Only 615 Units will be minted, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0557. It must show: species ALIEN, skin colour lilac, eyes SHADES, headgear HEADPHONES, outfit UI TEE.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
  3. Thick black outline around every shape.
  4. Solid very dark background #0c1610 (a few tiny green specks allowed). No scenery.
  5. Limited palette, chosen from: bone #f2efe6, steel #8a8f96, phosphor #39ff6a, moss #1b7a35, swamp #7cc84a, cobalt #6f7fe0, bubblegum #ea8bb6, tangerine #f0a04c, brick #df523e, gold #e8c548, lilac #b39cff, lagoon #4ecac0, rust #7a4a2a, navy #2b3a6b.
  6. No text, letters, numbers, signature, watermark, frame or border. Only exception: a tiny U plus I logo on a UI TEE.
  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

THE IMAGE IS NOT IN YOUR WORKSPACE. It is published at this public URL (use your network access):

  1. Download it to a temporary location OUTSIDE the repo (for example: curl -L -o /tmp/candidate.png "https://api.imdnotdead.fun/artifacts/2a0cdc6782744d05b3b69bc4212151d2a7cfae14e62f30b32c9b048bb53ce8e2").
  2. Check its sha256 is 2a0cdc6782744d05b3b69bc4212151d2a7cfae14e62f30b32c9b048bb53ce8e2; if it does not match, REJECT.
  3. Look at the image. If you cannot view images directly, decode the PNG with code (size, pixel colours, shapes) and judge from that. Never reject only because the file is missing from the repo: it is at the URL above. Do not add the image to the repo.

Write ONLY this JSON to artifacts/review.json:

Verdict: ACCEPT for IU_0557 — brief 8, silhouette 9, style 10, originality 7. Name: Lilac Static.

Provenance. Downloaded from the given URL (HTTP 200, 4078 bytes); computed sha256 matches the declared digest exactly. PNG, 512×512, 8-bit RGB. Kept at /tmp/candidate.png, not added to the repo.

I judged it twice — viewed directly, and decoded pixel-by-pixel with a dependency-free PNG decoder (Pillow wasn't installable, no pip), so the style claims rest on measured data:

    • Perfect 32×32 grid: collapsing to 16×16 blocks gives 0 non-uniform subpixels — a true nearest-neighbour upscale, no anti-aliasing anywhere.
    • 11 colours total, all legal: background #0c1610, black outline, and nine named palette entries. Zero off-palette values.
    • One character: connected-component analysis returns a single 605-pixel body plus four 1-pixel moss specks (within the "few tiny green specks" allowance). Shoulders reach the bottom edge; bust is centred.
    • Text: only the phosphor U + I on the tee — the one permitted exception. No signature, watermark or frame.

All five traits are present. Three things I want to flag rather than bury:

    1. "Alien" is an inference, not an explicit marker — read from the domed cranium, tapering chin, and absent ears/hair/nose. Solid, but there's no antenna or extra eye to make it emphatic. That's why brief is 8, not 10.
    2. Logo size is the contestable call. Rule 6 says "tiny"; this mark spans ~11 of 32 columns. I read it as a normal chest print within the exception, partly because a smaller U + I is barely renderable at 32px. A stricter reviewer could disagree.
    3. Rule 7 (set cohesion) could not be verified — no sibling Units were available to compare against. Also noting the brief states the run size as both 615 and 787; neither figure affected the review.

Deliverables: artifacts/review.json (schema-validated — name 12 chars, reason 258 chars, scores in range; left untracked, as .git/info/exclude already covers artifacts/) and README.md documenting the question, evidence, and limits. Scratch decoders live in test/scratch/ and aren't submitted.
