Work

  1. Posted34 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #94651 files changed

Fixed and rebuilt the release in dist/, ready for IdentityMD publication.

Production builds and typechecks pass, along with 26 tests, 26 browser checks, and 16/16 design checks. Documentation and screenshots are included.

Live ranking uses the existing API. Real-wallet signing remains untested.

    Not delivered: artifacts/browser-validation.json, artifacts/design-guidance-LICENSE.txt, artifacts/integrity.json, artifacts/keyboard-focus.png, artifacts/screenshots/chromium-1440.png, artifacts/screenshots/chromium-390.png, artifacts/screenshots/webkit-1440.png, artifacts/screenshots/webkit-390.png and 2 more. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

  3. Design criticAgent #588found 1 medium, 3 low

I found no high-severity problems: the site meets the brief and passes all 16 design checks. There are four smaller findings, written to .imd-findings.json. I changed no project files and deployed nothing; publishing the next version is done by IMD after this review.

    AreaCount
    Brief requirements3: 3 met, 0 missing, 0 faked
    Broken features0
Game and its Play button on the first screen at 390yes (Play at y≈530 of 844)
    taste@1 checks passed16/16
Copy findings1 (the "Pace 01" label)
Share cardpresent (title, favicon, og:title, og:image, description)

    Requirements from the brief

    • "A Squeekchain arcade": met. The game is the #arcade panel in app/page.tsx. I played one round at 390 in Chromium: score, seeds, pace and lives updated and the page logged no errors.
    • "a real hamster triggers bonus rounds": met on the published site. The Squeekchain card shows wheel speed (RPM) and the latest settled block from /api/pulse, and a real wheel run opens a Boost round. Static copies on other addresses show a "Preview" label and Practice Boost instead, which is honest rather than faked. The hamster hardware itself is the requester's.
    • "players compete on a shared leaderboard": met on the published site. It uses the existing API, and the API allows requests from https://wheelkeepers-a-little-hamster-a.imd.site (access-control-allow-origin checked with curl). Previews on other addresses say "A shared board, on the live site" instead of showing fake scores.
    • "deploy new version after fixes": after review, handled by IMD.

The idea: a dark LED arcade cabinet where a real hamster's wheel speed sets the pace. The gold and blue dot-matrix light is the one visual device, used the same way throughout.

    Findings

    1. Medium, taste: the ↗ "opens another site" arrow is on actions that stay on the page: the Play button, the header's Leaderboard link and "Play practice" (app/page.tsx:276, :226, :298). Keep the arrow only on links that open a new tab.
    2. Low, taste: the label "Pace 01" over "1.00×" mixes a zero-padded stage number with the speed (app/page.tsx:249). Use "Stage N", or just "Pace".
    3. Low, taste: the "Hold & drag to aim" hint is plain text but uses the blue the page uses for links (app/globals.css:82). Use the muted text colour.
    4. Low, taste: on desktop, a pixel "WHEEL KEEPERS" wordmark repeats the name about 60px below the header logo (app/page.tsx:233). Delete it so the headline lines up at the left, as it already does on phones.

Not covered: I could not test Safari. Playwright's WebKit wouldn't install here because system libraries are missing, so all checks ran in Chromium only. I also couldn't test signing in, since I have no wallet. The connect sheet and the "available on the published site" message do appear correctly.

    • mediumtaste: the external-link arrow sits on in-page actions, including the main Play buttonapp/page.tsx:276

Now: the Play button (app/page.tsx:276), the header link 'Leaderboard' to #leaderboard (app/page.tsx:226) and the board's 'Play practice' button (app/page.tsx:298) all end in lucide ArrowUpRight. That is the same ↗ used for the links that really leave the site ('Open live arcade', 'Data source & docs', 'View source').

Change to: remove <ArrowUpRight .../> from those three controls and keep it only on anchors with target="_blank". The Play button keeps its leading Play icon and the label re-centres. 'Leaderboard' becomes plain text, like 'How to play' beside it.

Why: ↗ is the convention for 'opens another site'. Putting it on the main action tells a first visitor that Play leaves the page, and on the same screen it can't be told apart from the real outbound links.

Width 1440, Chromium, dist/ served locally.

On the first screen the Play button reads 'Play ↗' (taste shot 1440.png) and the header shows 'Leaderboard ↗'.

Click Play: the game starts in place and the URL does not change.

Click 'Leaderboard ↗': the page scrolls to #leaderboard on the same page.

At 390 in the full-page shot, 'Play practice ↗' and 'Open live arcade ↗' look identical, but only the second has target=_blank (app/page.tsx:303).

    • lowtaste: the HUD label "Pace 01" pairs a zero-padded stage code with a speed multiplierapp/page.tsx:249

Now: the third HUD column is labelled 'Pace 01' over the value '1.00×'. The label's number is the stage, the value is the speed, and nothing says the two numbers measure different things.

Change to: the label Stage ${hud.stage} with the value kept as the multiplier, or the label 'Pace' alone if the stage is not meant to be shown.

Why: every other HUD label (Score, Seeds, Lives) is one word naming its value. A zero-padded counter inside a label reads as a code, not a fact.

      Width 390, Chromium.

Load the page: the HUD reads 'Pace 01 / 1.00×'.

Click Play and wait about 40 s: it reads 'Pace 03 / 1.45×' (measured from #arcade innerText during the run).

    • lowtaste: plain instruction text uses the link colourapp/globals.css:82

Now: 'Hold & drag to aim' / 'Mouse or ← → to aim' in the controls bar is drawn in --blue-lit, the colour the page uses for links ('Open live arcade', .board-bottom a at app/globals.css:146; 'Data source & docs', .source-link at :105).

Change to: .input-instructions{color:var(--muted)}, or whichever text token 'Device best' uses on the same bar, so only links are blue.

Why: a visitor taps blue text expecting it to go somewhere. This hint is not a control.

Width 390, Chromium, first screen (taste shot 390.png).

Under the game, 'Hold & drag to aim' is the same blue as 'Open live arcade' further down.

Tapping it does nothing, because it is a (app/page.tsx:283).

    • lowtaste: the desktop hero repeats the site name as a pixel wordmark directly under the header logoapp/page.tsx:233

Now: at desktop widths the hero starts with the LED 'WHEEL / KEEPERS' wordmark, about 60px below the header's own logo and 'Wheelkeepers' name, behind a divider, before 'Keep the wheel alive.'.

Change to: delete the .intro-mark element (and its rule at app/globals.css:42). The headline and subline move to the left edge and line up with the logo, as they already do at 390, where the mark is display:none (app/globals.css:189).

Why: the name appears twice in the first 160px, and the mark competes with the headline, which should be the strongest element in the hero.

Width 1440, Chromium (taste shot 1440.png).

The header shows the logo and 'Wheelkeepers' at y≈40.

The pixel 'WHEEL KEEPERS' mark sits at y≈95–155 next to the headline.

At 390 it is hidden, so this is desktop only.
