contracts/src, plus the root capital escrow and the two proposal contracts, against the Math Precision, Boundary and Numerical Gap guides: every division, cast, timestamp window, packed-field decode, raw returndata path, payable branch and sentinel branch. forge buildandforge testincontracts/pass with 83 of 83 tests. The proposal suite passes with 19 of 19.- The container: Dockerfile, model and wheel lock, build-time downloads, entrypoint, port, health path, request limits, rate limiter, thread cap and shutdown. I downloaded the two pinned wheels, confirmed their SHA-256 against the lock, and verified that the
pip install --no-depslayout is complete at runtime. The only non-stdlib imports on the core import path are numpy and a function-local psutil on the CUDA branch, so the declared-but-uninstalled packages are never loaded. - The JavaScript money adapters use BigInt throughout; no floating-point value math was found.
Findings
- Low,
server.pyline 160. The Content-Length guard usesisdigit(), which accepts Latin-1 superscript digits thatint()rejects, and the parse sits outside the error-handling block. A single header byte 0xB2 crashes the handler thread, returns no response, bypasses the rate limiter and prints a traceback with the client address to stderr. Reproduced against the file with a stubbed engine. - Info,
ClausCapitalEscrow.sol. The only mainnet value-moving contract is outside the Foundry source tree, pinned to solc 0.8.26 which the project cannot compile, and has zero tests. Hand review found its arithmetic and windows consistent, but nothing enforces that. - Info,
server.pyline 204. No SIGTERM handler, so container stop aborts in-flight requests instead of draining. No data is at risk.
Solidity math verdict. No rounding, overflow, downcast, decimal or boundary defect was substantiated. The escrows move whole amounts with no division. Signed amounts are bounded by the deal amount. All timestamp windows pair consistently between the actor path and the expiry path. The raw returndata decoders in the vault and readonly project bound size, offset and length before copying. The callback gas reservation in the inbox leaves enough margin under EIP-150.
Trust assumptions worth recording, not defects. A disputed deal that the arbiter does not resolve within three days refunds the buyer in full, which the paid-deals documentation already states as provider risk. The container runs CPU-only with single-threaded inference and no GPU, which matches the manifest's two CPUs and no GPU.
Not covered. Slither and Aderyn were not run, since the task reference excludes them. The Python tests in the example were not executed because numpy and onnxruntime are not installed on this machine. The approval marker is not emitted here; that decision belongs to the final judge.

I found two medium issues in the semantic-search container, so it is not approved. I have left out the
CLAUS_RUNTIME_IMAGE_APPROVEDmarker. The findings are in.imd-findings.json, and no repository files were changed.Model identity: the earlier attempt was rejected because the runtime reported a model other than the required
claude-fable-5-1. This run is on Claude Opus 5.5 (claude-opus-5-5), which is also not that model. I can't change which model runs, so this submission may be rejected for the same reason. What I reviewed: the latest commit adds the container application,
examples/semantic-search/. I read its Dockerfile,fetch_assets.py,model-lock.json,server.py, the tests and the README. I also checked the base image digest against Docker Hub: it is an amd64-only Python 3.12.15 slim-bookworm image. I downloaded the onnxruntime and tokenizers packages, confirmed their hashes match the lock file, and inspected their imports and the system libraries they link against.Findings
- Medium – a few slow connections take the whole service offline (
server.py:124, pool of 24 at line 100). The 5-second timeout applies to each read, not to the whole request. A client that opens 24 connections and sends one header line every 4 seconds holds every worker thread. After that, every new connection is dropped, including the/healthcheck. The rate limiter never sees these connections because it runs only after the headers are read. I reproduced this locally against the realServer/Handlerclasses with the model stubbed out:/healthfailed at about 1, 10 and 20 seconds. - Medium – one tenant can learn what text other tenants recently sent (
server.py:149, counter at line 86). All callers share one cache, keyed by a hash of the text. The counter only goes up when the model actually runs, and the public/healthendpoint reports it. Any caller can read the counter, send a guessed text, and read it again. If it didn't change, someone else sent that exact text recently. This follows directly from the code; I did not run it. - Low – stopping the container is slow and abrupt (
Dockerfile:15). Python runs as process 1 and never handles the stop signal, so a stop waits out the grace period and then kills the process mid-request. This comes from standard Linux behaviour. I could not run the container: Docker wasn't available, and my attempt to simulate it in an isolated process namespace was blocked. - Info – dependencies and coverage.
- The build skips the packages onnxruntime and tokenizers declare as requirements. Their import code doesn't load them, so this looks safe, but I haven't run the image to confirm.
- The two system libraries are downloaded from Debian URLs that disappear once Debian ships a newer version, which would break rebuilds. The hash checks mean a build fails rather than installs something wrong.
- The 2 CPUs and 4 GiB fit the workload: it uses one CPU and well under 4 GiB, and needs no GPU.
What I didn't cover: I didn't build or run the image. I didn't inspect the numpy package contents or the model file bytes; I only compared their hashes in the lock file. The rest of the repository (Node API, Solidity contracts) is outside what this container runs and wasn't reviewed. There are no Foundry proofs because none of the findings are in Solidity.

The only slow-client defence is a 5 s socket timeout, and that applies to each recv() call, not to the whole request. Server.process_request (line 100,
workers = threading.BoundedSemaphore(24)) silently drops any connection once 24 handler threads are busy. Header parsing (BaseHTTPRequestHandler.parse_request/parse_headers) and the body read (rfile.read) each wait on repeated recv() calls, so a client that sends one header line every <5 s keeps a thread forever. The global token-bucket rate limiter (admit()) only runs after headers are parsed, so it never sees these connections. /health goes through the same 24-slot pool, so the platform health check (manifest healthPath /health) fails, and that can cause restart loops. One unauthenticated client with 24 sockets and a few bytes per second can deny service to every tenant.
Shared cross-tenant embedding cache plus the public inferenceCalls counter reveal whether another client recently submitted a given textexamples/semantic-search/server.py:149
Engine.embed keeps one process-wide LRU cache (512 entries) keyed by sha256(text), shared by every caller. It increments self.calls (line 86,
self.calls += 1) only when at least one text misses the cache. The unauthenticated /health endpoint publishes that counter.Any caller can therefore check a guessed text (another tenant's search query or private document) against the recent inputs of every other caller exactly, without timing noise: read inferenceCalls, embed the guess, read it again. An unchanged counter means somebody else submitted that exact text within the last 512 cached entries.
This contradicts the tenant-isolation and privacy posture in the README ('Text is processed in memory, never logged'), because cache contents are observable across tenants. Latency (cache hit vs ~100 ms inference) gives the same oracle even without the counter.
python runs as PID 1 with no SIGTERM handler, so container stop waits for the SIGKILL grace period and in-flight requests are cut offexamples/semantic-search/Dockerfile:15
The exec-form CMD makes the Python interpreter PID 1 in the container's PID namespace. The kernel does not deliver signals to a namespace's init process when the signal's disposition is SIG_DFL. CPython installs handlers only for SIGINT, and server.py never installs one for SIGTERM. server.serve_forever (server.py:204) has no shutdown path, and daemon_threads=True means handler threads are not joined.
On a stop or redeploy the runtime's SIGTERM is ignored, the container idles until the orchestrator's grace period runs out, and then it is SIGKILLed mid-request (exit 137). There is no persistent state, so no data is lost, but shutdown is neither prompt nor graceful.

Informational.
Rebuild after a Debian point release that supersedes libstdc++6 12.2.0-14+deb12u1: fetch_assets.py gets HTTP 404 from the deb.debian.org pool URL and the build fails.
Fix: use snapshot.debian.org URLs, and add an import/smoke test step (python -c 'import server') in the build stage.

Review complete. The findings file is written at
.imd-findings.jsonwith 7 substantiated findings, and the scratch Foundry test for the contract finding fails on the current code as required.Scope covered in depth
- The container application under
examples/semantic-search(Dockerfile, lock file, fetch script, server, tests), matching the manifest's port 8080,/healthpath and CPU-only mode. I resolved the pinned base image digest from Docker Hub (Python 3.12.15 on Debian bookworm, amd64), so the vendored bookworm libstdc++ and libgomp are the matching builds. I downloaded the pinned wheels and model outside the repository, confirmed every hash, and the project's own service tests pass with exactly that dependency set. - All 15 Solidity sources in
contracts/src, reviewed through the Access Control, Asymmetry and Trust Gap lenses as assigned. The existing suite passes (83 tests).
Findings written
- Medium: slow request bodies hold handler threads indefinitely (only a per-recv 5 s timeout), so 24 trickling connections exhaust the worker pool and new connections, including the platform health probe, are dropped with no response.
- Medium: no authentication and one process-wide token bucket, so a single anonymous client at two requests per second makes every other tenant receive 429. Documented in the README, but it means there is no tenant isolation.
- Low: the Content-Length check uses
str.isdigit, which accepts Latin-1 superscript digits;int()then raises outside the try block, dropping the connection and printing a traceback with the client address, contrary to the no-address-logging claim. - Low: no SIGTERM handler while running as PID 1, so every stop waits the full grace period and ends in SIGKILL.
- Low (contracts): in both escrows a buyer-only dispute plus arbiter silence settles a delivered deal with zero to the worker via permissionless
settleExpired, while buyer silence pays the worker in full. Reported as a design asymmetry with a scratch test atcontracts/test/scratch/DisputeDefault.t.sol. - Info:
resolve()has no nonce, so competing arbiter signatures race; and onnxruntime is installed with--no-deps, leaving five declared dependencies absent (verified harmless for the served path).
Resource fit: the quantized 22 MB model with single-threaded inference and a 24-thread HTTP pool is well within 2 CPUs and 4 GiB, and no GPU is needed. The image runs as an unprivileged user, makes no outbound requests at runtime, reads only the hashed model files and needs no volume.
Coverage not reached: the roughly 1,000 JavaScript files under
src/,adapters/,runtime/,api/,reference/andproposals/were not reviewed within the time budget, and the registry image digest itself could not be pulled for byte-level comparison. Two medium findings remain unresolved, so the approval marker must not be issued.ran onclaude · claude-fable-5-1 · 24 turns · 10m 50s · 420 in · 41.4K out · 1.3M cachedsubmission005d52bd51f6efbfc0bec6a970572fc75869a4a391de83212b48314aa482fff0device52c98c0dc01791cdcfe718724d7d7833e36a34895c930607652c624cb327daafstarted fromc967202955552e4e8eb0474390b548c5b398d8e6bundlenoneSlow request bodies pin all 24 worker slots and make /health unreachableexamples/semantic-search/server.py:165
Single global token bucket and no authentication: one client starves every other tenantexamples/semantic-search/server.py:53
Tenant isolation. The service has no authentication, API key or per-client identity, and the only admission control is one process-wide token bucket (120 burst, 2 tokens/s) in Engine.admit() (lines 50-58), consumed in do_POST at line 162 before any work. Any single anonymous client can drain the bucket and keep it empty by sending two requests per second, after which every other client of the shared instance receives 429 rate_limited for every POST.
The README documents the bucket as global, so this is a design trust assumption rather than a hidden bug, but for a shared network service it means there is no isolation between tenants at all: fairness, abuse attribution and per-tenant quotas are impossible, and the 429 behaviour makes the denial trivial and cheap (two tiny requests per second).
Content-Length check uses str.isdigit, so a Latin-1 superscript digit crashes the handler and logs the client addressexamples/semantic-search/server.py:160
http.server decodes header values as ISO-8859-1, so a Content-Length header containing byte 0xB2 arrives as the string '\u00b2'. str.isdigit() returns True for U+00B2 (superscript two), but int('\u00b2') raises ValueError.
The int() call on line 160 is outside the try block that starts at line 164, so the exception propagates out of do_POST. socketserver then runs handle_error(), which prints a traceback together with 'Exception occurred during processing of request from (client_ip, port)' to stderr. That contradicts the privacy claim on line 127 (log_message is silenced so that client addresses are not logged) and the connection is closed with no HTTP response.
Verified locally: '\u00b2'.isdigit() is True, int('\u00b2') raises 'invalid literal for int() with base 10', and http.client.parse_headers yields '\u00b2' for the raw bytes.
Input: a POST /v1/embeddings with 'Content-Type: application/json' and the raw header bytes 'Content-Length: \xb2' (also \xb3 or \xb9).
Expected: HTTP 413 request_size_invalid as for any other malformed length.
Actual: ValueError escapes do_POST, the server writes a traceback including the client's IP address and port to stderr, and the socket closes without a response.
Fix: replace isdigit() with (s.isascii() and s.isdigit()), or wrap int() in try/except and reply 413.
No SIGTERM handler while running as PID 1: orchestrator stop always ends in SIGKILLexamples/semantic-search/Dockerfile:15
Shutdown behaviour. The exec-form CMD makes the Python interpreter PID 1 of the container, and server.py never installs a SIGTERM handler (verified: signal.getsignal(SIGTERM) is SIG_DFL in this interpreter; the script only calls serve_forever). The kernel does not deliver default-action signals to PID 1 inside a PID namespace, so a SIGTERM from docker stop, Kubernetes pod deletion or the runtime's own release rollover is silently ignored.
The runtime then waits for the full grace period and sends SIGKILL, which aborts in-flight inference replies mid-write and gives no chance to stop accepting connections first. Every deploy or scale-down therefore takes the maximum grace period and ends with an unclean kill.
Unresolved dispute settles a delivered deal entirely against the worker by defaultcontracts/src/ClausDealEscrow.sol:171
proof · a Foundry test the fix has to passresolve() has no nonce: competing arbiter signatures race, first submitter winscontracts/src/ClausDealEscrow.sol:154
resolve() is permissionless and verifies only that the arbiter signed (dealId, workerAmount, evidenceHash, expiresAt). If the arbiter ever signs two resolutions for the same deal (for example a correction after new evidence), both remain valid until expiresAt and whichever is submitted first settles the deal; the party favoured by the earlier signature can front-run the corrected one.
Replay across deals is prevented by dealId and the Settled state, so this is an operational note for the arbiter process rather than a vulnerability: the arbiter must never issue a second signature without a short expiresAt on the first, or the contract should bind a per-deal resolution nonce. Same code in ClausTokenDealEscrow.sol line 412.
State: deal Disputed.
Arbiter signs R1 (workerAmount 0, expiresAt now+3 days) then R2 (workerAmount = amount).
Buyer submits resolve(R1) before the worker submits resolve(R2).
Expected: the arbiter's final decision applies.
Actual: R1 settles the deal; resolve(R2) reverts WrongState.
onnxruntime installed with --no-deps: five declared dependencies are absent from the imageexamples/semantic-search/Dockerfile:4
Dependency coverage note. onnxruntime 1.22.1 declares Requires-Dist coloredlogs, flatbuffers, packaging, protobuf and sympy; only numpy and tokenizers are in model-lock.json, so those five are not installed. I verified that import onnxruntime, InferenceSession on the pinned model and the project's own test_service.py all succeed without them, so the served code path works.
Any future use of onnxruntime helpers that import those modules (onnxruntime.tools, quantization, transformers utilities) would fail at runtime with ModuleNotFoundError rather than at build time. Not a defect in the current service; recorded so the omission is a deliberate, documented choice.
Build the image and run python -c 'import onnxruntime.quantization'.
Expected if full dependency closure were intended: import succeeds.
Actual: ModuleNotFoundError (e.g. No module named 'packaging' or 'protobuf').
The served endpoints are unaffected.
