IMPEPE live Ethereum token audit

Audit the deployed Ethereum mainnet system as it is. Do not change source, deploy contracts, submit transactions or mark it approved without findings. Website: https://www.impepe.fun

The live ERC-20 is contracts/IMPEPE.sol, NOT the legacy contracts/ProjectToken.sol. IMPEPE uses OpenZeppelin ERC20, with constructor-only minting of 1 billion tokens to the deploying wallet. It has no owner, token transfer tax, blacklist, pause or router allowance shortcut. Verify these statements against the deployed code rather than taking them as conclusions.

Pool ID: 0xf468a137b19bc0822a46914599afad10af396ee876859f14ff46bbb5d0a1321c

Pool fee 0, tick spacing 60. The hook charges 4% on the IMD side, split 3% creation / 1% protocol. After NFT #1000, the 3% routes to equal-share NFT rewards. These rewards belong to NFT holders, not ERC-20 holders. The public allocation is 98% locked pool liquidity and 2% deployer; confirm current pool state separately from the historical allocation.

Prior audit files and owner approval records refer to older source versions and must not be treated as an audit of this deployed system. Legacy IMD standard-launch contracts also remain in the source tree; use the deployed addresses and bytecode matching to identify the actual scope.

Required checks

  1. Match source/build settings and constructor immutables against deployed bytecode; report discrepancies and any unverifiable component explicitly. Use the verified hook compiler input under artifacts/live-token-audit. Compiler Solidity 0.8.26, optimizer 200, Cancun; router deployment metadata settings are in its deployment record.
  2. Assess sellability, honeypot-like behavior, arbitrary holder balance changes, mint/burn authority, unusual token functions and any actual scanner warnings. Do not assume GMGN/GoPlus issued warnings or that they are false positives; quote current evidence when available.
  3. Trace router payer/recipient binding, approvals, manager-only callback, slippage, deadline, reentrancy and full-input checks in both swap directions. Test third-party routers and unsupported exact-output/partial-fill cases rather than extrapolating the reference project's findings.
  4. Review hook return deltas, actual-versus-requested amount fee calculation, rounding, ERC-6909 claims, flush behavior during PoolManager unlock and fund solvency. Test flash-take/unlock accounting attacks and fee diversion with reproducible local or fork tests; never attack the live pool.
  5. Verify locked liquidity cannot be withdrawn by admin, deployer, hook or another caller. State all remaining administrator powers and external IMD/Uniswap trust dependencies accurately.
  6. Review creation budget custody, independent signer assumptions, holder selection, retries and delayed migration as they affect the 3% stream. Confirm migration cannot recover locked liquidity or already-accrued NFT rewards.
  7. Exercise the irreversible NFT #1000 transition, per-NFT equal shares, proportional multiple ownership and preservation of seller-accrued rewards across transfers. Check no overdistribution, repeated claims or flash-NFT reward capture.

Return a public report with exact repository commit, chain/block used for live observations, component source matches, findings by severity, source lines, concrete impact, proof tests and recommended fixes. Clearly separate proven findings, assumptions, scanner limitations and untested areas. No predetermined pass verdict.

Pin repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d. Include the GMGN fee settlement behavior: transaction 0xc1942775a4d39b429b02f56e5d6df950cfb502acc1f641d35c6fb53e95eee096 accrued fees without flushing; website transaction 0xaf953bd7af307bef8717eb764c3a8aded0312998fa68dc6b4730a65d17184e3b accrued and flushed. Check claim backing and permissionless flushFees settlement outside PoolManager unlock. The new ETH adapter is not in this pinned commit and is outside this audit scope.

    Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d.

Live observations: chain 1, block 26159214 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com.

Local reproduction: Foundry 1.8.3, solc 0.8.26, optimizer 200, cancun, @openzeppelin/contracts 5.4.0, @uniswap/v4-core 1.0.2, real PoolManager, hook deployed at a 0x2acc-flag CREATE2 address, bootstrap seeded with 980,000,000 IMPEPE at tick -138180 (IMPEPE = currency0, as on mainnet; local position liquidity 979119087993616449488660 equals the live bootstrap.positionLiquidity()).

Merged from four specialist reports (economics, math, flow, permissions). beforeAddLiquidity (lines 117-127) runs only check(key) and discards sender; beforeRemoveLiquidity (line 136) rejects every modifyLiquidity with liquidityDelta != 0 for every position owner. beforeInitialize does restrict sender to the launch factory, so the intended model is a single bootstrap position, yet nothing stops a third party from minting a position in the official pool (fee 0, spacing 60, pool id 0xf468a137...) through Uniswap's PositionManager, any v4 LP router or the Uniswap web UI.

Their deposit is accepted, can never be withdrawn by them, the admin, the hook or anyone (hook is immutable, no owner), and earns nothing because lpFee is 0. THREAT_MODEL.md line 9 claims "outside additions/removals rejected"; the only test for it (tests/contracts.test.mjs line 248) rejects for an unrelated allowance reason (separate finding).

Live hook 0x5108c5507dA225a4582E8629661b5D83d476aaCc runtime code hash 0xb4b4513d53c8cb11498e6149243e51915babc9ff6f6ad056c4bf32c247c44b96 matches this source, and Sourcify reports exact_match, so the deployed hook has this behaviour; at block 26159214 pool liquidity still equals the bootstrap position, so nobody has fallen in yet. The deployer's own 980M position is correctly locked (removal of 1 wei reverts for every caller, also after warping).

Impact: irrecoverable loss of a user's full deposit through an ordinary, non-malicious action presented by standard tooling; the public "98% locked pool liquidity" statement stops describing pool composition once anyone adds.

Fix for any future deployment, preserving the single-locked-position design: in beforeAddLiquidity add require(sender == launchFactory, "launch factory adds liquidity"); (the bootstrap seeds through its own unlockCallback so seeding still works; verified: all three specialist proofs and my harness pass with that one line).

The live hook cannot be changed, so the live remediation is operational: document loudly that adding liquidity to pool 0xf468a137... is irreversible and ask interfaces to hide the add-liquidity action for this pool.

    Local (test/scratch, mirrors mainnet seeding): outsider 0xA1 holding 1,000,000 IMPEPE approves PoolModifyLiquidityTest and calls modifyLiquidity(key, {tickLower:-138180, tickUpper:887220, liquidityDelta:+1e20, salt:0}).

Expected: hook refuses (only the launch factory may add).

Actual: succeeds, outsider's IMPEPE balance drops by 100089969853226811341908 wei (100,089.97 IMPEPE).

Then modifyLiquidity with liquidityDelta -1e20 and -1 both revert with WrappedError(hook, 0x21d0ee70 beforeRemoveLiquidity, Error("liquidity permanently locked")).

Same result for a narrow range {-138240,-138120,+1e18} and for a fresh pool at tick 0 {-600,600,+1e18}.

All three specialist proofs (.imd/reads/proofs/Proof_6303684b4eac, Proof_0295d614ca48, Proof_4b54ae9ad438) fail on the pinned code for this reason and pass once beforeAddLiquidity requires sender == launchFactory.

The attached proof is the economics specialist's test (two tests fail: "next call did not revert as expected" and "hook accepted outsider liquidity and then locked it permanently").

  • 2.lowOwner-controlled controller migration admits arbitrary replacement code: after 2 days the owner can mint every remaining NFT to chosen wallets and redirect the 3% streamcontracts/IMDFeeRouter.sol:80

            pendingCodeHash = address(replacement).codehash;

    Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d.

Live observations: chain 1, block 26159214 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com.

Local reproduction: Foundry 1.8.3, solc 0.8.26, optimizer 200, cancun, @openzeppelin/contracts 5.4.0, @uniswap/v4-core 1.0.2, real PoolManager, hook deployed at a 0x2acc-flag CREATE2 address, bootstrap seeded with 980,000,000 IMPEPE at tick -138180 (IMPEPE = currency0, as on mainnet; local position liquidity 979119087993616449488660 equals the live bootstrap.positionLiquidity()). Merged from the permissions specialist (low) and the flow specialist (info).

Reported as a material privileged power with preconditions, not as a permission bypass: migration is an intended owner role and THREAT_MODEL.md calls replacement-code approval "an explicit administrator trust boundary". scheduleControllerMigration validates the replacement only through its own view answers (owner, feeRouter, predecessor, paused, migrationImported) and pins pendingCodeHash to the hash of whatever was scheduled, not to a known IMDCreationController build. executeControllerMigration then calls next.importMigration(), SwarmCollection.replaceController(next) (which also only checks view answers) and forwards escrow to next.deposit().

After that the replacement is the sole caller allowed into commitAndMint and receives every creation deposit. Live preconditions at block 26159214: controller.owner() = feeRouter.owner() = 0x61aEFdAAa5FA9ac74AA0051238Fd4a37B1d24148 (EOA, also recoveryRecipient and protocolRecipient), collection totalSupply 0, pendingController 0, migrationEscrow 0.

The single deployer key can therefore, with a public 2-day delay, hand all 1000 mints and the whole pre-#1000 3% stream to code it wrote (no attestor signature, ranking, operator or 0.5 IMD payment required) and later collect the post-#1000 reward share of those NFTs.

What stays protected: pool liquidity, already-minted NFTs, RewardsDistributor balances, the hook and the token.

Fix within the agreed design: in scheduleControllerMigration require address(replacement).codehash == address(creation).codehash (identical runtime code implies identical immutables: imd, collection, verifier, operator, paymentRecipient, jobBudget, settlementBlocks, baseHash, recoveryRecipient) and have SwarmCollection.replaceController check the same hash; if logic upgrades must remain possible, that is an explicit scope decision (longer delay plus a published approved hash).

On the live, immutable router and collection this stays a documented trust assumption on the deployer key.

Local test test_owner_migration_to_arbitrary_code_mints_and_sweeps (passes on pinned code, i.e. the behaviour exists): deploy EvilController exposing owner()=admin, feeRouter()=router, predecessor()=controller, collection()=nft, paused()=true, migrationImported() set by importMigration(), activateMigration(), deposit() and mintTo()/sweep().

Owner sequence: controller.emergencyPause(); controller.scheduleWithdrawal("reason"); feeRouter.scheduleControllerMigration(evil); warp +2 days; controller.withdrawCreationFunds() (3 IMD of creation budget go to the owner); feeRouter.executeControllerMigration().

Expected per the documented ranking/attestor model: a replacement must still require attestor-signed selection and artifacts.

Actual: collection.controller() == evil and feeRouter.creation() == evil; evil.mintTo(0xBEEF, 300-byte art) mints NFT #1 to 0xBEEF with no proof; a subsequent 100 IMD buy routes 3 IMD into evil and evil.sweep(0xCAFE) moves it out; bootstrap.positionLiquidity() unchanged.

  • 3.lowA contract account can be selected and minted an NFT it can never claim rewards for; its 1/1000 share is stranded forevercontracts/SwarmCollection.sol:96

            _mint(recipient, id);

    Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d.

Live observations: chain 1, block 26159214 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com.

Local reproduction: Foundry 1.8.3, solc 0.8.26, optimizer 200, cancun, @openzeppelin/contracts 5.4.0, @uniswap/v4-core 1.0.2, real PoolManager, hook deployed at a 0x2acc-flag CREATE2 address, bootstrap seeded with 980,000,000 IMPEPE at tick -138180 (IMPEPE = currency0, as on mainnet; local position liquidity 979119087993616449488660 equals the live bootstrap.positionLiquidity()).

From the flow specialist. selectRecipient (IMDCreationController.sol line 455) checks only minimum balance, sealed exclusions, one-per-wallet and a few protocol addresses; it has no code-length or ERC-721 receiver check, and neither does backend/selection.mjs. commitAndMint uses _mint without a receiver check (accepted design so a rejecting receiver cannot stall minting).

Balance-time ranking favours long-lived large holders, so a Uniswap v2/v3 pair, vesting contract or custody contract holding >= 10,000 IMPEPE is a realistic top candidate. Such a contract cannot call RewardsDistributor.claim (line 43 requires collection.ownerOf(id) == msg.sender) and cannot transfer the NFT.

After NFT #1000 every fund() adds amount*SCALE/1000 to accRewardPerNFT for that id too, so 1/1000 of all rewards accrues to it and can never be paid; the IMD stays in RewardsDistributor and no one else receives it. THREAT_MODEL.md item 4 acknowledges "may be unable to recover its NFT" but not the perpetual reward loss.

Fix options: have the attestor rank only EOAs or contracts implementing IERC721Receiver and record that in the sealed rules; or allow claim by getApproved/isApprovedForAll operators so custodial contracts that can set approvals are not stranded; at minimum document the risk.

Local test test_contract_winner_cannot_claim_rewards (real EIP-712 flow with the attestor key): DumbHolder contract C holds 10,000 IMPEPE; a 100 IMD buy funds the controller with 3 IMD; openNextJob(); roll +129 blocks; confirmFinality with a signed Finalized(cutoff, blockhash, controller, expiry); selectRecipient(C, 10000e18, 777, signed Selection) succeeds (no code check); operator payJob, bindRequest("req1"), submit(baseArt, 0, 0, signed Artifact).

Expected: every minted share eventually claimable.

Actual: collection.ownerOf(1) == C; rewards.claim([1]) reverts "owner" for any other msg.sender (tested from 0xD00D and the admin), and C has no code path to call claim or transfer, so once fund() runs after #1000 the share credited to id 1 is unreachable.

From the economics specialist, confirmed independently.

"status": "verified" in the nine deployment records means only that the runtime code hash was matched locally. On 2026-10-10 Sourcify /v2/contract/1/ returns match null for IMPEPE 0x5018f7d8... and IMDLaunchSwapRouter 0x3dbee01d... (the specialist found the same for the bootstrap, fee router, controller, collection, rewards and verifier); only IMPEPEFeeHook 0x5108c550... is exact_match (matchId 55839067, verified 2026-10-09T19:52:41Z).

GoPlus token_security/1 for IMPEPE at the same time: is_open_source "0", is_in_dex "0", buy_tax "0", sell_tax "0", cannot_buy "0", cannot_sell_all "0", honeypot_with_same_creator "0", owner_address "", holder_count "8", creator_percent "0.020288". The "not open source" flag is the only live scanner warning observed and it is accurate, not a false positive. GMGN could not be queried from this environment; no GMGN warning text is quoted.

Runtime code hashes read live (token 0x303caa06..., hook 0xb4b4513d...) equal the records, so the token is the 7-line OpenZeppelin ERC20 in contracts/IMPEPE.sol (fixed 1e27 supply minted once to the deployer, no owner, tax, blacklist, pause, mint, burn or allowance shortcut).

Impact: users, wallets and scanners cannot confirm this themselves and keep warning.

Fix: submit the frozen standard JSON (artifacts/live-token-audit/hook-standard-input.json; router with metadata bytecodeHash none) for each address to Etherscan and Sourcify, and record the explorer status per component instead of the ambiguous "verified".

From the economics specialist, confirmed.

The test sends modifyLiquidity(liquidityDelta: 1n) from admin through PoolModifyLiquidityTest and asserts a rejection. seedPool (line 96) only approves f.swap and f.trade for publicWallet; admin never approves f.liquidity, so the add reverts inside the LP router's settle with ERC20InsufficientAllowance before the hook's decision matters.

The assertion passes regardless of what beforeAddLiquidity does, and THREAT_MODEL.md line 9 ("outside additions/removals rejected") is derived from it while the hook actually accepts outside additions (medium finding).

Fix: approve the liquidity router for the caller and assert the specific hook revert ("launch factory adds liquidity" after the fix), and additionally assert pool liquidity still equals bootstrap.positionLiquidity() after the attempt.

Local test test_fixture_without_allowance_reverts_before_hook: outsider without allowance calls modifyLiquidity(key,{-138180,887220,+1e20,0}) -> revert selector 0xfb8f41b2 ERC20InsufficientAllowance(PoolModifyLiquidityTest, 0, 100089969853226811341908), raised by IMPEPE.transferFrom, not by the hook.

After approve(lpRouter, max) the same call succeeds and the outsider's IMPEPE balance drops.

Expected: a rejection test must pass the allowance step and still observe a hook revert.

From the math specialist.

The test "the generated ten-contract unsigned deployment plan executes locally and seeds the approved locked pool" unconditionally calls fs.readFileSync('artifacts/legacy-deployment-config-v1.2.json'); the file is absent from the committed tree (git ls-files has no match), so the test throws ENOENT and npm test reports a failure at the audited commit. The archived artifacts/audit-regression-tests.tap therefore does not reflect this tree.

Coverage note: the suite exercises both currency orderings, 4% buy/sell accounting and a seeded #999 -> #1000 state, but never swaps amounts below 1e18, never tests an outside LP adding liquidity with allowance, and never runs the #1000 transition end to end.

Fix: commit the fixture or drop the legacy-launch test together with the legacy route.

ls artifacts/legacy-deployment-config-v1.2.json -> No such file or directory; git ls-files | grep legacy -> nothing. tests/contracts.test.mjs line 300 reads the file unconditionally inside the test body, so node --test reports the test as failed with ENOENT (specialist ran npm ci && npm test on a copy: "not ok 29"). Expected: the suite passes at the pinned commit.

Merged from the economics, flow and permissions specialists' inventories, cross-checked live.

Locked liquidity: bootstrap 0x8f45658f... owns the only position (positionLiquidity 979119087993616449488660 = pool liquidity); no withdraw path exists (seed is one-shot, unlocking is only set inside seed(), hook rejects any liquidityDelta != 0 for everyone); nobody including the admin can remove it.

The admin cannot touch the pool, mint IMPEPE, change the 4% fee, pause swaps or move RewardsDistributor funds; after NFT #1000 (a)-(b) are disabled by totalSupply checks. Operator 0x9A6dA9E6... (= paymentRecipient) can release the 0.5 IMD budget of the current job to itself via payJob before delivering and can stall by never submitting; recovery needs an attestor-signed authorization plus an exact 0.5 IMD refund.

Attestor 0xaBe1a47E... (single EIP-712 key, distinct from admin/operator) chooses every winner in practice (selectRecipient only checks minimum balance, exclusions and one-per-wallet), attests finality beyond 256 blocks without blockhash binding, and approves artifacts and recoveries.

External: IMD 0xd34a99bc... is an owner-controlled LayerZero OFT (owner 0x047F606f..., setPeer/lzReceive present, no pause/blacklist/fee observed), so IMD supply on Ethereum can grow through bridge peers the owner configures; every website swap depends on IMD transfers from the PoolManager, hook and fee router succeeding because IMDLaunchSwapRouter.swapExactInput calls hook.flushFees() unconditionally (line 42), while third-party routers would keep trading and accruing claims if that path ever reverted.

Uniswap's protocolFeeController 0x89A5D5bF... may set up to 0.1% protocol fee on this pool (live protocolFee 0, lpFee 0); the hook's full-input check tolerates it because v4 deducts it inside the input.

    Live (cast, block 26159214): controller.owner() = feeRouter.owner() = 0x61aEFdAAa5FA9ac74AA0051238Fd4a37B1d24148; collection.totalSupply() = 0; bootstrap.positionLiquidity() = 979119087993616449488660.

Local: owner sequence emergencyPause(); scheduleWithdrawal(reason); warp 2 days; withdrawCreationFunds() moves the full controller IMD balance to the owner and sets retired = true (test_owner_migration_to_arbitrary_code_mints_and_sweeps).

Removing 1 wei of bootstrap liquidity from any caller reverts "liquidity permanently locked"; bootstrap.unlockCallback and seed() revert after seeding (test_donate_succeeds_and_cannot_be_collected).

These are designed powers; expected and actual coincide and no code change is proposed beyond the separate migration finding.

From the math specialist; design constraint with user-visible failure modes.

Any exact-output swap (amountSpecified > 0) reverts in beforeSwap with "exact input only", so Universal Router / aggregator routes that quote exact output cannot trade this pool. afterSwap (lines 175-178) reverts "partial fills unsupported" whenever the pool cannot consume the full input, which is what happens when a sell exceeds the IMD currently in the pool: the launch is single-sided (98% IMPEPE, 0 IMD), so at every moment total sellable value equals the IMD previously bought in.

Not a honeypot: IMPEPE is unmodified OpenZeppelin ERC20 (runtime hash matches), the official router binds payer = recipient = msg.sender, enforces deadline and minimumOut, and consumes exactly amountIn; selling bought tokens back returns 92.16% of the IMD paid (4% each way, zero LP fee). Scanner sell-simulations that try to sell a large balance will revert and may be reported as "cannot sell"; GoPlus currently reports cannot_sell_all "0".

Legacy ProjectToken/LiquidityBootstrap/IMPEPEHook/IMPEPESwapRouter/FeeRouter/CreationController/HookFactory/IMDLaunchHook are not deployed and were only read for context; the ETH adapter is out of scope.

Source match: live runtime code hashes of the token (0x303caa06...) and hook (0xb4b4513d...) read at block 26159214 equal the repository records and the hook is a Sourcify exact match; the other seven components were matched by the specialists against the records (hashes 0x485251dd router, 0x1a142b.. bootstrap, 0x7f34ae.. fee router, 0x6c74b1.. controller, 0x612ada.. collection, 0xdc0c05.. rewards, 0xb67c31.. verifier) and one specialist rebuilt all nine from hook-standard-input.json with byte-for-byte runtime matches (router body matches with bytecodeHash none metadata); I did not repeat the full rebuild.

Proven locally (14 scratch tests, real v4 PoolManager): 100 IMD buy pays exactly 3 creation + 1 protocol and 96 enters the pool; claims always equal pendingCreation + pendingProtocol; official router binds payer = recipient = msg.sender, enforces deadline/minimumOut and consumes exactly amountIn; exact-output and partial fills revert; flush-inside-foreign-unlock, claim burning and direct unlockCallback calls revert; bootstrap liquidity cannot be removed by anyone; the real EIP-712 job flow mints #1.

Taken from specialists without my own re-run (consistent with code reading): the 1000-job end-to-end run showing equal per-NFT shares with zero dust, double share for two NFTs, seller credit preserved across transfer, repeated claims return 0, a just-received NFT claims 0, and sum of claimable equals the distributor balance.

Assumptions: IMD behaves as a standard ERC20 on Ethereum (inferred from selectors and live transfers, not verified source); attestor, operator and admin keys are honest within their documented powers; public RPC state is correct.

Scanner limitations: GoPlus fields quoted; GMGN endpoints could not be queried; honeypot.is does not index v4 pools; Etherscan verification API needs a key.

Not tested: no fork test against the live PoolManager (live pool never touched); Universal Router and V4Quoter not executed; backend ranking code not reviewed; the hardhat suite was not run here. No pass verdict is implied: one medium defect in the deployed, immutable hook and verification/transparency gaps remain.

Scratch suites Judge.t.sol and Judge2.t.sol (8 tests) and the three specialist proofs were run with Foundry 1.8.3 against the pinned contracts: 8 pass (behaviours as described), 4 proof tests fail on the pinned code and pass with the beforeAddLiquidity sender check. Live reads via cast at block 26159214 as quoted in the individual findings.

    IMPEPE live audit report

Scope and evidence. Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d. Live observations on chain 1 at block 26158967. Findings are in .imd-findings.json. Scratch tests live under test/scratch/ and were run with forge 1.8.3 after npm ci restored the locked dependencies (no foundry.toml exists, so forge-std needed a command-line remapping to the copy vendored inside the v4-core package).

Source matches. I recompiled all nine deployed contracts with the repository's compiler settings (solc 0.8.26, optimizer 200, Cancun) and compared them byte for byte with the live runtime code. Every component matches, with differences only in the immutable slots (zeros locally, constructor values live) and, for IMDLaunchSwapRouter, the metadata hash, which its deployment record declares as none. Live reads of the immutables (hook, router, token, controller, rewards, attestor links) agree with the deployment records. The legacy ProjectToken, IMPEPEHook, IMPEPESwapRouter, FeeRouter, CreationController and LiquidityBootstrap sources are not deployed and were excluded.

Token and sellability. IMPEPE is a plain OpenZeppelin ERC20 with a constructor-only mint of 1 billion tokens. It has no owner, tax, blacklist, pause, mint or burn authority, and no allowance shortcut. Both swap directions work through third-party routers and the official router. Scanner evidence: GoPlus has no record for IMPEPE and honeypot.is reports "pair not found" because liquidity is v4 only. Neither service issued a warning. GoPlus flags nothing on the IMD quote token.

Pool state. The PoolManager holds about 978.9M IMPEPE and the bootstrap retains 264 wei, so the 98% allocation is in the locked position. Current tick is -138158 against an opening tick of -138180. Protocol fee and LP fee are both 0.

Fee settlement. The GMGN transaction accrued 4% of the IMD input as ERC-6909 claims to the hook with no flush. The website transaction accrued and flushed in one call. At the observed block the hook's claim balance exactly equals pendingCreation plus pendingProtocol, so claims are fully backed. Local tests confirmed claim backing after buys and sells, exact conservation on flush, rejection of exact-output and partial fills, payer binding, slippage and deadline checks, and that the unlock callbacks reject every caller except the manager in the flushing state.

    Findings by severity.

    • Medium. The hook accepts liquidity from any sender but blocks every withdrawal, so any outside LP who adds to the official pool loses their principal permanently. Proof test included.
    • Low. A contract winner that cannot call claim or move its NFT permanently strands that NFT's share of all future rewards. Neither the contract nor the backend ranking filters contract accounts.
    • Info. Administrator powers: pause, two-day delayed withdrawal of the creation budget to the admin, and migration to replacement controller code pinned only by codehash. These are documented trust boundaries, listed with the exact call sequence.
    • Info. The fee router's event always reports zero gross and zero protocol amounts.
    • Info. Donations to the pool are accepted but can never be collected because the bootstrap has no post-seed path into the PoolManager.
    • Info. External trust: IMD is an owner-controlled LayerZero OFT whose owner can mint via peers, and Uniswap governance can impose up to a 0.1% protocol fee.

Verified with no defect found. Locked liquidity cannot be removed by the admin, deployer, hook or anyone else. Migration cannot touch the pool or RewardsDistributor balances. The #1000 transition is irreversible, shares are equal, multiple ownership is proportional, seller credit survives transfers, flash transfers capture nothing, and repeated claims pay zero.

    • mediumHook accepts liquidity from any sender but forbids every withdrawal, trapping third-party LP principal forevercontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:136

beforeAddLiquidity (lines 117-127) performs only check(key) and explicitly ignores sender, so any account can add liquidity to the official IMPEPE/IMD pool through PositionManager or any v4 periphery. beforeRemoveLiquidity (line 136) then rejects every modifyLiquidity with a non-zero liquidityDelta for every position, not only the IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap position.

The lock that was designed for the 98% launch allocation therefore also applies to any outside LP: their principal can never be withdrawn by them, by the admin, or by anyone. The pool is visible in standard v4 tooling (the Uniswap interface and position managers allow adding liquidity to hooked pools), so an ordinary user can lose funds without any misbehaviour.

Fix options that preserve the design: (a) in beforeAddLiquidity require sender == launchFactory so only the bootstrap can ever add, or (b) in beforeRemoveLiquidity allow negative liquidityDelta when sender != launchFactory (the PoolManager passes the position owner as sender), keeping the factory position locked. Option (a) is the smaller change and matches the stated 'permanently locked single-sided' model.

Local Foundry (test/scratch/ThirdPartyLiquidityLock.t.sol): deploy PoolManager, IMPEPE as both currencies, IMPEPEFeeHook at a 0x2acc-flag address with launchFactory = test contract, initialize the pool at tick 0.

Alice (not the factory) calls PoolModifyLiquidityTest.modifyLiquidity(key, {-600, 600, +1e18}) -> succeeds, her balances drop.

Alice then calls modifyLiquidity(key, {-600, 600, -1e18}) -> expected: principal returned; actual: revert WrappedError(hook, beforeRemoveLiquidity selector 0x21d0ee70, Error("liquidity permanently locked")).

Same outcome on mainnet for any LP adding to pool 0xf468a137...321c via PositionManager; never attempted live.

    • lowNFT and its perpetual 1/1000 reward share are irrecoverable when the ranked winner is a contract that cannot call claimcontracts/SwarmCollection.sol:96

commitAndMint uses _mint without an ERC-721 receiver check (accepted design so a rejecting receiver cannot stall minting). Neither IMDCreationController.selectRecipient (only the sealed exclusion list plus protocol addresses are blocked) nor the off-chain ranking in backend/selection.mjs line 32 (blocked = exclusionList + protocol contracts) filters contract accounts.

Balance-time ranking strongly favours long-lived large holders, and any third party can create e.g. a Uniswap v2/v3 IMPEPE pair, a vesting contract or a CEX custody contract that will hold >= 10,000 IMPEPE from early on.

Such a contract cannot call RewardsDistributor.claim (line 43 requires collection.ownerOf(id) == msg.sender) and cannot transfer the NFT, so after NFT #1000 its equal share of every future fund() is accrued into accRewardPerNFT - debt[id] but can never be paid: the IMD stays in RewardsDistributor forever and the effective per-NFT payout of the other holders is unchanged (no redistribution).

Fix: either (1) have the signer rank only accounts with no code or that implement IERC721Receiver and record that in the sealed rules for v2, or (2) add an owner-agnostic recovery such as allowing claim by an approved operator (getApproved/isApprovedForAll) so custodial contracts that can set approvals are not stranded; (3) at minimum document the risk for holders.

State: contract C (no ERC-721 receiver, no outbound calls) holds 10,000 IMPEPE from block 26153894 and is the top balance-time score at job N's cutoff; attestor signs Selection(winner=C). selectRecipient passes every on-chain check (balance >= 10_000 ether, not excluded, not allocated). submit() mints NFT N to C.

After #1000, fund(1000e18) makes claimable(C,[N]) = 1e18, but no transaction can ever move it: claim() reverts "owner" for every other msg.sender and C cannot send transactions.

Expected: every minted share is eventually claimable; actual: 1/1000 of all rewards is permanently locked in RewardsDistributor.

    • infoAdministrator can retire the creation budget to itself and later install arbitrary replacement controller code (documented trust boundary, stated here for completeness)contracts/IMDCreationController.sol:226

Remaining administrator powers at commit b8fceec, owner 0x61aEFd...4148 for IMDCreationController, IMDFeeRouter, SwarmCollection and IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap (Ownable2Step, renounce disabled): (1) emergencyPause -> scheduleWithdrawal -> after 2 days withdrawCreationFunds sends the whole controller IMD balance (the accumulated 3% creation stream, 0.0915 IMD at block 26158967) to the immutable recoveryRecipient = admin and retires the controller; subsequent 3% fees pile up in IMDFeeRouter.migrationEscrow with no path out except migration.

      (2) scheduleControllerMigration pins only address(replacement).codehash (IMDFeeRouter.sol line 80) and checks a handful of view functions; after 2 days executeControllerMigration makes the replacement the sole minter of the remaining NFTs (SwarmCollection.commitAndMint trusts msg.sender == controller) and the recipient of all future creation deposits and escrow. Nothing on-chain requires the replacement to be the audited IMDCreationController implementation.

      (3) The 1% protocol stream goes to the admin (immutable protocolRecipient). What the admin cannot do: withdraw or alter the bootstrap pool position (seed is one-shot, hook blocks removal), mint IMPEPE, change the hook fee, touch RewardsDistributor balances or alter already-minted NFTs. Operator (0x9A6d...31b4) can only pay/bind/submit the current job; the attestor (0xaBe1...7a87) fully determines winners, finality and artifact acceptance within the on-chain eligibility checks.

No code change is required if these powers are accepted; otherwise require address(replacement).codehash == <audited codehash> in scheduleControllerMigration.

Owner calls emergencyPause(); scheduleWithdrawal(bytes32(1)); after 172800 s calls withdrawCreationFunds(): controller IMD -> owner, retired = true.

      Then deploy contract X with owner()==admin, feeRouter()==router, predecessor()==old controller, paused()==true, migrationImported()==false and arbitrary other logic; scheduleControllerMigration(X); after 2 days executeControllerMigration() -> SwarmCollection.controller == X and X.commitAndMint path can mint NFTs 1..1000 to admin-chosen addresses.

All steps succeed under current code (they are the designed powers).

    • infoFee router event always reports zero gross and zero protocol amountscontracts/IMDFeeRouter.sol:130

FeesRouted(grossImd, creationOrRewards, protocol, rewardPhase) is emitted with grossImd = 0 and protocol = 0 on every call because routeAmount only sees the 3% allocation. Observed live in tx 0xaf953bd7...84e3b: FeesRouted data = (0, 0x1ff973cafa8000, 0, false) while the hook's FeesAccrued in the same tx reported protocol 0x0aa87bee538000. Indexers and the public report that rely on this event under-report protocol revenue.

Fix: drop the unused fields or emit the real protocol amount (pass it from the hook) to avoid misleading accounting.

Any flushFees() with pendingProtocol > 0: expected FeesRouted.protocol == amount sent to protocolRecipient; actual 0.

    • infoPool donations and any fee growth on the locked position are unrecoverable by design gapcontracts/IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap.sol:125

The hook comments (IMPEPEFeeHook.sol line 135) allow a zero-liquidity-delta modification so LP fees can be collected, but IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap only enters the PoolManager inside seed(), which is one-shot (positionLiquidity != 0 afterwards) and unlocking is never set again.

Pool LP fee is 0 so no swap fees accrue, but donate() is not hooked (no beforeDonate permission) and succeeds for anyone (verified locally); donated IMD/IMPEPE is credited to the in-range locked position and can never be collected. Harmless unless someone donates by mistake; stated so the report does not claim the collection path works.

Local test test_donateAllowed: PoolDonateTest.donate(key, 1e18, 1e18) succeeds. No function on the bootstrap can afterwards call modifyLiquidity(liquidityDelta = 0) to collect.

    • infoExternal trust dependencies: IMD is an owner-controlled LayerZero OFT and Uniswap governance can add a protocol feecontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:19

Live observations at block 26158967 (chain 1): IMD 0xd34a99bc...63b7 runtime code (22,990 bytes) exposes Ownable (owner 0x047F606f...54B7) and LayerZero OFT selectors (lzReceive 0x13137d65, send 0xc7c7f5b3, setPeer 0x3400288b, setDelegate 0xca5eb5e1, setName/setSymbol). No pause, blacklist or ERC-1967 proxy slot was found and GoPlus reports is_honeypot/is_blacklisted/transfer_pausable/is_mintable = 0.

The IMD owner can nevertheless register a new peer endpoint and mint IMD on Ethereum through cross-chain messages, i.e. IMD supply is controlled off this chain; all fees, rewards and the quote side of the pool are denominated in it. Uniswap's ProtocolFeeController 0x89A5D5bF...51dB can set a protocol fee of up to 0.1% on this pool (currently 0, lpFee 0); the hook's exact-input equality check still holds under a protocol fee because v4 deducts it inside the input amount.

These are not defects in the repository and no code change is proposed; they belong in the public report as assumptions.

  3. Audit economicsAgent #391found 1 medium, 2 low, 2 info

Review complete. The findings file is at .imd-findings.json (5 entries, one with a Foundry proof), no tracked files were changed, and the scratch tests live under test/scratch/.

Verification of the live system (commit b8fceec3…, chain 1, blocks 26158970–26158973). All eleven live addresses have runtime code hashes equal to the deployment records. I rebuilt the nine project contracts from the frozen compiler input with solc 0.8.26 (optimizer 200, Cancun): eight match on-chain byte for byte including metadata, and the swap router's body matches with different metadata, consistent with its recorded bytecodeHash: none. Immutables read back from chain equal the recorded constructor arguments. The token is the plain OpenZeppelin ERC20 in contracts/IMPEPE.sol with no owner, tax, blacklist, pause, mint or burn. The hook's ERC-6909 claim balance equals pendingCreation plus pendingProtocol to the wei and is backed by the PoolManager's IMD balance; the GMGN transaction accrued claims without flushing because a flush cannot run inside a foreign unlock, and the website transaction accrued and flushed, exactly as described.

    Findings written:

    • Medium, with proof. IMPEPEFeeHook.beforeAddLiquidity ignores the sender while beforeRemoveLiquidity blocks every removal, so any third party who adds liquidity to the official pool loses it permanently and earns nothing (zero LP fee). The proof test deposits about 100,090 IMPEPE from an outsider, fails on the pinned code, and passes once the hook requires the sender to be the launch factory. The deployed hook is immutable, so the live remediation is disclosure and interface warnings.
    • Low. Only the hook is source-verified on Etherscan and Sourcify. The token and seven other components are unverified, and GoPlus reports the token as not open source. That is the one real scanner warning observed, and it is accurate.
    • Low. The existing Node test that "proves" outside additions are rejected only rejects because the caller never approved the liquidity router, and the threat model repeats that unsupported claim.
    • Info. Administrator powers, operator and attestor trust, IMD (a LayerZero OFT) and Uniswap protocol-fee dependencies, with the concrete on-chain states and transaction figures the task asked for.
    • Info. Coverage, proven-safe behaviours, assumptions and untested areas.

Proven safe locally with an 11-test Foundry harness against a real v4 PoolManager: fee math in both directions, atomic flush through the official router, permissionless flush after third-party swaps, exact-output and partial-fill rejection, flash-accounting probes, owner and hook inability to withdraw liquidity, a full 1000-job creation run with exact reward conservation, seller credit preservation, no repeated or flash-NFT claims, and pause, withdrawal, escrow and delayed migration leaving pool liquidity, existing NFTs and reward balances untouched.

Limitations. No fork test touched the live pool. Universal Router and the V4Quoter were not executed, GMGN's site blocked API access, and the backend ranking code was not reviewed. Running the scratch tests requires the remappings listed in the last finding; dependencies were installed into the ignored node_modules for local verification only.

Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d; live hook 0x5108c5507dA225a4582E8629661b5D83d476aaCc (runtime code hash 0xb4b4513d... matches the frozen compiler input; chain 1, observations at blocks 26158970-26158973 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com (cross-checked on eth.drpc.org)). beforeAddLiquidity (lines 117-127) only runs check(key) and deliberately ignores sender, so any account can add a position to the official IMPEPE/IMD pool (fee 0, spacing 60, pool id 0xf468a137...). beforeRemoveLiquidity (lines 128-138) then rejects every modifyLiquidity with liquidityDelta != 0 for every owner, not only the launch factory.

The combination turns the pool into a one-way trap for third parties: the Uniswap v4 PositionManager / any LP router can mint a position (the hook returns its selector), but the principal can never be withdrawn, and because the pool LP fee is 0 the position earns nothing either.

Invariant broken: '98% locked pool liquidity owned by the bootstrap' silently becomes '98% + whatever outsiders deposit', with the outsiders' share lost. The documentation claims the opposite: THREAT_MODEL.md line 9 states 'outside additions/removals rejected', and the only test for it (tests/contracts.test.mjs line 248) rejects for an unrelated reason (missing ERC20 allowance to PoolModifyLiquidityTest), see the companion low finding.

Who loses: any user or bot that adds liquidity (the pool is listed on DexScreener as a normal v4 pool, so UI-driven 'Add liquidity' is a realistic path).

Who gains: nobody; the funds are stranded in the PoolManager. Fix (preserves the intended design: single bootstrap position, permanent lock): in beforeAddLiquidity add require(sender == launchFactory, "launch factory adds liquidity");. The bootstrap seeds through its own unlockCallback, so sender is the bootstrap and seeding keeps working (verified: the full harness, including bootstrap seeding, buys, sells and the 1000-job reward run, passes with that one-line change).

This cannot be changed on the deployed hook (immutable, no upgrade path); the realistic remediation for the live system is to warn in the website/docs that adding liquidity to pool 0xf468a137... is irreversible and to request that Uniswap interfaces hide the add-liquidity action for this pool, while fixing the contract for any future deployment.

Local Foundry reproduction (test/scratch/OutsiderLiquidityLock.t.sol): deploy PoolManager, IMPEPE, test IMD, collection, verifier, controller, rewards, IMDFeeRouter, bootstrap, the hook at a CREATE2 address with flag bits 0x2acc, seed 980,000,000 IMPEPE single-sided at tick -138180 (same orientation as mainnet, IMPEPE = currency0).

      Input: outsider 0xA1 holding 1,000,000 IMPEPE calls PoolModifyLiquidityTest.modifyLiquidity(key, {tickLower:-138180, tickUpper:887220, liquidityDelta:+1e20, salt:0}).

Expected: the hook refuses (only the launch factory may add).

Actual: succeeds; outsider's IMPEPE balance drops by 100,089.969853226811341908 IMPEPE.

Then modifyLiquidity with liquidityDelta -1e20 (and -1) reverts with 'liquidity permanently locked' (wrapped by PoolManager as HookCallFailed), also after warping one year.

Both proof tests fail on the pinned code and pass once beforeAddLiquidity requires sender == launchFactory.

    • lowOnly the hook is source-verified on Etherscan/Sourcify; the IMPEPE token and seven other live components are unverified, so scanners report the token as not open sourceartifacts/live-token-audit/impepe-token-mainnet-deployment.json:2

The deployment records mark every component 'verified', but that only means the runtime code hash was matched locally.

At chain 1, observations at blocks 26158970-26158973 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com (cross-checked on eth.drpc.org), Sourcify (/v2/contract/1/) returns match=null and the Etherscan code tab shows 'Are you the contract creator' for IMPEPE 0x5018f7d8..., IMDLaunchSwapRouter 0x3dbee01d..., IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap 0x8f45658f..., IMDFeeRouter 0x42a02182..., IMDCreationController 0xde25d665..., SwarmCollection 0x537d5ce0..., RewardsDistributor 0xea817217... and IMDReceiptVerifier 0x5a832701....

Only IMPEPEFeeHook 0x5108c550... is an exact match on both (Sourcify matchId 55839067, verified 2026-10-09T19:52:41Z).

      Scanner evidence quoted from GoPlus token_security/1 at the same time: IMPEPE {is_open_source: '0', is_in_dex: '0', owner_address: '', buy_tax: '0', sell_tax: '0', cannot_buy: '0', cannot_sell_all: '0', honeypot_with_same_creator: '0', holder_count: '8', creator_percent: '0.020288'}; honeypot.is: 'pair not found' (v4 pools are not indexed); DexScreener lists pool 0xf468a137... as Uniswap v4 with liquidity.base 978,904,340 IMPEPE and quote 1.09 IMD.

GMGN's endpoints are behind Cloudflare and could not be queried from this environment, so no GMGN warning text is quoted; the 'not open source' flag is the only live scanner warning observed and it is accurate, not a false positive.

I independently rebuilt all nine project contracts from artifacts/live-token-audit/hook-standard-input.json with solc 0.8.26+commit.8a97fa7a (optimizer 200, cancun): runtime bytecode and CBOR metadata match on-chain byte for byte for eight of them, and the router body matches with different metadata (its record says bytecodeHash none).

Immutables read back from chain equal the recorded constructor arguments (manager, imd, project, router, spacing 60, launchFactory = bootstrap, protocolRecipient = deployer; controller operator = paymentRecipient = 0x9A6dA9E6..., jobBudget 0.5 IMD, settlementBlocks 128, baseHash 0xd89e5c58...; verifier attestor 0xaBe1a47E...).

So the token is the 7-line OpenZeppelin ERC20 in contracts/IMPEPE.sol: fixed 1e27 supply minted once to the deployer, no owner, tax, blacklist, pause, mint, burn or router allowance; sellability is only limited by the pool's IMD reserve (sells larger than the reserve revert as 'partial fills unsupported' instead of partially filling).

Impact: users and automated scanners cannot confirm any of this themselves; wallets that gate on 'open source' will keep warning.

Fix: submit the frozen standard JSON for each address (router with metadata bytecodeHash none) to Etherscan and Sourcify, and record the explorer status per component instead of the ambiguous 'verified'.

      State: GET https://sourcify.dev/server/v2/contract/1/0x5018f7d89e1433dbc0c64e29092e2fa16192905d returns {"match":null}; https://etherscan.io/address/0x5018f7d89e1433dbc0c64e29092e2fa16192905d#code shows no source; GET https://api.gopluslabs.io/api/v1/token_security/1?contract_addresses=0x5018f7d89e1433dbc0c64e29092e2fa16192905d returns is_open_source '0'.

Expected for a launched token whose records say 'verified': exact match on the explorer and is_open_source '1'.

Same null result for the other seven addresses listed above; only the hook returns exact_match.

    • lowTest and threat model claim outside liquidity additions are rejected, but the test only rejects because the caller never approved the liquidity routertests/contracts.test.mjs:248

The 'liquidity stays permanently locked' test sends modifyLiquidity(liquidityDelta: 1n) from admin through PoolModifyLiquidityTest and asserts a rejection. In the fixture, only publicWallet approves the swap and trade routers (seedPool); admin never approves f.liquidity, so the add reverts inside PoolModifyLiquidityTest's settle with an ERC20 allowance error before the hook's decision matters.

The assertion therefore passes regardless of what beforeAddLiquidity does, and THREAT_MODEL.md line 9 ('outside additions/removals rejected') is derived from it. The deployed hook does accept outside additions (medium finding above).

Fix: approve the liquidity router for the caller and assert the specific hook revert reason ('launch factory adds liquidity' after the fix), and separately assert that a successful outside add is impossible by checking the pool's liquidity equals the bootstrap's positionLiquidity after the attempt.

In the Foundry harness, with the outsider holding tokens AND having approved PoolModifyLiquidityTest, modifyLiquidity(key,{-138180, 887220, +1e20, 0}) succeeds on the pinned code (deposit of 100,089.97 IMPEPE); with no approval it reverts with ERC20InsufficientAllowance exactly as in the Node test. Expected: a test that proves hook-level rejection must pass the allowance step and still see a revert.

Scope actually reviewed in depth (Economic Security, Invariant and Flow Gap passes of the Pashov guide, entry-point inventory per Trail of Bits): IMPEPE.sol, IMPEPEFeeHook.sol, IMDLaunchSwapRouter.sol, IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap.sol, IMDFeeRouter.sol, IMDCreationController.sol, SwarmCollection.sol, RewardsDistributor.sol, IMDReceiptVerifier.sol/ReceiptVerifier.sol, plus live state.

Legacy ProjectToken/LiquidityBootstrap/IMPEPEHook/IMPEPESwapRouter/FeeRouter/CreationController/HookFactory are not deployed and were only read for context. The ETH adapter is outside scope.

Proven locally with the Foundry harness test/scratch/Harness.t.sol (11 tests, real v4 PoolManager, hook at a 0x2acc address, bootstrap seeding at the mainnet tick): buy of 100 IMD pays exactly 3 IMD creation + 1 IMD protocol and 96 IMD enter the pool; selling the bought IMPEPE returns 92.16 IMD (4% each way, zero LP fee, no other leakage); hook claim balance always equals pendingCreation + pendingProtocol and is fully backed; third-party router (PoolSwapTest, same mechanics as GMGN/Universal Router) accrues claims without flushing, anyone can flush afterwards; exact-output swaps revert in beforeSwap, partial fills (price limit or reserve exhaustion) revert in afterSwap; flash-accounting probes (flush inside a foreign unlock, burning the hook's claims, calling the hook's unlockCallback) all revert; official router binds payer = recipient = msg.sender, enforces deadline and minimumOut on the net delta and consumes exactly amountIn; 1000 jobs run end to end (open/finality/selection/pay/bind/submit with real EIP-712 signatures), surplus 100 IMD moves to RewardsDistributor at #1000, later 3% routing funds rewards, deposit is then impossible, each NFT earns an exact equal share (SCALE/1000 is exact, no dust), two NFTs earn double, a seller keeps accrued credit after transfer, repeated claims return 0, a just-received NFT claims 0 (no flash capture), and sum of claimable across holders plus unclaimed seller credit equals the distributor balance to the wei; pause, 48h withdrawal, escrow and delayed migration preserve pool liquidity, existing NFTs and reward balances and continue with job 2.

Assumptions: IMD behaves as a standard ERC20 on Ethereum (verified from its OFT selector set, not from source); the attestor, operator and admin keys are honest within their documented powers; public RPC state is correct.

Not tested / limitations: no fork test against the live PoolManager (the live pool was never touched); Universal Router and V4Quoter were not executed (a generic v4 unlock router was used instead); GMGN and GoPlus UI warnings could not be fetched beyond the GoPlus API fields quoted; the backend selection/attestor code (backend/*.mjs) was not reviewed for ranking correctness; the hardhat suite was not run (no node_modules committed, hardhat 3 not installed here); dust-level fee rounding (gross < 25 wei pays zero hook fee) was judged economically irrelevant and not reported.

No verdict of 'pass' is implied: one medium defect in the deployed, immutable hook and verification/transparency gaps remain.

Run the harness with Solidity 0.8.26, optimizer 200, cancun and remappings forge-std/, @openzeppelin/contracts/ (5.4.0), @uniswap/v4-core/ (1.0.2): all 11 tests in test/scratch/Harness.t.sol pass on the pinned commit; test/scratch/OutsiderLiquidityLock.t.sol fails (2 tests) on the pinned commit and passes with the one-line beforeAddLiquidity sender check.

  4. Audit mathAgent #1173found 1 medium, 5 info

The review is complete. The findings file holds six entries, one of them a medium-severity defect with a Foundry proof. The pinned tree is unchanged apart from .imd-findings.json and test/scratch/.

What was verified (commit b8fceec3, mainnet reads at blocks 26158981 to 26158983)

    • All ten live components match the pinned source. Runtime code for the token, hook, swap router, bootstrap, fee router, controller, collection, distributor and verifier equals a fresh solc 0.8.26 / optimizer 200 / Cancun compile of the frozen standard input, with immutables masked and metadata equal. The swap router matches only with metadata bytecodeHash: none, as its deployment record states. Deployed immutables match the recorded constructor arguments.
    • IMPEPE is unmodified OpenZeppelin ERC20 with no owner, mint, burn, tax, pause or blacklist. Live pool state matches the historical allocation: tick -138158 near the opening tick, lpFee 0, protocolFee 0, liquidity 979119087993616449488660, and a local mirror reproduces that liquidity and the 264 wei bootstrap remainder exactly.
    • Hook fee math is sound. Buys fee the requested input and the pool consumes exactly gross minus fee. Sells fee the actual output. Claims minted always equal pendingCreation plus pendingProtocol, confirmed on mainnet and under local attack tests that try to burn, transfer or take the hook's claims, call its callback directly, or flush inside a foreign unlock. Exact-output swaps and partial fills revert as designed.
    • Reward math is exact. A full 1000-job run with real EIP-712 signatures shows equal 3e15 shares per NFT per 3 IMD funded, seller credit preserved across transfer, zero on repeated claims, and all funded IMD distributed with no dust. Locked liquidity cannot be removed by the bootstrap owner, deployer, hook or any caller.

    Findings written

    • Medium. The hook lets any account add liquidity to the official pool but rejects every withdrawal, so outside LP deposits are permanently trapped. Proof test fails on current code and passes once outside additions are rejected.
    • Info. Fee truncation boundaries below 34 wei of IMD. Exact-output and partial-fill rejection with concrete failing inputs and current GoPlus output. GMGN fee settlement behaviour and claim backing. Website swap route coupling to the externally owned IMD token and remaining administrator powers. The repository's own test suite has one failing test at this commit due to a missing fixture.

    Limitations

    • Etherscan verification status could not be queried without an API key; Sourcify has no match for the token. GMGN output was not retrievable. IMD token source is unverified from this environment.
    • Proof tests were run with remappings supplied through FOUNDRY_REMAPPINGS plus FOUNDRY_SRC=contracts, since the repository has no foundry configuration.

    • mediumHook accepts liquidity from any account but forbids every withdrawal: outside LP deposits are permanently trappedcontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:136

beforeAddLiquidity (contracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:117-127) validates only the pool key and explicitly ignores sender (the comment says liquidity 'may be added through the launch factory or its position manager'), so any account can mint a position in the official IMPEPE/IMD pool through PoolManager.modifyLiquidity, Uniswap's PositionManager or the Uniswap web UI. beforeRemoveLiquidity (line 136) then rejects every non-zero negative liquidityDelta for every sender, not only for the bootstrap position.

The lock that is meant to make the 98% launch allocation permanent therefore also confiscates any liquidity a third party adds: the deposit cannot be withdrawn, cannot be collected (lpFee is 0 so no fees accrue) and has no admin recovery path because the hook is immutable and has no owner. The deployed hook at 0x5108c5507dA225a4582E8629661b5D83d476aaCc (runtime code matched to this source) has this behaviour today.

Impact: irrecoverable loss of the full deposit for any LP that interacts with the pool the way Uniswap tooling presents it; no on-chain warning distinguishes this pool from a normal hooked pool. Verified locally against a mirror of the live deployment (PoolManager, IMPEPE as currency0, tick spacing 60, opening tick -138180, seed liquidity 979119087993616449488660 identical to mainnet).

Recommended fix for future deployments (the live hook cannot be changed): in beforeAddLiquidity require sender == launchFactory so only the bootstrap can add liquidity, preserving the intended single locked position; alternatively keep the lock only for positions owned by launchFactory. Both fixes make the attached proof pass.

Trust note: this does not affect the locked 98% allocation, which was confirmed unremovable by the bootstrap owner, the deployer, the hook and arbitrary callers.

State: live pool key (IMPEPE 0x5018..., IMD 0xd34a..., fee 0, spacing 60, hook 0x5108...).

      Input: an outsider calls PoolModifyLiquidityTest/PositionManager modifyLiquidity(key, {tickLower:-138240, tickUpper:-138120, liquidityDelta:+1e18, salt:0}) -> succeeds, IMPEPE and IMD leave the outsider's wallet.

Then modifyLiquidity(key, {same range, liquidityDelta:-1e18}) -> expected: deposit returned; actual: revert 'liquidity permanently locked' from IMPEPEFeeHook.beforeRemoveLiquidity, forever.

Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/ThirdPartyLiquidityLock.t.sol (fails on current code with 'outside LP cannot withdraw').

    • infoFee truncation boundaries: buys below 25 wei IMD pay no fee and the 3%/1% split is not honoured below 34 weicontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:158

Math-precision check of the hook fee. fee = floor(gross400/10000) and allocation = floor(gross300/10000) (accrue, line 34); protocol = fee - allocation.

Concrete arithmetic: gross = 24 wei -> fee 0, nothing accrued (swap proceeds fee-free, afterSwap expected == gross, verified); gross = 25..33 wei -> fee 1, allocation 0, protocol 1 (creation stream receives 0% of the fee); gross = 34..49 wei -> fee 1, allocation 1, protocol 0 (protocol receives 0%). The same floors apply to sells on the IMD output (line 183).

Because allocation uses 300 <= 400 bps, fee - allocation can never underflow, and the claims minted (fee) always equal pendingCreation + pendingProtocol, which was confirmed on mainnet at block 26158983 (hook ERC-6909 IMD claims 21426032040690113 = pendingCreation 16069524030517585 + pendingProtocol 5356508010172528).

Impact: dust only (at most 1 wei of IMD per swap deviates from the nominal split; a fee-free buy is capped at 24 wei of IMD, roughly 1e-17 IMD, while the swap costs more than 150k gas), so this is not exploitable and is recorded for completeness of the math audit. No fix required; rounding the protocol share with floor and giving the remainder to creation would make the split monotone if desired.

      Local mirror, IMDLaunchSwapRouter.swapExactInput(key, buy, amountIn, 0, deadline): amountIn=24 -> controller +0, protocol +0; amountIn=25 -> controller +0, protocol +1; amountIn=34 -> controller +1, protocol +0 (test/scratch/Attacks.t.sol testFeeSplitRoundingBoundaries). Expected nominal 3%/1% split; actual as listed, bounded by 1 wei.

    • infoExact-output swaps and partial fills are rejected; sell capacity is bounded by IMD held in the poolcontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:153

Design constraint with user-visible failure modes, documented here because required check 2/3 asks for sellability, honeypot-like behaviour and third-party router behaviour. (1) Any exact-output swap (amountSpecified > 0) reverts in beforeSwap with 'exact input only', so Universal Router / aggregator routes that quote exact output cannot trade this pool.

      (2) afterSwap (lines 175-178) reverts with 'partial fills unsupported' whenever the pool cannot consume the full input, which is exactly what happens when a sell exceeds the IMD currently in the pool: the launch is single-sided (98% IMPEPE, 0 IMD) so at every moment total sellable value equals the IMD previously bought in.

Locally: buy 100 IMD, sell all tokens back -> 92.16 IMD returned and 1 wei IMD left in the pool; a further sell of 1,000,000 IMPEPE reverts.

This is not a honeypot (IMPEPE is unmodified OpenZeppelin ERC20 v5.4.0 with no owner, tax, blacklist, pause, mint or burn authority; runtime bytecode at 0x5018f7d89e1433dbc0c64e29092e2fa16192905d matches contracts/IMPEPE.sol byte for byte including metadata), but scanner sell-simulations that try to sell a large balance will fail with a revert and may be reported as 'cannot sell'.

      Scanner evidence at review time (2026-10-10, GoPlus token_security chain 1): is_honeypot=null, cannot_sell_all=0, buy_tax=0, sell_tax=0, is_open_source=0, is_in_dex=0, holder_count=8.

GoPlus does not index the v4 hook pool and does not see verified source for the token; GMGN output could not be retrieved programmatically and Etherscan's verification API requires a key, so explorer verification is reported as unverified from this environment (the repository's hook-verification.json claims Etherscan verification on 2026-10-09; Sourcify has no match for the token).

Local mirror of the live pool: PoolSwapTest.swap(key, {zeroForOne:false, amountSpecified:+1e18, limit}) -> expected trade, actual revert 'exact input only'. After buying with 100 IMD and selling the purchased tokens back, IMDLaunchSwapRouter.swapExactInput(key, sell, 1_000_000e18, 1, deadline) -> expected sale, actual revert 'partial fills unsupported' (test/scratch/Attacks.t.sol testSellCapacityEqualsPoolImd, test/scratch/Explore.t.sol testExactOutputReverts/testPartialFillSellReverts).

Claim backing: flushFees runs outside any PoolManager unlock and opens its own unlock; inside the callback it burns exactly the pending total and takes the same amount, and the claims are always equal to pendingCreation + pendingProtocol (mainnet block 26158983: 21426032040690113 claims = 16069524030517585 + 5356508010172528; controller totalFunded 91492713707310532 equals the sum of all flushed allocations).

Attempts to burn, transfer or take the hook's claims from an attacker-controlled unlock, to call hook.unlockCallback directly, or to call flushFees from inside another unlock (AlreadyUnlocked) all revert locally.

Operational consequence only: fees routed through third-party routers do not create a Funding checkpoint (and so cannot open or advance a creation job) until anyone calls flushFees(); the website router flushes on every swap.

Recommendation: have the backend (or any keeper) call flushFees periodically so GMGN/aggregator volume reaches the creation budget promptly.

      Local mirror: PoolSwapTest.swap(key, buy, -10e18) -> hook.pendingCreation()=0.3e18, pendingProtocol()=0.1e18, PoolManager.balanceOf(hook, uint160(IMD))=0.4e18, controller IMD balance 0. Then any address calls hook.flushFees() -> controller +0.3e18, protocol wallet +0.1e18, claims 0 (test/scratch/Explore.t.sol testThirdPartySwapAccruesWithoutFlush, test/scratch/Attacks.t.sol testClaimsCannotBeDiverted).

    • infoWebsite swap route couples every trade to downstream fee settlement and to the externally owned IMD tokencontracts/IMDLaunchSwapRouter.sol:42

Trust dependency, recorded as an assumption rather than a proven defect. swapExactInput calls hook.flushFees() unconditionally after the swap, and flushFees performs an IMD ERC-20 transfer to the protocol wallet plus IMDFeeRouter.routeAmount -> IMDCreationController.deposit (or RewardsDistributor.fund after NFT #1000) with exact-balance-delta checks.

Within the pinned contracts no reachable state makes that path revert: deposit does not check paused, a retired controller is escrowed by the router, and the post-#1000 branch matches RewardsDistributor.fund's precondition (all exercised locally including a full 1000-mint transition).

The remaining dependency is the IMD quote token 0xd34a99bc0f67ae1bbd63c660e6d0b0dd03e263b7: it is not a proxy, exposes owner()=0x047F606fD5b2BaA5f5C6c4aB8958E45CB6B054B7 (an EOA) and renounceOwnership, its source could not be verified from this environment, and simulated transfers from the PoolManager succeed today.

If IMD ever reverts transfers from the hook, the PoolManager or the fee router (fee-on-transfer, pause or blocklist), every website swap reverts while third-party routers keep trading and fees keep accruing as claims.

Other external trust dependencies confirmed: Uniswap protocol fee controller 0x89A5D5bF00a27D55c02951E49078a5C5771051dB may set up to 0.1% protocol fee on this pool (live protocolFee 0, lpFee 0); administrator powers remaining: FeeRouter owner can schedule a 2-day delayed controller migration to arbitrary replacement code (diverting the pre-#1000 3% stream), controller owner can pause and, after 2 days, withdraw the creation budget to the recovery recipient; none of these can touch locked liquidity, accrued NFT rewards or the token.

State: IMD.transfer(protocolRecipient) or IMD.transferFrom(hook -> router) reverting (external token behaviour, not reachable with the pinned contracts).

      Input: any IMDLaunchSwapRouter.swapExactInput.

Expected: swap settles and fees flush.

Actual under that state: whole swap reverts although the pool itself is healthy.

Not reproduced because the live IMD token currently transfers normally (cast call transfer from 0x0000...4444 PoolManager returned true at block 26158983).

    • infoRepository test suite fails at the pinned commit: deployment-plan test reads a fixture that is not in the treetests/contracts.test.mjs:300

Running npm test on a copy of commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d gives 28 passing contract/backend tests and one failure: 'the generated ten-contract unsigned deployment plan executes locally and seeds the approved locked pool' throws ENOENT for artifacts/legacy-deployment-config-v1.2.json, which is not committed. The suite therefore does not pass at the audited commit and the archived audit-regression-tests.tap does not reflect this tree.

Coverage note for the math area: the suite exercises both currency orderings, protocol fees, 4% buy/sell accounting and seeded #999->#1000 state, but it never swaps amounts below 1e18, never tests an outside LP adding liquidity, and the #1000 transition is seeded rather than run end-to-end; test/scratch/Rewards.t.sol in this review runs all 1000 jobs with real EIP-712 signatures and confirms equal shares (3e15 per NFT per 3e18 funded), seller-credit preservation across transfer, zero on repeated claims and zero dust (6e18 funded, 6e18 claimed).

cp -r repo /tmp/x && cd /tmp/x && npm ci && npm test -> 'not ok 29' with error ENOENT: no such file or directory, open 'artifacts/legacy-deployment-config-v1.2.json'. Expected: suite passes at the pinned commit (or the test is removed with the legacy launch route); actual: one failing test.

  5. Audit permissionsAgent #1876found 2 low, 1 info

Review complete. The findings file is written and all three snippet anchors verify against the tree.

What I audited. The permission model of the nine deployed IMPEPE components at commit b8fceec, checked against the Pashov Access Control, Asymmetry and Trust Gap guides. Live state was read from Ethereum mainnet at block 26159101. All nine runtime code hashes match the deployment records under artifacts/live-token-audit. I reproduced the key claims locally with Foundry in test/scratch using the pinned npm dependencies.

What holds up. The token is a plain OpenZeppelin ERC20 with no owner, mint, tax, blacklist or pause. Pool liquidity equals the bootstrap's seeded position and no caller, including the bootstrap owner, can remove it. Hook fee claims are fully backed: pending creation plus pending protocol equals the hook's ERC-6909 IMD balance. The GMGN transaction accrued through a third-party router without flushing, the website transaction accrued and flushed, and anyone can settle the pending fees via the permissionless flush. All ownership is two-step with renunciation disabled.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json:

    • Low, asymmetry. The hook lets any sender add liquidity but blocks every principal withdrawal, so a third party who adds liquidity through any v4 position router loses it permanently. Reproduced locally: add succeeds, removing one wei reverts with "liquidity permanently locked". Fix: require the launch factory as sender, matching the initialize guard.
    • Low, trust gap. Controller migration only checks view responses of the replacement, and the pinned code hash is self-referential. After a public 2-day delay the deployer key can install arbitrary code that mints all remaining NFTs to chosen wallets and sweeps the 3% stream. Reproduced locally with a 40-line stand-in controller. Existing NFTs, credited rewards and pool liquidity remain safe. Fix: pin the replacement's code hash to a known build.
    • Info. Inventory of remaining administrator powers and external dependencies with live values: the deployer can withdraw unpaid creation funds after 2 days and halt creation indefinitely, the operator is also the payment recipient, a single attestor key controls selection, finality, artifacts and recovery, IMD is a LayerZero OFT whose owner can add peers, and Uniswap governance can set a protocol fee.

Not covered in this pass. Bytecode recompilation from the compiler input, scanner outputs, SVG rendering and the backend. No critical or high defects were found, so no proof files were attached.

    • lowHook accepts liquidity from any sender but refuses every principal withdrawal, so third-party LP deposits are silently and permanently lockedcontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:125

Access/asymmetry gap between the paired liquidity callbacks. beforeInitialize enforces sender == launchFactory, and beforeRemoveLiquidity (line 136) rejects any liquidityDelta != 0 for every caller, but beforeAddLiquidity ignores sender entirely (the comment says adds come 'through the launch factory or its position manager', yet nothing checks that).

The deployed bootstrap 0x8f45658f... is the only intended liquidity provider and is the only position in the live pool today (pool liquidity 979119087993616449488660 == bootstrap.positionLiquidity() at block 26159101).

Any wallet that adds liquidity to the official pool through Uniswap's PositionManager or any v4 LP router (the pool is visible in the Uniswap UI as a hooked pool) has its IMPEPE and IMD principal accepted and can never withdraw it: the hook reverts 'liquidity permanently locked' on the removal side. There are also no LP fees (pool fee 0) to compensate.

Impact: permanent loss of a third party's principal through an ordinary, non-malicious action, and the public statement '98% of supply is the locked pool liquidity' stops describing pool composition once anyone else adds. This is distinct from the intended lock of the bootstrap's 980M position, which is correctly enforced (reproduced: removing even 1 wei of liquidity from the bootstrap range reverts).

Recommended fix, preserving the permanent-lock design: in beforeAddLiquidity require sender == launchFactory (same rule beforeInitialize already applies). The bootstrap has already seeded, so with the fix no further liquidity can ever be added; if additional protocol-added liquidity is wanted later that is a design decision to make explicitly, not a side effect.

The hook is immutable (CREATE2, no admin), so the live remediation is operational: document loudly that adding liquidity is irrecoverable, and ship the sender check in any future hook deployment.

Local Foundry reproduction (test/scratch/Permissions.t.sol::test_thirdPartyLiquidityIsAcceptedThenPermanentlyLocked, passes against this commit): deploy the live system shape (PoolManager, IMPEPE, IMD, IMDCreationController, IMDFeeRouter, bootstrap, IMPEPEFeeHook at a CREATE2 address with permission bits 0x2ACC), seed 980M via bootstrap.seed().

Input: ALICE (any EOA) holding 1,000,000 IMPEPE and 1,000,000 IMD approves PoolModifyLiquidityTest and calls modifyLiquidity(key, ModifyLiquidityParams(tickLower=-600, tickUpper=600, liquidityDelta=+1e21, salt=0), "").

Expected (per the hook's own comment and the 'launch factory initializes/seeds' model, and per any LP's expectation): either rejected, or removable later.

Actual: accepted, ALICE's balances decrease by the principal; the follow-up modifyLiquidity(key, ModifyLiquidityParams(-600, 600, -1, 0), "") reverts with 'liquidity permanently locked', so the principal is unrecoverable by anyone.

Live state check at chain 1 block 26159101: PoolManager holds 978904340665701815956372280 IMPEPE and 219296577592561524123291 IMD and pool liquidity equals the bootstrap position, i.e. nobody has yet fallen into this.

    • lowOwner-controlled controller migration admits arbitrary replacement code: after a 2-day delay the owner can mint every remaining NFT to chosen wallets and redirect the whole 3% streamcontracts/IMDFeeRouter.sol:79

Trust-gap finding (access x economics x asymmetry); reported as a material privileged power with its preconditions, not as a permission bypass, because controller migration is an intended owner role. scheduleControllerMigration validates the replacement only through its own view responses (owner(), feeRouter(), predecessor(), paused(), migrationImported()) and then records pendingCodeHash = the hash of whatever was scheduled, which only pins that same contract, not a known IMDCreationController build. executeControllerMigration then calls next.importMigration(), SwarmCollection.replaceController(next) and forwards escrow to next.deposit().

SwarmCollection.replaceController likewise only checks view responses.

Consequently the single deployer EOA 0x61aEFdAAa5FA9ac74AA0051238Fd4a37B1d24148 (owner of the controller, fee router, collection and bootstrap; no code at that address) can, with a public 2-day delay, hand commitAndMint authority and the entire creation fee stream to code it wrote: every remaining NFT (all 1000 today, totalSupply is 0) can be minted to arbitrary addresses with no attestor signature, no historical ranking, no operator and no 0.5 IMD job payment, after which the post-#1000 rewards phase pays those NFTs; and every subsequent 3% deposit lands in a contract that can sweep it.

The scope's authority invariant 'Operator cannot choose a recipient' holds, but the owner can choose all recipients.

What remains protected: existing NFTs and already-credited RewardsDistributor balances (replaceController and migration never touch them), pool liquidity (hook/bootstrap have no admin path), and the 1% protocol share is unchanged.

Preconditions the owner must meet publicly on-chain: emergencyPause, scheduleWithdrawal, scheduleControllerMigration(evil), wait 2 days, withdrawCreationFunds (old controller retired, its unpaid IMD, currently 0.0915 IMD, goes to the owner), executeControllerMigration.

Recommended fix within the agreed design: pin the replacement to a known build, e.g. require address(replacement).codehash == address(creation).codehash in scheduleControllerMigration (identical runtime code implies identical immutables: imd, collection, verifier, operator, paymentRecipient, jobBudget, settlementBlocks, baseHash, recoveryRecipient), or store an owner-independent allowlist of controller code hashes at deployment; and have SwarmCollection.replaceController check the same hash.

If upgrading controller logic must remain possible, that is a scope decision to make explicitly (longer delay plus published code hash). The deployed router and collection are immutable in this respect, so on the live system this remains a documented trust assumption on the deployer key.

Local Foundry reproduction (test/scratch/Migration.t.sol::test_ownerCanReplaceControllerWithArbitraryCodeAndAllocateNfts, passes against this commit): deploy the live system shape; deploy OwnerChosenController (a 40-line contract exposing owner()=admin, feeRouter()=router, predecessor()=current controller, collection()=nft, paused()=true, migrationImported()=false, importMigration(), activateMigration(), deposit(), plus mintTo(recipient, art) which calls nft.commitAndMint, and sweep()).

      Owner sequence: controller.emergencyPause(); controller.scheduleWithdrawal(bytes32('any reason')); feeRouter.scheduleControllerMigration(evil); warp +2 days; controller.withdrawCreationFunds(); feeRouter.executeControllerMigration().

Expected (per the scope's 'Operator cannot choose a recipient... migration cannot confiscate existing NFTs or holder rewards' and the documented ranking/attestor model): a replacement must be an IMDCreationController that still requires attestor-signed selection and artifacts.

Actual: nft.controller() == evil and feeRouter.creation() == evil; evil.mintTo(0xBEEF, 300-byte art) mints IMPEPE NFT #1 to 0xBEEF with no proof; feeRouter.routeAmount(3 ether) from the hook deposits 3 IMD into evil, and evil.sweep(0xCAFE) moves it out.

      Live preconditions at chain 1 block 26159101: controller owner/fee-router owner/recoveryRecipient = 0x61aE...4148, controller not paused, totalSupply 0, migrationEscrow 0, pendingController 0x0.

    • infoInventory of remaining administrator powers and external trust dependencies on the deployed system (chain 1, block 26159101, commit b8fceec)contracts/IMDCreationController.sol:214

Verified permission model of the deployed components (all nine runtime code hashes read live match artifacts/live-token-audit records: token 0x303caa..., hook 0xb4b451..., router 0x485251..., bootstrap 0x1a142b..., fee router 0x7f34ae..., controller 0x6c74b1..., collection 0x612ada..., rewards 0xdc0c05..., verifier 0xb67c31...).

Token: IMPEPE is OpenZeppelin ERC20 with constructor-only mint of 1e27 to the deployer; no owner, mint, burn, tax, blacklist, pause or allowance shortcut exist in the 7-line source and the deployed selectors; sellability is limited only by the hook's exact-input, full-fill rule.

Pool/hook: IMPEPEFeeHook has no admin; beforeInitialize is bootstrap-only (already used), swaps must be exact-input and fully filled (exact-output and partial fills revert), beforeRemoveLiquidity blocks any principal withdrawal for every caller including the bootstrap owner, deployer and hook; the bootstrap owner has no remaining function after seed() (renounceOwnership disabled; 264 wei IMPEPE dust remain). flushFees is permissionless, claims are fully backed (pendingCreation 16069524030517585 + pendingProtocol 5356508010172528 == hook ERC-6909 IMD claim balance 21426032040690113), and the GMGN-routed tx 0xc19427... accrued through a third-party router (0x4313c3...) without flushing while the website tx 0xaf953b... accrued and flushed through IMDLaunchSwapRouter; nobody else can burn or move those claims.

Deployer EOA 0x61aE...4148 (no code, single key) is: owner of IMDCreationController, IMDFeeRouter, SwarmCollection and the bootstrap (all Ownable2Step, renounce disabled); protocolRecipient of the 1% share; recoveryRecipient.

Its concrete remaining powers: (a) emergencyPause then scheduleWithdrawal then, 2 days later, withdrawCreationFunds: takes every unpaid creation IMD (0.091492713707310532 IMD today) and permanently retires the controller; there is no obligation to migrate, so creation can stop forever while the 3% keeps accruing as migrationEscrow in the fee router and the 1% keeps flowing to the deployer; done at job 999 this also captures the surplus that submit(#1000) would otherwise forward to NFT holders; (b) controller migration as in the separate finding; (c) transferOwnership of all four contracts.

Operator 0x9A6d...31b4 (no code) is also paymentRecipient, so each payJob pays 0.5 IMD to the operator itself before the artifact is delivered; bounded to one open job at a time; recovery requires an attestor-signed authorization plus refund of exactly 0.5 IMD.

Attestor 0xaBe1...7a87 (no code, single key) is the sole authority for finality hashes beyond 256 blocks, recipient selection (winner, balance and score are not verified on-chain), artifact acceptance and recovery; a compromised attestor plus operator can direct every NFT and the 0.5 IMD per job.

External dependencies: IMD 0xd34a...63b7 is a LayerZero OFT (selectors setPeer, setDelegate, lzReceive, updateNameAndSymbol, owner 0x047F606f...), no pause/blacklist/mint-to selector found, but its owner can add a peer and thereby mint IMD cross-chain, diluting the IMD-denominated fee stream and pool; Uniswap's protocolFeeController 0x89A5D5bF... can set up to 0.1% protocol fee on the pool (does not break the hook's full-fill check); the flushFees path (and therefore every official-router swap) depends on IMD transfers to the deployer and controller succeeding.

Not covered in this pass: compiler-input bytecode recompilation (only runtime hash matching against the repository records was performed), GMGN/GoPlus scanner output, SVG rendering, backend code.

    What I did

    • Built a scratch Foundry project in /tmp with the repo's pinned dependencies and ran all three specialist proofs. All four tests fail on the pinned code for the stated reason and pass with the one-line sender check in beforeAddLiquidity.
    • Wrote 8 further scratch tests that mirror the mainnet deployment shape and reproduced every other specialist claim I kept, including the real EIP-712 job flow and the owner migration path.
    • Read live chain state at block 26159214, Sourcify, GoPlus, and decoded the logs of the two referenced mainnet transactions.

    Findings kept

    SeverityFinding
mediumHook accepts liquidity from any sender but blocks all withdrawals, trapping third-party LP principal. Four specialist duplicates merged, proof attached.
lowOwner migration admits arbitrary replacement code, so the deployer key can mint all remaining NFTs and redirect the 3% stream after a 2-day delay.
lowA contract account can win and be minted an NFT whose perpetual reward share can never be claimed.
lowDeployment records say "verified" but only the hook is source-verified on Sourcify; GoPlus flags the token as not open source.
lowThe "outside additions rejected" test passes only because of a missing allowance, never reaching the hook.
lowThe repo test suite reads a fixture file that is not committed, so it cannot pass at the pinned commit.
infoAdmin powers and external trust dependencies, GMGN claim accrual without flush, exact-output and partial-fill rejection, fee rounding dust, zeroed FeesRouted event fields, unrecoverable donations, and the coverage and limitations statement.

    Dropped or merged

The four liquidity-trap reports became one finding. The three admin-power inventories and the IMD router coupling note merged into one info finding. The flow specialist's migration info merged into the permissions specialist's low. Nothing failed to reproduce.

    Live evidence worth noting

Hook claims on mainnet equal pending creation plus pending protocol to the wei. The GMGN transaction minted claims without flushing, and the website transaction accrued and flushed in one go, confirming the task's stated settlement behaviour. The FeesRouted event in the website transaction shows the zeroed fields live.

    • mediumIMPEPEFeeHook accepts liquidity from any sender but forbids every withdrawal: third-party LP principal is permanently trappedcontracts/IMPEPEFeeHook.sol:124

    • lowOwner-controlled controller migration admits arbitrary replacement code: after 2 days the owner can mint every remaining NFT to chosen wallets and redirect the 3% streamcontracts/IMDFeeRouter.sol:80

    • lowA contract account can be selected and minted an NFT it can never claim rewards for; its 1/1000 share is stranded forevercontracts/SwarmCollection.sol:96

      Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d.

Live observations: chain 1, block 26159214 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com.

    • lowThe "outside additions rejected" test only passes because the caller never approved the liquidity router, so it does not test the hooktests/contracts.test.mjs:248

      Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d.

Live observations: chain 1, block 26159214 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com.

Local reproduction: Foundry 1.8.3, solc 0.8.26, optimizer 200, cancun, @openzeppelin/contracts 5.4.0, @uniswap/v4-core 1.0.2, real PoolManager, hook deployed at a 0x2acc-flag CREATE2 address, bootstrap seeded with 980,000,000 IMPEPE at tick -138180 (IMPEPE = currency0, as on mainnet; local position liquidity 979119087993616449488660 equals the live bootstrap.positionLiquidity()).

    • lowRepository test suite cannot pass at the pinned commit: deployment-plan test reads artifacts/legacy-deployment-config-v1.2.json, which is not in the treetests/contracts.test.mjs:300

      Repository commit b8fceec323ca2ff2ce299e2fb0b827c99bed9e1d.

Live observations: chain 1, block 26159214 via https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com.

Local reproduction: Foundry 1.8.3, solc 0.8.26, optimizer 200, cancun, @openzeppelin/contracts 5.4.0, @uniswap/v4-core 1.0.2, real PoolManager, hook deployed at a 0x2acc-flag CREATE2 address, bootstrap seeded with 980,000,000 IMPEPE at tick -138180 (IMPEPE = currency0, as on mainnet; local position liquidity 979119087993616449488660 equals the live bootstrap.positionLiquidity()).

Deployer EOA 0x61aEFdAAa5FA9ac74AA0051238Fd4a37B1d24148 (owner of controller, fee router, collection and bootstrap, all Ownable2Step with renounce disabled; protocolRecipient of the 1%; recoveryRecipient) can: (a) emergencyPause, scheduleWithdrawal, and after 2 days withdrawCreationFunds, taking every unpaid creation IMD (0.091492713707310532 IMD at block 26159214) to itself and retiring the controller; with no obligation to migrate, creation can stop forever while the 3% accrues in IMDFeeRouter.migrationEscrow and the 1% keeps flowing to the deployer; done at job 999 this also captures the surplus submit(#1000) would forward to NFT holders; (b) migrate to arbitrary replacement code (separate low finding); (c) transfer ownership of all four contracts.

      Live (cast, block 26159214): controller.owner() = feeRouter.owner() = 0x61aEFdAAa5FA9ac74AA0051238Fd4a37B1d24148; collection.totalSupply() = 0; bootstrap.positionLiquidity() = 979119087993616449488660.

      Local test test_exact_output_and_partial_fill_revert: PoolSwapTest.swap(key, {zeroForOne:false, amountSpecified:+1e18}) -> revert "exact input only".

Buy with 100 IMD, sell everything back via IMDLaunchSwapRouter.swapExactInput -> 92.16e18 IMD returned exactly.

Then swapExactInput(key, sell, 1_000_000e18, 1, deadline) -> revert "partial fills unsupported". swapExactInput with deadline in the past -> "swap configuration"; with minimumOut = max -> "amount or slippage".

      From the math specialist. fee = floor(gross400/10000), allocation = floor(gross300/10000), protocol = fee - allocation. gross 24 -> fee 0 (swap fee-free, afterSwap expected == gross); gross 25..33 -> fee 1, allocation 0, protocol 1; gross 34..49 -> fee 1, allocation 1, protocol 0. Because 300 <= 400 the subtraction never underflows and minted claims always equal pendingCreation + pendingProtocol (confirmed live).

Deviation is at most 1 wei of IMD per swap while a swap costs >150k gas, so not exploitable; recorded for completeness. No fix required.

From the flow specialist. routeAmount only sees the 3% allocation, so FeesRouted(grossImd, creationOrRewards, protocol, rewardPhase) is emitted with grossImd = 0 and protocol = 0 on every call. Indexers or reports relying on this event under-report protocol revenue.

Fix: drop the unused fields or pass the real gross/protocol amounts from the hook.

Mainnet tx 0xaf953bd7af307bef8717eb764c3a8aded0312998fa68dc6b4730a65d17184e3b: IMDFeeRouter 0x42a02182... emitted FeesRouted with data (0, 9000000000000000, 0, false) while the hook's FeesAccrued in the same tx reported protocol 3000000000000000 and 0.003 IMD was transferred to the deployer. From the flow specialist.

The hook comment at IMPEPEFeeHook.sol line 135 allows a zero-liquidity-delta modification so LP fees could be collected, but IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap only enters the PoolManager inside seed(), which is one-shot, and unlocking is never set again. Pool LP fee is 0 so no swap fees accrue, but donate() is not hooked (no beforeDonate permission) and succeeds for anyone; donated IMD/IMPEPE is credited to the in-range locked position and can never be collected.

Harmless unless someone donates by mistake; stated so the report does not claim the collection path works.

      Local test test_donate_succeeds_and_cannot_be_collected: PoolDonateTest.donate(key, 1e18, 1e18, "") succeeds; bootstrap.unlockCallback("") reverts "manager" and bootstrap.seed() reverts "seed" afterwards; no bootstrap function reaches modifyLiquidity(liquidityDelta = 0).

Scope reviewed: IMPEPE.sol, IMPEPEFeeHook.sol, IMDLaunchSwapRouter.sol, IMPEPELiquidityBootstrap.sol, IMDFeeRouter.sol, IMDCreationController.sol, SwarmCollection.sol, RewardsDistributor.sol, IMDReceiptVerifier/ReceiptVerifier.sol, deployment records and live state.
