MARGINALIA SITE v7: YOUR WEEK (eligibility where the wallet is), the pot page default, and the history loader. Read docs/loop.md, docs/STATUS.md and docs/CHANGELOG.md first; append to STATUS and CHANGELOG before delivering. Owner's product brief: no credits file, no attestation. Keep the v6 app, theme, routes, approvals, tests and the function-to-home map; this is a focused continuation, not a redesign.

  1. YOUR WEEK ON THE ME TAB. A writer who wrote a thesis cannot see from their own page whether it counts for the pot; the only signal is a badge on each thesis card in the feed. Add a 'Your week' block at the top of the Me tab (connected wallet) that reads MarginaliaJudge.eligibleTheses(week) for every week that still has a thesis pool above zero and is not yet judged (hook.thesisPool(week) > 0, judge not paid), and the connected wallet's own theses of those weeks from the loaded history plus noteOf(id). One line per thesis: 'Thesis No. N, week W: eligible for the W.WWW IMD pot' when the id is in eligibleTheses, or 'Thesis No. N, week W: needs your call under it by <grace end, local time> ()' when it is not and the grace has not ended, or 'Thesis No. N, week W: grace ended, forfeitable' after it. The 'needs your call' line links to the existing child-call flow (#/post?child=). A wallet with no thesis in an open week sees nothing (no empty state). Not connected: the block is not shown.
  2. POT PAGE DEFAULTS AND YOUR THESES. The judging block on #/pools defaults to the current chain week, which usually has no eligible theses yet, so a visitor looking for the advertised pot reads '0 eligible theses · 0 IMD'. Default the week selector to the most recent week whose thesis pool is above zero and whose judging is not yet paid (today that is 2962, not 2963); keep the selector editable. When a wallet is connected, show under the judging block the same per-thesis lines as item 1 for the selected week, and above the eligible count the sentence 'An eligible thesis is one whose author posted a call under it within 7 days of the thesis.'
  3. FEED BADGE STAYS. Keep 'Child call posted (No. X)' and 'Needs its child call within 7 days.' on thesis cards exactly as they are. On a thesis page whose author is the connected wallet, show the 'Post the child call' button only while children == 0; after the call exists show the child link instead.
  4. READ NODES. The public nodes in imd-deployment.json no longer serve the history: ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com refuses eth_getLogs older than its recent window (HTTP 403, 'archive requests require a personal token') and eth.drpc.org refuses ranges over 10,000 blocks (HTTP 400), so a fresh browser loaded nothing older than ~10k blocks. Set network.rpcUrls and walletAddChain.rpcUrls, in this order, to https://rpc.mevblocker.io, https://gateway.tenderly.co/public/mainnet, https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com, https://eth.drpc.org. Measured from the site's own origin on 2026-10-17: rpc.mevblocker.io served the whole deploy-to-head range, 2,000-block chunks and JSON-RPC batches with CORS for both hosts; tenderly served the range but rate-limited about a third of a 21-wide parallel burst (HTTP 429). Do NOT list rpc.flashbots.net, 1rpc.io, cloudflare-eth.com, blastapi, blockpi or ankr: flashbots returns an EMPTY result for pruned ranges (which the loader would record as a complete empty range), the others cap getLogs at 10 to 50 blocks or require keys. Keep the viem fallback transport so a failing node hands the chunk to the next one; treat an HTTP 429 as a failure of that node for that chunk, not as an empty range.
  5. HISTORY LOADER. Today each refresh reads 8,000 recent blocks plus 8,000 blocks of older history (2,000-block chunks, 4 per refresh), so a fresh browser needs about four presses of 'Load more history' before theses from the deploy block appear, and the author page and the Me tab read 'Theses ≥ 0' until then. Change it to continue the history scan automatically after the recent window is loaded, chunk after chunk, at most four requests in flight per node, until coverage from the deploy block is complete or a chunk fails on every node; keep the ranges and logs in localStorage as now, keep the 'notes loaded · History incomplete/complete' summary and the coverage details, and keep 'Load more history' as a manual retry only for chunks that failed on every node. The total span today is about 41,000 blocks (deploy block 26169583), so a complete scan is about 21 chunks per contract (hook and Annex). Never record a chunk as covered unless a node returned a JSON-RPC result for it.
  6. FEEDBACK ENTRY. The feedback intake is switched off (its worker routes are gone, the composer posts to a 404) and nothing was ever submitted through it. Remove the Feedback entry from the top bar and from any menu or footer link. Keep the #/feedback route so an old link still resolves, but replace the composer, the week board and the adopted ledger with one short paragraph: 'Feedback intake is paused. Reach us on X at @marginalia_md.' with the handle linked to https://x.com/marginalia_md; no form, no signature, no history read. Remove the feedback section from agents.md and llms.txt, and from docs/loop.md say in one line that the weekly feedback ranking is paused.
  7. RULES as v6: no score anywhere, hit rate with the settled count; 'buy' only inside the Pages controls; no price talk, no returns, no chart links; exact approvals only (router, Annex, Pages, hook stamp, WETH deposit); LARP reads stay view-only; no external scripts; agents.md and llms.txt updated for the Your week block, the pot default and the feedback removal; tests for: the Your week lines in all three states and the no-thesis case, the pot page default week and the connected per-thesis lines, the child-call button hidden once a child exists, the top bar without a Feedback entry and the #/feedback paragraph, the manifest node order, the loader completing from the deploy block with a mocked node that fails one chunk (falls to the next node) and a node that 429s (chunk retried elsewhere, never recorded empty); keep every existing test green.
  8. REVIEW BRIEF as before: any address, approval or script finding is critical and must refuse hosting. Deliver into this project's repository as before.

    • highbug: refreshing history temporarily deletes loaded Annex receipts and resets their transaction stateweb/src/App.tsx:88

Now: Each refresh starts with empty Hook/Annex parts. When Hook finishes before Annex, publish replaces the whole existing feed with Hook-only data. A loaded Annex receipt disappears, its page unmounts, and its transaction confirmation is permanently lost when the Annex page remounts. The retained Annex browser regressions time out.

Change to: Keep the previous data for each contract while its replacement is pending, and merge fresh progress into those retained parts. Do not publish the temporary absence of a pending contract as removal of its notes; preserve the mounted receipt/composer and its confirmed transaction state.

Why: The brief requires keeping the v6 app and every existing test green while adding automatic history scanning. A successful lifecycle action must retain its receipt and success state through the refresh it triggers.

Chromium and WebKit, 390×844, production dist.

Use the retained v3 browser RPC fixture with annexNotes:true, status:0, noteBlock:26179000, a horizon that ended 1,800 seconds ago and reject:false.

      Open /app/#/note/0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 and press Observe.

The mock returns a successful receipt.

Delay Annex eth_getLogs responses by 200 ms while Hook responds immediately.

A MutationObserver records the loaded Launched-token receipt being replaced with "0 notes loaded · History incomplete" and "This note is not in the available history; older events may be missing.", then returning.

After 1 second there is one observe wallet request and zero .status.ok elements: Confirmed and its transaction link have vanished.

Without any added delay, web/tests/v3-browser.mjs cases "Annex note lifecycle uses the Annex and current horizon" and "Annex tab uses its own approval and positive 3% baseline bound" also fail waiting 30 seconds for Confirmed.

Expected: keep the already loaded Annex record visible and retain the successful transaction feedback while refreshing both histories.

Control check outside the repository: retaining the per-contract feed parts across refreshes makes both unchanged Annex regressions pass, preserves Confirmed and its link, and eliminates the missing-note transition under the same 200 ms delay.

    • lowtaste: pot amounts touch the judging-state columnweb/src/styles.css:130

Now: The numeric-cell rule removes the gutter after Pool (IMD), so the pot amount and the next judging-state label visually join in the weekly table.

Change to: Apply padding-right: var(--space-3) to th.num:not(:last-child) and td.num:not(:last-child); retain zero right padding only for the final column. The existing table reflows within its width.

Why: Visitors need to distinguish each pot amount from its judging state when comparing the weekly rows; this restores the table's existing column spacing without changing its layout or theme.

Chromium, 390×844 (also reproduced at 320×844 and 1440×844).

Open /app/#/pools with week 2962 funded at 507.645840223181205005 IMD, then scroll to Thesis prize, by week.

The header reads visually as Pool (IMD)Judging state and the funded row as 507.6458closed without judging when that state is returned.

DOM Range measurements at 390 put the amount/header right edge and the following label left edge at the same x=274.921875 px: 0 px gutter, versus the 12 px padding used by the other table columns.

At 320 both edges are x=226.390625 px.

Expected: a visible inter-column gutter for both headers and values.

Saved findings: one medium defect where malformed RPC responses bypass healthy fallback nodes, leaving history incomplete. No critical/high findings.

Reviewed the hosted export and source. All 110 browser scenarios, ten unit suites, and 249 non-fork Foundry tests passed. Application files remain unchanged.

    • mediumA malformed primary log response bypasses healthy fallback nodesweb/src/notes.ts:90

Result validation happens after viem's fallback transport has accepted the primary response. If the primary returns HTTP 200 with a matching JSON-RPC id but no result, viem getLogs fails while decoding, outside transport fallback. scanRange therefore marks the chunk failed without trying the healthy remaining nodes. Manual retry selects the same primary and fails again.

This violates the requirement to offer manual retry only after a chunk fails on every node. The behavior is shipped in dist/assets/index-D-OKcgqP.js; the provided missing-result test makes every node malformed and therefore misses this case.

In a temporary copy of web/tests/v7-unit.ts, change the missing-result fixture condition from if(missingResult&&a===DEPLOY_BLOCK+4000n) to if(missingResult&&node===0&&a===DEPLOY_BLOCK+4000n), so only the primary returns HTTP 200 {jsonrpc:"2.0",id:} without result.

Leave the secondary healthy and use the existing head DEPLOY_BLOCK+40999 and fresh contract address 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000069.

      Call loadFeed(rpc,contract).

Reproduced: partial=true, failedRanges=[[26173583,26175582]], with only node 0 requested for that range; node 1 is never tried.

Calling loadFeed again leaves the same hole and again requests only node 0.

Expected: the healthy secondary serves the chunk and partial=false.

Validate each node's result before fallback treats its response as a success.

  5. Adversarial reviewAgent #1160found 1 high, 1 medium

Review complete. Findings are written to .imd-findings.json in the repository root. No files in the tree were changed.

    What I found

    • High. Pot page default week is wrong on today's chain. readOpenWeeks in web/src/week.ts takes the newest week with a positive, unpaid thesis pool, starting from the current chain week. Fees accrue to the current week's pool on every noted sell, so that week is almost always positive. Live reads on 2026-10-17 confirm it: week 2963 has about 19 IMD and zero eligible theses, week 2962 has about 559 IMD and 5 eligible theses. The site therefore defaults to 2963 and shows the "0 eligible theses" screen the brief asked to remove. The unit test at web/tests/v7-unit.ts line 31 asserts this incorrect behaviour, and the browser fixture passes only because it zeroes the current week's pool. The fix is to skip the current chain week when choosing the default. The Me tab's Your week block is unaffected and correctly keeps the current week.

    • Medium. A malformed primary log response blocks healthy fallback nodes. Confirmed the specialist's finding against the built source with the locked viem. When only the first node returns HTTP 200 with a matching id and no result for a chunk, the result check in web/src/notes.ts runs after the fallback transport has accepted the response, so the chunk is recorded as failed without asking the other nodes. Manual retry repeats the same node. The existing test cannot see this because it makes every node malformed.

    What checked out

    • Manifest node order in both rpcUrls lists matches the brief, and none of the forbidden hosts appear.
    • The existing v7 unit suite passes in a temporary mirror. Real HTTP 429 and JSON-RPC archive errors hand the chunk to the next node, and per-node concurrency peaked at 4 and 3.
    • The automatic history scan completes from the deploy block, failed chunks leave holes rather than empty coverage, and the retry button appears only after the scan ends.
    • Feedback link is gone from the top bar and bundle; the #/feedback route renders the single paused paragraph with the X link; loop.md carries the one-line pause.
    • Your week lines render the three states and the no-thesis, other-wallet, Annex and unfunded cases produce nothing. Week assignment uses the same timestamp-based week as the hook.
    • Child-call button is gated on zero children from both cached and fresh reads, and the feed badge text is unchanged.
    • No new addresses, approvals or external scripts were introduced. Nothing critical refuses hosting.

    • highPot page default week picks the current chain week whenever it has any pool, so today it defaults to 2963 ('0 eligible theses'), not 2962 as the brief requiresweb/src/week.ts:34

Item 2 of the brief: default the judging selector to the week a visitor looking for the advertised pot wants to see, 'today that is 2962, not 2963', because the current chain week 'usually has no eligible theses yet'. readOpenWeeks walks weeks from the current chain week downwards and returns the first one with thesisPool > 0 and paid == false (line 28 if (pool === 0n || paid) return null;).

Since 70% of every sell fee accrues to thesisPool[_week()] at accrual time (src/MarginaliaHook.sol:387), the current week's pool is positive as soon as one noted sell happens in it, which is the normal state. The current week can never have eligible theses that are judgeable (judging opens at week end + 7 days, judging.tsx opens), so the default lands exactly on the '0 eligible theses' screen the owner asked to remove.

The unit test at web/tests/v7-unit.ts:31 ('A newly funded current week becomes the default even before it has eligible theses') asserts this wrong behaviour, and the browser fixture at web/tests/v7-browser.mjs:323 only passes because it sets the current week's pool to 0n, a state that does not match the live chain.

The default should skip the current chain week (or equivalently pick the newest week < week() with pool > 0 and not paid), while the selector stays editable; the Me-tab 'Your week' block correctly keeps including the current week and is not affected.

      Live mainnet state read on 2026-10-17 09:57 UTC via https://rpc.mevblocker.io against hook 0xf0457dd0cf526686190e4f057ba19db14d34a0cc and judge 0xa9e1891d76553195b4cbcd0f8db290c8c0fa28b9 (hook.judge()): week() = 2963; thesisPool(2963) = 0x10c0615e4f444b8e1 (about 19.3 IMD) and paid(2963) = false; eligibleTheses(2963) = []; thesisPool(2962) = 0x1e4c5320a88b4e9912 (about 558.8 IMD), paid(2962) = false, eligibleTheses(2962) has 5 ids. readOpenWeeks(pub, hook, judge) therefore returns defaultWeek = 2963 and #/pools renders '0 eligible theses · 19.3 IMD'.

Expected per the brief: defaultWeek = 2962, '5 eligible theses · 558.8 IMD'.

Unit reproduction with the fixture in web/tests/v7-unit.ts: make thesisPool return 1n for args[0]===week+1 (the fixture's current chain week) and keep paid false; readOpenWeeks(...).defaultWeek returns week+1 (asserted by the existing test at line 31-34), whereas the brief requires week.

    • mediumA malformed HTTP 200 log response from the primary node (JSON-RPC id matches, no result and no error) is recorded as a failed chunk without trying the healthy fallback nodes, and manual retry repeats web/src/notes.ts:90

The result check at line 91 runs after viem's fallback transport has already accepted the primary node's response as a success (HTTP 200, matching id, no error member). viem's getLogs then throws while mapping the missing result, outside the transport, so the fallback never offers the chunk to the next rpcUrl. scanRange catches that error and pushes the range into failedRanges, which hydrateFeed reports as 'The public nodes did not serve blocks a–b' and exposes 'Load more history'.

The brief (item 5) requires the scan to continue until 'a chunk fails on every node' and keeps the manual retry 'only for chunks that failed on every node'. The retry (loadFeed again) requests the same range from the same primary first and fails identically, so the hole never closes while that node misbehaves even though the second, third and fourth nodes would serve it.

The existing test 'Missing JSON-RPC result is never saved as covered empty history' (web/tests/v7-unit.ts:102) makes every node return the malformed response, so it cannot observe the missing fallback. Reported by the site_content_check specialist; reproduced here against the built source with viem 2.57.4.

Fix direction: validate the result inside the per-node request path (e.g. a custom transport wrapper or request-level check) so a missing result is treated as that node's failure and the fallback moves on, or on a non-array result retry the chunk explicitly against the remaining rpcUrls before recording it as failed.

Copy web/tests/v7-unit.ts and change the fixture condition at line 73 from if(missingResult&&a===DEPLOY_BLOCK+4000n) to if(missingResult&&node===0&&a===DEPLOY_BLOCK+4000n) so only the first node answers chunk [DEPLOY_BLOCK+4000, DEPLOY_BLOCK+5999] with {jsonrpc:'2.0',id:} (HTTP 200, no result); node 1 stays healthy and returns [] for that chunk.

      Call loadFeed(rpc, '0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000069') with head DEPLOY_BLOCK+40999.

Observed (run in a temporary mirror with the locked dependencies): partial = true, failedRanges = [[26173583, 26175582]], the only node asked for that range was node 0; a second loadFeed call left the same hole and again asked only node 0.

Expected: node 1 serves the chunk, partial = false, failedRanges = [].

    Both reported findings are fixed:

    • bug: Annex receipts disappeared during refresh. Chromium and WebKit, 390×844, with Annex logs delayed 200 ms: no receipt unmount, one retained confirmation and transaction link, exactly one Observe request. The retained Annex lifecycle and approval cases also pass. Evidence: [App.tsx][app].

  9. Adversarial reviewAgent #498found nothing

Both findings from the previous round are settled as fixed. .imd-findings.json holds an empty findings list and no repository file was changed.

High: pot page defaulted to the current chain week. Fixed. readOpenWeeks in web/src/week.ts now returns the newest funded, unpaid week strictly below the current chain week, falling back to the previous week when none qualifies. The current week stays in the returned list, so the Me-tab "Your week" block still covers it. The pot page in judging.tsx consumes that default and keeps the selector editable. The unit test that formerly asserted the wrong behaviour now funds the current week and asserts the completed week is chosen, and a further assertion checks that a paid completed week is skipped in favour of the next older one.

Medium: malformed HTTP 200 log response never reached the fallback nodes. Fixed. makePublicClient in web/src/chain.ts wraps each HTTP transport in a custom transport that rejects any eth_getLogs response whose result is not an array, so the viem fallback moves the same chunk to the next node before decoding happens. The test "Primary missing JSON-RPC result falls back to a healthy node and completes coverage" reproduces my earlier scenario against the locked viem transport with two local HTTP servers and asserts the chunk was asked of node 0 then node 1, with coverage complete and no failed ranges. The all-nodes-malformed test still asserts the chunk is recorded as a hole, never as covered empty history, and that a manual retry closes it.

How I verified. I installed the locked dependencies with install scripts disabled, bundled the v7 unit suite with the project's own esbuild, and ran it. All nine scenarios passed, including the HTTP 429 fallback, the four-request concurrency ceiling per node, and localStorage coverage persistence. Temporary bundle output was removed and the working tree is clean.

Nothing new to report. I found no further reproducible defect in the revised code, and the specialist pass reported none either.
