power over the core). setCore accepts any contract whose configuration() and state() decode, with any genesis and round length, and _settleNap pays whoever was latest buyer before roundStart(napStart) on that core.

So the owner's power is not only 'influence' but a direct, cheap withdrawal of the entire pot, which the brief rules out ('no withdrawal', 'nothing goes to the owner, the requester or any other address'). The README discloses this as a trust assumption; it is reported so the judge and requester can weigh it, not as an unprivileged exploit. Cost to the owner: about 2% + 2 x 1.25% LP fee + price impact on a 0.001 ETH round trip (about 0.00005 ETH), against the full pot.

Possible mitigations within the brief: only allow setCore when the active core is stale (frontier not advanced for some period, which is the brief's stated reason for the switch), and/or a delay between announcing and applying a new core so pending winners can be settled on the honest core first; or finalize early.

Reproduced locally with a real v4 PoolManager (scratch test, passes = behavior confirmed).

State: alice buys 1 ETH exact input, pot() = 0.02 ETH, core not finalized and caught up.

      1. The owner's EOA (tx.origin) buys 0.001 ETH exact input at time t: latestBuyer = owner, pot = 0.02002 ETH.

      2. The owner deploys FakeCore: configuration() returns genesisTimestamp = t+1, roundDuration = 1; state().settledThroughRound = 0; roundPage(_, through, _) returns certifiedThroughRound = through and no records.

      3. owner calls setCore(FakeCore): passes every check, scanRound = 1.

      4. FakeCore's frontier is set to 3 and anyone calls settleNaps(1): rounds 1..3 read as zero-work, a nap at round 1 settles, _stateBefore(roundStart(1) = t+1) returns (owner, 0.02002 ETH) and the owner's balance rises by exactly 20020000000000000 wei, the whole pot.

Expected per brief: the pot goes only to the winner of a real Squeektoshi nap and nothing to the owner; actual: the owner takes it with no nap having happened, at a cost of about 0.00005 ETH.

The review is complete. Findings and the coverage record are in .imd-findings.json; no repository file was changed, and the only new files are scratch tests under test/scratch/.

    Scope

Files read in full: src/HamsterNap3D.sol, src/base/BaseHook.sol, src/NapToken.sol, src/HookFlags.sol, src/interfaces/ISqueekCore.sol, launch.json, the README's core-replacement section, the mock core and test base. Three passes were made against the Pashov Access Control, Trust Gap and Asymmetry guides, after the Mindset. The existing suite (163 tests) is green, and the exported ABI equals the compiled one.

[M-1] Pot locked for good when state() turns unreadable while roundPage still answers and more than 8 pages are pending

Location: src/HamsterNap3D.sol:402-405 (failsafe), with src/HamsterNap3D.sol:372-373 (settleNaps). Root cause: settleNaps needs a readable state() and ignores lastSeenFrontier, while failsafe scans from lastSeenFrontier but reverts NapsUnsettled after 8 pages, rolling back its own progress and pointing at settleNaps. With a readable backlog over 128 rounds, neither path can ever progress. Reproduction: alice buys at round 650, the core certifies through 849, bob's buy records that sighting, then state() starts reverting. settleNaps(100) reverts CoreUnreadable; failsafe() reverts NapsUnsettled(778, 849) forever, scan position stays at 650. After finalizeCore no recovery exists. Buys keep adding to the frozen pot. Proof: test/scratch/StateUnreadableBacklogLock.t.sol fails on this code with "the pot can never be paid"; its source is attached to the finding. Fix: let settleNaps fall back to lastSeenFrontier when state() fails, or let failsafe keep its 8-page progress instead of reverting.

[L-1] setCore accepts a core whose timeline lies in the future

Location: src/HamsterNap3D.sol:210-214. A single switch to a core with genesis 100 years ahead moved failsafeOpensAt from 1794729617 to 4948329617, and finalizeCore makes that permanent. This goes past the documented "repeated switches" caveat and amounts to the pause the brief forbids. Fix: reject genesis or the frontier round's end after block.timestamp.

[L-2] setCore waives the pending-nap check as soon as old state() fails

Location: src/HamsterNap3D.sol:646-649. failsafe treats the same partial failure by scanning readable pages up to lastSeenFrontier and paying the certified nap's winner; setCore drops that nap instead. Same root as M-1; fix with the same fallback.

    Observations (non-blocking)

The owner's ability to pick a core that decides winners is the brief's design and is disclosed in the README and the manifest notes. The buyer and partial-fill refund recipient being tx.origin follows the brief. The manifest matches the source: constructor order $poolManager, $factory, $owner, permissions match getHookPermissions, fee 12500, notes under 4,000 characters.

    Coverage

All 21 listed entry points have a row, plus two invariant rows. Five are marked finding (failsafe, settleNaps, setCore, finalizeCore); the rest hold, including the unimplemented liquidity and donate callbacks, which are flag-off so the factory's fee collect is never blocked.

    • mediumPot locked for good when the core`s state() turns unreadable while roundPage still answers and more than 8 pages the hook already saw certified are unscanned: settleNaps reverts CoreUnreadable and faisrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:402

settleNaps (lines 372-373) requires a readable state() and reverts CoreUnreadable otherwise, although the hook already holds the certified frontier it last saw in lastSeenFrontier. failsafe (lines 397-405) does use lastSeenFrontier and scans from it, but after FAILSAFE_SCAN_PAGES (8 pages, 128 rounds) it reverts NapsUnsettled whenever readable rounds remain, which rolls back the scan it just did, and refers the caller to settleNaps, which cannot run.

The two paths are asymmetric about the same input (state() unreadable, roundPage readable): neither can make progress once the readable backlog under lastSeenFrontier exceeds 128 rounds. Buys keep working (they tolerate the failed state() read) so the pot keeps growing, but no winner is ever paid.

Before finalizeCore the owner can escape with setCore (its old-core check returns as soon as state() fails, see finding 3), at the cost of dropping the certified naps; after finalizeCore there is no path at all and the pot plus every later fee is frozen forever.

The precondition is realistic for an upgradeable proxy: SqueekCore v3 is a proxy and any upgrade that adds a field to CoreState makes state() return 288 bytes, which _readFrontierFrom rejects (ret.length != 256), while roundPage keeps its ABI. A 128-round backlog is 21 hours of rounds between settleNaps calls with buys in between (each buy records the frontier it sees).

Setup: PoolManager, NapToken, HamsterNap3D(manager, factory, owner), pool ETH/NAP fee 12500 spacing 60 initialized by factory, full-range liquidity.

Mock core at the hook`s core address whose rounds all have zero work.

      1. At round 650 alice buys 1 ETH (exact input): scanRound=650, pot=0.02.

      2. core frontier -> 849; warp to roundEnd(849); bob buys 0.5 ETH: lastSeenFrontier=849, pot=0.03, scanRound still 650 (200 unscanned certified rounds, 13 pages).

      3. The core`s state() starts reverting (or returns a different length); roundPage still answers.

      4. settleNaps(100): reverts CoreUnreadable (line 373).

      5. warp to failsafeOpensAt(); failsafe(): scans 8 pages (scanRound would be 778) then reverts NapsUnsettled(778, 849) (line 404), undoing the scan: scanRound stays 650.

      6. Any later call, e.g. 30 days later: same two reverts.

      7. owner finalizeCore(): setCore now reverts CoreIsFinalized; the pot (0.03 ETH and every later buy fee) can never be paid.

Expected: the naps the hook saw certified (650-652, 653-655, ...) are paid to alice, or at least the failsafe pays the pot; actual: cumulativePaid stays 0 forever.

Fix: in settleNaps, when _readFrontier() fails fall back to lastSeenFrontier (revert only if scanRound > lastSeenFrontier), or in failsafe keep the progress of the 8-page scan (return/emit instead of reverting with NapsUnsettled) so repeated failsafe calls drain the backlog.

    • lowsetCore accepts a core whose timeline lies in the future (genesis or roundEnd(frontier) after now): one switch pushes failsafeOpensAt decades ahead, and with finalizeCore the pot is frozen permanentlysrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:210

The only validations on the new core are readable configuration()/state(), non-zero duration and frontier != uint64.max. The brief says the owners only power is choosing the core and that the owner has no pause or withdrawal; README discloses that an owner can install a dishonest core to pick winners or repeatedly restart the failsafe`.

A single switch to a core whose genesis is in the future (or whose frontier times duration reaches past now) does more than restart the clock: failsafeOpensAt() = max(roundEnd(lastSeenFrontier), frontierSeenAt) + 7 days becomes a date in the far future, currentRound() is 0 so every buy is recorded in round 0, and no nap can ever be certified for rounds that have not started. Buys and sells keep working and the pot keeps growing.

After finalizeCore the state is permanent: the failsafe guarantee every fee still reaches a buyer is void. This is an authorised actor breaking an explicit requirement (no pause, no permanent lock) through an input setCore could cheaply reject; it is not covered by the documented repeated switches caveat because it needs one switch and finalization makes it irreversible.

Setup as in the project`s HookTestBase (round 650, both-sided liquidity).

      1. alice buys 1 ETH: pot=0.02, failsafeOpensAt()=1794729617.

      2. owner calls setCore(next) where next.configuration() returns genesis = now + 100 years, duration 600, and next.state() returns frontier 0: the call succeeds (CoreChanged emitted).

      3. failsafeOpensAt() is now 4948329617 (year 2126), currentRound()=0.

      4. owner calls finalizeCore().

      5. warp 1 year: failsafe() reverts CoreNotStale, settleNaps(1) returns 0 (frontier 0 < scanRound 1), pot stays 0.02 ETH and every later buy fee joins it, forever.

Expected: setCore rejects a core whose round 1 (genesis) or whose frontier round end is after block.timestamp, as it rejects a zero duration.

      Actual: accepted and finalizable.

Fix: in setCore revert when genesis > block.timestamp or roundEnd(frontier) computed with the new timing > block.timestamp (InvalidCoreFrontier).

    • lowsetCore waives the pending-nap check as soon as the old core`s state() fails, dropping certified naps that the hook can still read through roundPage up to lastSeenFrontier and that failsafe() would pasrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:646

_requireOldCoreCaughtUp returns immediately when state() is unreadable, although the hook has lastSeenFrontier (the frontier it last saw certified) and roundPage may still answer. failsafe() treats the same core asymmetrically: it uses lastSeenFrontier and scans readable pages before paying (lines 399-405), so naps certified by the old core are paid to their own winners there.

The brief says the switch goes ahead when the old core cannot be read; here only one of its two reads fails and the certified rounds are readable. The result depends on who acts first: if the owner switches before the failsafe opens, the certified naps winners lose their entitlement and the fees are re-assigned by the new cores first nap (access x asymmetry seam: an admin action changes who receives in-flight value based on a partial read failure).

Same root as finding 1 (state() failure treated as total unreadability instead of falling back to lastSeenFrontier).

Setup as in the project`s HookTestBase (round 650, both-sided liquidity).

      1. alice buys 1 ETH at round 650 (qualifying).

      2. old core: setWork(650,1), frontier 653 (651-653 zero work: a nap certified at 651).

      3. warp to roundEnd(653); bob buys 0.5 ETH: lastSeenFrontier=653.

      4. old core state() starts reverting, roundPage still answers (mock setReadFailures(true, false, false)).

Path A (no switch): warp to failsafeOpensAt(), failsafe(): nap 651 is scanned and paid, alice receives 0.02 ETH, then the failsafe pays bob 0.01 ETH; napsSettled=1.

Path B (owner switches first): setCore(next) with next frontier 653 succeeds, napsSettled=0, scanRound=654; next certifies 654-656 zero work; settleNaps(1) pays the new naps winner (the last buy strictly before roundStart(654)): alice 0.02 ETH, bobs fee stays in the pot.

The certified old nap at 651 is never settled although the hook could read it.

Expected: setCore reverts NapsUnsettled (or settles) when readable certified rounds remain under lastSeenFrontier; actual: it switches.

Fix: in _requireOldCoreCaughtUp, when _readFrontier() fails use lastSeenFrontier as the frontier (the same fallback failsafe uses) before probing the next page.

  7. Audit flowAgent #29found 1 medium, 2 low, 1 info

Review complete. The findings file is written and verified; no tracked file was changed.

Outcome. .imd-findings.json holds 4 findings and 24 coverage rows (all 21 listed entry points plus three invariants). The existing suite is green (168 passed, 1 skipped fork test). I verified the core literals live on Sepolia: genesis 1793735400, round 600 s, frontier 432 at current round 433, and roundPage behaves as the interface documents at about 42k gas.

    Findings

    1. Medium, failsafe clock trusts an unbounded frontier (_noteFrontier, src/HamsterNap3D.sol:668). A core that reports a settled round beyond the running round and then stops pushes failsafeOpensAt() to the end of that future round plus 7 days. With frontier = current + 100,000 that is about 694 days; near uint64.max it never opens. settleNaps cannot recover it and after finalizeCore nothing can, so the pot is locked. The attached proof (test/scratch/FailsafeFutureFrontier.t.sol) fails on the current code and passes when a frontier at or past currentRound() is treated as unreadable. I also checked that clamping to currentRound() - 1 is the wrong fix: it looks like a fresh advance on every call and the proof still fails with CoreNotStale.

    2. Low, advancing frontier with unreadable pages locks the pot (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:377). If state() keeps advancing but roundPage cannot be read, settleNaps reverts every time and the failsafe never opens because each buy records the advance. Substantiated over a simulated 60 days.

    3. Low, owner reach before finalizeCore (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:217). The owner can point the hook at a trivial core whose round 1 starts one second after their own buy and take the pot in one settleNaps call, or reset the failsafe clock indefinitely. This is disclosed in the launch notes; reported because the brief made the owner's power the review's first question.

    4. Info, mock fidelity. MockSqueekCore.state() is O(frontier) and exceeds the hook's 5M read cap near frontier 2,070, so long-horizon tests silently stop observing the core.

Covered in depth. Both swap directions and fee paths against v4-core's delta semantics, claims mint/redeem, payouts and owed, the page scan and zero-run tracking, failsafe cutoff and ordering, setCore guards, the manifest and exported ABIs. Not reached: the frontend and deployment handoff, which are outside this area.

    • mediumFailsafe clock trusts an unbounded reported frontier: a core that reports a settled round beyond the running round, then stops, postpones failsafe() indefinitely and locks the potsrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:668

_noteFrontier (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:667-673) records whatever settledThroughRound the active core reports, with no bound. failsafeOpensAt() (lines 520-524) dates staleness from max(roundEnd(lastSeenFrontier), frontierSeenAt) + 7 days.

A round can only be settled after it ends, so a frontier at or beyond currentRound() is impossible for an honest core; but a buggy, upgraded or misreporting core (the proxy at 0xFD6C... is upgradeable by its operator, and the reporter key submits batches) can return one.

The hook then dates the clock from the END of that future round: with frontier = currentRound + 100,000 the failsafe opens about 694 days later; with frontier near type(uint64).max it never opens (roundEnd overflows nothing but is astronomically far). settleNaps() cannot help: either roundPage is unreadable (CoreUnreadable at line 377) or, if readable, it would need 100,000/16 pages before scanRound passes the frontier. setCore cannot help after finalizeCore, and before it only when the old core's next page is unreadable (_requireOldCoreCaughtUp, lines 643-654); a readable future page reverts NapsUnsettled forever.

Result: every fee already in the pot plus every later buy's fee is locked for years or permanently. The failsafe is the one mechanism the brief relies on against a failing core ('if the core's settled frontier has not advanced for 7 days'), and this input defeats it.

Fix: in _noteFrontier (or _readFrontierFrom) treat a reported frontier >= currentRound() as unreadable and do not record it, since a round that has not ended cannot be settled; optionally apply the same bound to the candidate's frontier in setCore.

Do not clamp it to currentRound() - 1 instead: a clamped value grows with every call and looks like a fresh advance, so the failsafe would still never open (verified: with a clamp the proof fails with CoreNotStale; with the ignore it passes). The attached proof fails on the current code (failsafeOpensAt() is 60,000,000 s away) and passes once the recorded frontier is bounded to rounds that have ended.

State: pool live, Alice bought 1 ETH (pot 0.02 ETH), hook saw honest frontier 649 in round 650.

Input: the core's state() now returns settledThroughRound = 650 + 100000 (a round that will not end for ~694 days), roundPage reverts, and the core never changes again.

      Any buy (e.g. Bob 0.0001 ETH) runs _observeFrontier -> _noteFrontier(100650): lastSeenFrontier = 100650, frontierSeenAt = now.

Expected: the frontier has stopped, so failsafe() is callable 7 days later (plus at most one round).

Actual: failsafeOpensAt() = roundEnd(100650) + 7 days = 1854730200 vs now 1794125417, so failsafe() reverts CoreNotStale for ~694 days; settleNaps(1) reverts CoreUnreadable; after finalizeCore() nothing can ever pay the pot out.

Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/FailsafeFutureFrontier.t.sol (fails: 'failsafe postponed by a future frontier: 1854730200 > 1794730217').

    • lowA core whose state() keeps advancing but whose roundPage cannot be read leaves the pot unwinnable: settleNaps always reverts and the failsafe never openssrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:377

The failsafe keys only on settledThroughRound standing still (failsafe(), lines 395-413, via failsafeOpensAt()). settleNaps() (lines 369-378) reverts CoreUnreadable whenever _scan cannot read a page, keeping no progress.

If the core keeps certifying rounds (state() readable and advancing, as every buy's _observeFrontier records) but roundPage is unreadable (reverts, returns a different ABI, or returns certifiedThroughRound < from), then: settleNaps reverts on every call, failsafe reverts CoreNotStale on every call because each buy pushes frontierSeenAt forward, and naps are never settled.

The pot grows with every buy and no winner can ever be paid while trading continues; only the owner's setCore (before finalizeCore) can recover, and nothing can after. The notes and README only cover 'the core cannot be read at all'. This is a liveness gap in the recovery control flow rather than a theft; a plausible trigger is a core upgrade that changes RoundPage's layout while keeping CoreState.

Fix options: let the failsafe also open when settleNaps has been unable to make progress for FAILSAFE_DELAY (track the last time scanRound advanced or a page was readable), or treat an unreadable page with a readable advancing frontier as staleness of the scan rather than of the frontier.

State: pool live, Alice bought 1 ETH (pot 0.02 ETH).

Input: core.state() keeps returning settledThroughRound = currentRound() - 1 as rounds end; core.roundPage reverts on every call.

Each day Bob buys 0.0001 ETH (fee 2e-6 ETH, records the advance).

Then, every day for 60 days: settleNaps(1) reverts CoreUnreadable; failsafe() reverts CoreNotStale(failsafeOpensAt()) with failsafeOpensAt() always > now.

Expected: a core that cannot certify naps for weeks is treated as failed and the pot becomes payable.

Actual: napsSettled stays 0, alice.balance stays 0, pot grows past 0.02 ETH and is unreachable.

Substantiated by test_advancingFrontierWithUnreadablePagesLocksThePot in test/scratch/AdvancingUnreadablePages.t.sol (passes, demonstrating the lock).

    • lowUntil finalizeCore, setCore lets the owner pick the nap start and therefore the winner (including themselves) and reset the failsafe clock at will; no delay or bound limits thissrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:217

setCore (lines 207-226) accepts any address whose configuration() and state() decode, reads genesis and roundDuration from it, starts scanning at its frontier + 1 and resets frontierSeenAt. Nothing ties the candidate to SqueekChain's proxy, requires a delay, or bounds the new timing.

The owner can therefore deploy a trivial contract that reports genesis = (timestamp of the owner's own qualifying buy) + 1, roundDuration = 1 and frontier = 3 with empty pages: the hook finds a 'nap' at round 1 whose start is one second after the owner's buy, and _settleNap pays the whole pot collected through that moment to the owner, over the head of the real latest buyer.

The same call, with the old core stalled and caught up, resets the seven-day failsafe clock each time it is made, so the failsafe can be deferred for as long as the core stays unfinalized.

The brief says the owner has 'no withdrawal' power and the launch notes disclose that 'core selection can affect winners' and 'repeated switches can delay the failsafe', so this is reported as the first question the independent review was asked rather than as an undisclosed defect: before finalizeCore the owner (or whoever holds that key) can take the pot in one transaction.

Mitigations: finalize promptly after the switch; or require a candidate core to match the known proxy's streamId / reporter, or add a timelock between setCore and its effect so buyers can see a switch coming.

State: Alice buys 1 ETH at T0 (pot 0.02), the owner buys 0.001 ETH at T0+1h (owner becomes latest buyer), Bob buys 1 ETH at T0+2h (Bob is latest buyer; an honest nap now pays Bob 0.04002 ETH).

Input: owner deploys LightCore(genesis = T0+1h+1, duration = 1), calls setCore(it), sets its frontier to 3 with roundPage returning certifiedThroughRound = through and no records; anyone calls settleNaps(1).

Expected per the brief: the owner cannot withdraw.

Actual: the nap at round 1 (start T0+1h+1) pays the owner 0.02002 ETH (fees through the owner's own buy); Bob gets 0.

Substantiated by test_ownerCanChooseTheWinnerUntilFinalized in test/scratch/AdvancingUnreadablePages.t.sol (passes).

    • infoTest helper: MockSqueekCore.state() costs O(frontier) gas and silently becomes 'unreadable' past about 2,070 rounds, so long-horizon tests stop observing the frontiertest/mocks/MockSqueekCore.sol:63

_cumulativeThrough loops over every round 1..frontier with a cold SLOAD each.

Measured: state() costs 1,577,397 gas at frontier 650, 4,832,247 at 2,000 and 6,037,747 at 2,500. The hook forwards at most CORE_READ_GAS = 5,000,000 to each core read (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:631), so with the mock at a frontier above roughly 2,070 every _readFrontier returns ok = false: buys stop recording advances, settleNaps reverts CoreUnreadable and failsafeOpensAt() stops moving, without any test signal that the mock rather than the hook caused it.

The live core's state() reads fixed storage (its roundPage(416,432,16) estimated at 42,395 gas on Sepolia), so this is a fidelity gap of the stand-in only. Any test that warps more than about 10 days past round 650 with daily observations (as an invariant or soak test might) would be measuring the mock's gas, not the hook.

Fix: cache cumulative work per round in the mock (as test/independent/SequenceCore.sol already does) so state() is O(1).

Deploy MockSqueekCore, setFrontier(2500), call state() and measure gas: 6,037,747 > CORE_READ_GAS.

Through the hook: etch it at the core address, warp to round 2501, buy 0.0001 ETH; lastSeenFrontier does not change and no FrontierSeen event is emitted although the mock 'reports' 2500.

      Measured with test/scratch/MockGas.t.sol.

  8. Audit judgeAgent #339found 3 medium, 1 low

I've written the review to .imd-findings.json: 4 findings (3 medium, 1 low) and 22 coverage rows covering all 21 entry points plus one invariant. The three medium findings each come with a Foundry test that fails on the current code. No other files were changed, and the scratch tests are deleted.

Kept findings (each reproduced against a real v4 PoolManager):

    1. Medium: the hook ignores the last frontier it saw when the core's state() can't be read. Merges audit_permissions #1 and #3 and audit_math. If state() fails but roundPage still answers:

      • settleNaps reverts (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:373).
      • failsafe scans 8 pages, then reverts NapsUnsettled and loses that progress whenever more than 8 pages (128 rounds) are unscanned.
      • Before finalization, setCore skips settling naps the old core already certified.

After finalizeCore the pot can never be paid. The specialist's proof fails as described.

    2. Medium: pages unreadable while the frontier keeps advancing. Merges audit_economics #1 and audit_flow #2. settleNaps always reverts (line 377), and the failsafe never opens because each frontier advance restarts its 7-day clock. My test fails on the current code. The same test without the broken page passes and pays the buyer, so the broken page is the cause.

    3. Medium: a frontier reported beyond the current round is recorded anyway (audit_flow #1, line 668). One bad report from the core followed by a stall pushes the failsafe about 694 days out. My test fails on the current code.

    4. Low: setCore accepts any contract and any timeline. Merges audit_economics #2, audit_flow #3 and audit_permissions #2. I reproduced it: the owner made a 0.001 ETH buy, installed a fake core and received 0.02002 ETH, while the honest latest buyer got 0. Switching to a core whose start date is 100 years away moves the failsafe about 100 years out, and finalizing would make that permanent. The brief does grant setCore and the launch notes partly disclose this, so I rated it low.

Dropped: the specialist note that the test mock's state() uses too much gas. It is about a test helper's fidelity, not a defect in the contracts.

    Checked and clean:

    • Fee and delta accounting for every swap path.
    • Owed refunds, claim redemption and unlock callbacks.
    • The token, which is plain OpenZeppelin ERC-20.
    • launch.json: constructor argument order, permissions, fee 12500 and notes length (2,950 characters) all check out.
    • Contract sizes: the hook's deployed code is 19,978 bytes, under the 24,576 limit.

git status also shows untracked dotfiles in the repository (.bashrc, .claude/, .mcp.json and others) that I did not create; I left them alone.

    • mediumWhen state() is unreadable, the hook ignores lastSeenFrontier: settleNaps reverts, the failsafe reverts NapsUnsettled on a backlog over 8 pages, and setCore drops readable certified naps. After finalisrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:373

Merges audit_permissions #1 and #3, and audit_math's exact-length trigger. settleNaps (lines 372-373) reverts when state() cannot be read, even though the hook stores the certified frontier it last saw (lastSeenFrontier) and roundPage may still answer. failsafe (397-405) does fall back to lastSeenFrontier, but it scans only FAILSAFE_SCAN_PAGES = 8 pages.

If readable rounds are left after that, it reverts NapsUnsettled at line 404, which also rolls back the scan it just did, and the only way forward it names is settleNaps, which cannot run. Once more than 128 certified rounds are unscanned, neither path can make progress. Buys keep growing the pot.

After finalizeCore, nothing can ever pay it out. The same missing fallback is in _requireOldCoreCaughtUp at lines 646-647 (if (!ok) return;): before finalization, setCore treats a failed state() as a fully unreadable core and drops naps that are certified and still readable through roundPage. failsafe would have paid those naps to their own winners.

A realistic trigger: SqueekCore is an upgradeable proxy, and an upgrade that appends a field to CoreState makes state() return 288 bytes, which _readFrontierFrom rejects at line 605 (ret.length != 256).

Fix: when the state() read fails, use lastSeenFrontier in settleNaps and _requireOldCoreCaughtUp, as failsafe does. Also keep the failsafe's partial scan progress instead of reverting, or let failsafe run to completion. Optionally accept ret.length >= 256 / >= 352.

Real v4 PoolManager with full-range liquidity.

The hook's core is etched with a mock whose rounds all have zero work.

      Time is round 650.

      1. alice buys 1 ETH exact input: scanRound=650, pot=0.02 ETH.

      2. Core frontier set to 849, warp to roundEnd(849), bob buys 0.5 ETH: lastSeenFrontier=849, scanRound=650 (200 unscanned rounds, 13 pages), pot=0.03 ETH.

      3. The core's state() starts reverting; roundPage still answers.

      4. Repeat 20 times: settleNaps(100) reverts CoreUnreadable; warp 8 days; failsafe() scans 8 pages, then reverts NapsUnsettled(778,849) and rolls back.

Expected: the certified naps or the failsafe pay the pot.

      Actual: cumulativePaid stays 0.

The attached proof (the specialist's proof, rerun here) fails with 'the pot can never be paid: settleNaps and failsafe both revert: 0 <= 0'. setCore variant: same as steps 1-3 with frontier 653 and round 650 having work, so a nap is certified at 651.

Owner calls setCore(next): it succeeds instead of reverting NapsUnsettled, and the nap at 651 is never settled.

    • mediumA core whose state() keeps advancing while roundPage is unreadable freezes the pot: settleNaps always reverts and the failsafe never opens (permanent after finalizeCore)src/HamsterNap3D.sol:377

Merges audit_economics #1 and audit_flow #2. A winner can be paid on only two paths. settleNaps reverts CoreUnreadable at line 377 whenever a page cannot be read. failsafe opens only after state().settledThroughRound has stood still for 7 days (failsafeOpensAt, lines 520-524). Its own _noteFrontier call (line 398), and every buy, move frontierSeenAt forward whenever the frontier advances.

So when an upgrade or bug breaks roundPage (it reverts, changes layout, exceeds MAX_PAGE_BYTES, or reports certifiedThroughRound < from) while state() keeps advancing, no nap is ever paid and the failsafe never opens. Before finalization, only the owner's setCore can recover the pot. After finalization nothing can, which breaks the brief's guarantee that the pot goes to nap winners or the failsafe winner.

It also contradicts the README's claim that the failsafe is the way out after an ABI change.

Fix: date the failsafe from the last scan progress (for example, track when scanRound last advanced) instead of only from frontier advances, or treat 'frontier advancing but no page readable' as stale.

      Same harness.

The core has work in round 650 and zero work after it, so the nap at 651 belongs to alice.

      1. alice buys 1 ETH in round 650: pot=0.02 ETH.

      2. The owner calls finalizeCore().

      3. The core's roundPage starts reverting.

      4. For 60 days, each day: core frontier = currentRound()-1, then settleNaps(8) and failsafe().

Expected: alice is paid 0.02 ETH.

Actual: settleNaps reverts CoreUnreadable, failsafe reverts CoreNotStale, and cumulativePaid=0.

The attached proof fails ('pot frozen: settleNaps reverts and failsafe never opens: 0 <= 0').

The same test without step 3 passes (I ran it as a control), so the page/state divergence is the cause.

    • medium_noteFrontier records a reported frontier that lies beyond the current round, so a core that misreports once and then stalls postpones the failsafe by yearssrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:668

From audit_flow #1. _noteFrontier (lines 667-673) accepts any settledThroughRound, even one for a round that has not ended. No honest core can report that. failsafeOpensAt() then counts from roundEnd(lastSeenFrontier) + 7 days. A frontier 100,000 rounds ahead pushes the failsafe about 694 days out, and one near uint64.max effectively stops it from ever opening.

If pages are unreadable, settleNaps cannot help. After finalizeCore, setCore cannot help either. The failsafe exists to protect against a failing core, and this input defeats it.

Fix: in _noteFrontier (or _readFrontierFrom), ignore a frontier >= currentRound() rather than clamping it. A clamp would keep moving and keep the failsafe shut.

      Same harness, all-zero-work core.

      1. alice buys 1 ETH in round 650 (frontier 649).

      2. The owner calls finalizeCore().

      3. The core's roundPage starts reverting, and state() reports frontier 100650 from now on.

      4. bob buys 0.0001 ETH: lastSeenFrontier=100650.

      5. warp 8 days; failsafe().

Expected: the failsafe pays alice (the core has stalled for more than 7 days).

Actual: it reverts CoreNotStale(roundEnd(100650)+7d) and cumulativePaid=0.

The attached proof fails ('failsafe postponed by a future frontier: 0 <= 0').

Without step 3's bogus frontier, the frontier stays 649 and the same failsafe pays alice.

    • lowsetCore accepts any contract and any timeline: before finalizeCore the owner can steer the pot to their own buy with a self-made core, or push the failsafe a century out and then finalizesrc/HamsterNap3D.sol:210

Merges audit_economics #2, audit_flow #3 and audit_permissions #2. This answers the brief's first review question: what power does the owner have over the core. setCore checks only that configuration()/state() decode, that the duration is nonzero and that the frontier is not uint64.max. It does not bound genesis, the duration or the frontier against block.timestamp, and it does not tie the candidate to SqueekChain.

Because the new core sets nap starts, the owner can pick which recorded buy wins, including their own. That conflicts with 'no withdrawal' and 'nothing goes to the owner'. The launch notes disclose only that 'core selection can affect winners'.

A core whose genesis is in the future also makes failsafeOpensAt = genesis + 7 days. After finalizeCore that is permanent, so the failsafe guarantee is void. The brief does grant setCore, so I rate this low: a trust and disclosure issue.

Mitigations: reject genesis > block.timestamp and roundEnd(frontier) > block.timestamp; allow a switch only when the active core is stale, or add a delay; finalize promptly.

Ran locally (test/scratch, real PoolManager, all checks pass). alice buys 1 ETH; 1 h later the owner (tx.origin) buys 0.001 ETH at time t0; 1 h later bob buys 1 ETH, so bob is the honest latest buyer.

The owner deploys FakeCore{genesis=t0+1, roundDuration=1, frontier 0, roundPage certifies anything with no records} and calls setCore(fake): it succeeds, because the old core frontier 649 < scanRound 650.

Set the fake's frontier to 3; anyone calls settleNaps(1).

Logged: owner gain 20020000000000000 wei (alice's fee plus the owner's own), bob balance 0.

Expected per the brief: nothing goes to the owner.

      Second step: setCore(FakeCore{genesis=now+36500 days}) succeeds and failsafeOpensAt()-now = 3154204800 s (~100 years). finalizeCore() would make that permanent.

All four findings reproduced and are fixed. The three reviewer proofs now pass, the full suite is green with the verifier's fuzz seed, and forge fmt --check is clean.

What was wrong and what changed in src/HamsterNap3D.sol

    • Unreadable state() dropped a readable backlog. settleNaps and the old-core check in setCore now fall back to lastSeenFrontier when state() fails, so naps the hook saw certified stay payable and cannot be dropped while roundPage still answers. settleNaps still reverts CoreUnreadable when a page fails or when nothing seen is left to verify.
    • Advancing frontier with unreadable pages froze the pot. A failsafe() call that finds the clock shut, the frontier readable and the next page unreadable records the moment (pageFailureSeenAt, event PageFailureSeen) and returns instead of reverting. The failsafe opens seven days after that record. Any page a scan reads clears it, so a healthy core always shuts it again. I chose a persisted record over dating the clock from the last scan, because that version shifted the opening retroactively and broke the invariant model's cutoff.
    • A frontier for an unfinished round postponed the failsafe by years. _noteFrontier ignores, rather than clamps, any frontier at or past the running round.
    • Advisory on owner power. setCore now rejects a replacement whose genesis or frontier round is still ahead of the clock (InvalidGenesis, InvalidCoreFrontier). A switch can therefore delay the failsafe by at most seven days. The owner's ability to choose the core, and so the winners, is the brief's and stays, now stated plainly in the trust assumption.

Tests. New test/HamsterNap3D.recovery.t.sol holds ten tests for these paths. Existing tests whose mocks certified rounds before they ended were given warps to the rounds' ends. One old test that asserted the frozen-pot behaviour was rewritten to the new rule.

The setCore/finalizeCore tests pass again against the revised hook. Full forge test with the verifier's seed: 188 passed, 0 failed, 1 skipped. The skip is the existing optional fork suite, which has no fork configured here.

Why 5 of my tests broke: after my last round, another contributor tightened setCore:

    • A new core whose start time (genesis) is in the future is now refused.
    • So is one claiming to have settled a round that hasn't ended yet.
    • When the old core's state() can't be read, the hook now falls back to the last frontier it saw instead of dropping the old history.
    • A switch clears any recorded page failure, which resets the failsafe clock.

My fixtures had used a genesis one second in the future, which is now correctly refused. My random-sequence model also still expected the old drop-on-unreadable behaviour.

    What I changed:

    • test/HamsterNap3D.migration.t.sol: the new core's timeline now starts at the moment of the switch, with a one-second warp so the earlier buys still come before it. Each test checks the same thing as before.
    • test/independent/CoreMigrationHandler.sol: the model now follows the fallback rule. With state() unreadable, settling scans up to the last frontier the hook saw, and a switch is blocked while that page can still be read. It also asserts that no page failure is recorded during outages. Both random-sequence campaigns pass (256 runs × 96 calls each, zero unexpected reverts).
    • New test/HamsterNap3D.migration.timeline.t.sol, 10 tests, two of them fuzzed at 1,000 runs each:
      • A future genesis is refused and changes nothing; a genesis exactly at the switch is accepted.
      • A frontier ending exactly at the switch is accepted; one round later, or uint64 max, is refused.
      • Every accepted switch opens the failsafe exactly seven days later.
      • With old state() unreadable, a nap the hook already saw blocks the switch and can still be paid. Rounds it never saw are dropped, and so is history whose pages are unreadable too.
      • A switch clears a recorded page failure and restarts the clock.
      • After finalizeCore, a core that keeps advancing its frontier while no page can be read cannot keep the failsafe shut longer than seven days from the recorded failure.
      • A new core reporting a frontier for a round that hasn't ended is ignored.
    • test/CORE_MIGRATION_TESTS.md: updated to describe the above.

Test limitation: the test core's state() walks every round, so it runs out of gas on very large frontiers. Where that matters I return the frontier through a mocked call instead.

I found no defect in this scope, so there is no .imd-findings.json. Nothing outside test/ was changed, and nothing is committed.

The repository root has untracked files I did not create: .bashrc, .profile, .gitconfig, .gitmodules, .claude/, .mcp.json, .idea, .vscode and others. I left them alone. They should be kept out of the submission, especially .gitmodules, since a submission that leaves a submodule behind is rejected.

  11. ManifestAgent #443no changes

The manifest at launch.json is verified and needs no change. No findings accompanied this revision, so I checked it against the accepted source instead of rewriting it.

    What I verified

    • The first field is "kind": "univ4_hook" and the only top-level keys are kind, hook, token, pool and notes.
    • The hook constructor in src/HamsterNap3D.sol:185 takes the pool manager, the factory and the owner in that order. The manifest lists $poolManager, $factory, $owner in the same order, and the exported ABI agrees.
    • The declared permissions match getHookPermissions exactly: beforeInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta and afterSwapReturnDelta, nothing else.
    • beforeInitialize is restricted to the PoolManager, accepts only the factory as sender, requires native ETH as currency0 and does not restrict fee or tick spacing, so the listed fee of 12500 and tick spacing 60 are accepted.
    • The token section names NapToken with the name Hamster Nap 3D, symbol NAP and 18 decimals, matching the contract. It has no constructor arguments.
    • The pool section carries the launch facts as given: zero address pair, fee 12500, tick spacing 60, initial price 79228162514264337593543950336.
    • The notes are 2950 characters, under the 4000 cap, and every claim in them matched the source: the live core literal, genesis 1793735400, 600-second rounds, the 0.001 ETH qualifying buy, the seven-day failsafe, the eight-page failsafe scan limit, the CoreChanged and CoreFinalized events, and the absence of any owner power beyond setCore and finalizeCore.

    Checks

    forge build: ok
forge test (FOUNDRY_FUZZ_SEED=0x78af...4cc2): 188 passed, 0 failed, 1 skipped (fork test skips without an RPC URL)

The working tree is clean. No file other than the manifest is part of this assignment, and nothing else was touched.

  12. Audit judgeAgent #162found nothing

Review complete. .imd-findings.json is written and valid; the tree is untouched apart from test/scratch/ (my proofs/probes, not kept) and the findings file itself. The .zprofile/.zshrc entries are pre-existing untracked environment dotfiles, not mine.

    Settlement of the previous round

I ran all four attached proofs against the revised code (Foundry downloaded into scratch since forge was not reachable in the sandbox; the project builds clean and the suite passes 188/189, the one skip being the fork test without an RPC).

    FindingVerdictEvidence
c3cf4723 (medium) state() unreadable, readable pages, backlog > 8 pagesFixedProof_c3cf4723e2c3 and the specialist's Proof_78cd2b006520 both pass. settleNaps now falls back to lastSeenFrontier (src/HamsterNap3D.sol:391-400), and _requireOldCoreCaughtUp does the same (:724), so setCore reverts NapsUnsettled(650,653) in the variant. The author's choice to keep the failsafe's NapsUnsettled revert is sound now that settleNaps can always drain the backlog.
2e1a2744 (medium) frontier advancing, pages unreadableFixedProof_2e1a27442e83 passes: the first daily failsafe() records pageFailureSeenAt, the eighth pays alice after finalizeCore. The persisted record is cleared only by a readable page (:768), never by buys or frontier advances, so it cannot be reset by the condition it measures.
93968daa (medium) future frontier postpones failsafeFixedProof_93968daa4d1b passes; _noteFrontier ignores frontier >= currentRound() rather than clamping (:747).
dbab1a11 (low, advisory) setCore timelineFixed where fixableInvalidGenesis / InvalidCoreFrontier (:225-229) cap any switch's delay at 7 days. The winner-selection power is the brief's explicit grant; it is now disclosed in the README trust assumption and docs/CORE_MIGRATION.md. Stays a disclosed trust issue, nothing to reopen.

Fresh pass over the changed code

I read the new page-clock logic in failsafe() as new code and wrote four scratch tests for the edges the author's tests do not cover (all pass):

    • a page-clock payout followed by core recovery scans the same rounds without paying twice, and the hook stays backed;
    • an open-failsafe scan that reads a prefix, clears the record, then fails while state() is also dead still pays correctly;
    • a gas-starved failsafe() cannot record a page failure on a healthy core (EIP-150 leaves no gas for the SSTORE after an OOG page read);
    • a regressed reported frontier leaves scan progress intact.

Also verified: launch.json constructor args and permissions match the source, notes are 2,950 chars, and docs/abi/HamsterNap3D.json is identical to the compiled ABI (107/107 entries, pageFailureSeenAt and PageFailureSeen included). The static-analysis leads (strict equalities, uninitialized locals, withdrawOwed unchecked address = msg.sender) are benign on inspection.

No new findings. Coverage: all 21 entry points answered holds, plus four rows recording how each prior finding was settled.

    • Medium — bug: mobile EIP-6963 wallets disappear without window.ethereum. Retain discovered providers in the phone wallet sheet.
    • Medium — fidelity: redemption and failsafe transaction controls exceed the brief’s four permitted wallet actions. Remove those controls.
    • Low — accessibility: dismissing the claim wallet prompt focuses the header and scrolls from 977px to 0px. Restore focus to the invoking control.

Each finding includes an exact source snippet, the required change, and a measured reproduction.

    • mediumbug: mobile EIP-6963 wallets disappear without window.ethereumweb/src/Wallet.tsx:29

Now: the phone wallet sheet removes every discovered injected connector whenever the browser has no legacy window.ethereum, including an available EIP-6963 provider. Only external wallet links and Coinbase Smart Wallet remain.

Change to: retain discovered injected connectors on mobile; use the mobile check only to add wallet-browser links or hide an unavailable generic Browser wallet row.

Why: a mobile-first page must let visitors connect their available wallet. EIP-6963 discovery does not require the legacy global, and the current filter discards a provider the app has already discovered.

390 × 844, iPhone user agent: before loading the production export, register an eip6963:requestProvider listener that announces a valid provider (info.name="Mock Browser Wallet", a UUID, data-URI icon and rdns), implementing eth_accounts, eth_requestAccounts and eth_chainId, without setting window.ethereum.

      Open Connect to trade.

Measured dialog buttons: ["×","Coinbase Smart Wallet"]; injected provider rows: 0; four external Open in links remain.

With the identical announcement and a desktop user agent, the dialog includes "Mock Browser Wallet" (1 row); setting window.ethereum also restores that row on the phone.

Expected: the announced wallet is selectable on the phone without requiring the legacy global.

No signature or real transaction is needed.

    • mediumfidelity: the wallet utilities expose transactions beyond the four allowed actionsweb/src/App.tsx:173

Now: Refunds, pot claims & failsafe exposes Redeem pot claims (redeemClaims) and Claim failsafe (failsafe), in addition to trading, settled-nap claims and owed withdrawals. These are actual transaction controls.

Change to: remove the redemption and failsafe transaction buttons and their utility rows, letting the remaining withdrawal row and disclosure close the space. Keep the required failsafe rule and read-only information, and leave contract behavior unchanged.

Why: the approved website explicitly limits connected wallets to buying, selling, claiming a settled nap and withdrawing what they are owed, followed by "nothing else". The extra two entry points exceed that UI scope.

390 × 844: connect a mock Sepolia provider, with readable state, claimsHeld > 0, a past failsafe opening and a positive historical payout; scroll to Settle & collect and expand Refunds, pot claims & failsafe.

Actual transaction controls are Withdraw owed ETH, Redeem pot claims and Claim failsafe.

Measured in the production export: all three are enabled.

App.tsx:177 calls redeemClaims and :207 calls failsafe; the existing browser suite also verifies their mock submissions.

Expected: that disclosure offers the authorized owed withdrawal, without these two additional transaction actions.

No real wallet signature is required to inspect this mismatch.

    • lowaccessibility: closing the claim wallet prompt loses the invoking controlweb/src/Wallet.tsx:89

Now: closing any wallet prompt focuses the header wallet button, even when the visitor opened it from the claim section. This scrolls the page back to the header and loses their place.

Change to: remove the unconditional header-focus onClose handler and let the native dialog restore focus to its invoking control, or remember and restore that specific control when opening.

Why: keyboard visitors should resume the action they were performing after dismissing a dialog; closing a connection prompt should preserve their location.

390 × 844, disconnected production export with readable mocked game state: scroll to Settle & collect, focus/click Connect to claim, then press Escape.

      Measured before opening: scrollY=977 and claim-button rectangle y=504.78, height=44.

      After closing: document.activeElement.className="wallet-button", active text="Connect wallet", scrollY=0.

Expected: focus returns to Connect to claim and the claim section remains in view.

The same forced header focus occurs when the trade action opens the prompt.
