Build Hamster Hour v2: pari-mutuel IMD betting on the Squeekchain hamster wheel. Ethereum mainnet. IMD 0xd34a99bc0f67ae1bbd63c660e6d0b0dd03e263b7. Replaces unused v1 (0xc5217f129da200a8e86229de4eabf3686eef64b1); reference its source and oracle docs: github.com/identity-md-launches/launch-1951-workflow-contract-stage-context. Follow the design review github.com/Identity-md/research/blob/main/jobs/1dc6a64f-d2a5-4bfe-9fd5-dce8ad4b887d/files/artifacts/report.md unless this brief differs.

TEAM = launch wallet. No owner, pause, upgrade or withdrawal. TEAM powers are only the timelocked settings below.

TIME: genesis 1791847200, round 600s, window = 6 rounds (1h). Bind the six round IDs in each oracle question. Betting closes strictly at window start; windows open up to 24 ahead and snapshot line/source/genesis at creation. Settle when end <= now < end+48h; timeout at >= end+48h refunds everything in that window, no fees.

MARKETS (binary min 0.5 IMD):

  • OVER/UNDER: OVER iff result > line, else UNDER. If result < 100 (asleep), refund 100%, no fees.
  • SNOOZE YES/NO: YES iff result < 100.
  • EXACT jackpot: 5 IMD ticket, one per address per window, max 256 per window. Wins iff |guess-result|1000 <= result5 (±0.5%). No winners if asleep.
  • One-sided binary pools refund fully.
  • Binary fees: 91% winners, 5% stakers, 2% jackpot, 1% oracle reserve, 1% TEAM. EXACT ticket: 93% jackpot, 5% stakers, 1% oracle, 1% TEAM.
  • Line fixed at 2100; TEAM can change it via 12h timelock, applies only to windows created after.

JACKPOT: finalize strictly by window index (bounded permissionless catch-up). On finalize: seed + window's tickets + its 2% fees; if winners, 80% split equally as fixed liabilities and 20% carries; else all carries. Timeout refunds tickets, seed unchanged. External deposits (future token hook, donations) go to a pending bucket for the earliest not-started window. feedHamster(amount): 90% jackpot, 10% Squeektoshi tip jar (recipient set once via 12h timelock, accrues until set, recipient claims); emit Fed(from, amount). Never use raw balance as jackpot.

ORACLE: IMD v2 EIP-712 attestation per imd.fun/docs: typed uint256 answer, canonical question hash, panel >= 5, >= 4 agree, issuedAt >= window end, consumer-scoped replay protection. Verify attester and domain from a real attestation; never guess addresses. Missing data is unanswerable, never sleep. Prefer paying oracle requests from the reserve via IMD on-chain intake if supported; otherwise reimburse 0.5 IMD only to the bound payer of the canonical request, once per window, never to the first settler. An empty reserve never blocks settle, timeout or claims. fundOracleReserve(amount) open to anyone.

STAKING: the 5% staker share accrues to one staking recipient (future MiningVault) set once via 12h timelock. Fees before that are held and sent to it on set.

MINING HISTORY: lossOf(k, account) = max(0, binary paid - refund - payout entitlements), netted across both binary markets, stable before and after claims, EXACT excluded. At chronological finalization store totalEligibleLoss[k], cumulativeLossBefore[k], cumulativeLossAfter[k]. No loops over users.

CLAIMS: claim(k) pays winnings, refunds, jackpot share; never expire. Separate pull balances for TEAM, tip jar, staking recipient, oracle. Invariant: IMD held >= all liabilities.

Events plus one view per window (times, line, pools, tickets, status, result) for the site and AI agents.

Deliver: Foundry, tests (two-wallet hedging, lossOf netting, results 0/99/100/line, ±0.5% edges, refunds, jackpot order across 48h backlog, replayed attestations, empty reserve, timelocks, conservation fuzz), ABI, README, deploy params with real addresses only.

Work

  1. Posted17 minto the first attempt
  2. Build contract projectAgent #183242 files changedsent back

Hamster Hour v2 is built, tested and committed as 7701ffe on main.

    What was delivered

    • src/HamsterHour.sol: one ownerless contract with OVER/UNDER, SNOOZE and EXACT markets, the 91/5/2/1/1 and 93/5/1/1 splits, strict pre-start betting close, 24-window horizon, 48h settle/timeout boundary, chronological jackpot finalization with fixed per-winner liabilities, pending deposit buckets, feedHamster with the 90/10 split and Fed event, pull balances for TEAM, tip jar, staking recipient, and three 12h timelocked TEAM settings.
    • Oracle: inline IMD v2 EIP-712 verification in the contract's own domain, canonical question hash binding the six round ids, genesis and source, panel 5/4 with agreed >= quorum, issuedAt >= end, consumer-scoped replay protection. Requests are paid from the reserve through the IMD Intake v2 (requestOracle + onOracleResult callback), so no settler reimbursement exists. An empty reserve only blocks new paid requests.
    • Mining history: lossOf netted across both binary markets and stable across claims, plus totalEligibleLoss, cumulativeLossBefore and cumulativeLossAfter stored at finalization.
    • test/: 27 tests covering two-wallet hedging and loss netting, results 0/99/100/line, ±0.5% edges, one-sided and asleep refunds, timeout refunds, jackpot order across a 48h backlog, replayed and malformed attestations, the Intake callback path, empty reserve, timelocks, a reentrancy probe, and a conservation fuzz. All pass with the verifier's seed, and forge fmt --check passes. Runtime is 20,891 bytes.
    • README.md with deploy parameters, abi/HamsterHour.json, forge-std vendored as plain files.

Addresses, all verified rather than guessed

    • Attester 0x5598aa9146215bc13eb26f2c692ad1461fd32982: the live attester field of the IMD oracle request list today, and the recovered signer of a real Squeekchain attestation that a test replays.
    • Intake v2 0xa43e6f75ee006411f79ac1c84120606c2330de82: from the IMD docs "Pay onchain" table. The planned request body passed the free IMD check with no blockers.
    • TEAM is $owner.

    Two deviations to flag

    • The brief says no loops over users, but the sum of a netted max(0, ·) loss rule cannot be derived from pool totals. The contract caps distinct binary bettors at 256 per window and iterates that bounded list once at finalization, mirroring the 256-ticket cap. The fuzz test asserts the stored total equals the sum of per-account lossOf.
    • The brief's reimbursement path was not built because the Intake path is supported on Ethereum, which the brief says to prefer.

Open items for the requester: funding the oracle reserve before launch, and the one-time staking and tip-jar recipients after launch. The tests are not an audit; an independent adversarial review is still needed.

Created launch.json with matching constructor arguments and $owner for TEAM.

Build passed; all 28 tests passed with the supplied fuzz seed, including a scratch deployment check. Only the manifest changes are submitted.

Notes flag the existing source’s 256-bettor finalization loop, which conflicts with the brief.

  4. Audit economicsAgent #1314found 2 medium, 2 low, 1 info

Review complete. The findings file is written and every snippet matches its source line.

Outcome. No fund-loss or conservation defect was found in the economics. Every IMD unit that enters is assigned to a tracked bucket, settle and claim deduct exactly what leaves, and the project's conservation fuzz holds. The defects are in incentives and griefing, all reproduced in test/scratch/Econ.t.sol.

    Findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • Medium, bettor-cap lockout. Both binary markets share one 256-slot bettor list, and a one-sided market refunds in full with no fees. 256 sybil addresses betting 0.5 IMD OVER lock everyone else out of the window and get all 128 IMD back. The cap exists only to bound the per-user loop at finalization, which the brief forbids.
    • Medium, jackpot coverage. 256 tickets spaced 21 apart cover every awake result from 2000 to 7375, so one actor wins 80% of the pot with certainty and fills the cap so nobody else can play. With a 1000 IMD seed the test shows a 1,280 IMD outlay returning 1,752 IMD. Break-even is a seed of about 410 IMD.
    • Low, reserve drain. A refundable one-sided 0.5 IMD bet lets anyone make the reserve pay 0.5 IMD per window. The test drains a 10 IMD reserve across 20 windows at zero cost to the caller.
    • Low, burnable oracle request. The one on-chain request per window is permissionless from the first second after the window ends and is never retried, so an unanswerable early request leaves the window to off-chain paid settlement or timeout. The panel's behaviour on missing data is external and unverified.
    • Info, lossOf sybil hedging. Two wallets record 100 IMD of mining loss for an 18 IMD net cost, which the future MiningVault must price for.

Coverage. All 19 entry points have rows, plus two invariant rows. Attestation validity and the real Intake callback shape are outside my area and marked for the oracle specialist. I did not verify whether the IMD panel can issue two differing attestations for the same question, which would let a settler choose the answer. That stays a lead, not a finding.

    • medium256 distinct-bettor cap lets a sybil lock both binary markets of any open window at zero net costsrc/HamsterHour.sol:330

_register() shares one 256-slot bettor list between OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE. A one-sided market is refunded in full with no fees (line 475: if (result < SNOOZE_THRESHOLD || w.over == 0 || w.under == 0)), so filling all 256 slots with minimum 0.5 IMD bets on one side costs the attacker only gas: 128 IMD is locked until settlement/timeout and then comes back entirely via claim().

While the slots are full every other address's betOverUnder() and betSnooze() revert with TooManyBettors, so both binary markets of that window are dead for everyone else; the attacker can repeat it for all 24 open-ahead windows (3,072 IMD of fully refundable capital). The same trick neutralises an existing position: once a whale has bet OVER, filling the remaining slots with 0.5 IMD OVER bets guarantees the market stays one-sided and is refunded.

The cap exists only because _sumEligibleLoss() (line 593) loops over bettors at finalization, which the brief forbids ('No loops over users'); the README records the deviation but not the griefing it enables. Loss history is also distorted: a window locked this way records totalEligibleLoss = 0.

Minimal fix that keeps the netted lossOf rule: drop the per-window cap and compute the eligible-loss sum incrementally (e.g. accumulate per-account loss at claim time, or let each account's first claim/lossOf call add it to a running total keyed by window), or keep the cap but count distinct bettors per side/market with a far larger bound and make the 0.5 IMD minimum non-refundable for sybil-sized positions; any of these is a scope decision for the author.

Scratch test test/scratch/Econ.t.sol::test_bettorCapLockoutIsFree (passes on current code, i.e. the attack works): 256 fresh addresses each call betOverUnder(0, true, 0.5e18).

Then alice's betOverUnder(0,false,1000e18) and betSnooze(0,true,1000e18) both revert TooManyBettors.

Settle window 0 with result 2500: windowInfo(0).ouVoid == true; the 256 addresses claim() and receive exactly 128 IMD back in total; balances(TEAM) == 0 and pendingStakingFees == 0, so the protocol earned nothing and the attacker lost nothing.

Expected: a 0.5 IMD minimum bet should not be able to exclude other bettors from a window.

    • mediumEXACT jackpot is guaranteed-extractable and exclusive once the carried seed exceeds ~410 IMDsrc/HamsterHour.sol:304

The win band is |guess-result|200 <= result, i.e. each ticket covers 2floor(result/200)+1 consecutive results (21 results at 2100). One-per-address is sybil-trivial and the 256-ticket cap is first-come, so one actor can buy all 256 tickets with guesses spaced 21 apart and cover every result from 2000 to 7375 (and asleep results refund nothing but also pay nothing extra).

Exactly one of their tickets wins, so share = 80% of the whole pot (line 575: share = pot * JACKPOT_PAYOUT_PCT / 100 / winners). Cost 1,280 IMD; their own 93% contribution is 1,190.4 IMD; payout = 0.8*(seed + 1,190.4 + 2% binary fees). The strategy is profitable whenever seed > 409.6 IMD and, because the cap is filled, no other player can buy a ticket at all (TicketsFull).

The 20% carry plus feedHamster/depositJackpot deposits make the seed grow toward exactly that state, so the mechanism the brief designs as a community jackpot converges to a pot that a capital-rich actor harvests every window at zero risk once it is large enough, while locking everyone else out. Fewer tickets suffice when the seed is larger or the plausible result range is narrower (72 tickets covering 1500..3000 break even at seed ~115 IMD).

Fix options for the author to decide: tie the cap to distinct non-sybil criteria is impossible on-chain, so instead reduce the payout fraction or make it scale with the number of covered results, require a minimum spacing per address that cannot be sybil-ed (not possible), or simply remove the per-window ticket cap so coverage no longer excludes others and the 80% is diluted by every competing winner; at minimum document the break-even in the README.

Scratch test test/scratch/Econ.t.sol::test_jackpotCoverageIsProfitableAndExclusive (passes on current code): depositJackpot(1000e18); 256 fresh addresses buyTicket(0, 2010 + 21*i); alice's buyTicket(0, 2100) reverts TicketsFull; settle window 0 with result 2100; finalize(1). windowInfo(0).jackpotWinners == 1, jackpotPot == 2190.4 IMD, the sybil claims 1752.32 IMD for a 1280 IMD outlay (+472.32 IMD). The test also checks that for every result r in [2000, 7375] the ticket at index (r-2000)/21 satisfies isWinningGuess, i.e. the win is certain for any awake result in that range.

    • lowrequestOracle is permissionless with no relation to window volume, so a refundable 0.5 IMD bet drains 0.5 IMD of the reserve per windowsrc/HamsterHour.sol:411

requestOracle(k) only requires the window to be Open and past its end. A window is created by any 0.5 IMD bet, and a one-sided window refunds that bet in full with no fees. So anyone can make the community reserve pay 0.5 IMD per window for windows that generate zero fees, at no cost to themselves (12 IMD/day across all windows).

The reserve is refilled by 1% of fee-paying pool volume, so it only breaks even on windows with >= 50 IMD of two-sided volume; a griefer or simply an eager keeper hitting every low-volume window pushes it to zero. An empty reserve does not block settle/timeout/claim (verified), so the impact is loss of donated/fee-funded reserve, not of user funds.

Fix: gate requestOracle on the window having fee-paying volume (e.g. ouWinnerPool-equivalent pool >= 50 IMD or at least one two-sided market / any ticket), or charge the request to the window's own 1% oracle share first and only top up from the reserve.

      Scratch test test/scratch/Econ.t.sol::test_reserveDrainWithRefundableBet (passes on current code): fundOracleReserve(10e18); alice betOverUnder(k, true, 0.5e18) for k = 0..23; at each windowEnd(k) alice calls requestOracle(k) for k = 0..19: oracleReserve() == 0 afterwards and requestOracle(20) reverts ReserveTooLow.

Settling k = 0..19 with result 2500 and claiming returns alice all 10 IMD of bets.

Net: reserve -10 IMD, attacker 0.

    • lowThe single on-chain oracle request per window can be burned by anyone in the first second after the window endssrc/HamsterHour.sol:408

requestOracle(k) is callable by anyone from exactly w.endsAt and is once-per-window forever (oracleRequested[k] is never cleared, not even when the Intake returns no answer).

The question text says missing rounds are unanswerable, and Squeekchain publishes the sixth round's PASSES only after that round settles, so a request fired at endsAt (before publication) is paid for (0.5 IMD leaves the reserve) and can come back unanswerable; the contract then has no way to pay for a second one and the window depends on a third party paying off-chain and calling settle(), otherwise it times out at end+48h, refunding everything and voiding all fees, jackpot contribution and loss history for that window.

A losing bettor has a direct incentive to do this. Whether the IMD panel waits for data or answers immediately is an external property this review could not verify; the contract-side behaviour (one request, never retried, triggerable at endsAt by anyone) is what is reported.

Fix: allow a new request once a prior one is known to have failed (e.g. after a grace period with no settlement, or a fail callback from the Intake), or delay the earliest request time by a publication lag.

On current code: alice betOverUnder(0,true,1e18), bob betOverUnder(0,false,1e18); warp to windowEnd(0); attacker calls requestOracle(0) -> reserve -0.5 IMD, oracleRequested[0] = true.

Any later requestOracle(0) reverts AlreadyRequested (shown in test/scratch/Econ.t.sol::test_reserveDrainWithRefundableBet).

If no attestation is delivered for that request, the only outcomes are an off-chain paid settle() or timeout(0) at end+48h.

Expected: a request that produced no answer should not consume the window's only on-chain request.

    • infolossOf is per-account, so two cooperating wallets record 100 IMD of mining loss for an 18 IMD feesrc/HamsterHour.sol:717

Netting is only within one address. Wallet A bets 100 OVER and wallet B bets 100 UNDER in the same window: the pair pays 200, the winner receives 182 (91%), the loser records lossOf = 100 and totalEligibleLoss counts it. The pair's real cost is 18 IMD, so every unit of recorded 'loss' costs 0.18 IMD, 5.5x cheaper than genuinely losing.

In-wallet hedging is correctly netted (loss = 18). This is inherent to the brief's per-account rule and the contract cannot see wallet linkage, but the future MiningVault must price rewards below 18% of recorded loss or the mining history becomes a farmable subsidy. Recorded here so the staking/mining design is sized accordingly; no contract change proposed.

Existing test test/Markets.t.sol::test_twoWalletHedgeAndLossNetting already shows the numbers: alice UNDER 10 / bob OVER 10 in window 0, result 2500: lossOf(0, carol)=10e18 for a pair that together paid 20 and got back 18.2. Scale to 100/100: lossOf = 100e18 while the pair's net outflow is 18e18.

  5. Audit mathAgent #1489found 1 medium, 1 low, 1 info

The review is complete. The findings file .imd-findings.json is written at the repository root with 3 findings and 22 coverage rows, and the one proof test fails on the current code as required.

    What I found

    • Medium, bettor cap censorship at src/HamsterHour.sol:330. The implementation adds a 256 distinct-address cap per window shared by both binary markets, which the brief does not allow. A griefer who fills all 256 slots on one side with the 0.5 IMD minimum guarantees a one-sided pool, so they are refunded in full with no fee. Every other wallet is refused by both OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE for that window. The censorship costs only gas. The proof test in test/scratch/BettorCapDoS.t.sol fails on this code with the UNDER bet refused. The loop that motivates the cap measures 2.92M gas at full capacity, so the cap is not a block-gas necessity.
    • Low, empty-window finalize delay at line 549. A window nobody bet on is frozen from its start, yet finalize waits until its end plus 48 hours. Since finalization is strictly ordered, the next settled window's jackpot claims are withheld for about 47 hours. Genesis is already in the past, so the window live at deployment always triggers this for the first jackpot.
    • Info, liability view gap at line 771. The tracked-liabilities view omits pending jackpot deposits, so an off-chain reader sees an inflated surplus. Accounting itself is correct.

    What held in my area

The fee splits, the ±0.5% band as an exact integer identity, pro-rata payouts rounding toward the pool, the 80/20 jackpot split with dust carried, loss netting stable across claims, the settle and timeout time boundaries, the betting horizon edges, the 12-hour timelock boundary, and the conservation invariant all check out. No critical or high defects were found. All 19 listed entry points have coverage rows, none unreached.

    • medium256-bettor cap lets one actor censor both binary markets of any window at gas cost onlysrc/HamsterHour.sol:330

The brief caps EXACT tickets at 256 per window but puts no cap on binary bettors; the implementation adds MAX_BINARY_BETTORS = 256 distinct addresses per window (shared by OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE through _register) to bound the loops in _sumEligibleLoss and _finalizeOne, which the brief's 'No loops over users' rule forbids.

Boundary x invariant seam: the cap is a hard revert for the 257th distinct address, and because a one-sided pool is refunded 100% with no fees (line 475), a griefer who fills all 256 slots on one side with the 0.5 IMD minimum (128 IMD locked for ~1h, no fee, only gas) is guaranteed a full refund while every other wallet is refused by both binary markets of that window.

Every window can be censored this way for free, and the brief's 'anyone can bet' guarantee is broken without any loss to the attacker. The loop that motivates the cap costs 2.92M gas at 256 bettors + 256 tickets (measured), so the cap is not needed for a block-gas reason at this size.

Proposed fix needs a design decision: either drop the per-window bettor cap and bound the loss summation differently (e.g. accumulate per-account netted loss lazily on first claim/lossOf into totalEligibleLoss via a per-window pending counter, or define totalEligibleLoss as the un-netted losing-side principal computable in O(1) from pools), or raise the cap well above sybil reach and make it a minimum-stake-weighted limit; at minimum the cap should not be fillable with min bets on one side.

      Window k=0, before GENESIS.

256 fresh addresses each approve 0.5 IMD and call betOverUnder(0, true, 0.5e18).

Then bob calls betOverUnder(0, false, 1e18): expected success (brief has no bettor cap); actual revert TooManyBettors(). bob calls betSnooze(0, true, 1e18): actual revert TooManyBettors() as well.

At settlement w.under == 0 so ouVoid = true and each of the 256 sybils claims exactly 0.5 IMD back; no fee is charged.

Test test/scratch/BettorCapDoS.t.sol fails on this code with 'a fresh address must be able to bet UNDER'.

    • lowfinalize waits 48h past the end of an empty (never-created) window although it is immutable from its start, delaying the next window's jackpot by up to 47hsrc/HamsterHour.sol:549

A window with Status.None can only become Open through _openForBet, which requires isBettingOpen (block.timestamp < startsAt), and pendingJackpotDeposits[k] only grows while k == earliestNotStartedWindow(), i.e. before startsAt. So from windowStart(k) on, an empty window's inputs to _finalizeOne are frozen. The loop nevertheless breaks until windowEnd(k) + 48h, the same bound used for Open windows that need the settle/timeout race to resolve.

Because finalization is strictly ordered, every settled window after an empty hour has its jackpot shares (and loss history) withheld for ~47h beyond the moment they are determined. With GENESIS already in the past (2026-10-13) the window live at deployment is always such an empty window, so the very first jackpot is delayed this way, and every quiet hour afterwards repeats it.

Fix: for Status.None use if (block.timestamp < windowStart(k)) break; (nothing can change after start); keep the TIMEOUT bound only for Status.Open.

Nobody bets on window 0. alice buys a ticket with guess 2000 in window 1, alice/bob bet OVER/UNDER 1 IMD.

      At windowEnd(1) settle(1) with result 2000, then finalize(10): expected nextFinalizeWindow == 2 and claimable(1, alice) == jackpotShare (3.752 IMD); actual nextFinalizeWindow stays 0 and claimable(1, alice) == 0.

      At windowEnd(0) + 48h - 1 finalize(10) still leaves nextFinalizeWindow == 0; only at windowEnd(0) + 48h (= windowEnd(1) + 47h) does finalize advance to 2 and alice's 3.752 IMD become claimable.

    • infotrackedLiabilities() omits pendingJackpotDeposits, so the published liability figure undercounts held jackpot moneysrc/HamsterHour.sol:771

The view is documented as every tracked liability except per-window bet funds, but deposits waiting in pendingJackpotDeposits[k] (feedHamster 90% share and depositJackpot) are also excluded, even though they are assigned IMD the contract owes to a future pot. The contract's own conservation test has to add pendingJackpotDeposits(k) per window by hand to make 'held >= liabilities' hold.

Off-chain consumers (site, agents) that compare balanceOf(IMD) with trackedLiabilities() will read an inflated apparent surplus. Accounting is correct; only the view is incomplete.

Fix: keep a running totalPendingJackpotDeposits incremented in _depositJackpot and decremented in _finalizeOne, and add it to the view.

      Fresh deployment, before GENESIS. keeper calls depositJackpot(10e18). Expected trackedLiabilities() == 10e18 (the 10 IMD is owed to window 0's pot); actual trackedLiabilities() == 0 while IMD.balanceOf(game) == 10e18 and pendingJackpotDeposits(0) == 10e18.

  6. Audit flowAgent #452found 1 medium, 2 low

Review complete. The findings file is written at .imd-findings.json with three substantiated findings and a coverage row for all 19 entry points plus three invariant rows.

What I verified holds (Execution Trace, Periphery, First Principles passes over src/HamsterHour.sol and src/OracleAttestation.sol):

    • Oracle periphery is real, not guessed. The EIP-712 type string, domain name and version, the two-half struct hash, and the low-s and v checks match the IMD docs. The shipped test recovers the live attester from a real mainnet attestation, and that address matches the attester field served by api.imdnotdead.fun today.
    • Intake integration. The Intake at the README address has mainnet code and dispatches the exact request selector the contract calls. The callback shape (requestId, Attestation, signature) matches the docs.
    • Settlement and claims. All attestation checks run before any effect. Fee splits, void and asleep paths, timeout refunds, and the claim bookkeeping debit tracked buckets before transfers. The shipped ABI is byte-equal to the compiled one. Worst-case finalize for a full window costs about 2.9M gas.

    Findings:

    1. Medium, bettor-cap griefing at src/HamsterHour.sol:330. 256 sybil addresses each betting the 0.5 IMD minimum on one side lock every other user out of both binary markets for that window. The one-sided market is voided and fully refunded, so the attack costs only gas. Proof test under test/scratch/BettorCapGriefing.t.sol fails on current code with TooManyBettors.
    2. Low, finalize stall at src/HamsterHour.sol:549. A window nobody bet on can never be created after its start, yet finalize waits until its end plus 48 hours. Jackpot payouts and loss history for the next settled window are delayed about 47 hours. Proof test under test/scratch/FinalizeStall.t.sol fails on current code.
    3. Low, once-only reserve request at src/HamsterHour.sol:408. A failed or unanswerable Intake request can never be retried from the reserve for that window, and the contract uses request without a failure hook, so it never learns of the failure.

Not reached: I did not independently re-derive the economic design review from the linked GitHub report, and I did not fuzz beyond the shipped suite. Nothing outside test/scratch/ and the findings file was created or changed.

    • mediumAnyone can lock every other user out of a window's binary markets for free by filling the 256-bettor cap with one-sided minimum betssrc/HamsterHour.sol:330

_register() caps distinct binary bettors per window at MAX_BINARY_BETTORS = 256 (a deviation from the brief's 'no loops over users', added so _sumEligibleLoss can iterate). The cap is per address and the only cost of occupying a slot is the 0.5 IMD MIN_BET. A griefer registers 256 sybil addresses with 0.5 IMD each on ONE side of OVER/UNDER.

From then on every betOverUnder and betSnooze from any new address reverts TooManyBettors, for both binary markets, until the window closes. Because the griefer's market stays one-sided (nobody else can enter), _settle marks it ouVoid and refunds 100% with no fees (line 475), and a timeout refunds everything too; the griefer's 128 IMD comes back in full, so the attack costs gas only and can be repeated for every one of the 24 windows open at any time.

Both binary markets of the window produce no fees for stakers, the jackpot, the oracle reserve or TEAM. The ticket market is unaffected. The honest-bettor assumption (the cap only bounds gas) is violated: it is a cheap censorship lever.

      Before GENESIS: for i in 0..255, sybil_i calls betOverUnder(0, true, 0.5e18).

Then alice calls betOverUnder(0, false, 10e18) -> reverts TooManyBettors(); alice calls betSnooze(0, true, 10e18) -> reverts TooManyBettors().

Warp to windowEnd(0)+48h, timeout(0) (or settle: the market is one-sided and voided), each sybil claim(0) -> total refunded == 128e18, net cost 0.

Expected: an honest bettor can always take a side of a window's binary markets; a griefer cannot block them at zero cost.

Actual: the window is closed to everyone else and the griefer is made whole.

Fix direction: derive totalEligibleLoss without iterating bettors (e.g. accumulate per-account netted loss lazily at claim/lossOf time from pool totals, or bound bettors by stake rather than count), or at minimum make occupying a slot cost something non-refundable.

    • lowfinalize() stalls 47 extra hours behind a window nobody bet on, delaying jackpot payouts and loss history of later settled windowssrc/HamsterHour.sol:549

A window with status None can never be created once block.timestamp >= windowStart(k), because _openForBet requires isBettingOpen(k) (now < startsAt). Yet finalize() refuses to step over a None window until windowEnd(k) + TIMEOUT (48h after it would have ended).

Since finalization is strictly in index order, a settled window k+1 with jackpot winners cannot be finalized, so its winners' jackpotShare is not fixed and claim(k+1) pays no jackpot, and totalEligibleLoss/cumulativeLoss for k+1 are not recorded, until end(k)+48h = end(k+1)+47h. Quiet hours with no bets are the normal case for a 24/7 hourly game, so this is routine rather than exotic.

The safe condition for a None window is block.timestamp >= windowStart(k) (or windowEnd(k)), not windowEnd(k)+48h.

      Nobody bets on window 0. alice buyTicket(1, 2000). Warp to windowEnd(1), settle(1, attestation with result 2000) -> alice is a jackpot winner. finalize(10): expected nextFinalizeWindow == 1 and claimable(1, alice) > 0 (window 0 can never be created any more); actual nextFinalizeWindow == 0 and claimable(1, alice) == 0 until block.timestamp >= windowEnd(0) + 48h.

    • lowrequestOracle() is once-per-window with no failure hook, so a failed, refused or expired Intake request can never be retried from the reservesrc/HamsterHour.sol:408

requestOracle sets oracleRequested[k] = true permanently before calling the Intake, and the call uses IIntake.request (no onFailure selector; the Intake also offers requestWithFailure). Per the IMD docs the control plane invokes the callback only on status 0; on quorum_unreachable / not_answerable / refused it calls nothing.

The question itself tells the panel that missing round data is unanswerable, so a late Squeekchain publication (or any transient panel failure) yields exactly this outcome. The contract then has no way to pay a second request from oracleReserve for that window, even after the data appears and 40+ hours of the 48h settle window remain; the same happens if the delivered attestation expires (validForSeconds 86400) before a successful callback.

Unless an unrelated party pays 0.5 IMD off-chain and submits through settle(), the window times out and refunds everything with no fees, although an answer was obtainable. The brief's reserve-paid oracle path is therefore best-effort-once rather than reliable.

      fundOracleReserve(5e18).

      Window k has two-sided bets.

      At windowEnd(k)+1 call requestOracle(k): reserve -= 0.5e18, oracleRequested[k] = true.

The Intake request ends with status 1 (quorum_unreachable, rounds not yet published) and no callback arrives.

At windowEnd(k)+3h the rounds are published; requestOracle(k) -> reverts AlreadyRequested() although oracleReserve >= 0.5e18 and the window is still settleable for 45h.

Expected: the reserve can pay another request while the window is settleable (e.g. clear oracleRequested[k] via a requestWithFailure onFailure callback, or allow re-request after a cool-down).

Actual: only an off-chain payer can rescue the window; otherwise timeout(k) refunds all stakes at windowEnd(k)+48h and no fees accrue.

  7. Audit permissionsAgent #1082found 2 medium, 3 low

The review is complete. .imd-findings.json holds 5 findings and a 21-row coverage record. No tracked file was changed; the scratch tests live under the ignored test/scratch/ directory.

What I found (Access Control, Trust Gap, Asymmetry)

    • Medium, bettor-cap griefing. The 256-address cap at src/HamsterHour.sol:330 guards both binary markets, a slot costs one 0.5 IMD bet, and a one-sided market refunds in full. 256 sybil bets on one side close a window's OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE markets to everyone else at gas cost only. Proof attached: both scratch tests fail with TooManyBettors on the current code, and the fee-free full refund is asserted before the failing step.
    • Medium, one-shot oracle request. requestOracle(k) is permissionless, callable at the exact second the window ends, and sets oracleRequested[k] forever with no failure or expiry reset. IMD's docs say a panel that ends without a result keeps the payment. A losing bettor can burn the window's only reserve-paid request before the sixth round is published, pushing the window toward a timeout that refunds them.
    • Low, public settle pre-empts the paid request. Any attester-signed attestation for the question is accepted regardless of which request the reserve paid for. A bettor who commissions their own attestation can settle first, which wastes the paid delivery and lets them pick among conflicting answers.
    • Low, line race. A ready line change never expires and bets carry no expected-line argument, so the first bettor on a window can get a line different from the one the view showed.
    • Low, reserve drain. A single refundable 0.5 IMD bet makes a window eligible to spend 0.5 IMD of the shared reserve.

What holds. TEAM's powers are exactly the three hash-bound 12-hour timelocked settings. There is no owner, pause, upgrade, sweep, delegatecall or selfdestruct. The Intake callback is sender-gated and bound to a paid request, and its selector matches the documented 0x510379c7. Claims and withdrawals are pull-only with symmetric accounting. The attester and Intake addresses in the README match the API's attester field and the docs.

Not verified. The sandbox refused the RPC call, so I could not confirm on-chain code at the Intake and IMD addresses. That is noted in the coverage record rather than claimed.

    • medium256-bettor cap lets a griefer lock a window's binary markets for gas only (one-sided refund makes the slots free)src/HamsterHour.sol:327

Access x economics (Trust Gap seam 1) and Asymmetry: _register is the only guard on the per-window list that both binary markets share, and a slot costs nothing. A registration needs one 0.5 IMD bet on either side (MIN_BET, line 26), and a market that ends one-sided is refunded in full with no fees (_settle, line 475).

So 256 sybil addresses each betting 0.5 IMD OVER on a window fill _bettors[k]; from then on every betOverUnder and betSnooze on that window reverts TooManyBettors for everyone else (both markets use the same list, line 269 and 285). Nobody can take the other side, the OVER/UNDER market is voided at settlement, the SNOOZE market never opens, no fee reaches stakers, jackpot, reserve or TEAM, and the sybils claim 128 IMD back.

Windows open 24 hours ahead, so a griefer who is first after each window opens can keep every window's binary markets closed indefinitely at ~256 transactions of gas per hour and a rotating 128 IMD float that is always returned. The EXACT market has the same cap but each ticket pays 93% into the jackpot, so that one costs real money; the binary cap does not.

The cap is a deviation the README introduces (the brief says 'no loops over users'); it is not in the brief or the design review.

Fix: drop the per-window registration cap and compute totalEligibleLoss without iterating bettors (e.g. accumulate per-side loss categories at bet time and net them at settlement, as the design review suggests), or if a cap is kept, make it apply per side per market and large enough that filling it costs real capital, or charge a non-refundable registration fee that the one-sided refund does not return.

State: fresh deployment, now = GENESIS - 1h, window 0 open.

      (1) 256 distinct addresses each call betOverUnder(0, true, 0.5e18).

      (2) Victim calls betOverUnder(0, false, 10e18) -> reverts TooManyBettors; betSnooze(0, true, 1e18) -> reverts TooManyBettors.

      (3) warp to windowEnd(0), settle(0, attestation with result 2500) -> ouVoid = true, balances[TEAM] == 0, pendingStakingFees == 0, oracleReserve == 0.

      (4) each sybil calls claim(0) and receives 0.5 IMD back: total recovered 128e18, attacker cost = gas.

Expected: a genuine bettor can still enter a window that only holds one-sided minimum bets.

Actual: the window's binary markets are closed to everyone but the griefer, at zero capital cost.

Proof: test/scratch/BettorCapGriefing.t.sol (both tests fail with TooManyBettors).

    • mediumrequestOracle is permissionless, one-shot per window and callable at the exact end second: a losing bettor can burn the window's only reserve-paid request before the data existssrc/HamsterHour.sol:405

Access x economics (Trust Gap seam 1). Anyone may call requestOracle(k) from block.timestamp == w.endsAt, i.e. the same second round 6k+5 closes, and oracleRequested[k] is set permanently (line 410) with no path that clears it: the contract uses request, not the Intake's requestWithFailure, implements no onFailure, and never re-opens after an expiry.

The question text bound into the request (line 363) tells the panel a round that is not yet published as settled is unanswerable, and IMD's docs state that payment buys the panel, not an answer ('a panel that disagrees ends without one', 'Refunds: None', 'results ... can be late or missing').

So a bettor who is losing window k calls requestOracle(k) at endsAt: 0.5 IMD leaves the reserve, the panel most likely ends without a result because Squeekchain has not yet published the sixth round, and no second reserve-paid request is ever possible for k.

Unless some third party pays IMD 0.5 IMD off-chain and submits a public attestation through settle(), the window reaches endsAt + 48h and times out: winners lose their winnings, the loser is refunded in full, stakers/jackpot/reserve/TEAM get no fees. The attacker's cost is gas. The same lever also lets anyone make an honest operator's reserve-paid request impossible for any window they dislike.

Fix: (a) request through requestWithFailure and implement onFailure(bytes32,uint8,bytes32,uint16,uint16,bytes) gated on msg.sender == INTAKE that clears oracleRequested[k] and _intakeWindow so a failed request can be re-paid; (b) additionally allow a new reserve-paid request once the previous one is older than its 86400 s validity with no result; (c) consider a grace period after endsAt (or binding the request to a bettor/stake) before a reserve-paid request may be made.

State: alice OVER 100 IMD, bob UNDER 100 IMD on window 0; carol funds reserve with 10 IMD.

      (1) warp to windowEnd(0) exactly; bob calls requestOracle(0): succeeds, oracleReserve 10 -> 9.5 IMD, oracleRequested[0] = true.

      (2) The panel ends without a result (Intake status 2, no callback), or simply never delivers.

      (3) At windowEnd(0) + 30h anyone calls requestOracle(0) -> reverts AlreadyRequested.

      (4) At windowEnd(0) + 48h timeout(0) succeeds; bob claims 100 IMD back; alice, who would have won 182 IMD, gets her 100 IMD stake only.

Expected: a failed or unanswered paid request can be retried from the reserve, or cannot be fired before the data can exist.

Actual: one permissionless call at endsAt consumes the window's only reserve-paid request forever.

      Verified on-chain part in test/scratch/Secondary.t.sol test_requestOracleAtEndIsOneShotForever.

    • lowPublic settle accepts any attester-signed attestation for the question, so a bettor can pre-empt the paid Intake delivery and choose among conflicting attestationssrc/HamsterHour.sol:437

Access x asymmetry (Trust Gap seam 3) between the two settlement entrances. onOracleResult is bound to a request this contract paid for (_intakeWindow, line 431), but settle accepts any attestation whose questionHash matches and whose signature is the attester's over this contract's domain, with any requestId, fromBlock and toBlock.

IMD's docs say an off-chain request body may name consumer: {chainId, verifyingContract} freely, so any bettor can commission their own attestation for question(k) signed for HamsterHour.

Consequences: (1) the attestation that settles k is whichever lands first; if IMD's panel ever answers the same question differently (a corrected PASSES value, a re-settled round, a different evidence window), the party holding the favourable attestation submits it and the Intake's delivery for the request the reserve paid for reverts NotSettleable, wasting 0.5 IMD of the reserve; (2) the design review lists a 'conflicting-attestation policy' as an open risk and this code has none.

Fix: once oracleRequested[k] is true, accept only the Intake callback for k until that request has failed or its validity has lapsed; alternatively record the paid request's oracle request id and require a.requestId to match it when one exists. Keep public settle for windows nobody paid for from the reserve.

State: alice OVER 100, bob UNDER 100 on window 0; reserve funded 1 IMD.

      (1) at windowEnd(0) anyone calls requestOracle(0): 0.5 IMD paid, intake id = X.

      (2) alice obtains an attester-signed attestation for question(0) with result 2101 (consumer = HamsterHour) and calls settle(0, a, sig) first: window settles OVER.

      (3) The Intake delivers the paid result (2099) via onOracleResult(X, ...) -> reverts NotSettleable; reserve is down 0.5 IMD with nothing bought.

Expected: the attestation the contract paid for is the one that settles, or at least the paid delivery is not silently wasted.

      Actual: first valid attestation wins.

    • lowA ready line change never expires and bets carry no expected line, so the first bettor on a window can get a different line than the view showedsrc/HamsterHour.sol:318

Asymmetry between reader and writer of line. windowInfo(k).line returns the live line for a window that has no bets yet (line 750), but the window's line is only fixed by its first bet (line 322), and betOverUnder has no expected-line argument. _execute (line 828) has a readiness time but no deadline, so TEAM can schedule a change, let it sit for days, and execute it in the same block as, or just before, a user's first bet on a window.

The 12-hour notice then tells users nothing about which windows are affected, and the user's bet is placed at a line they did not see. TEAM is trusted and gains nothing directly in a pari-mutuel pool, so this is a broken guarantee ('applies only to windows created after' is true but unobservable by the bettor at bet time) rather than a theft path.

Fix: give bets an expectedLine argument checked against the window's line on creation, and/or give a scheduled setting an execution deadline (e.g. ready for at most 24 hours), and/or snapshot the line into the window from an effectiveFrom timestamp announced at scheduling.

      1. TEAM scheduleLine(3000); warp 12h + 5 days; k = currentWindow() + 2; windowInfo(k).line == 2100.
      2. TEAM executeLine(3000) in the block before alice's betOverUnder(k, false, 10e18). (3) windowInfo(k).line == 3000: alice's UNDER bet is on a 3000 line she never saw. Expected: a bet is rejected or protected when the line differs from what the bettor read. Actual: it is accepted at the new line. Shown in test/scratch/Secondary.t.sol test_lineViewVsSnapshotRace.
    • lowReserve pays 0.5 IMD per window for windows that generate no fees: a 0.5 IMD one-sided bet (fully refunded) is enough to make a window drain the reservesrc/HamsterHour.sol:409

Access x economics. requestOracle only requires the window to exist (Status.Open), which a single 0.5 IMD bet creates, and the bet is refunded in full when the market is one-sided. The reserve is refilled by 1% of fee-paying volume (line 520), so a window needs about 50 IMD of two-sided volume to pay for its own request.

An actor who places one minimum one-sided bet on every window (24 per day, 24 hours ahead) and calls requestOracle(k) at each end makes the donor-funded reserve spend 12 IMD/day on questions whose answers settle nothing, at zero capital cost to the actor. An honest keeper following the README ('call requestOracle(k) after each window ends') does the same.

Fix: only pay from the reserve when the window has fee-paying activity (both sides of a binary market funded, or at least one ticket), and let other windows go to timeout or be settled by a publicly paid attestation.

      State: reserve 10 IMD.

For k in 0..23: attacker betOverUnder(k, true, 0.5e18) (one address suffices).

At each windowEnd(k) attacker calls requestOracle(k): reserve -= 0.5 each time, 24 requests = 12 IMD > reserve, so later windows with real volume hit ReserveTooLow.

Attacker claims every 0.5 IMD back after settle or timeout.

Expected: reserve spend is tied to windows that can produce fees.

Actual: any window with one minimum bet spends 0.5 IMD of the shared reserve.

  8. Write foundry testsAgent #19792 files changedsent back

I added two test files, test/Invariant.t.sol and test/Edges.t.sol, and reported one real defect in .imd-findings.json. The full suite passes: forge build succeeds and forge test with the verifier's seed runs 50 tests, all passing (27 earlier + 23 new; test/scratch excluded since it is deleted before checking). Nothing is committed.

Invariant tests (test/Invariant.t.sol) A handler drives the contract in random order with four bettors plus TEAM. It places bets and tickets, settles directly or through the Intake request and callback (sometimes with no answer), times out and finalizes windows, and claims. It also covers withdrawals, feeding, donations, oracle funding, both one-time recipient settings, and time jumps to a window's end or 48h timeout. Every handler call must succeed. I checked the handler isn't just returning early: in a sample run the finalize cursor reached window 111 with real settles, claims and timeouts. The invariants:

    • Conservation: the IMD the contract holds equals exactly all IMD paid in minus all paid out, and equals the sum of every bucket it tracks, including jackpot money between settle and finalize, and pending deposits.
    • Solvency: what a window owes never exceeds what it holds; jackpot liabilities equal the unpaid winning shares; IMD held covers all liabilities.
    • Claims and history: a claim pays exactly what claimable reported and pays it only once; lossOf doesn't change when someone claims; the finalize cursor only moves forward; finished windows never reopen.
    • Loss records: for each finalized window, the stored total loss equals the sum of lossOf, after = before + total, and the totals chain from one window to the next.

    Edge and failure-path tests (test/Edges.t.sol)

    • Timing: settling at end+48h−1 works, at end+48h it is refused, and timeout is the only option.
    • Betting horizon: betting opens exactly 24h ahead and closes at window start. Running, uncreated and past windows reject bets.
    • Results: 0, 99, 100 and the line are checked on both binary markets at once. A line change doesn't affect windows that already exist.
    • Claims: double claims, a jackpot claim after the base claim, split-dust carry-over, and a donation after settlement not changing a fixed prize.
    • Bad attestations: a 64-byte answer, agreed above panel size, quorum 0, issued too far ahead, expired, a field changed after signing, a high-s signature twin, signed for another chain or another deployment. Also a late or mismatched Intake callback.
    • TEAM powers: only TEAM can schedule; executing a different value fails; rescheduling restarts the 12h clock; recipients can be set once.
    • Fuzz: the ±0.5% EXACT band across the full uint256 range, and binary payouts plus fees never exceeding the pools.

Findings (in .imd-findings.json, not written as passing tests)

    1. Medium – anyone can lock every binary market for the cost of gas. The contract allows at most 256 distinct binary bettors per window. An attacker uses 256 wallets betting the 0.5 IMD minimum, all on one side. After that, every real bettor gets TooManyBettors(), and the one-sided pool is refunded 100%, so the attacker loses nothing. Repeated across the 24 windows open ahead, this freezes the game. The cap exists only because finalization loops over users, which the brief forbids. The finding includes a self-contained proof test that fails on the current code with TooManyBettors().
    2. Low – trackedLiabilities() under-reports what is owed. Between settle and finalize, a window's 93% ticket contribution and 2% jackpot fees appear in no view, and pending jackpot deposits are left out too. Solvency is fine (the invariant proves it), but a site or agent reading this view would under-count liabilities.

The earlier test_bettorCapAndViews test still asserts that the cap reverts; I left it as it was.

    • medium256-bettor cap lets anyone lock every binary market for gas only (one-sided sybil pool is refunded 100%)src/HamsterHour.sol:330

_register caps distinct binary bettors per window at MAX_BINARY_BETTORS = 256, a cap added so _sumEligibleLoss can loop over users at finalization (the brief says 'No loops over users'). The brief also requires one-sided binary pools to refund fully with no fees. Together these mean an attacker can fill the cap with 256 throwaway wallets at the 0.5 IMD minimum, all on the same side.

Every real bettor is then refused with TooManyBettors() for both OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE in that window. Because the attacker's pool is one-sided, settle voids it and the attacker gets back 100% of the 128 IMD. They can repeat this for all 24 windows open ahead and freeze the game indefinitely at gas cost only, with capital that is returned every window.

No funds are lost, but the product stops working, and fee, jackpot and mining-history revenue drop to zero.

Before GENESIS, 256 distinct addresses each call betOverUnder(0, true, 0.5e18).

Then alice calls betOverUnder(0, false, 100e18).

Expected: alice's bet is accepted (anyone may bet min 0.5 IMD).

      Actual: reverts TooManyBettors().

After settle, the OVER-only pool is void (ouVoid) and each sybil's claim(0) returns its full 0.5 IMD.

Fix direction: drop the per-window user loop (e.g. accumulate eligible loss per bettor lazily, or derive it from per-side aggregates), or otherwise make filling the cap costly and non-refundable without breaking the brief's full-refund rule.

    • lowtrackedLiabilities() omits settled-but-unfinalized jackpot funds and pending jackpot depositssrc/HamsterHour.sol:770

Between settle(k) and finalize reaching k, the window's 93% ticket contribution and 2% binary jackpot fees are taken out of windowFunds[k] but are not counted in jackpotSeed, jackpotOutstanding, or anything else trackedLiabilities() sums. pendingJackpotDeposits are also excluded. The contract's own solvency holds: test/Invariant.t.sol proves IMD held == windowFunds + in-flight jackpot + pending deposits + trackedLiabilities over random sequences.

But a monitor, a site, or an AI agent reading trackedLiabilities() as 'all liabilities' (its NatSpec only excludes windowFunds) will under-report what is owed, and the in-flight amount cannot be read from any view because Window.jackpotFees and jackpotContribution are internal.

      alice buyTicket(0, 2000); settle window 0 with result 2000.

      Before finalize: imd.balanceOf(game) = 5e18, windowFunds(0) = 0, trackedLiabilities() = 0.35e18 (5% + 1% + 1% fees).

The 4.65e18 jackpot contribution appears in no view.

      After finalize(1), trackedLiabilities() = 5e18.

Expected: the view (or windowInfo) exposes the in-flight amount.

  9. Audit judgeAgent #494found 1 high, 2 medium, 4 low, 2 info

The review is complete and .imd-findings.json holds nine findings plus a 21-row coverage record. No tracked file was changed; only the ignored test/scratch/ and the findings file were written.

New finding the four specialists missed (high). The reserve-paid oracle path cannot work in production. The Intake docs state the control plane calls the result callback once with a 200,000 gas stipend inside a try. onOracleResult runs the full settlement and needs 253k gas for the cheapest two-sided window and 296k with both markets and a ticket. Every paid delivery runs out of gas, the window stays Open, and settlement depends on someone fetching the attestation and calling settle by hand before the 48-hour timeout. The project's own tests missed it because the mock Intake forwards unlimited gas. The attached proof calls the callback with the documented stipend and fails on this code.

    Specialist findings, reproduced and merged:

    • Medium: the shared 256-bettor cap is a free censorship lever. Five reports collapsed into one; all four attached proofs fail with TooManyBettors, and one is attached.
    • Medium: requestOracle is one-shot per window with no failure hook and callable by anyone at the exact end second. The docs confirm a plain request completes status 1 or 2 with no call and no refund. Three reports merged.
    • Low: finalize stalls 47 hours behind a never-created window, and the reserve pays for windows that produce no fees. Both confirmed with scratch tests and merged from two reports each.
    • Low: public settle is not bound to the paid request, and a ready line change has no deadline or bettor-side check. Both kept at low as reported.
    • Info: trackedLiabilities undercounts in-flight jackpot money. The EXACT coverage strategy was downgraded from medium to info because it follows directly from the brief's own ticket parameters.

Dropped: the two-wallet lossOf note, since the brief defines the per-account rule.

Verified externally: the real attestation from api.imdnotdead.fun recovers the configured attester, the Intake and IMD addresses hold code on mainnet, the Intake bytecode contains the request selector the contract calls, and the callback selector matches the docs.

    • highIntake callback onOracleResult needs 253k-296k gas but the Intake delivers results with a 200,000 gas stipend, so the reserve-paid oracle path never settles a windowsrc/HamsterHour.sol:433

requestOracle(k) pays 0.5 IMD from oracleReserve to the IMD Intake v2 (0xa43e6f75ee006411f79ac1c84120606c2330de82) and names onOracleResult as the callback. imd.fun/docs ('What comes back') states the control plane calls the callback once with 'Gas 200,000 for the call (1,000,000 on Sepolia), once, inside a try: a call that reverts cannot block the write, and delivered reads false.

Store the result and act on it in a later call.' onOracleResult runs the full _settle: builds and hashes the ~450-byte question document, ecrecover, writes result/requestId/winner pools/jackpot fields/consumedRequest/fee buckets and emits up to five events. Measured on this code: 253,133 gas for the cheapest fee-paying window (one OVER + one UNDER bet, no snooze, no tickets) and 296,436 gas with both markets and a ticket.

Every production delivery therefore runs out of gas, delivered is false, the window stays Open, and the 0.5 IMD spent per request buys a callback that can never land. Settlement then depends entirely on a third party fetching the attestation from the API and calling settle(); if nobody does within 48h the window times out and winners lose their winnings. The test suite missed it because MockIntake.deliver forwards unlimited gas.

Fix: make the callback cheap (store intakeRequestId/attestation hash + result in the callback and run fee allocation in a separate permissionless call, as the docs advise), or pass the attestation through the existing settle path by having the callback only record the signed answer; keep the gas of the callback under 200,000 and add a test that calls it with call{gas: 200_000}.

State: alice betOverUnder(0,true,10e18), bob betOverUnder(0,false,10e18), fundOracleReserve(1e18); warp to windowEnd(0); requestOracle(0) returns id, Intake holds 0.5 IMD.

Deliver a valid attester-signed attestation (result 2500) to onOracleResult(id, a, sig) from the Intake address with exactly 200,000 gas, as the Intake does.

Expected: window 0 settles (status Settled, result 2500).

Actual: the call runs out of gas and reverts (needs 253,133 gas; with snooze bets and a ticket 296,436), window 0 remains Open with the reserve 0.5 IMD poorer. test/scratch/Proof_CallbackGas.t.sol fails with 'callback must succeed within the Intake's 200,000 gas stipend'; test/scratch/Checks.t.sol logs the gas figures.

    • medium256-distinct-bettor cap shared by both binary markets lets a sybil lock every other address out of a window's binary markets at gas cost only, since a one-sided pool is refunded in fullsrc/HamsterHour.sol:330

Merged from audit_permissions, audit_economics, audit_math, audit_flow and write_foundry_tests (same root cause). _register caps distinct binary bettors at MAX_BINARY_BETTORS = 256 per window, one list for OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE, so that _sumEligibleLoss can iterate it at finalization (a deviation from the brief's 'No loops over users', recorded in the README).

A slot costs one 0.5 IMD MIN_BET and a market left one-sided is refunded 100% with no fees (line 475), so 256 throwaway addresses betting 0.5 IMD OVER fill the list; every later betOverUnder and betSnooze from any new address reverts TooManyBettors for that window, the market is guaranteed one-sided, and the griefer's 128 IMD comes back in full after settle or timeout.

Repeatable for all 24 windows open ahead with a rotating float; a whale can also use it to force-void a window they are losing. No funds are lost, but the brief's open binary markets stop working and no fee reaches stakers, jackpot, reserve or TEAM; totalEligibleLoss records 0 for the window.

Fix needs a design decision: derive totalEligibleLoss without iterating users (e.g. accumulate each account's netted loss lazily on first claim/lossOf into a per-window pending total), or drop/raise the cap and bound it by stake instead of count; a cap that can be filled with refundable minimum bets is not acceptable.

Before GENESIS (now = GENESIS - 1h): 256 fresh addresses each approve and call betOverUnder(0, true, 0.5e18). alice calls betOverUnder(0, false, 100e18).

Expected: accepted (brief: binary markets open to anyone at min 0.5 IMD).

Actual: revert TooManyBettors(); betSnooze(0, true, 1e18) from alice also reverts TooManyBettors().

      Settling with result 2500 gives windowInfo(0).ouVoid == true, balances(TEAM) == 0, pendingStakingFees == 0, and each sybil's claim(0) returns exactly 0.5 IMD (128 IMD total).

All four specialist proofs (.imd/reads/proofs/Proof_*.t.sol) fail on this code with TooManyBettors; the attached proof is the simplest.

    • mediumrequestOracle is one-shot per window forever, uses request() without a failure hook and is callable by anyone at the exact end second, so a failed or premature panel burns the window's only reserve-pasrc/HamsterHour.sol:410

Merged from audit_permissions (medium), audit_economics (low) and audit_flow (low). oracleRequested[k] is set permanently and nothing clears it. The contract calls IIntake.request, not requestWithFailure, and implements no onFailure. imd.fun/docs: 'Without onFailure: A request made with request ... completes status 1 or 2 with no call'; 'Payment buys the question and its panel, not an answer: a panel that disagrees ends without one'; 'Refunds: None'.

The question text itself says a round not yet published as settled is unanswerable, and anyone, including a losing bettor, may call requestOracle(k) at block.timestamp == w.endsAt, before Squeekchain can have published round 6k+5. The 0.5 IMD leaves the reserve, the panel most likely ends with status 1/2, and no second reserve-paid request is possible for that window for the remaining 48h even though the reserve is funded and the data appears hours later.

Unless a third party pays IMD off-chain and submits via settle(), the window times out: winners lose their winnings, every fee bucket gets nothing. Together with finding 1 the reserve-paid path has no working delivery and no retry.

Fix: request through requestWithFailure and implement onFailure(bytes32,uint8,bytes32,uint16,uint16,bytes) gated on msg.sender == INTAKE that clears oracleRequested[k] and _intakeWindow[id]; additionally allow a new reserve-paid request once the previous one is older than its 86400 s validity without a settlement, and consider a short publication grace after endsAt.

State: alice OVER 100e18, bob UNDER 100e18 on window 0; fundOracleReserve(10e18).

      (1) warp to windowEnd(0) exactly; bob calls requestOracle(0): succeeds, oracleReserve 10 -> 9.5e18, oracleRequested[0] == true.

      (2) The Intake completes the request with status 1 or 2 and makes no call.

      (3) At windowEnd(0)+30h anyone calls requestOracle(0): expected a new paid request is possible while the window is settleable and the reserve holds 9.5 IMD; actual revert AlreadyRequested().

      (4) At windowEnd(0)+48h timeout(0) succeeds; bob claims 100 IMD, alice who would have received 182 IMD gets 100.

      Contract-side steps (1), (3) are shown by test/scratch/Checks.t.sol::test_requestOracleOneShotAndReserveDrain.

    • lowfinalize waits until windowEnd(k)+48h for a window nobody ever created, although it is immutable from windowStart(k), delaying later windows' jackpot shares and loss history by up to 47 hourssrc/HamsterHour.sol:549

Merged from audit_math and audit_flow. A Status.None window can only become Open through _openForBet, which requires isBettingOpen(k) (block.timestamp < startsAt), and pendingJackpotDeposits[k] only grows while k == earliestNotStartedWindow(), i.e. before startsAt. So every input to _finalizeOne for an empty window is frozen from windowStart(k). finalize nevertheless refuses to pass it until windowEnd(k) + TIMEOUT, the bound meant for Open windows awaiting settle or timeout.

Finalization is strictly ordered, so a settled window k+1 with jackpot winners has its jackpotShare unset and claim(k+1) pays no jackpot, and totalEligibleLoss/cumulativeLoss for k+1 are not recorded, until end(k)+48h = end(k+1)+47h. Quiet hours are routine for a 24/7 hourly game and GENESIS is already in the past, so this happens from the first windows on.

Fix: for Status.None use if (block.timestamp < windowStart(k)) break; (or windowEnd(k)); keep the TIMEOUT bound only for Status.Open.

Nobody bets on window 0. alice buyTicket(1, 2000), alice OVER 1e18 and bob UNDER 1e18 on window 1.

At windowEnd(1) settle(1) with result 2500. finalize(10): expected nextFinalizeWindow() == 2 (window 0 can never be created any more); actual nextFinalizeWindow() == 0.

At windowEnd(0)+48h-1 finalize(10) still leaves it 0; at windowEnd(0)+48h it advances to 2 and window 1's jackpot/loss history is recorded.

Shown by test/scratch/Checks.t.sol::test_finalizeStallsBehindEmptyWindow (its first three assertions).

    • lowrequestOracle spends 0.5 IMD of the shared reserve on any Open window, so one refundable 0.5 IMD one-sided bet per window drains the reserve at no cost to the actorsrc/HamsterHour.sol:409

Merged from audit_permissions and audit_economics. requestOracle(k) only requires Status.Open and end <= now < end+48h. A window is created by a single 0.5 IMD bet, and a one-sided market is refunded in full with no fees, so a window that will produce zero fees still costs the donor-funded reserve 0.5 IMD when anyone (an eager keeper following the README's 'call requestOracle(k) after each window ends', or a griefer) requests it.

The reserve is refilled by 1% of fee-paying volume, so it only breaks even on windows with >= 50 IMD of two-sided volume; 24 empty-ish windows a day cost 12 IMD/day. An empty reserve does not block settle, timeout or claims (verified), so the loss is of reserve funds only.

Fix: pay from the reserve only when the window has fee-paying activity (both sides of a binary market funded or at least one ticket), or charge the window's own 1% oracle share first.

      fundOracleReserve(10e18).

For k in 0..19: alice betOverUnder(k, true, 0.5e18) (one address suffices); at each windowEnd(k) alice calls requestOracle(k).

Expected: reserve spend tied to windows that can produce fees.

Actual: oracleReserve() == 0 after 20 requests, requestOracle(20) for a real two-sided window reverts ReserveTooLow(); settling each k with result 2500 voids the market and alice's claim(k) returns every 0.5 IMD.

The single-window step is shown by test/scratch/Checks.t.sol::test_requestOracleOneShotAndReserveDrain (reserve 1e18 -> 0.5e18, no refill, 0.5 IMD refunded).

    • lowPublic settle accepts any attester-signed attestation for the question regardless of requestId, so a bettor's own attestation can pre-empt the paid Intake delivery and there is no conflicting-attestatsrc/HamsterHour.sol:441

From audit_permissions. onOracleResult is bound to a request this contract paid for (_intakeWindow), but settle(k, a, sig) accepts any attestation whose questionHash matches question(k) for any fromBlock/toBlock and any requestId, as long as the attester signed it for this contract's domain. IMD's docs let an off-chain request body name its own consumer {chainId, verifyingContract}, so any bettor can commission an attestation for question(k) signed for HamsterHour.

Whichever valid attestation lands first settles k; if the panel ever answers the same question differently (a re-settled round, a different evidence window), the holder of the favourable one submits it and the Intake's delivery for the reserve-paid request reverts NotSettleable, wasting 0.5 IMD. The design review lists a conflicting-attestation policy as an open risk; the code has none.

Impact depends on the attester signing two answers for one question, an oracle-side property, hence low.

Fix: when oracleRequested[k] is true, prefer or require the Intake callback for k until that request has failed or its validity lapsed, or record the paid request id and require a.requestId to match when one exists; keep public settle for windows nobody paid for from the reserve.

alice OVER 100e18, bob UNDER 100e18 on window 0; reserve funded; at windowEnd(0) requestOracle(0) -> intake id X. alice obtains an attester-signed attestation for question(0) (consumer = HamsterHour, requestId R != X's, result 2101) and calls settle(0, a, sig): accepted, window settles OVER.

The Intake later delivers result 2099 via onOracleResult(X, ...): reverts NotSettleable.

Expected: the attestation the contract paid for settles, or the paid delivery is not silently wasted.

Actual: first valid attestation wins; code path lines 437-461 has no requestId binding other than the consumed-id check.

    • lowA ready line change never expires and bets carry no expected-line argument, so a window's first bettor can be snapshotted at a line other than the one windowInfo showedsrc/HamsterHour.sol:322

From audit_permissions. windowInfo(k).line returns the live line for a window with no bets (line 750), but the window's line is fixed only by its first bet, betOverUnder has no expected-line parameter, and _execute (line 828) has a readiness time but no deadline. TEAM can schedule a change, let it sit, and execute it in the same block as or just before a user's first bet on a window; the 12-hour notice then does not tell bettors which windows are affected.

TEAM is trusted and gains nothing directly in a pari-mutuel pool, so this is a broken guarantee ('applies only to windows created after' is unobservable at bet time), not a theft path.

Fix: add an expectedLine argument checked against the window's line on creation, and/or give a scheduled setting an execution deadline, and/or announce an effectiveFrom window index at scheduling.

      TEAM scheduleLine(3000); warp 12h + 5 days; k = currentWindow()+2 with no bets; windowInfo(k).line == 2100.

In the next block TEAM executeLine(3000) then alice betOverUnder(k, false, 10e18).

Expected: alice's UNDER bet is rejected or protected when the line differs from what she read.

Actual: windowInfo(k).line == 3000 and alice's bet is accepted at a 3000 line (lines 318-323 snapshot line at creation with no check against the caller's expectation).

    • infotrackedLiabilities() omits pendingJackpotDeposits and the settled-but-unfinalized jackpot money, so the published liability figure undercounts what is owedsrc/HamsterHour.sol:771

Merged from audit_math and write_foundry_tests. The view is documented as every tracked liability except per-window funds, but deposits waiting in pendingJackpotDeposits[k] and, between settle(k) and finalize reaching k, the window's 93% ticket contribution plus 2% binary fees (already removed from windowFunds[k], held in the internal Window.jackpotContribution/jackpotFees) appear in no view.

Accounting is correct and test/Invariant.t.sol proves held == sum of all buckets, but a site or agent comparing balanceOf(IMD) with trackedLiabilities() reads an inflated surplus.

Fix: keep running totals (totalPendingJackpotDeposits, jackpotInFlight) and add them to the view, or expose them in windowInfo.

      Fresh deployment before GENESIS: depositJackpot(10e18) -> trackedLiabilities() == 0 while IMD.balanceOf(game) == 10e18 and pendingJackpotDeposits(0) == 10e18. Also: alice buyTicket(0, 2000); settle window 0 with result 2000; before finalize, balanceOf(game) == 5e18, windowFunds(0) == 0, trackedLiabilities() == 0.35e18; the 4.65e18 contribution is in no view until finalize(1) moves it to jackpotSeed/jackpotOutstanding.

    • infoEXACT jackpot can be fully covered and made exclusive by one actor once the carried seed exceeds about 410 IMD (follows from the brief's one-per-address, 256-cap and 80% parameters)src/HamsterHour.sol:304

From audit_economics, recalibrated to info: the mechanism follows the brief's own parameters (5 IMD ticket, one per address, max 256 per window, +-0.5% band, 80% to winners), so it is a design property for the author to document rather than a code defect. Each ticket covers 2*floor(result/200)+1 consecutive results (21 at 2100).

One-per-address is sybil-trivial and the 256 cap is first-come, so 256 tickets spaced 21 apart cover every awake result in [2000, 7375]; exactly one wins and receives 80% of the whole pot while TicketsFull locks every other player out. Cost 1,280 IMD, own contribution 1,190.4 IMD, payout 0.8*(seed + 1,190.4 + 2% binary fees): profitable whenever seed > 409.6 IMD; fewer tickets suffice for a narrower plausible range.

The 20% carry and feedHamster/depositJackpot grow the seed toward that state. Options are scope decisions: lower the per-window ticket cap's exclusivity (no cap, dilute by all winners), scale payout with covered range, or document the break-even in the README.

      depositJackpot(1000e18); 256 fresh addresses buyTicket(0, 2010 + 21i); alice buyTicket(0, 2100) reverts TicketsFull(); settle window 0 with result 2100; finalize(1): windowInfo(0).jackpotWinners == 1, jackpotPot == 2190.4e18, the winning sybil claims 1752.32e18 for a 1280e18 outlay. For every r in [2000, 7375], isWinningGuess(2010 + 21((r-2000)/21), r) is true, so the win is certain for any awake result in that range.

    What changed in src/HamsterHour.sol:

    • Callback gas (high): settlement is now two steps. onOracleResult only verifies and records the result. Fee allocation moved to a permissionless, idempotent allocate(k), also run by public settle and finalize. Claims compute entitlements from pools and result, so they never wait for allocation.
    • Bettor cap (medium): the per-window bettor list and cap are gone entirely. totalEligibleLoss[k] is now a pool-level figure with no loop over users: losing side stake plus the winning side's fee shortfall. It equals the sum of lossOf without self-hedging and bounds it from above otherwise.
    • One-shot request (medium): requestOracle uses requestWithFailure with an onOracleFailure hook that clears the request. A request lapses after 86,400 s. After failure or lapse a new reserve-paid request is allowed. The contract falls back to plain request on an Intake without the failure variant, which the reviewer's proof Intake requires.
    • Advisories: finalize passes an empty window once it has started. The reserve only pays for windows with fee-paying activity. Public settle waits while a paid request is outstanding. Line changes now announce their effective window at scheduling so no bettable window's line can change (executeLine removed). trackedLiabilities includes pending deposits and in-flight jackpot money.

One finding disputed: the EXACT jackpot coverage sweep follows directly from parameters the brief fixes, so I documented the break-even seed in the README rather than changing the rules.

Trade-offs to be aware of: the suggested post-window request delay was dropped because the binding proof calls requestOracle at the exact window end. The README tells keepers to wait a few minutes instead. The ABI changed on the TEAM side (scheduleLine only, plus new views and allocate), so the site should re-import abi/HamsterHour.json.

  11. ManifestAgent #17631 file changedsent back

All work is done and verified. Only launch.json changed. No commit was requested, so the change stays in the working tree.

What I found. The existing manifest from the previous round still matched the accepted contract: one HamsterHour with constructor team_, attester_, intake_ as $owner, the production attester 0x5598aa9146215bc13eb26f2c692ad1461fd32982, and the IMD Intake 0xa43e6f75ee006411f79ac1c84120606c2330de82. Both static addresses are the ones the README and the real-attestation test in test/Oracle.t.sol document. But the source was revised after my manifest was written: loss history is now computed per pool in _poolLoss with no loop over users. My notes still reported a "loops over up to 256 bettors" limitation, which was stale and wrong about the accepted code.

What I changed. Only the notes string in launch.json:

    • Removed the stale limitation paragraph.
    • Stated that loss history is computed at pool level with no loop over users, and that the only finalization loop counts winning EXACT guesses over at most 256 tickets, the cap the brief sets.
    • Noted the Intake is checked on first use rather than in the constructor, so deployment on an empty chain succeeds.

    Checks run.

    • Manifest validation: exact keys kind, contracts, notes; kind evm_contracts; one unique identifier; three string constructor args matching the ABI's three address parameters in order; notes at 1,840 of 4,000 characters.
    • forge build succeeded (lint warnings only, in tests, pre-existing).
    • forge test with the verifier's fuzz seed: 38 passed, 0 failed across 4 suites, including the conservation fuzz.
    • git status shows only launch.json modified.

  12. Write foundry testsAgent #3432 files changedsent back

The full suite passes: 62 tests, 0 failures, run with the verifier's fuzz seed. That includes my fuzz tests and the three invariants over random call sequences, with no reverts. I also found two defects that I couldn't test around, so I reported them in .imd-findings.json instead.

Why my tests needed changes. The contract changed after my last round, and my previous tests no longer compiled or passed against it. I changed only test/Edges.t.sol and test/Invariant.t.sol:

    • Line change: executeLine is gone. The line test now uses scheduleLine, then checks that window nextLineFrom - 1 keeps 2100 and window nextLineFrom gets the new line (a result of exactly 3000 counts as UNDER there).
    • Oracle callbacks: the mock Intake's deliver no longer passes errors back, so the callback tests now use deliverStrict and check the exact error. New failure paths covered:
      • a public settle is refused while a paid request is outstanding, and allowed again once it lapses;
      • a late callback after settle or timeout is refused;
      • a request id that already failed can't deliver later;
      • strangers calling onOracleResult or onOracleFailure are refused.
    • finalize: a window nobody bet on now finalizes once it has started, so the end position is 2 instead of 1. The test also checks the empty window's loss history.
    • Invariant handler: it now skips windows with a pending paid request and windows where nothing can pay fees. It also simulates refusals through the failure hook.
    • Balance check: the invariant no longer counts two amounts the contract now tracks itself (jackpotInFlight and totalPendingJackpotDeposits), which would have been counted twice.
    • Loss total: the check is now "sum of lossOf ≤ totalEligibleLoss", and it must be equal only in windows where nobody bet on both sides of a market. It used to require equality everywhere. I made this change because of finding 2, not to make the test pass.

Findings (each has a self-contained Foundry proof that fails on the current code):

    1. Medium – anyone can block settlement for the whole 48 hours (src/HamsterHour.sol:494). settle is refused for 24 hours after each requestOracle. Anyone can call requestOracle for free (the reserve pays) and call it again once the previous request lapses. Calling it at window end and again 24 hours later covers the full 48 hours. If the Intake never calls back, a correctly signed attestation still can't settle the window: it can only time out and refund everyone. The proof fails with PaidRequestPending() at end + 48h − 1s.
    2. Low – one person betting both sides inflates totalEligibleLoss and shrinks everyone's mining share (:662). In the proof, the per-account losses add up to 190 IMD but the stored total is 1010 IMD. Honest losers' share drops accordingly, and the hedger pays only the 9% fees. The README calls this a design choice; I'm reporting it because the brief defines the total alongside the per-account losses.

The invariant run takes about 3 minutes, so I set it to 48 runs in the test file.

    • mediumAnyone can block public settlement for the whole 48h window by renewing reserve-paid oracle requestssrc/HamsterHour.sol:494

settle() reverts PaidRequestPending while oracleRequestPending(k) is true, i.e. for ORACLE_REQUEST_VALIDITY (24h) after each requestOracle. requestOracle is permissionless, is paid from the shared oracle reserve (not the caller), and can be called again as soon as the previous request lapses. Request at end and again at end+24h keeps the window pending until end+48h = TIMEOUT.

If the Intake neither delivers nor calls onOracleFailure (an outage, or a delivery whose callback reverts inside the Intake's try, which leaves pendingIntakeRequest set), no valid attestation fetched from the IMD API can settle the window: it can only time out, refunding everything and voiding every market outcome. The caller spends only gas; the reserve pays 1 IMD.

The brief requires that settlement within [end, end+48h) not depend on the reserve path (an empty reserve never blocks settle).

Two-sided OU bets on window 0; reserve holds >= 1 IMD; Intake takes payment but never calls back.

At windowEnd(0) anyone calls requestOracle(0); at windowEnd(0)+24h calls it again.

At windowEnd(0)+48h-1 a correctly signed attestation for window 0 is submitted to settle(0, a, sig).

      Expected: window settles.

Actual: revert PaidRequestPending(); only timeout(0) is possible afterwards.

    • lowtotalEligibleLoss[k] is pool-level, so one hedging account inflates it far above the sum of lossOf and dilutes every minersrc/HamsterHour.sol:662

_poolLoss counts each losing side in full, but lossOf nets an account's position across sides. An account betting both sides of one market loses only the 9% fee yet adds its whole losing side to totalEligibleLoss.

A MiningVault paying reward * lossOf / totalEligibleLoss never over-distributes (README documents this) but under-distributes: honest losers' shares are diluted by an amount the hedger can scale at a 9% cost, and the undistributed remainder is stranded or misallocated. The brief defines the per-window total alongside lossOf; the invariant 'sum over accounts of lossOf(k, a) == totalEligibleLoss[k]' fails whenever someone hedges.

The suite now asserts sum <= total always and equality only for windows without hedgers (test/Invariant.t.sol) rather than blessing the gap.

      Window 0: alice OVER 10, bob UNDER 10, griefer YES 1000 and NO 1000; settle 2500; finalize(1).

      Sum of lossOf = 0 + 10 + 180 = 190 IMD.

      Expected totalEligibleLoss(0) = 190 IMD; actual 1010 IMD, so alice/bob's mining weight drops from 10/190 to 10/1010.

  13. Audit judgeAgent #1182found 1 medium, 1 info

All six findings from my last round are settled. I'm reporting one new medium and one info note. .imd-findings.json holds both findings and a coverage row for each of the 20 entry points.

    Earlier findings:

    • [high] Callback ran out of gas at 200,000 — fixed. My proof now passes. onOracleResult only records the result, and fees are handed out later by allocate/finalize. Claims don't wait for that step.
    • [medium] 256-bettor cap could be filled with sybil bets — fixed. The cap and the per-user list are gone, and three of the four sybil proofs now pass. The fourth (Proof_7b8c7c6c6e6f, and the second copy Proof_ba65603c209d) no longer compiles because the bettorCount() view it calls was removed with the list.
    • [medium] One-shot requestOracle — fixed. It now uses the request with a failure hook, has an onOracleFailure handler, and allows a new paid request after a failure or after the 24h validity lapses.
    • [low] finalize stalled behind an empty window — fixed. A window nobody bet on now passes as soon as it starts.
    • [low] Reserve drained by one-sided windows — fixed. requestOracle now refuses windows with no fee-paying activity.
    • [low] Line change unobservable at bet time — fixed. The window a change applies from is announced when it is scheduled, so a window open for bets never changes its line.
    • [info] Liabilities view undercounted — fixed. totalPendingJackpotDeposits and jackpotInFlight are added to the view.
    • [info] Jackpot coverage sweep — dropped. The author disputed it and documented it in the README. The parameters that cause it are all fixed by the brief, so I accept that.
    • [low] Public settle could pre-empt the paid delivery — fixed, but the fix causes the new medium below.

    New findings:

    1. [medium] Public settle can be blocked for the whole 48 hours (src/HamsterHour.sol:494, if (oracleRequestPending(k)) revert PaidRequestPending();). This came from the tester and I reproduced it.
      • Cause: every reserve-paid request blocks public settle for 24h, and anyone can pay a new request the moment the last one lapses. One request at the window's end and another 24h later keep it blocked until the 48h timeout.
      • When it bites: if the Intake never calls back (an outage, the fallback path without a failure hook, or a callback that reverts), no valid attestation can settle the window. It times out and winners only get their stake back.
      • Proof: the tester's proof is attached. It fails on this code with PaidRequestPending() at windowEnd(0)+48h-1.
      • Suggested fix: only the first paid request may hold public settle back, or cap the hold so at least 24h of public settlement always remains.
    2. [info] totalEligibleLoss is not the sum of lossOf (src/HamsterHour.sol:666).
      • Hedging: wallets betting both sides push the stored total far above the sum of lossOf, which waters down everyone else's mining weight. This is documented and is the cost of computing the total without a loop over users, so I don't treat it as blocking.
      • Rounding: in the opposite direction, rounding makes the sum of lossOf exceed the stored total by a couple of wei. That contradicts the README's claim that a vault "never over-distributes". Reproduced: three 7 IMD UNDER bets against 0.5 IMD OVER, result 2000, give a sum of 1935000000000000002 against a stored 1935000000000000000.

    Checks:

    • The author's test suite passes in full.
    • launch.json matches the constructor (team, attester, Intake).
    • I wrote proofs under test/scratch/ while checking and then deleted it, so the tree is unchanged apart from .imd-findings.json.

Coverage: 17 entry points hold. requestOracle and settle point to finding 1, and finalize points to finding 2.

    • mediumRenewing reserve-paid oracle requests keeps public settle refused (PaidRequestPending) for the whole 48h window, so an Intake that does not call back forces a timeoutsrc/HamsterHour.sol:494

Merged from write_foundry_tests (a80f72ebe2a7). This is a regression from the fix for my earlier low finding d195 (priority rule). settle(k) reverts while oracleRequestPending(k), i.e. for ORACLE_REQUEST_VALIDITY = 86,400 s after each requestOracle(k) (line 413: block.timestamp < oracleRequestedAt[k] + ORACLE_REQUEST_VALIDITY). requestOracle is permissionless and paid from the shared reserve, and it may be called again as soon as the previous request lapses (line 433).

A request at windowEnd(k) and another at windowEnd(k)+86,400 keep the window pending until windowEnd(k)+172,800 = windowEnd(k)+TIMEOUT. So whenever the Intake neither delivers nor calls onOracleFailure, no correctly signed attestation from the IMD API can settle the window during [end, end+48h).

That happens during an Intake or control-plane outage, on the plain request() fallback (line 456, which has no failure hook), or when the delivery reverts inside the Intake's try, which leaves pendingIntakeRequest[k] set. The window can only time out. Winners lose their winnings, and the stakers, jackpot, reserve and TEAM get no fees.

The second request needs no griefer: the README tells keepers to request again after a lapse. The caller pays only gas, and the reserve pays 1 IMD. This breaks the brief's 'Settle when end <= now < end+48h' and its rule that the reserve path never blocks settlement.

Minimal fix that keeps the priority rule: let only the first reserve-paid request of a window hold public settle back, or bound the hold to a fixed grace such as min(requestedAt + validity, end + 24h), so at least 24h of public settlement always remains. A later request can still deliver through onOracleResult.

Ran test/scratch/Proof_a80f72ebe2a7.t.sol (the tester's proof, attached) against the revised tree. alice betOverUnder(0,true,10e18), bob betOverUnder(0,false,10e18), griefer fundOracleReserve(1e18), with an Intake that takes payment and never calls back.

At windowEnd(0) the griefer calls requestOracle(0), and again at windowEnd(0)+1 days.

At windowEnd(0)+48h-1 a valid attester-signed attestation (result 2500, issuedAt = now) is passed to settle(0,a,sig).

Expected: window 0 settles (status Settled).

      Actual: [FAIL: PaidRequestPending()].

After that only timeout(0) is possible, and alice gets back her 10e18 stake instead of her 18.2e18 winnings.

    • infoPool-level totalEligibleLoss is not the sum of lossOf: hedging inflates it, and in the winner-shortfall case it falls below the sum by floor dust, which contradicts the README's 'never over-distributesrc/HamsterHour.sol:666

Merged from write_foundry_tests (c8113b6c). _poolLoss (the fix for a343) counts the whole losing side of each market. Hedging accounts net their own lossOf, so the stored total can far exceed the sum of lossOf. This dilutes honest miners at a 9% fee cost to the hedger.

It is documented, and an exact total without a per-user loop is not generally computable, so I treat it as a design note, not a blocker. The documented guarantee also fails in the other direction. When the winners' side has a shortfall, the pool-level term is win - W, but each account's loss is s_i - floor(s_i*W/win).

The per-account sum therefore exceeds the stored total by up to one wei per winning account. That contradicts README line 180 ('A vault paying reward * lossOf / totalEligibleLoss therefore never over-distributes').

Fix: compute each account's loss in lossOf with the payout rounded up (ceil), while claims stay floor-rounded. Or round the pool-level shortfall up by the dust bound. Or correct the README.

Scratch test (GameTest fixture): alice, bob and carol each betOverUnder(0,false,7e18); keeper betOverUnder(0,true,0.5e18); settle(0) with result 2000 (UNDER wins); finalize(1).

Expected: sum of lossOf <= totalEligibleLoss(0).

      Actual: sum = 1935000000000000002 > totalEligibleLoss(0) = 1935000000000000000.

Hedge case: alice OVER 10e18, bob UNDER 10e18, carol YES 1000e18 and NO 1000e18; result 2500; finalize(1).

      Sum of lossOf = 190e18, totalEligibleLoss(0) = 1010e18.

  14. Build contract projectAgent #11666 files changed

Both findings are addressed. I could not run forge on this machine: every shell command, including plain true, was refused by the sandbox with apply-seccomp: write /proc/self/setgroups ... Permission denied, so the build, tests and the proof were verified by reading and hand computation only. The verifier's run is the first real execution of this revision.

Finding 673ea259 (settle held for 48h by renewed requests), fixed. The report reproduces by inspection: settle reverted whenever oracleRequestPending(k) held, and a second reserve-paid request at end+24h kept that true until the timeout. Changes in src/HamsterHour.sol:

    • New constant PUBLIC_SETTLE_HOLD of 24 hours and a view publicSettleHeld(k), true only while a paid request is outstanding and the window ended less than 24h ago.
    • settle now reverts PaidRequestPending only while that view is true. The paid-answer priority rule survives for the first 24h, and the second half of the 48h is always open to a signed attestation. requestOracle and the Intake callbacks are unchanged, so a renewed request can still deliver.
    • windowInfo gained a publicSettleHeld field. The ABI and README (oracle section, chosen values, trust assumptions) were updated.
    • Two new tests in test/Oracle.t.sol cover the proof's scenario end to end (public settle at end+48h-1 after two requests, winner paid, late paid delivery refused) and the hold being measured from window end rather than request time.

Finding 7b8cf7d4 (sum of lossOf exceeds totalEligibleLoss by dust), fixed. Reproduced on paper with the reviewer's numbers. lossOf now rounds each winning share up while claims keep rounding down, so every recorded loss is at most the real one and the sum over accounts never exceeds the pool-level total. The hedging direction stays as documented design: the README now explains the dilution and that an exact total would need the forbidden per-user loop. New test in test/Markets.t.sol asserts the sum is exactly one wei under the total in the rounded case, claims are unchanged, and the hedge case numbers. The conservation fuzz now asserts the bound with no dust allowance.

Answers for both findings are in .imd-responses.json. Nothing was committed, as the brief did not ask for a commit.

  15. ManifestAgent #1321 file changed

The manifest is revised and verified. Only launch.json changed.

What I found. No findings were attached to this round, so I checked the existing manifest against the tree as it now stands. The accepted source was revised by another contributor since the manifest was written, but the diff only adds a 24-hour cap on how long a reserve-paid oracle request can block the public settle path, plus rounding of the loss view. The constructor of HamsterHour still takes team, attester and intake addresses in that order, which matches the ABI in abi/HamsterHour.json.

What I changed. One sentence was added to the notes so they describe the current implementation, mentioning the public-settle hold. The contract entry and its three constructor arguments are unchanged: the owner placeholder for TEAM, the attester address recovered from a real IMD attestation in the oracle tests, and the IMD Intake address documented in the README.

    Verification.

    • The manifest parses with exactly the keys kind, contracts and notes, one contract with a valid identifier, three string arguments, and notes under the 4000-character limit.
    • The build succeeds, and the full suite passes with the verifier's fuzz seed: 41 tests, 0 failures.
    • Only launch.json is modified in the working tree.

I updated my tests for the builder's latest changes: lossOf now rounds payouts up, and public settle is held for at most 24 hours after a window ends. forge build passes, and forge test passes all 70 submitted tests with the verifier's fuzz seed (the 71 in the run included one scratch test, since deleted). I didn't touch the implementation.

    test/Invariant.t.sol

    • Tighter loss check: the old check allowed the sum of lossOf over all accounts to go 8 wei above totalEligibleLoss. Now the sum can never be above it, checked after every call and again each time a window is finalized.
    • Fixed a check that was too loose: "stored total equals the sum" was only skipped when an account bet both sides of the same market. It is now also skipped when an account holds any two sides across the two markets, which is the condition the README actually states.
    • New settle-hold checks: the random handler now uses publicSettleHeld, so it also settles publicly while a paid request is still outstanding but no longer holds. It checks the hold is never in force at or after the window's end plus 24 hours.
    • Coverage: I checked that the runs really reach windows finalized with a nonzero loss total, and public settles over an outstanding paid request. Both happen, so these checks aren't empty.

test/Edges.t.sol, four unit tests and two fuzz tests:

    • Uneven winning shares: three winners whose shares don't divide evenly, with a losing side small enough that the winners still lose money after fees. Each lossOf is at most the real loss and under 1 wei short of it, the sum stays within 3 wei of the stored total, and the values don't change after claims.
    • Fuzzed loss bounds: random stakes and sides across both markets. Each lossOf is within 2 wei below the real loss, the sum never exceeds the stored total, and the two are equal to within rounding when each account holds one side.
    • Late request: a paid oracle request made 30 hours after the window ends never holds the public settle. The reserve is charged once, the late delivery is refused, and requesting again reverts.
    • Fuzzed hold boundary: for any request time and check time, the hold applies exactly while a request is pending and the time is before the window's end plus 24 hours. Settle reverts or succeeds to match.
    • Cross-market netting: a test that records the current behaviour described in the finding below.

Finding (.imd-findings.json, info level): the stored totalEligibleLoss counts every losing side in full, but lossOf nets each account across both markets. Ordinary play makes the total larger than the sum, not only hedging: for example, alice bets OVER 10 and YES 20, bob bets UNDER 30 and NO 20, and the result is 2500. Then alice's lossOf is 0, bob's is 13.6, and the stored total is 50 IMD. This errs on the safe side: a staking vault that pays reward × lossOf / total will pay out less than the reward, never more. The README mentions this, but only under its "more than one side in the window" caveat. Getting an exact total would need a loop over users, which the brief forbids. So I reported it for the vault design and the brief's owner rather than as a code bug.

    • infototalEligibleLoss exceeds the sum of lossOf for any account that wins one binary market and loses the other, not only for same-market hedgerssrc/HamsterHour.sol:674

_poolLoss counts each losing side in full, while lossOf nets an account across OVER/UNDER and SNOOZE. Any account with sides in both markets whose results differ, such as an ordinary OVER + SNOOZE NO bettor when the result is at or below the line, records less lossOf than the total attributes to it. A MiningVault paying reward * lossOf / totalEligibleLoss therefore pays out less than the window's reward, and the rest is never paid by the share formula.

This is the safe direction and the README covers it with 'no account holds more than one side in the window'. It is reported so the vault design and the brief's owner can see that ordinary two-market play, not only hedging, causes it. An exact total would need a loop over users, which the brief forbids, so this is a trade-off, not a code fix.

Window 0: alice OVER 10 IMD + YES 20 IMD, bob UNDER 30 IMD + NO 20 IMD, result 2500, finalize.

Expected if the total were the sum: totalEligibleLoss(0) == lossOf(alice)+lossOf(bob) == 13.6 IMD.

      Actual: lossOf(alice)=0, lossOf(bob)=13.6 IMD, totalEligibleLoss(0)=50 IMD.

  17. Audit judgeAgent #1860found nothing

The review is complete. The tree is unchanged apart from the findings file, which git ignores along with build output.

Outcome: both earlier findings are fixed, and nothing new reproduced. The findings file holds an empty list and a 23-row coverage record covering all 20 entry points plus three invariants.

    Settled findings

    • Medium, renewed reserve requests blocking public settle. Fixed. The hold now applies only while a request is outstanding and the window ended less than 24 hours ago. My attached proof passes against the revised code: with requests at window end and at end plus one day, a public attestation at end plus 47h59m settles the window. A scratch check also confirmed the hold switches off exactly at end plus 24 hours and a request renewed after that does not re-hold.
    • Info, sum of lossOf exceeding the pool-level total. Fixed. Loss history now rounds winner shares up while claims round down. On my earlier fixture the sum is one wei under the total, each winner still claims the same floor amount, and the value is stable across claims. A 256-run fuzz across both markets and three accounts kept the sum within the total.

Specialist material. Every specialist finding described an older tree. The bettor cap, the one-shot oracle request, the reserve drain by refundable bets, the finalize stall on empty windows, the line snapshot race and the missing pending deposits in the liability view are all gone from the current code. Two of the attached specialist proofs no longer compile because they reference the removed cap. The finalize-stall proof fails only on its own over-strict assertion that the next window index equals one; the behaviour it asked for holds, since window 1's jackpot share is claimable immediately after settlement.

Deployability and addresses. Runtime size is 23,683 bytes and creation 25,469 bytes, both under the limits. The manifest has only the three schema keys, three constructor arguments in declaration order, and notes under the length cap. Both the Intake and IMD addresses hold code on mainnet, the Intake bytecode contains both request selectors the contract calls, and IMD reports symbol IMD with 18 decimals. The full project suite passed, 72 tests including the invariant run.
