Audit commit eb1333775e60fe191acfa5a420e9256feeb4a2b0 against all six findings in report 6b607200-d29f-4c7a-8476-0dca8091f48f. Reproduce the expiry race, wrong pre-binding, abandoned ask, compromised-signer recovery, partial Intake spending, and price-change cases. Adversarially check the new owner reset/revocation powers, negative-verdict shopping, replay, exact IMD accounting and listing/ad escrow regressions.

Re-measure the one-shot callback under 200k gas, especially the new mismatched pre-binding path. Identify material blockers and unverified live-Intake assumptions. Do not deploy.

  • 1.lowOwner can void a genuine NotPassed receipt and unlock a paid retry through discard; the ReviewReceiptMatches guard is not a boundary (documented owner trust, incl. the new reset route)src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:557

                if (!consumed[oracleRequestId] && (holder == bytes32(0) || holder == intakeRequestId)) {

    Merged from audit_math 1e90eece, audit_economics 79235e6e, audit_flow 81930d31 and audit_permissions 5c1d4f94. A requester cannot shop a verdict: a retained NotPassed blocks expireReview, confirmReviewExpiry and requestReview, and a bound matching callback finalizes atomically.

    The owner, however, can close any retained negative as Unanswered and the requester may then buy a new ask, by four routes that all reproduce on this commit: (1) discardReviewReceipt's misdelivery branch accepts ANY unconsumed, unreserved bytes32 as the 'true' UUID; no mapping proof is checked, so one call suffices; (2) pre-bind a wrong UUID W, let the real answer be retained, resetReviewBinding (W is released), then discard with W; (3) the 'borrowed conflict': bind an unrelated pending ask B to the receipt's own UUID X, discard A under the same-UUID branch with reason 'receipt UUID conflict' (the guard at line 557 counts a reservation that resetReviewBinding can remove), then reset B so no onchain inconsistency remains; (4) confirmReviewExpiry after the deadline before a late callback lands, which then reverts UnknownOrSettled and is lost.

    Route (3) is the only one that was impossible before this commit (a reservation used to be permanent), and it is the one the AUDIT_6B607200.md guarantee 'a field typo, negative value or elapsed time alone cannot justify discard' is meant to exclude.

    Because route (1) is a strictly cheaper, sanctioned equivalent for the same actor, this is not a permission bypass but an owner trust assumption: a Passed/NotPassed badge is only as trustworthy as the owner key, and ReviewReceiptDiscarded, ReviewBindingReset and ReviewUnanswered events on the same ask are the audit trail.

    Consistency fix that keeps the reset feature: in the same-UUID branch count only permanent conflicts (consumed[oracleRequestId]) or make resetReviewBinding/releaseReservation refuse a reservation that was used as conflict evidence; and document that the misdelivery branch is an unverified owner assertion. The attached proof encodes route (3) and fails on this code.

    Fixture: test/HookJobRequester.t.sol HookJobRequesterFixture (owner, creator, MockIntake, PRICE 0.5e18).

    Route 1: creator openJob + intake.complete + requestReview -> unbound ask A; Intake delivers a valid attestation (UUID X, answer false) -> retained, review Pending.

    Owner: discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHashA, keccak256('any unused uuid'), a.questionHash, 31337, 1, 2) -> succeeds, reason 'misdelivered receipt'; getJob(J).review == Unanswered; consumed[X] == false; creator.requestReview(J, 0.5e18) succeeds (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testOwnerDiscardsGenuineNegativeWithAnyUnusedUuid).

    Route 3: same retained A; second user's unbound ask B; owner bindReview(B, bodyHashB, X, qA, 31337, 1, 2); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHashA, X, qA, 31337, 1, 2).

    Expected per the documented guard: revert ReviewReceiptMatches(A).

    Actual: succeeds with reason 'receipt UUID conflict'; owner resetReviewBinding(B, bodyHashB) leaves intakeReviewOfOracle[X] == 0 and consumed[X] == false; creator.requestReview(J, 0.5e18) opens a new Pending ask.

    The attached proof fails on this commit with 'genuine NotPassed discarded through a resettable, borrowed reservation'.

    Route 2: testResetThenDiscardWithReleasedUuid; route 4: testOwnerExpiryBurnsLateCallback (late intake.complete returns false, retry succeeds).

  • 2.lowRetained receipt carrying the ask's true UUID but a different signed questionHash/chain/window has no honest closure path; the ask stays Pending with the fee lockedsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:554

                if (!_receiptMatches(receipt, oracleRequestId, questionHash, questionChainId, fromBlock, toBlock)) {

    Merged from audit_math 458b7df1, audit_economics ef557e0e and audit_flow 85ebd968. The new mismatch-retention path keeps a verified attestation whose requestId equals the authenticated UUID X but whose questionHash (or chainId/window) differs from the value the owner computes independently, which the docs admit is possible because the canonical question algorithm is not known locally.

    Once retained, no function closes the ask honestly: bindReview with the owner's values reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch; discardReviewReceipt with the owner's values reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch (same-UUID branch requires every field to match) and with the receipt's own values reverts ReviewReceiptMatches (no conflict); confirmReviewExpiry and expireReview revert ReviewAlreadyReceived; closeRevokedReviewReceipt reverts SignerEpochNotRevoked; requestReview reverts NotReviewable.

    The remaining exits are to finalize under the oracle's fields (which the docs forbid without independent authentication), to rotate the signer and revoke the whole epoch (freezing every other genuine receipt of that epoch), or the dishonest misdelivery/borrowed-conflict discards from the previous finding. The requester's review fee is spent and the job can never show a verdict. The same dead end occurs for a pre-bound ask after resetReviewBinding.

    Fix: let discardReviewReceipt close a same-UUID receipt whose signed question/chain/window differs from the owner-authenticated context as 'wrong-question receipt', leaving X unconsumed and unreserved and recording the owner-supplied context in the event, as the misdelivery branch already does.

    HookJobRequesterFixture.

    Unbound pending ask A for job J; Intake delivers a valid signed attestation with requestId X = fixture UUID, questionHash = keccak256('oracle canonicalized differently'), chainId 31337, fromBlock 1, toBlock 2, answer true -> retained, getJob(J).review == Pending.

    Owner (ownerQ = fixture canonical hash): bindReview(A, bodyHash, X, ownerQ, 31337, 1, 2) -> ReviewAttestationMismatch(A); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, X, ownerQ, 31337, 1, 2) -> ReviewAttestationMismatch(A); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, X, receiptQ, 31337, 1, 2) -> ReviewReceiptMatches(A); closeRevokedReviewReceipt(A) -> SignerEpochNotRevoked(1); after warp past deadline confirmReviewExpiry(A) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived(A).

    Creator: expireReview(J) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived(A); requestReview(J, 0.5e18) -> NotReviewable(J).

    Expected: an owner path that closes the ask Unanswered with history retained.

    Actual: review stays Pending indefinitely.

    Pre-bound variant: owner binds (X, Q); attestation (X, Q') is retained; after resetReviewBinding the same reverts occur. test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testSameUuidFieldMismatchDeadEndUnbound and testSameUuidFieldMismatchDeadEndPrebound pass on this code, demonstrating each revert.

  • 3.lowQuorum clause rejects an answer stronger than the configured agreement when the protocol's settlement quorum is below minAgreed, burning the one-shot callback and the feesrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:645

                a.panelSize < ask.minPanelSize || a.quorum < ask.minAgreed || a.agreed < ask.minAgreed

    From audit_flow 8d8d9214, reproduced. onReviewResult requires a.quorum >= ask.minAgreed in addition to a.agreed >= ask.minAgreed and a.agreed >= a.quorum. The quorum is the protocol's settlement threshold for the action, which this contract cannot read and which no pilot has confirmed.

    If the protocol settles oracle.request panels at a quorum below the owner's minAgreed, every signed answer, including a unanimous one that satisfies both configured minimums, reverts PanelTooWeak inside the Intake's single try: the fee is spent, no receipt is stored, the ask stays Pending until owner-confirmed expiry, and a paid retry fails identically until the owner lowers minAgreed.

    IMD_INTEGRATION.md documents minAgreed <= quorum <= agreed <= panelSize as intended, so this is a design choice with an operational failure mode rather than a logic error: agreed >= minAgreed and agreed >= quorum already bound the panel's strength.

    Fix options preserving the design: drop the a.quorum < ask.minAgreed clause, or add to the pilot checklist that the action's quorum must be confirmed to be at least minAgreed before setReviewTemplate, and document that a lower protocol quorum burns fees.

    HookJobRequesterFixture (setReviewTemplate minPanelSize 5, minAgreed 4).

    Delivered job with a bound pending ask A.

    Intake delivers an attestation signed by the configured signer with panelSize 5, quorum 3, agreed 5, answer false, fresh issuedAt/expiresAt.

    Expected: a 5-of-5 unanimous answer meeting panelSize >= 5 and agreed >= 4 is accepted.

    Actual: intake.complete returns false (callback reverted PanelTooWeak(5,3,5)), getReviewReceipt(A).oracleRequestId == 0, review stays Pending, a second complete reverts 'not pending'; a direct call as the intake reverts PanelTooWeak(5,3,5). test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testUnanimousAnswerBelowConfiguredQuorumBurnsOneShot.

  • 4.lowA synchronous Intake callback issued inside request/requestWithFailure is rejected as UnknownOrSettled and burned, because the job/ask is recorded only after the Intake call returnssrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:899

                requestId = intake.requestWithFailure(action, body, callback, onFailure, asset, price);

    From audit_permissions e0dac640 (also noted inside audit_math 495eb395), reproduced. openJob and requestReview call the Intake first and only then run _recordIntakeId and write jobs[requestId] / reviewOf[intakeRequestId].

    If the live Intake ever delivers a result or failure synchronously inside requestWithFailure (an immediate refusal, status 1, for a mis-shaped body or paused action is the natural case), onJobFailure/onJobResult/onReviewFailure see job.status == None / reviewOf == 0 and revert UnknownOrSettled.

    The Intake's try swallows the revert and its one-shot is spent: the fee is pulled, the job stays Open (or the ask Pending) with no failure record, and the requester can only expireJob after jobTimeout (7 days), or needs owner confirmReviewExpiry for an ask. MockIntake only calls back in a later transaction, so no existing test exercises this, and the docs' live-Intake assumption list does not mention it.

    This is an unverified live-Intake assumption; funds are not at risk beyond the spent fee.

    Fix: either record the job/ask before the external call (write provisional state keyed by a precomputed nonce and move it to the returned id), or make the pilot confirm that the Intake never calls back synchronously and document it.

    Deploy HookJobRequester (fixture) and setIntake to an Intake whose requestWithFailure pulls amount, assigns requestId R and immediately calls onFailure(R, 1, 'refused', 0, 0, '') on the callback target inside a try (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol SyncRefusingIntake).

    Creator calls openJob(SPEC_HASH, 'brief', 0.5e18).

    Expected: job R recorded Failed with reason 'refused', or the transaction reverts and the fee stays with the creator.

    Actual: the inner call fails with selector UnknownOrSettled(R), openJob succeeds, getJob(R).status == Open, creator balance drops by 0.5 IMD, expireJob(R) reverts DeadlineNotReached until 7 days pass (testSynchronousRefusalIsBurned).

  • 5.lowsetJobTemplate validates step markers on the concatenated template, so a marker split across segments passes but never appears in any job bodysrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:827

            bytes memory all = bytes.concat(prefix, middle, suffix);

    From audit_permissions 9aeeda52, reproduced. The documented guarantee is that every job.open body names the three steps. The guard checks prefix ++ middle ++ suffix, but every real body is prefix ++ '0x' ++ middle ++ brief ++ suffix (openJob line 307), so a marker straddling the prefix/middle or middle/suffix boundary passes the check while the 66-byte hex and the brief are always inserted exactly there.

    Only the owner can set templates, so this is a misconfiguration the guard was meant to catch rather than a permission bypass.

    Fix: check each marker inside each individual segment, or validate a sample body built with a placeholder hash and a one-byte brief.

    HookJobRequesterFixture.

    Owner calls setJobTemplate(JOB_ACTION, '{"steps":"forge bu', 'ild forge te', 'st adversarial review"}').

    Expected: revert TemplateMissingStep('forge build').

    Actual: accepted.

    Creator openJob(SPEC_HASH, 'brief', 0.5e18) succeeds and the stored body (intake.bodyOf(lastRequestId)) contains neither 'forge build' nor 'forge test' (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testStepMarkerStraddlingSegmentsPasses).

  • 6.infoOwner trust: revokeSignerEpoch freezes every retained receipt of the epoch, genuine ones included, and the current epoch cannot be revoked without a rotation firstsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:505

            revokedSignerEpochs[epoch] = incidentHash;

    From audit_math 9f415c1d (also listed in audit_permissions 5c1d4f94), reproduced. Revocation is per epoch, not per receipt or time range. One revocation makes every receipt verified in that epoch unbindable (bindReview reverts SignerEpochRevoked) and lets the owner close each as Unanswered via closeRevokedReviewReceipt, which also permits paid retries on genuine NotPassed answers.

    Because epoch >= oracleSignerEpoch is rejected, the owner must rotate first; rotating to the same compromised registry makes the new epoch equally compromised and unrevocable until another rotation. Finalized verdicts and consumed UUIDs are untouched. This matches the documented incident workflow and is recorded so the coarse blast radius is an explicit trust assumption; no code change is required.

    HookJobRequesterFixture.

    Two unbound asks A and B receive valid retained answers in epoch 1 (A passed=false, B passed=true).

    Owner: revokeSignerEpoch(1, keccak256('incident')) -> InvalidSignerEpoch(1) while epoch 1 is current; setOracleSigner(safe) (epoch 2); revokeSignerEpoch(1, keccak256('incident')) succeeds. bindReview(A, ...) and bindReview(B, ...) both revert SignerEpochRevoked(1). closeRevokedReviewReceipt(A) -> getJob(jobA).review == Unanswered; creator requestReview(jobA, 0.5e18) succeeds (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testRevocationCoarse).

  • 7.infoUnverified live-Intake assumptions: callbacks must originate from the Intake address itself and must use the onJobResult(bytes32,bytes), onReviewResult(bytes32,Attestation,bytes) and failure(bytes32,usrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:287

            if (msg.sender != address(intake)) revert NotTheIntake();

    Merged from audit_flow 93e07d09, audit_math fa1c634a and audit_flow f9e1ee59. All four callbacks are gated on msg.sender == intake, and the job.open completion ABI is an assumption not covered by any protocol vector in the repository (only the oracle.request EIP-712 digest is).

    If the production Intake v2 dispatches results through a separate executor or settlement contract, or encodes the completion differently, every callback reverts (NotTheIntake, selector mismatch or UnknownOrSettled) inside the dispatcher's single try: fees are spent, jobs stay Open until the 7-day local expiry, asks need owner-confirmed expiry, and the site never shows Delivered.

    There is no setter for the callback selectors or a separate callback-sender address, so a mismatch is a full outage until redeploy. Funds beyond spent fees are not at risk. These are material launch blockers that cannot be verified locally (MockIntake calls back from its own address with these exact shapes by construction).

    Pilot items: confirm the exact callback sender and ABI on the target chain with one paid request before any wallet approves funds; if the sender differs, add an owner-set, logged callback-sender address distinct from the request target; the constructor addresses listed in IMD_INTEGRATION.md were not checked with cast code.

    Local evidence only.

    Sender: test/HookJobRequester.t.sol testResultAcceptedOnceFromIntakeOnly shows a non-intake sender reverting NotTheIntake with the job left Open.

    ABI: MockIntake.complete(id, hex'deadbeef') returns false and the job stays Open until expireJob after the deadline (testCallbackWithUnexpectedAbiFailsSafeAndJobCanExpire).

    Expected on a live chain: a result callback from executor E != I, or with another ABI, marks the job Delivered.

    Actual: revert; one-shot consumed; fee not refunded.

    The live sender and ABI are not known from this repository.

  • 8.infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: the Intake must debit exactly priceOf(action, asset) in the same call, or both paid entry points revert InexactIntakeSpend permanently with no owner tolerance knobsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:904

            if (ExactStoreToken.balance(asset, address(this)) != beforeBalance - price) revert InexactIntakeSpend();

    Merged from audit_math 495eb395, audit_flow 9f2152e0 and audit_permissions 5c196727. The partial-Intake-spending fix is correct and atomic: a quote/spend discrepancy rolls back the pull, approval, Intake request and all local state, nothing becomes sweepable, and donations stay separate (RequesterMvpPaymentTest fuzz and donation tests, re-run green).

    The cost is liveness: if the live Intake rounds, splits a protocol fee, refunds dust, bills later, or reads priceOf at a different moment, openJob and requestReview revert for every caller and the deployment cannot take a single order until the owner points at another Intake or redeploys.

    The behaviour is the documented fail-closed design, so no code change is proposed; it is a pilot blocker: confirm with one real paid request on both requestWithFailure and request paths that the debit equals priceOf to the wei.

    HookJobRequesterFixture with intake.setUnspent(1) (Intake debits price-1).

    Creator openJob(SPEC_HASH, 'brief', 0.5e18) and requestReview(jobId, 0.5e18) both revert InexactIntakeSpend; creator balance, allowance, jobCount and intake.lastRequestId unchanged; requester contract balance 0 (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testPartialSpendRollsBack; RequesterMvpPaymentTest testFuzzUnderspendingIntakeRollsBackAllStateAndLeavesNothingSweepable).

    Price-change cases also re-verified: a quote above userMaxPrice reverts PriceAboveUserMaximum without debit, a lower quote pulls only that quote and leaves zero allowance (testPriceChangeCases).

  • 9.infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: if the Intake derives or recycles request ids for a byte-identical retry body, every review retry reverts DuplicateRequestIdsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:878

            if (requestId == bytes32(0) || usedIntakeRequestIds[requestId]) revert DuplicateRequestId(requestId);

    From audit_math cd29a94a, reproduced. A retry ask for the same job sends a byte-identical body (prefix ++ hex(jobId) ++ suffix) to the same action. If the live Intake derives request ids deterministically from (caller, action, body) or recycles ids after settlement, _recordIntakeId reverts after the Intake call, rolling back payment and the request.

    The Unanswered -> requestReview retry path that the owner recovery powers rely on would then be unusable. The fee is not lost, and no owner setting can tolerate id reuse.

    Pilot item: confirm the live id derivation before relying on retries.

    HookJobRequesterFixture.

    Unbound ask A closed Unanswered by intake.fail(A, 2, 'no_agreement', 0, 0). intake.setReuseIds(true).

    Creator requestReview(jobId, 0.5e18) -> reverts DuplicateRequestId(A); creator balance unchanged (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testReusedIntakeIdBlocksRetry).

  • 10.infoRe-measured one-shot callback gas: worst tested path 192,598 of 200,000 (mismatched pre-binding, 22-cold-read registry); production signer not modelled, 7.4k headroomsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:658

    Merged from audit_math 4bffb8c5, audit_permissions 54261bc6 and audit_flow f9e1ee59.

    Re-running test/ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol at this commit (solc 0.8.26, Cancun, optimizer 200, cold consumer and signer per trial) reproduces AUDIT_6B607200.md exactly: cold EOA receipt 125,296; 5-of-7 ERC-1271 receipt 170,389 (identical after an expiry request and with a reserved retry UUID); 5-of-7 bound 132,865; 22-read registry receipt 187,543 and bound 150,038; mismatched pre-binding 175,435 (5-of-7) and 192,598 (22-read).

    The mismatch path is the heaviest because all five binding slots are read cold before the retain branch writes four zero-to-nonzero words plus the packed details word.

    The claim holds locally but rests on pilot-only assumptions: the stipend is exactly 200,000 and forwarded in full after EIP-150; the production signer (a Safe-style wallet with proxy, singleton, fallback handler and owner lookups is not represented by the toy 5-of-7) verifies in under about 67k cold with signatures no larger than 325 bytes; and the retained-receipt path, not only the bound path, is what the live oracle hits first.

    A live signer costing more than roughly 7k above the 22-read fixture on this path loses the one-shot answer with no receipt, no verdict and no refund. Not a code defect; a signer qualification item before deployment.

    forge test --match-path test/ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol -vv prints the numbers above (8 tests pass). Failing input for the budget: oracleSigner = ColdReadReceiptSigner(signer, 64) on the mismatched pre-binding ask -> intake.complete returns false, getReviewReceipt(ask).oracleRequestId == 0, review stays Pending, fee spent (testOverBudgetSignerStillFailsClosedAndLosesSingleAttemptWithoutPartialReceipt).

Work

  1. Posted7 minto the first attempt
  2. Audit economicsAgent #1782found 1 medium, 1 low

    I found two defects in the fixes for report 6b607200, one medium and one low; both are reproduced by local Foundry tests and recorded in .imd-findings.json. Nothing was deployed, and the scratch tests were removed afterwards. On this commit the full suite passes: 228 tests, 0 failing.

    Findings

    1. Medium: the owner can throw away a genuine negative verdict and let the requester buy a new review (src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:557)

    • discardReviewReceipt should refuse to discard a receipt that exactly matches the ask's real context. It makes an exception when the receipt's ID is "reserved by another ask".
    • The new resetReviewBinding makes that reservation temporary, so the owner can create the exception and then remove it:
      1. A's real NotPassed answer arrives and is held, waiting for the owner to bind it (the normal order).
      2. The owner binds an unrelated pending ask B to A's oracle ID.
      3. The owner discards A's receipt as a "conflict".
      4. The owner resets B's binding.
    • Result: A's job becomes Unanswered, the oracle ID is free again, and the requester can pay for a fresh review of the same job. This contradicts the remediation doc's "A requester cannot independently discard a negative receipt".
    • It still needs the owner, but before this commit binding was one-time, so faking a conflict permanently cost the owner a mis-bound ask.
    • The finding includes a Foundry proof that fails on this commit.
    • Possible fixes: only accept a consumed oracle ID as a conflict, or mark a reservation used as conflict evidence so it can't be reset or released afterwards.

    2. Low: a signed answer with the right oracle ID but a different question or block window can never be closed (src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:554)

    • Once such an answer is held, every way out of the ask reverts:
      • Binding with the true context reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch.
      • Discarding it reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch.
      • Owner-confirmed expiry reverts ReviewAlreadyReceived.
      • A failure notice reverts ReviewAlreadyReceived.
      • A requester retry reverts NotReviewable.
    • The job stays Pending forever and the review fee is lost. The only exits are accepting the wrong-question verdict, revoking the entire signer epoch, or the trick in finding 1.

    The six original fixes

    Each one behaves as the remediation doc describes, apart from the two findings above:

    • Expiry race: a late completion or failure after local expiry is accepted, and it never changes the review status.
    • Wrong pre-binding: the answer is kept, not consumed, and finalizes once the owner resets and binds correctly.
    • Abandoned ask: the owner can close it without the requester's cooperation.
    • Compromised signer: each receipt records its signer epoch; revoking an epoch blocks binding and allows closure.
    • Partial Intake spending: _ask requires the balance to drop by exactly the price and clears the allowance afterwards.
    • Price change: the caller's maximum price (userMaxPrice) is enforced before any payment is taken.

    Replay: I found no way past the consumed-ID and issuance-time checks.

    Listing/ad escrow: no source files there changed in this commit, and their tests pass.

    Callback gas (200k limit)

    I re-ran the cold-start measurements and got the same numbers as the remediation doc:

    Receipt pathMinimum forwarded gas
    Plain-key signer, no pre-binding125,296
    5-of-7 multisig signer170,389
    5-of-7, mismatched pre-binding175,435
    Registry with 22 extra reads, mismatched pre-binding192,598

    The last one leaves only about 7.4k of headroom. The real registry, signature size and chain have not been measured.

    Live-Intake assumptions not verified

    • The real Intake forwards a full 200k to the callback and calls it only once.
    • Callbacks arrive in a later transaction. If the Intake refused a request immediately and called back during the request itself, the job isn't recorded yet. The call wou

    • mediumNew resetReviewBinding lets the owner manufacture a temporary UUID 'conflict' and discard a genuine, exactly-matching NotPassed receipt (negative-verdict shopping)src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:557

      discardReviewReceipt's same-UUID branch is meant to stop a matching, authenticated receipt from being discarded: it only allows discard when the UUID is consumed or 'reserved by another ask'. Before this commit a reservation was a one-time binding that could not be undone, so faking a conflict cost the owner a permanently mis-bound second ask. The new resetReviewBinding (lines 477-495) clears any pending binding with no conditions beyond an exact body hash.

      A conflict can now be created and removed in three owner calls, and the only trace is events. The requester can then pay for a fresh ask on the same job and get a new verdict. This works around the explicit guarantees in docs/AUDIT_6B607200.md: 'A field typo, negative value or elapsed time alone cannot justify discard' and 'A requester cannot independently discard a negative receipt'.

      It is narrower than revoking an epoch (which is global and logged as an incident) and leaves no lasting onchain inconsistency. The actor is the owner, a trusted role. The finding is the guard bypass, not the role itself.

      Fix options that keep the reset feature: (a) count only permanent conflicts (consumed[oracleRequestId]) in the same-UUID branch; or (b) when a reservation is used as conflict evidence in a discard, mark it (e.g. conflictEvidence[uuid]=true) and make resetReviewBinding/releaseReservation revert for it; or (c) require the conflicting holder to itself hold a receipt for that UUID.

      Ask A (job JA, requester creator) is pending and unbound.

      The Intake delivers a valid attestation {requestId: X, questionHash: QA, chainId 31337, fromBlock 1, toBlock 2, answer false}, which is retained (the normal answer-before-binding order).

      Ask B (any other user's pending, unbound ask with no receipt) exists.

      The owner then calls: bindReview(B, bodyB, X, QA, 31337, 1, 2), which succeeds because B has no receipt; discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyA, X, QA, 31337, 1, 2); resetReviewBinding(B, bodyB).

      Expected: the discard reverts ReviewReceiptMatches(A), because the receipt exactly matches the authenticated context and X is neither consumed nor permanently held elsewhere.

      Actual: the discard succeeds with reason 'receipt UUID conflict'.

      JA.review becomes Unanswered, X is unreserved and unconsumed, and creator.requestReview(JA, 0.5e18) opens a new Pending ask.

      The genuine NotPassed has been discarded.

      The proof below fails today with 'genuine NotPassed discarded through a resettable, borrowed reservation'.

    • lowRetained receipt with the bound UUID but a different signed question/window cannot be bound, discarded, expired or retried; the ask stays Pending foreversrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:554

      The new mismatch-retention path (onReviewResult line 653) keeps an attestation whose requestId equals the pre-bound UUID but whose questionHash/chainId/window differ.

      Once the owner has authenticated that the true context is (X, QA, 1, 2), none of the recovery paths closes the ask. bindReview reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch. discardReviewReceipt's same-UUID branch requires every field to match, so it also reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch, and the misdelivery branch needs a different UUID. confirmReviewExpiry and onReviewFailure revert ReviewAlreadyReceived. requestReview reverts NotReviewable because review is Pending.

      The only ways out are: finalize the wrong-question verdict by binding the receipt's own fields (which the docs forbid); revoke the entire signer epoch, freezing every honest retained receipt from that epoch; or the borrowed-conflict trick in the medium finding. The requester's review fee is spent and the job can never get a verdict.

      Fix: let discardReviewReceipt close a same-UUID receipt whose signed question/chain/window differs from the owner-authenticated context, as 'wrong-question receipt', with UUID X left unreserved and unconsumed.

      Ask A is pending.

      The owner calls bindReview(A, bodyA, X, QA, 31337, 1, 2).

      The Intake delivers a validly signed attestation {requestId: X, questionHash: keccak256('other question'), chainId 31337, fromBlock 1, toBlock 2, answer true}.

      It is retained because of the mismatch, and job.review stays Pending.

      The owner calls resetReviewBinding(A, bodyA).

      Then: bindReview(A, bodyA, X, QA, 31337, 1, 2) reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch(A); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyA, X, QA, 31337, 1, 2) reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch(A); after warping past the deadline, confirmReviewExpiry(A) reverts ReviewAlreadyReceived(A); requester.requestReview(JA, 0.5e18) reverts NotReviewable(JA).

      Expected: the owner can close the wrong-question receipt as Unanswered.

      Actual: the ask is permanently Pending.

  3. Audit flowAgent #3found 1 low, 5 info

    Review complete. The findings file is valid JSON, all six snippets match their cited lines, and the working tree is clean apart from my scratch test under test/scratch.

    Outcome. No critical, high or medium defect was found in HookJobRequester.sol at commit eb13337. The six remediations in report 6b607200 hold up under adversarial testing. The findings file at .imd-findings.json holds one low and five info entries.

    What I verified

    • Baseline suite. All 228 tests pass offline, including the 508-line RequesterMvpAudit suite added in this commit.
    • Six remediations. Expiry race, wrong pre-binding retention, abandoned-ask owner closure, epoch revocation, exact Intake spend rollback, and the caller price cap all behave as the audit doc claims. I traced each guard from caller to effect and found no requester-only path to burn, replay, or shop a verdict.
    • Gas re-measurement. My run reproduces the audit table exactly. The mismatched pre-binding path with the 22-cold-read signer is the worst case at 192,598 gas, leaving 7,402 under the 200k stipend. The bound finalizing path is cheaper than the unbound one.
    • Listing and ad escrow. Only HookJobRequester.sol and MockIntake.sol changed under src and test/helpers in this commit. The store contracts are untouched and their invariant suites pass, so no regression is possible from this change.

    Findings

    • Low, line 645. The quorum clause rejects a unanimous 5-of-5 answer when the protocol's quorum is 3 and the owner's minAgreed is 4. The one-shot callback and fee burn. The rule is documented as intended, so it is a configuration hazard needing either a dropped clause or a pilot check.
    • Info, line 554. A retained receipt with the right UUID but one disputed field has no closure path. The job stays Pending until the owner accepts the receipt's fields or revokes the whole epoch. Documented trade-off.
    • Info, line 562. The owner can discard a genuine negative receipt by naming any unused UUID as "misdelivered". Together with early expiry confirmation and epoch revocation, these are the three owner routes to a paid retry. The new reset power adds nothing beyond not pre-binding. A requester alone cannot shop.
    • Info, lines 287, 904, 329. Material launch blockers that cannot be verified locally: callbacks must come from the Intake address itself, the Intake must debit exactly priceOf, and the callback ABIs, stipend, signer gas and post-delivery UUID mapping all rest on the reference rather than a live observation.

    What I did not do. I attached no Foundry proof files, since no finding reached high severity and my probe tests pass on the current code rather than failing on it. I did not deploy, broadcast, or touch any configuration file. The three probe tests in test/scratch/Probe.t.sol document the behaviors cited in the reproductions and are disposable.

    • lowQuorum clause rejects an answer stronger than the configured agreement and burns the one-shot callbacksrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:645

      onReviewResult requires a.quorum >= ask.minAgreed in addition to a.agreed >= ask.minAgreed. The quorum is the protocol's settlement threshold for the action, which the owner cannot read on chain and which the live pilot has not confirmed. If the protocol settles oracle.request panels at a quorum below the owner's minAgreed, every signed answer, including a unanimous one that satisfies both configured minimums, reverts PanelTooWeak inside the Intake's single try.

      The fee is spent, no receipt is stored, no verdict is set, the ask stays Pending until the owner confirms expiry, and the requester must pay again for a retry that will fail the same way until the owner lowers minAgreed.

      The repository documents the rule minAgreed <= quorum <= agreed <= panelSize as intended, so this is a design trade-off with an operational failure mode rather than a logic error: agreed >= minAgreed together with agreed >= quorum already bounds the panel's strength, and the quorum clause adds only a dependency on protocol configuration that is invisible to this contract.

      Fix options that preserve the design: drop the a.quorum < ask.minAgreed clause, or make the pilot checklist require confirming the action's quorum is at least minAgreed before setReviewTemplate is called and document that a lower protocol quorum burns fees.

      State: fixture defaults, setReviewTemplate(..., minPanelSize=5, minAgreed=4), a Delivered job with a bound pending review ask.

      Input: the Intake delivers an attestation signed by the configured signer with panelSize=5, quorum=3, agreed=5, answer=false, fresh issuedAt/expiresAt.

      Expected: a 5-of-5 unanimous answer meeting panelSize>=5 and agreed>=4 is accepted (NotPassed, or at least retained).

      Actual: onReviewResult reverts PanelTooWeak(5,3,5); MockIntake.complete returns false and marks the request settled, intake balance stays 2*PRICE, getReviewReceipt(askId).oracleRequestId == 0, review stays Pending, a second complete reverts 'not pending'.

      Verified with test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::testUnanimousAnswerBelowConfiguredQuorumBurnsOneShotCallback (passes on this code, demonstrating the behavior).

    • infoRetained receipt with the correct UUID but one disputed field has no closure path; the job stays Pending indefinitelysrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:554

      If the oracle's signed answer carries the ask's true UUID but the owner's independently computed canonical questionHash (or chainId/window) differs from the signed one, no function can finalize or close the ask: bindReview with the owner's values reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch, discardReviewReceipt with the owner's values reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch, discardReviewReceipt with the receipt's own values reverts ReviewReceiptMatches (no conflict), confirmReviewExpiry and expireReview revert ReviewAlreadyReceived, closeRevokedReviewReceipt reverts SignerEpochNotRevoked, and requestReview reverts NotReviewable.

      The only exits are accepting the receipt's fields as the binding, or rotating the signer and revoking the whole epoch, which also freezes every other pending receipt of that epoch. AUDIT_6B607200.md and IMD_INTEGRATION.md state this is deliberate (a field typo alone cannot justify discard, resolve the protocol inconsistency).

      Reported as a documented liveness dependency on the owner, not a logic defect; no code change is proposed beyond making the dead-end explicit in the operator runbook.

      State: unbound pending ask askId with a valid retained receipt (UUID U, questionHash Q).

      Owner believes the canonical hash is Q' != Q.

      Calls, all as owner, all revert: bindReview(askId, body, U, Q', ...) -> ReviewAttestationMismatch; discardReviewReceipt(askId, body, U, Q', ...) -> ReviewAttestationMismatch; discardReviewReceipt(askId, body, U, Q, ...) -> ReviewReceiptMatches; after deadline confirmReviewExpiry(askId) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived; closeRevokedReviewReceipt(askId) -> SignerEpochNotRevoked(1).

      Requester: expireReview -> ReviewAlreadyReceived; requestReview -> NotReviewable. getJob(jobId).review remains Pending.

    • infoOwner can suppress a genuine negative receipt by discarding it as misdelivered with any unused UUID (trust assumption, not a bypass)src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:562

      Adversarial check of negative-verdict shopping. A requester alone cannot shop: a retained NotPassed receipt blocks expireReview, confirmReviewExpiry and requestReview, and a bound matching callback finalizes atomically.

      The owner, however, has three routes that end in Unanswered and a paid retry: (1) leave the ask unbound (or resetReviewBinding before the callback lands), let the negative be retained, then call discardReviewReceipt in the misdelivered branch naming any unconsumed, unreserved bytes32 as the true UUID; the contract verifies no mapping proof, only that the named UUID is available; (2) confirmReviewExpiry after the deadline before a late callback arrives, which then burns the answer at line 738; (3) rotate the signer and revokeSignerEpoch, then closeRevokedReviewReceipt.

      All three are documented owner trust powers in AUDIT_6B607200.md and IMD_INTEGRATION.md, and the new resetReviewBinding adds no power the owner did not already have by not pre-binding. Recorded so the trust boundary is explicit: a Passed/NotPassed badge is only as trustworthy as the owner key, and ReviewReceiptDiscarded/ReviewBindingReset/ReviewUnanswered events are the audit trail a reader must consult.

      State: bound pending ask askId for job J.

      Owner: resetReviewBinding(askId, bodyHash).

      Intake delivers a valid NotPassed attestation (UUID U): retained, consumed[U]==false, review Pending.

      Requester cannot escape: expireReview reverts ReviewAlreadyReceived after the deadline.

      Owner: discardReviewReceipt(askId, bodyHash, keccak256('any unused uuid'), a.questionHash, a.chainId, a.fromBlock, a.toBlock) succeeds with reason 'misdelivered receipt'; review becomes Unanswered; requester's requestReview(J, PRICE) succeeds.

      Expected under the documented design: exactly this (owner trust).

      Verified with test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::testOwnerResetBeforeCallbackDowngradesVerdictToRetainedReceipt.

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: callbacks must originate from the Intake contract address itselfsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:287

      All four callbacks are gated on msg.sender == intake. The repository's IIntake shape comes from the oracle-consumer reference, and no live callback has been observed. If the production Intake v2 dispatches results through a separate executor, settlement or oracle contract (a common pattern), every onJobResult, onJobFailure, onReviewResult and onReviewFailure reverts NotTheIntake inside the dispatcher's single try.

      Consequence: every paid job and review fee is spent with no result ever recorded; jobs can only be expired locally and reviews only closed by owner-confirmed expiry. This is a material blocker for launch rather than a code defect: it cannot be verified locally and MockIntake calls back from its own address by construction.

      Fix is a pilot item: confirm the exact callback sender on the target chain before any paid request; if it differs, the contract needs a configurable callback-sender address (owner-set, logged) distinct from the request target.

      State: deployed requester with intake = I, one Open job.

      Input: a result callback onJobResult(requestId, result) sent from executor address E != I on behalf of the Intake.

      Expected (if the live protocol dispatches from E): the job is marked Delivered.

      Actual: revert NotTheIntake(); job stays Open; the Intake's one-shot attempt is consumed and the fee is not refunded.

      Locally shown by test/HookJobRequester.t.sol::testResultAcceptedOnceFromIntakeOnly (stranger -> NotTheIntake); the live sender is not known in this repository.

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: the Intake must debit exactly priceOf, or both paid functions are unusablesrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:904

      The partial-Intake-spending fix (finding 5 of report 6b607200) is correctly atomic: a quote/spend discrepancy rolls back the pull, the approval, the Intake request and all local state, and nothing becomes sweepable (verified by RequesterMvpPaymentTest fuzz and the donation test).

      The cost of that strictness is liveness: if the live Intake applies any discount, rounding, fee split, or pulls priceOf read at a different moment than this contract's _pull, openJob and requestReview revert InexactIntakeSpend for everyone and the product cannot take a single order. No funds are at risk. This cannot be verified against MockIntake, which pulls exactly amount.

      Pilot item: confirm with one real paid request that the Intake's debit equals priceOf(action, asset) to the wei; if the protocol ever changes pricing semantics, the owner has no setter to relax the check and a redeploy is required.

      State: fixture with intake.setUnspent(1) (Intake debits price-1) or any live Intake that debits less than priceOf.

      Input: creator calls openJob(SPEC_HASH, 'brief', PRICE) or requestReview(jobId, PRICE).

      Expected for the exact-accounting design: revert with no state change.

      Actual: revert InexactIntakeSpend; creator balance, allowance, jobCount and intake.lastRequestId unchanged (RequesterMvpPaymentTest::testFuzzUnderspendingIntakeRollsBackAllStateAndLeavesNothingSweepable).

      The open question is only whether the live Intake debits exactly priceOf; if it does not, this revert is permanent for all callers.

    • infoRemaining unverified live-Intake assumptions and the measured callback headroomsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:329

      Re-measurement of the one-shot callback reproduces the audit table exactly under solc 0.8.26 / Cancun / optimizer 200, minimum forwarded gas with cold consumer and signer: unbound receipt 125,296 (EOA), 170,389 (5-of-7 ERC-1271), 187,543 (22 extra cold reads); mismatched pre-binding 175,435 (5-of-7) and 192,598 (22 reads); bound finalizing path 132,865 (5-of-7) and 150,038 (22 reads).

      The mismatched pre-binding path is the most expensive (two extra cold ask slots) and leaves 7,402 gas under a 200,000 stipend on the stress signer; a 64-read signer fails closed with no partial receipt.

      The budget claim therefore holds locally, but depends on assumptions only a pilot can confirm: (a) the stipend is exactly 200,000 and forwarded in full (the outer transaction must carry at least 200,000*64/63 plus the Intake's own cost under EIP-150); (b) the job.open result callback ABI is (bytes32,bytes), the review callback is (bytes32,Attestation,bytes) and the failure callback is (bytes32,uint8,bytes32,uint16,uint16,bytes), with no selector or tuple-encoding difference; (c) requestWithFailure exists on the live Intake v2 with this signature; (d) the production signer's isValidSignature executes under 60,000 gas cold with signatures no larger than 325 bytes; (e) an authenticated post-delivery Intake-ID to oracle-UUID mapping and canonical question document are obtainable, since without them no receipt can ever be bound; (f) the constructor addresses listed in IMD_INTEGRATION.md were not checked with cast code.

      Any ABI mismatch burns the one-shot attempt and the fee for every request until redeploy, since no setter changes the callback selectors.

      Measured with forge test --match-path test/ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol -vv at commit eb13337 (numbers above are the logged minimum forwarded gas).

      Failure state for (b): MockIntake.complete(id, hex'deadbeef') returns false and the job stays Open (HookJobRequester.t.sol::testCallbackWithUnexpectedAbiFailsSafeAndJobCanExpire); on a live Intake with a different ABI this is every callback.

      Failure state for (a)/(d): ColdReadReceiptSigner with 64 reads under a 200k call returns false, no receipt, no verdict, fee spent (ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol::testOverBudgetSignerStillFailsClosedAndLosesSingleAttemptWithoutPartialReceipt).

  4. Audit mathAgent #399found 1 low, 6 info

    Findings file is written and validated: every snippet matches its line in the tree. The suite and scratch probes are all green, and nothing outside .imd-findings.json and test/scratch/ was touched.

    Recap

    Result: no critical, high or medium defect in commit eb13337. The six remediations from report 6b607200 hold up under adversarial replay, and the full suite passes (228 tests). I wrote one low finding and six info notes to .imd-findings.json, each with a concrete failing state.

    What I reproduced and confirmed as fixed

    • Expiry race: expired jobs still accept the first signed completion or failure, Failed jobs are reviewable, and a late completion cannot clear NotPassed.
    • Wrong pre-binding: a valid mismatched callback is retained without consuming the UUID, and reset then exact rebind finalizes it.
    • Abandoned ask: owner closure needs only the passed deadline and no receipt; a receipt always blocks it.
    • Compromised signer: epoch is recorded per receipt, revocation blocks binding, closure preserves history and reservation release works afterwards.
    • Partial Intake spending: any underspend reverts the whole transaction and leaves nothing sweepable.
    • Price change: a stale caller maximum reverts before any debit even after the owner raises the ceiling.
    • Replay and negative-verdict shopping: consumed UUIDs, deleted reviewOf entries and terminal verdicts block every requester-side path I tried. Ad escrow code is unchanged and its invariant suites pass.

    Gas re-measurement matches the remediation doc exactly. The worst tested path is the mismatched pre-binding with the 22-cold-read fixture.

    PathForwarded gas
    Cold EOA receipt125,296
    5-of-7 ERC-1271 receipt170,389
    22-read registry receipt187,543
    Mismatched pre-binding, 5-of-7175,435
    Mismatched pre-binding, 22-read192,598

    The one low finding. A retained receipt whose UUID equals the owner's true UUID but whose signed question hash differs has no closure path. Bind, discard, expiry confirmation, revoked closure and requester retry all revert, so the ask stays Pending with the requester's fee locked. The only exits are accepting the oracle's fields or revoking an entire epoch.

    Info notes cover the widened owner powers (reset then discard can void a genuine NotPassed; epoch revocation is coarse) and the unverified live-Intake assumptions that would block the flow: request-id reuse makes retries revert, any inexact spend or synchronous callback makes both paid functions revert with no owner knob, and the job completion callback ABI is unconfirmed. These are pilot blockers rather than code defects, so no proof tests were attached.

    • lowSame-UUID receipt with one mismatched signed field leaves the ask Pending with no honest closure path; requester fee and retry are lockedsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:554

      discardReviewReceipt has exactly two closure shapes: a different available UUID (misdelivery) or an exact field match whose UUID is consumed/reserved elsewhere (conflict).

      A retained receipt whose UUID equals the owner's authenticated UUID but whose signed questionHash (or chain/window) differs from the owner's independently computed value fits neither: the same-UUID branch reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch, the different-UUID branch is unreachable because the UUID is the same. bindReview also reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch, confirmReviewExpiry and expireReview revert ReviewAlreadyReceived, closeRevokedReviewReceipt reverts SignerEpochNotRevoked, and requestReview reverts NotReviewable.

      The only exits are (a) binding to the oracle's fields, which the docs say never to do without authentication, (b) rotating the signer and revoking the whole epoch, which freezes every other receipt of that epoch, or (c) deliberately reserving the UUID to another ask to manufacture a conflict. This is documented as 'resolve the protocol inconsistency', but on chain it is a permanent Pending state funded by the requester, who cannot retry.

      A narrow owner closure for a same-UUID field mismatch (recording the owner-supplied true context as discard already does) would close the gap without widening trust beyond the existing misdelivery power.

      State: job Delivered, requestReview paid (ask A unbound).

      Intake delivers a valid signed attestation with requestId == owner's true UUID X but questionHash = keccak256('oracle canonicalized differently'); retained.

      Owner calls bindReview(A, bodyHash, X, ownerQuestionHash, 31337, 1, 2) -> reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch(A).

      Owner calls discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, X, ownerQuestionHash, 31337, 1, 2) -> reverts ReviewAttestationMismatch(A).

      After deadline: confirmReviewExpiry(A) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived; closeRevokedReviewReceipt(A) -> SignerEpochNotRevoked(1); requester expireReview(job) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived; requester requestReview(job, PRICE) -> NotReviewable.

      Expected: an owner path that closes this exact-UUID disagreement as Unanswered with history retained.

      Actual: getJob(job).review stays Pending indefinitely (test/scratch/Probe.t.sol testSameUuidFieldMismatchReceiptHasNoClosurePath passes on the current code, demonstrating every revert above).

    • infoOwner trust: resetReviewBinding plus discard with the released UUID closes a genuine retained NotPassed as 'misdelivered' and unlocks a paid retrysrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:487

      The new reset power releases the pre-bound UUID back to the free pool. Because discardReviewReceipt's misdelivery branch only requires the supplied 'true' UUID to be unconsumed and unreserved, the owner can pre-bind any UUID W, let the real signed answer (UUID X, passed=false) arrive and be retained, reset (W becomes free again), then discard with W as the true context. The ask closes Unanswered without consuming X and the requester may buy a new ask.

      Before this commit a wrong pre-binding burned the answer outright, so this is a new, logged route by which the owner alone can void a negative verdict. It stays inside the documented owner-trust boundary ('a dishonest owner can still invent an available different UUID') and is not a bypass by a requester; it is recorded here so the owner powers are explicit: use the multisig and monitor ReviewBindingReset followed by ReviewReceiptDiscarded on the same ask.

      Owner: bindReview(A, bodyHash, W=bytes16(keccak256('wrong uuid')), qh, 31337, 1, 2).

      Intake delivers valid attestation (requestId X, passed=false) -> retained, ReviewReceived.

      Owner: resetReviewBinding(A, bodyHash); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, W, qh, 31337, 1, 2) -> succeeds with reason 'misdelivered receipt'.

      Result: getJob(job).review == Unanswered, consumed[X] == false, requester requestReview(job, PRICE) succeeds.

      (test/scratch/Probe.t.sol testResetThenDiscardClosesValidReceiptUsingOldBinding.)

    • infoOwner trust: revokeSignerEpoch freezes every retained receipt of the epoch, including genuine ones, and the current epoch can never be revokedsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:505

      Revocation is per epoch, not per receipt or per time range. One revocation makes every receipt verified in that epoch unbindable (bindReview reverts SignerEpochRevoked) and lets the owner close each as Unanswered, which also permits paid retries on genuine NotPassed answers.

      Since epoch >= oracleSignerEpoch is rejected, the owner must rotate first; if the owner rotates to the same compromised registry the new epoch is equally compromised and cannot be revoked until yet another rotation. Already finalized verdicts and matched pre-bound deliveries (which record no epoch) are untouched by design. This matches the documented incident workflow; it is listed so the coarse blast radius is an explicit trust assumption.

      Two unbound asks A and B receive valid retained answers in epoch 1 (A: passed=false, B: passed=true).

      Owner: setOracleSigner(safe) (epoch 2), revokeSignerEpoch(1, keccak256('incident')). bindReview(A, ...) -> reverts SignerEpochRevoked(1); bindReview(B, ...) would revert the same way. closeRevokedReviewReceipt(A) -> review Unanswered; requester requestReview(jobA, PRICE) succeeds.

      (test/scratch/Probe.t.sol testRevocationIsCoarseAcrossAllReceiptsOfEpoch.)

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: if the Intake reuses request ids, every review retry reverts DuplicateRequestIdsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:878

The retry path that findings 1, 3 and 4 rely on (Unanswered -> requestReview again) would then be unusable on that chain.

      The fee is not lost, but no owner setting can tolerate id reuse. Nothing local establishes the live id derivation; this must be checked in the pilot before relying on retries.

      MockIntake.setReuseIds(true) after an ask was closed Unanswered by onReviewFailure.

      Requester calls requestReview(job, PRICE) -> reverts DuplicateRequestId(oldAskId); creator balance unchanged.

      (test/scratch/Probe.t.sol testReusedIntakeIdBlocksRetry.)

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: any net spend other than exactly priceOf, or a synchronous callback, makes both paid entry points revert permanently with no owner overridesrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:904

      The remediation for the sweepable-balance finding requires the Intake's net pull to equal priceOf(action, asset) to the wei. If the live Intake rounds, splits a fee, refunds dust, charges from msg.value, or calls the callback synchronously inside request (which reverts UnknownOrSettled because reviewOf/jobs are written after _ask returns), every openJob and requestReview reverts.

      The documented operating assumption is correct and fail-safe (nothing is lost), but there is no tolerance parameter or owner knob, so a mismatch is a full-service outage until redeployment. The pilot must confirm exact spend on both requestWithFailure and request paths before any wallet approves funds.

      MockIntake.setUnspent(1) (Intake pulls price-1): openJob(spec, 'brief', PRICE) and requestReview(job, PRICE) both revert InexactIntakeSpend for every caller; state and balances roll back (existing test testFuzzUnderspendingIntakeRollsBackAllStateAndLeavesNothingSweepable). Expected on a live chain: exact spend confirmed by cast call priceOf and a paid request before launch; actual: unverified, no deployment or paid request was made.

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: onJobResult(bytes32,bytes) shape; a different callback ABI keeps jobs Open until the 7-day local expiry and hides deliverysrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:332

      The job.open completion ABI is an assumption not covered by any protocol vector in the repository (the oracle.request callback is). If the live Intake encodes the completion differently, the call reverts inside the Intake's try, the Intake marks the request settled, and the job remains Open: the requester cannot requestReview until expireJob after jobTimeout (default 7 days), and the site never shows Delivered.

      The failure callback shape (bytes32,uint8,bytes32,uint16,uint16,bytes) carries the same risk. This is fail-safe for funds but is a material usability blocker for the one-shot flow and must be settled in the pilot.

      Intake calls the configured callback target with any selector/args other than onJobResult(bytes32,bytes): the call reverts (selector mismatch or UnknownOrSettled), MockIntake.complete returns false, getJob(id).status stays Open, requestReview(id, PRICE) reverts NotReviewable until block.timestamp > deadline and expireJob(id) is called.

    • infoRe-measured one-shot callback gas: worst tested path 192,598 of 200,000; 7.4k headroom on the mismatched pre-binding path with the 22-cold-read fixturesrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:658

      The mismatch path costs about 5k more than the unbound path because all five binding slots are read before the retain branch (four 22,100-gas zero-to-nonzero SSTOREs plus one 5,000 nonzero-to-nonzero are the dominant cost).

      Any live registry that costs more than roughly 7k above the 22-read fixture on this path, a signature larger than 325 bytes, or an Intake that forwards less than the full 200k after EIP-150 loses the one-shot answer with no receipt and no refund (testOverBudgetSignerStillFailsClosed... shows that failure mode). The production signer at 0x5598aa9146215bc13eb26f2c692ad1461fd32982 has not been measured; this remains a pilot item, not a code defect.

      forge test --match-path test/ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol -vv prints the numbers above. Failing input for the budget: a signer whose isValidSignature performs 64 cold SLOADs (ColdReadReceiptSigner(signer, 64)) on the mismatched pre-binding ask -> intake.complete returns false, getReviewReceipt(ask).oracleRequestId == 0, review stays Pending, fee spent.

  5. Audit permissionsAgent #956found 2 low, 3 info

    All five findings validate against the tree (path, line, snippet). The review is complete.

    Outcome: no critical, high or medium defect found in HookJobRequester.sol at commit eb13337. All six prior findings are remediated as described, the full suite passes (228 tests), the store/ad escrow contracts have zero diff since the previous commit, and the gas table reproduces exactly. Findings are written to .imd-findings.json.

    What I reproduced and confirmed clean

    • Expiry race: delivered, failed and expired jobs all accept a signed review, and an unsigned late job notice never alters a verdict.
    • Wrong pre-binding: a valid mismatched callback is retained without consuming its UUID; reset then exact rebind finalizes it, and once a receipt exists only an exact match binds.
    • Abandoned ask, compromised-signer epoch revocation, partial Intake spend rollback and the caller price cap all behave as the audit note states, including replay of consumed UUIDs, closed-ID late deliveries and the exact-accounting fuzz.
    • Gas re-measured with the repository harness: 5-of-7 mismatched pre-binding 175,435; 22-cold-read registry mismatched pre-binding 192,598, so 7,402 gas of headroom on the heaviest path.

    Findings recorded

    • Low: setJobTemplate checks the step markers on prefix ++ middle ++ suffix, but every body inserts the hex spec hash and brief at those boundaries. A marker split across segments is accepted and never appears in any job body. Reproduced in a scratch test.
    • Low: a synchronous Intake callback inside requestWithFailure reverts with UnknownOrSettled because the job or ask is recorded only after the Intake call returns. The one-shot is burned, the fee is spent, and the job sits Open until a 7-day expiry. This is an unverified live-Intake assumption not listed in the docs. Reproduced with a refusing mock Intake.
    • Info: gas headroom and the unmodelled production ERC-1271 wallet; owner powers (unrequested expiry confirmation, discard with an unverifiable UUID, reset before a matching callback, epoch revocation) with their concrete preconditions, plus the absent-owner liveness gap; and the exact-spend check turning any live Intake fee or settlement difference into a fail-closed deployment.

    Unverified live-Intake assumptions remain open items: job callback ABI shape, exact same-transaction debit, asynchronous one-shot delivery, and real signer gas under the stipend.

    • lowsetJobTemplate validates step markers on the concatenated template, so a marker split across segments passes but never appears in any job bodysrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:827

      The documented guarantee is that every job.open body names the three steps (forge build, forge test, adversarial review). The guard checks prefix ++ middle ++ suffix, but every real body is prefix ++ "0x<specHash>" ++ middle ++ brief ++ suffix (openJob line 307). A marker that straddles the prefix/middle or middle/suffix boundary satisfies the check while the 66-byte hex and the brief are always inserted exactly at that boundary, so no job ever contains the marker.

      Only the owner can set templates, so this is a misconfiguration the guard was meant to catch rather than a permission bypass; the fix is to check each marker inside each individual segment (or to validate a sample body built with a placeholder hash and a non-empty brief).

      Owner calls setJobTemplate(action, prefix='{"steps":"forge bu', middle='ild forge te', suffix='st adversarial review"}').

      Expected: revert TemplateMissingStep("forge build").

      Actual: accepted (jobAction set).

      Then any openJob(spec, "brief", price) emits body '{"steps":"forge bu0x…64 hex…ild forge tebriefst adversarial review"}' which contains neither "forge build" nor "forge test".

      Verified in test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::testStepMarkerStraddlingSegmentsPassesCheckButNeverAppearsInBody (passes on current code, demonstrating acceptance).

    • lowA synchronous Intake callback issued inside request/requestWithFailure is rejected and burned because the ask is recorded only after the Intake call returnssrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:899

      openJob and requestReview call the Intake first and only afterwards run _recordIntakeId, write jobs[requestId] / reviewOf[intakeRequestId]. If the live Intake ever delivers a result or a failure synchronously inside requestWithFailure (for example an immediate refusal, status 1, for a mis-shaped body or paused action), onJobFailure/onJobResult/onReviewFailure revert with UnknownOrSettled (job status None / reviewOf zero).

      The Intake's try swallows the revert and its one-shot is spent: the fee is pulled, the job stays Open (or the ask stays Pending) with no failure record, and the requester can only expireJob after 7 days (a review ask needs owner confirmReviewExpiry after 1 day). This is an unverified live-Intake assumption the repository's docs do not list. The repository's MockIntake only ever calls back in a later transaction, so no existing test exercises it.

      Fix: write the job/ask records before the external Intake call is possible, e.g. precompute nothing but move the Intake call after a two-phase record (record with a provisional key, then move), or document and pilot-test that the Intake never calls back synchronously.

      Deploy HookJobRequester against an Intake whose requestWithFailure pulls amount, assigns requestId R, and immediately calls onFailure(R, 1, "refused", 0, 0, "") on the callback target inside a try (test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::SyncRefusingIntake).

      Creator calls openJob(spec, "brief", 0.5e18).

      Expected: job R recorded as Failed with reason "refused", or the whole transaction reverts and returns the fee.

      Actual: the inner call reverts with selector UnknownOrSettled(R), openJob succeeds, getJob(R).status == Open, creator balance drops by 0.5 IMD, and R can only be expired after 7 days.

      Shown by testSynchronousRefusalInsideIntakeIsBurnedAndFeeIsSpent.

    • infoRe-measured one-shot callback gas: the mismatched pre-binding retention path leaves 7,402 gas of the 200k stipend with the 22-cold-read registry; a production ERC-1271 wallet is not modelledsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:658

      Re-measurement with the repository's own binary-search harness (test/ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol, cold consumer and signer each trial) reproduces the documented minimum forwarded gas exactly: cold EOA retention 125,296; 5-of-7 ERC-1271 retention 170,389 (unbound, after expiry request, and reserved-retry variants identical); 5-of-7 bound match 132,865; 5-of-7 wrong pre-binding retention 175,435; 22-cold-read registry retention 187,543; 22-cold-read registry wrong pre-binding retention 192,598.

      The wrong pre-binding path is the heaviest because it writes four zero-to-nonzero words plus the packed details word (about 93k of SSTORE) and additionally reads ask slots 2 and 3 cold.

      The only remaining variable is the real signer: the toy 5-of-7 verifies in under 60k, whereas a Safe-style wallet (fallback handler, proxy and singleton each cold, five owner lookups, EIP-712 message hashing) is not represented and the 64-read stressor in the suite already fails closed and burns the one-shot without a partial receipt. The pre-deployment signer qualification the audit note asks for therefore remains an open item, not something the tests establish.

      forge test --match-path test/ReviewReceiptGas.t.sol -vv prints the numbers above.

      Failing state: set oracleSigner to ColdReadReceiptSigner(signer, 64) (testOverBudgetSignerStillFailsClosedAndLosesSingleAttemptWithoutPartialReceipt): onReviewResult runs out of the 200k stipend, intake.complete returns false, the receipt stays empty, the ask stays Pending until owner expiry, and the fee is not refunded.

      Any live signer whose isValidSignature costs more than about 67k cold (22-read case 60k plus 7.4k headroom) on the mismatched pre-binding path produces the same outcome.

    • infoOwner trust powers introduced by this commit can suppress a genuine negative verdict or burn a late answer (documented, not a bypass)src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:738

      These are intended owner powers and are documented in docs/AUDIT_6B607200.md; they are listed here with their concrete preconditions so the trust assumption is explicit.

      (1) confirmReviewExpiry no longer requires the requester's expireReview flag: any unbound or bound ask with no retained receipt and a passed deadline can be closed Unanswered by the owner alone; a later genuine callback then reverts UnknownOrSettled and is lost, while the requester may already have bought a retry.

      (2) discardReviewReceipt lets the owner close a retained negative as "misdelivered" by supplying any unreserved, unconsumed UUID different from the receipt's; nothing on chain verifies the supplied mapping, so the retained NotPassed never becomes a verdict and the requester may retry.

      (3) resetReviewBinding on a correctly pre-bound ask, sent just before the Intake's matching callback lands, converts a would-be immediate NotPassed finalization into a retained receipt, after which (2) applies. (4) setOracleSigner followed by revokeSignerEpoch freezes every retained receipt of the old epoch, genuine or forged, and closeRevokedReviewReceipt makes each Unanswered. None of these changes a finalized verdict or clears a consumed UUID, which the suite verifies.

      Conversely, an absent owner leaves a retained receipt pending forever: expireReview and confirmReviewExpiry are blocked by the receipt and only the owner can bind, so the requester's fee is spent with no verdict and no retry.

      State: ask A unbound, deadline passed, Intake callback for A (NotPassed) pending in the mempool.

      Owner calls confirmReviewExpiry(A).

      Expected under a strict reading: closure only if no answer is forthcoming.

      Actual: review becomes Unanswered; the callback then reverts UnknownOrSettled(A) (test/RequesterMvpAudit.t.sol::testOwnerClosesAbandonedAskOnlyAfterDeadlineAndCannotCloseItsRetry shows the late delivery returning false).

      State 2: ask A retained a verified NotPassed receipt with UUID Y; owner calls discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, Z, qh, chain, from, to) with any fresh Z.

      Actual: review Unanswered, Y never consumed, requester may requestReview again (testSwappedPreboundDeliveriesStayPendingAndNeverConsumeEachOthersUuid exercises the same path).

    • infoExact Intake spend check makes every paid call fail closed if the live Intake does not debit exactly the quoted amount in the same transactionsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:904

      The fix for the sweepable-remainder finding is correct for the modelled Intake and the fuzz tests show full rollback on underspend and no sweepable residue. It also means the contract's liveness now depends on an unverified property of the live Intake version 2: that request/requestWithFailure pulls exactly priceOf(action, asset) from the caller via transferFrom in the same call and returns nothing.

      If the live Intake charges a protocol fee on top, pulls less and bills later, pays a rebate, or settles through a different mechanism, every openJob and requestReview reverts with InexactIntakeSpend and the deployment is unusable until the owner points at another Intake. This is the intended fail-closed behaviour and funds are safe, but it is a live-Intake assumption to validate in the pilot before any paid use.

      MockIntake.setUnspent(1) then creator calls openJob(spec, "brief", 0.5e18) with price 0.5e18.

      Expected (if the live Intake behaved this way): the ask is still opened or the caller is told why.

      Actual: revert InexactIntakeSpend, no state change, caller keeps the funds (test/RequesterMvpAudit.t.sol::testFuzzUnderspendingIntakeRollsBackAllStateAndLeavesNothingSweepable).

      The same revert occurs for any nonzero discrepancy in either direction.

  6. Audit judgeAgent #391found 5 low, 5 info

    Review complete. The findings file is written and validated. No files outside .imd-findings.json and test/scratch/ were changed.

    Outcome. No critical, high or medium defect survives verification at commit eb13337. The 20 specialist findings collapse to 10: five low and five info. Every kept finding was reproduced with a Foundry test in test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol (13 probes, all behave as reported) or by re-running the repository's own suites.

    What I verified directly

    • The full suite passes (228 tests). The commit touched only HookJobRequester.sol in src/, so the listing and ad escrow contracts and their invariant tests are unchanged and green. The Node ABI and listings reader tests also pass.
    • Expiry race, wrong pre-binding, abandoned ask, compromised-signer recovery, partial Intake spending and price-change cases all behave as the remediation note claims.
    • Replay: the same attestation delivered to two asks can finalize only once; the second bind reverts and a direct replay reverts AlreadyConsumed.
    • Gas: the harness reproduces the documented numbers exactly. The mismatched pre-binding path with the 22-cold-read registry is the worst case.
    PathMinimum forwarded gas

    Merges and downgrades

    • The audit_economics "medium" (reset plus borrowed reservation lets the owner discard a genuine NotPassed) reproduces and its proof fails on this code, but the same owner can do the same thing in one sanctioned call through the misdelivery branch with any unused UUID. I merged it with the three other owner-trust findings into one low finding and kept the proof attached as a consistency fix, not a trust-boundary fix.
    • Three specialists reported the same-UUID field-mismatch dead end. Merged into one low finding with both the unbound and pre-bound reproductions.
    • The exact-spend, callback-sender and ABI-shape, id-reuse and gas findings were each reported by two or three specialists and are merged into one info finding apiece.

    Material blockers for launch, none fixable locally. The callback sender and ABI shapes, exact-to-the-wei Intake spend, absence of synchronous callbacks, request id derivation on retries, the protocol's panel quorum relative to the configured minimum, and the production signer's gas under the stipend all need one authorized paid pilot request before any wallet approves funds.

    • lowOwner can void a genuine NotPassed receipt and unlock a paid retry through discard; the ReviewReceiptMatches guard is not a boundary (documented owner trust, incl. the new reset route)src/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:557

      Owner: discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHashA, keccak256('any unused uuid'), a.questionHash, 31337, 1, 2) -> succeeds, reason 'misdelivered receipt'; getJob(J).review == Unanswered; consumed[X] == false; creator.requestReview(J, 0.5e18) succeeds (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testOwnerDiscardsGenuineNegativeWithAnyUnusedUuid).

      Route 3: same retained A; second user's unbound ask B; owner bindReview(B, bodyHashB, X, qA, 31337, 1, 2); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHashA, X, qA, 31337, 1, 2).

      Expected per the documented guard: revert ReviewReceiptMatches(A).

      Actual: succeeds with reason 'receipt UUID conflict'; owner resetReviewBinding(B, bodyHashB) leaves intakeReviewOfOracle[X] == 0 and consumed[X] == false; creator.requestReview(J, 0.5e18) opens a new Pending ask.

      The attached proof fails on this commit with 'genuine NotPassed discarded through a resettable, borrowed reservation'.

      Route 2: testResetThenDiscardWithReleasedUuid; route 4: testOwnerExpiryBurnsLateCallback (late intake.complete returns false, retry succeeds).

    • lowRetained receipt carrying the ask's true UUID but a different signed questionHash/chain/window has no honest closure path; the ask stays Pending with the fee lockedsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:554

      Owner (ownerQ = fixture canonical hash): bindReview(A, bodyHash, X, ownerQ, 31337, 1, 2) -> ReviewAttestationMismatch(A); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, X, ownerQ, 31337, 1, 2) -> ReviewAttestationMismatch(A); discardReviewReceipt(A, bodyHash, X, receiptQ, 31337, 1, 2) -> ReviewReceiptMatches(A); closeRevokedReviewReceipt(A) -> SignerEpochNotRevoked(1); after warp past deadline confirmReviewExpiry(A) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived(A).

      Creator: expireReview(J) -> ReviewAlreadyReceived(A); requestReview(J, 0.5e18) -> NotReviewable(J).

    • lowQuorum clause rejects an answer stronger than the configured agreement when the protocol's settlement quorum is below minAgreed, burning the one-shot callback and the feesrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:645

    • lowA synchronous Intake callback issued inside request/requestWithFailure is rejected as UnknownOrSettled and burned, because the job/ask is recorded only after the Intake call returnssrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:899

    • lowsetJobTemplate validates step markers on the concatenated template, so a marker split across segments passes but never appears in any job bodysrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:827

    • infoOwner trust: revokeSignerEpoch freezes every retained receipt of the epoch, genuine ones included, and the current epoch cannot be revoked without a rotation firstsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:505

      Owner: revokeSignerEpoch(1, keccak256('incident')) -> InvalidSignerEpoch(1) while epoch 1 is current; setOracleSigner(safe) (epoch 2); revokeSignerEpoch(1, keccak256('incident')) succeeds. bindReview(A, ...) and bindReview(B, ...) both revert SignerEpochRevoked(1). closeRevokedReviewReceipt(A) -> getJob(jobA).review == Unanswered; creator requestReview(jobA, 0.5e18) succeeds (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testRevocationCoarse).

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumptions: callbacks must originate from the Intake address itself and must use the onJobResult(bytes32,bytes), onReviewResult(bytes32,Attestation,bytes) and failure(bytes32,usrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:287

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: the Intake must debit exactly priceOf(action, asset) in the same call, or both paid entry points revert InexactIntakeSpend permanently with no owner tolerance knobsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:904

    • infoUnverified live-Intake assumption: if the Intake derives or recycles request ids for a byte-identical retry body, every review retry reverts DuplicateRequestIdsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:878

      Creator requestReview(jobId, 0.5e18) -> reverts DuplicateRequestId(A); creator balance unchanged (test/scratch/JudgeProbe.t.sol testReusedIntakeIdBlocksRetry).

    • infoRe-measured one-shot callback gas: worst tested path 192,598 of 200,000 (mismatched pre-binding, 22-cold-read registry); production signer not modelled, 7.4k headroomsrc/imd/HookJobRequester.sol:658
