MineWorldCraft – third re-check: fixes for IMD Swarm second re-check 52b534f9

Repo: https://github.com/AdamNakamoto/MineWorld Commit: 25121ea

History: audit 0792975e (ba2a8ed), re-check 8c7ba957 (49830f2), second re-check 52b534f9 (4de227d). Every finding of

52b534f9 and its fix (file:line and the tests) is in AUDIT.md section 10. forge test: 243 passed, 10 fork tests

skipped without a fork (all 10 pass on a Robinhood Chain fork). Also new since 4de227d: the I'M DIO mint is free with

at most 3 per wallet at launch, and the collection's ownership can never be renounced (so OpenSea Studio editing

stays possible).

Please verify each fix and check the changed code for anything new:

  1. MEDIUM late initialisation: MiningSites.initialize now runs only inside the proxy's own constructor (address(this).code.length == 0, for anyone); the late path is removed, so a proxy deployed without initialize can

    never be set up. Your FakeVaultHijackTest is in the suite as submitted, plus the own-vault variant.

  2. LOW free re-roll: after the 256-block window seal() reverts EntropyExpired; only the owner can call moveEntropyOn(), at most MAX_ENTROPY_MOVES = 3 times (event each time), after which the reveal is Stuck. Anyone can

    still seal within the window; the panel and dev.sh send seal() right after reveal() and retry. A fuzz test shows a

    seal anywhere in the window always fixes the seed.

  3. LOW level clamp: _import and bookOf keep the raw level (bounded by MAX_LEVELS); the rate is clamped only where used (_siteRate), and _nextLevel reverts MaxLevel at or past the top. Your hop scenario and a 3-hop case pass.

  4. INFO: revealStatus says Sealable only while current - entropyBlock < 256 (one block of margin).

  • 1.lowA vault whose distributor has no code can never be given a working distributor: initialize calls bookOf on the codeless predecessorcontracts/src/MiningSites.sol:204

                try MiningSites(current).bookOf(address(0)) {}

    Since fix #1, MiningSites.initialize is the only way a proxy is ever set up, and it treats any vault.distributor() other than itself as a predecessor that must answer bookOf(address(0)). If that address has no code, Solidity's high-level call reverts in the caller on the extcodesize check before the try/catch can catch anything (so not even BadPredecessor): the proxy's constructor reverts and ERC1967Proxy bubbles it as FailedCall().

    MineVault's constructor takes a predicted distributor address and cannot check it has code (the proxy is deployed next), so any launch where the MiningSites proxy did not land at the predicted address (an extra transaction from the deployer between the vault and the proxy broadcasts, or a manual launch skipping Deploy.s.sol's require) leaves the vault naming a codeless address.

    From then on every replacement proxy built from this implementation reverts in its constructor, acceptDistributor can never pass (it needs a contract whose predecessor() equals the codeless address, and only initialize sets predecessor), and MineToken's ownership is renounced with the vault as its only minter. This contradicts AUDIT.md section 4 guarantee 6 ('a distributor can always be replaced') and MineVault's recovery NatSpec.

    It is a recoverability gap behind an operator mistake, not an attack, and the way out post-launch exists (a new MiningSites implementation tolerant of a codeless predecessor, since initialize runs on the replacement's own implementation), hence Low.

    Fix: in initialize, when current.code.length == 0 record it as predecessor without calling bookOf (and make _import/bookOf skip a codeless predecessor), or make the predicted-address check a hard launch precondition in the docs. Reproduced by the attached test (fails with FailedCall() on 25121ea).

    State: MineVault(token, owner, never) where never has no code (a predicted proxy address that was never used), token.setMinter(vault), token.renounceOwnership().

    Owner: vault.proposeDistributor(P) with P its next CREATE address; deploy new ERC1967Proxy(impl, abi.encodeCall(MiningSites.initialize, (token, vault, owner, treasury, signer, 1, 1_500e18, 35_000e18))) at P.

    Expected: the proxy deploys, records never as predecessor with empty books, and acceptDistributor two days later makes it the distributor.

    Actual: the proxy constructor reverts with FailedCall() (the undecodable bookOf call to a codeless address), vault.distributor() stays never, acceptDistributor reverts NotAContract forever, and the vault can never mint.

  • 2.lowCrafterLevels.initialize and MinePayments.initialize keep the late path MiningSites lost: a proxy deployed uninitialised is anyone'scontracts/src/CrafterLevels.sol:55

        function initialize(IERC20 token_, IERC721 crafters_, address owner_, address treasury_) external initializer {

    Fix #1 made MiningSites.initialize revert InitializeOutsideConstructor unless address(this).code.length == 0, so nobody can take over a proxy someone else deployed.

    CrafterLevels.initialize (CrafterLevels.sol:55) and MinePayments.initialize (MinePayments.sol:57), on the same OwnedUUPS base and the same ERC1967Proxy deploy pattern, have only OpenZeppelin's initializer, so a proxy of either deployed in two steps (empty constructor data, initialize later) is initialised by whoever calls first.

    That caller becomes owner (setUpgradeCosts, setUpgradeBurnBps, setTreasury, upgradeToAndCall on CrafterLevels; addKind, setKindBurn, setTreasury, upgradeToAndCall on MinePayments) and treasury, so every DIO level bought or shop/ticket payment routed to that proxy pays its treasury share to the stranger, who can also swap the implementation.

    Reachable only through an operator two-step deploy (Deploy.s.sol initialises in the proxy's constructor), hence Low; merged from the two specialist findings since the root cause and the fix are one.

    Fix: the same one-line guard as MiningSites.sol:191 in both initializers, or move it into OwnedUUPS.__Owned_init so every proxy of the family has it.

    address levels = address(new ERC1967Proxy(address(new CrafterLevels()), "")); address payments = address(new ERC1967Proxy(address(new MinePayments()), "")); then from any account stranger: CrafterLevels(levels).initialize(token, IERC721(anyContract), stranger, stranger) and MinePayments(payments).initialize(token, stranger, stranger).

    Expected (the guarantee fix #1 gives MiningSites): both revert and the proxies can never be set up.

    Actual: both succeed; owner() == stranger and treasury() == stranger on each.

  • 3.lowFree mint: the 3-per-wallet limit is per msg.sender only, so one actor sweeps the supply through throwaway contractscontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:233

            if (mine > walletLimit) revert WalletLimit();

    New since 4de227d: the I'M DIO mint is free with walletLimit = 3. The only bound on how many DIOs one actor takes is mintedBy[msg.sender], and mint lets any contract be msg.sender (_mint with no receiver or caller check). A contract that creates fresh child contracts, each minting 3 in its constructor and transferring them out, is a new msg.sender every time, so the per-wallet limit bounds nothing per person.

    With price 0 the cost is gas only: 100 children (300 DIOs) cost about 22M gas in one transaction in the reproduction, under Arbitrum's per-transaction limit, so about twelve transactions take all 3,333 the moment setSaleOpen(true) lands. The documented rule (AUDIT.md section 10 and the panel: 'free, at most 3 per wallet') promises a spread the contract cannot keep: a paid mint priced the sybil out, a free one does not.

    This is a limitation of the chosen rule rather than a bypass of its letter, hence Low: the owner should decide whether a free launch needs a gate a fresh contract cannot pass (a per-wallet server signature like MiningSites' vouchers, an allowlist, or a price), or document that the limit is per address only.

    State: sale open, price 0, walletLimit 3 (the launch defaults).

    Input: attacker EOA calls Sweeper.sweep(crafters, 100); Sweeper does new Child(crafters, msg.sender) 100 times; each Child's constructor calls crafters.mint(3) then transferFrom to the attacker.

    Expected under the stated rule: one actor ends with at most 3.

    Actual: the attacker holds 300 after one transaction (about 21.9M gas), mintedBy[attacker] == 0, totalMinted == 300.

  • 4.infoTrust assumption: in practice the owner alone decides whether each 26-second window is sealed, and holds a choice among up to four seedscontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:310

        function moveEntropyOn() external onlyOwner returns (uint256 next) {

    Fix #2 is correctly implemented: seal() reverts EntropyExpired past 256 blocks, only the owner can moveEntropyOn, at most MAX_ENTROPY_MOVES = 3 times with an event each, Stuck afterwards, and the suite's fuzz test shows a seal anywhere in the window fixes the seed (verified: the Crafters suite passes, 50 tests).

    What remains is a trust assumption worth stating in the launch material rather than a code defect: 'anyone can seal within the window' holds for 256 L2 blocks, about 26 seconds, after an owner transaction nobody can anticipate on a sequenced chain with no public mempool, and the only sealer shipped is the owner's own panel.

    So in practice the owner decides whether a window is sealed and can choose among up to four public seeds (the first window plus three moves), picking the one that gives wallets it controls the most Legendaries (6%) and Rares (25%); the mint being free and the limit per msg.sender makes holding many DIOs cheap. The edge is modest (best of four) and every move is public; the design is accepted in AUDIT.md 3.7.

    No code change is required; holders wanting the 'anyone seals' guarantee must run a sealer watching SecretRevealed/EntropyBlockMoved, or the owner should pre-announce the reveal.

    Owner reveals at chain block n (entropyBlock = n+1).

    At n+2 the owner computes S0 = keccak256(abi.encode(secret, hash(n+1))) and its wallets' rarities under S0 and sends no seal.

    If nobody seals by n+257, revealStatus() == Expired and seal() reverts EntropyExpired; the owner calls moveEntropyOn() (entropyBlock = n+259), computes S1 at n+260, and so on for S2 and S3, sealing at the first seed it prefers.

    Expected per the contract NatSpec: 'the owner can't pick looks'.

    Actual: the owner chooses one of up to four public outcomes whenever no third party seals within the window.

    Mechanics confirmed in Foundry on 25121ea: after vm.roll(entropyBlock + 257) seal() reverts EntropyExpired, a stranger's moveEntropyOn reverts, the owner's succeeds (entropyBlock = +258, entropyMoves = 1); the suite's test_TheOwnerMovesOnAtMostThreeTimes shows the three moves then NoMovesLeft and Stuck.

  • 5.inforevealStatus's one-block Sealable margin is about 100 ms on Robinhood Chain, shorter than a transaction's sequencing latencycontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:333

            if (current - b < ENTROPY_WINDOW) return RevealStatus.Sealable;

    Fix #4 makes revealStatus() answer Sealable only while current - entropyBlock < ENTROPY_WINDOW, documented as 'only while a seal sent now can still land in the window (a block to spare)'. The margin is one L2 block, roughly 100 ms on Robinhood Chain's ~0.1 s blocks, less than the time a signed transaction takes to reach the sequencer and be included. A client that trusts Sealable near the end of the window sends a seal that lands past it and reverts EntropyExpired.

    In the panel this is worse than a retry: send() simulates against the latest block (still Sealable), broadcasts, and on a reverted receipt throws Error('seal failed') (web/chain.js:173), which revealAndSeal does not recognise as RevealTooSoon/EntropyExpired/AlreadyRevealed and so rethrows (web/chain.js:445) instead of moving on to the owner's move.

    Impact is bounded (a wasted seal and a confusing error at the very end of a window the panel normally seals in its first second), hence Info. A margin in the order of the chain's latency (20-30 blocks) or the panel comparing chainBlock() with entropyBlock() itself would make the status mean what its NatSpec says.

    State: entropyBlock = E, chain at E + 255, entropyMoves = 0. revealStatus() returns Sealable (2).

    A client sends seal() on seeing it; on Robinhood Chain the transaction is sequenced several L2 blocks later, at E + 258 say.

    Expected (per the NatSpec): the seal lands in the window.

    Actual: seal() at E + 258 reverts EntropyExpired (current - b = 258 > 256); the panel's send() throws 'seal failed' and revealAndSeal rethrows it.

    Confirmed in Foundry on 25121ea: reveal at block 1000 (E = 1001), vm.roll(E + 255) gives revealStatus() == Sealable, vm.roll(E + 256) gives Expired where seal() still succeeds, vm.roll(E + 257) makes seal() revert EntropyExpired.

    Fix 1, late initialisation (MiningSites.sol:191). The guard rejects any call once the proxy has code. Inside an ERC1967Proxy constructor the proxy's code length is zero, so only the deploying constructor can initialise. A proxy deployed without it stays dead for everyone. The vault's acceptance checks still read owner, vault and predecessor from the candidate, and only the vault owner can propose, so a stranger's self-made proxy with a fake vault can never become the distributor.

    Fix 2, free re-roll (MineWorldCrafters.sol:284 to 336). Seal accepts exactly offsets 1 through 256 past the entropy block, which matches both the EVM's blockhash range and ArbSys's arbBlockHash range of current minus 256 up to current minus 1. The owner's move accepts only offset 257 and beyond, so the two windows never overlap and no one can displace a seal that is still possible. Three moves then Stuck, as the tests assert. I also ran a scratch probe at the last window block after the third move: status reads Expired, a seal still lands, the move reverts NotExpired, and one block later it reads Stuck with no move left. That matches the NatSpec, so I did not file it.

    Fix 3, level clamp (MiningSites.sol:263, 288, 360; UpgradeCosts.sol:126). The stored level is bounded only by MAX_LEVELS and fits a uint8. The rate clamps to the top level at the one place it is used, so a carried-over level above the top earns the top rate, and the next-level computation reverts MaxLevel for any level at or past the top. The hop and three-hop tests cover exactly those paths, including addLevel restoring the level's own rate.

    Fix 4, revealStatus margin (MineWorldCrafters.sol:333). Sealable only while the offset is below 256, Expired at 256, consistent with the test at +255, +256 and +257.

    Also checked, no defect found. The claim quote rounds payment down and settles ceil on a capped claim. I checked that a capped settlement is always strictly below the earnings owed and that the remainder, reclaimed later, can never bring the total paid above the uncapped amount. The hook's 4% fee is rounded up on all four swap shapes and partial fills revert. The new wallet limit of 3 and the non-renounceable ownership behave as described.

    Limits of this review. Fork tests against Robinhood Chain were not run here. ArbSys semantics are from my knowledge of the Nitro precompile, not re-read from source. Slither was not run, per the task's tooling rules.

    • #1 late initialisation (Medium): MiningSites.initialize now reverts whenever the proxy already has code, for any caller, so the stranger-with-own-vault path is gone. The submitted FakeVaultHijackTest, the own-vault variant, and the constructor-only test are in the suite and pass. The vault's acceptance checks remain mistake-catchers only, which the NatSpec now says plainly.
    • #2 free re-roll (Low): seal() reverts past the window, moveEntropyOn() is owner-only, gated on an expired window, capped at three moves with an event each, and the fuzz test covers every offset 1 to 256. The seal and move conditions are exact complements, so no block is both sealable and movable.
    • #3 level clamp (Low): import and bookOf keep the raw level bounded by MAX_LEVELS, the rate is clamped only in _siteRate, and _nextLevel reverts at or above the top. Rates and costs stay the same length on every path, so no out-of-range index exists.
    • #4 revealStatus (Info): Sealable only below 256 blocks, Expired on the last block, Stuck only after the third move's window. Correct as specified.

    The full suite passes locally (243 tests, 10 fork tests skipped as expected).

    New findings, written to .imd-findings.json

    • Low, free mint sybil. The per-wallet limit is per msg.sender, and nothing stops a contract from minting. A scratch test has one actor hold 300 Crafters after a single transaction through 100 throwaway child contracts, for about 18.6M gas, so twelve transactions take the whole collection the moment the sale opens. The test fails on the current code and the proof is attached. This is a limitation of the chosen rule, not a bypass of its letter, so it is reported for the owner to weigh.
    • Info, Sealable margin. The one-block margin from fix #4 is about 100 ms on Robinhood Chain, which I measured at roughly ten blocks a second, so a seal sent on seeing Sealable near the end of the window can still land past it. The panel then throws a generic failure rather than retrying. Bounded impact.

    Nothing else in the changed code gave a reproducible defect. The owner's limited re-roll lever and the deploy-time ownership handover remain documented trust assumptions rather than findings.

    • lowFree mint: the 3-per-wallet launch limit is per msg.sender only, so one actor sweeps the supply through throwaway contractscontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:233

      New since 4de227d: the I'M DIO mint is free and walletLimit = 3. The only thing that bounds how many Crafters one actor takes is mintedBy[msg.sender], and mint lets any contract be msg.sender (_mint, no receiver check, no caller check). A contract that creates fresh child contracts, each of which mints 3 in its constructor and hands them over, is a new msg.sender every time, so the per-wallet limit bounds nothing per person.

      With the price at 0 the cost is gas only: 100 children (300 Crafters) cost about 18.6M gas in one transaction, under Arbitrum's 32M per-transaction limit, so twelve transactions take all 3,333 the moment setSaleOpen(true) lands, before any player's panel can. The documented economics (AUDIT.md section 10: 'free, at most 3 per wallet'; the panel's 'at most 3 per wallet') promise a spread the contract cannot keep: a paid mint priced the sybil out, a free one does not.

      This is a limitation of the chosen rule rather than a bypass of its letter, so it is reported low: the owner should know the limit gives no distribution guarantee and decide whether a free launch needs a gate a fresh contract cannot pass (a per-wallet server signature like MiningSites' vouchers, an allowlist, or a price).

      Actual: attacker holds 300 after one transaction (18.6M gas), mintedBy[attacker] == 0, totalMinted == 300; repeating 12 times mints out.

      The proof test asserts balanceOf(attacker) <= 3 and fails on 25121ea with 300 > 3.

    • inforevealStatus's one-block Sealable margin is about 100 ms on Robinhood Chain, shorter than a transaction's sequencing latencycontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:333

      Fix #4 makes revealStatus() answer Sealable only while current - entropyBlock < ENTROPY_WINDOW, documented as 'only while a seal sent now can still land in the window (a block to spare)'.

      The margin is measured in L2 blocks, but the latency it must cover is measured in time: Robinhood Chain produced 32 L2 blocks in 3 s when read during this review (blocks 88881150 to 88881212 across 6 s), about 10 blocks a second, so one block of margin is roughly 100 ms, less than the time a signed transaction takes to reach the sequencer and be included. A client that trusts Sealable near the end of the window sends a seal that lands past it and reverts EntropyExpired.

      In the panel this is worse than a retry: send() simulates against the latest block (which still says Sealable), broadcasts, and on a reverted receipt throws Error('seal failed') (web/chain.js:173), which revealAndSeal does not recognise as RevealTooSoon/EntropyExpired/AlreadyRevealed and so rethrows (web/chain.js:445) instead of looping on to the owner's move.

      Impact is bounded (a wasted seal transaction and a confusing error at the very end of a window the panel normally seals in its first second), which is why this is informational. A margin in the order of the chain's latency (say 20-30 blocks, 2-3 s) or the panel comparing chainBlock() with entropyBlock() itself would make the status mean what its NatSpec says.

      State: entropyBlock = E, chain at E + 255, entropyMoves = 0. revealStatus() returns Sealable (2).

      A client sends seal() on seeing it; on Robinhood Chain the transaction is sequenced about 3-10 L2 blocks later, at E + 258 say.

      Expected (per the NatSpec): the seal lands in the window.

      Actual: seal() at E + 258 reverts EntropyExpired (current - b = 258 > 256); the panel's send() throws 'seal failed' and revealAndSeal rethrows it.

      In a Foundry test: reveal at block B (E = B + 1), vm.roll(E + 255), assert revealStatus() == Sealable, vm.roll(E + 258), seal() reverts EntropyExpired.

  4. Audit flowAgent #1212found nothing

    The review is complete. The findings file holds an empty list, and the working tree is clean apart from it.

    Outcome: no defect substantiated. All four fixes from the second re-check hold at commit 25121ea, and the new mint and ownership changes introduce nothing I could break. The full suite ran locally with 243 tests passing and the 10 fork tests skipped, as stated.

    What I verified, fix by fix:

    • Fix 1, late initialisation. The guard at contracts/src/MiningSites.sol:191 reverts whenever the proxy already has code, so only the ERC1967Proxy constructor path can run it. The auditor's FakeVaultHijackTest and the own-vault variant are in the suite and pass. I also confirmed that a stranger delegatecalling the implementation from their own contract's constructor passes the guard but only writes their own storage. The proposed proxy stays unowned and the vault refuses it.
    • Fix 2, free re-roll. After the window seal reverts with EntropyExpired. Only the owner can move the entropy block on, only after an unsealed window, at most three times, each with an event. The fuzz test covers every offset in the window. I added a probe that seals at exactly 256 blocks after three moves and one that confirms Stuck at 257. Both passed. The mock's boundary matches Nitro's ArbSys precompile, which rejects a block only when it is at or past the current one or more than 256 behind.
    • Fix 3, level clamp. Import and the book view bound the level only by the 20-level maximum. The rate is clamped only where used, so a level above the top earns the top rate, and the next-level helper reverts MaxLevel at or past the top. The hop and three-hop tests pass.
    • Fix 4, status margin. Sealable only while fewer than 256 blocks have passed, Expired on the last block where a seal still lands, and the panel acts on that.

    Also checked: free mint with the 3-per-wallet default, renounce reverting with a zero transfer leaving the owner in place, the deploy script's ownership warning, the panel's reveal-then-seal retry loop, and dev.sh's seal loop. The MineVault change is documentation only.

    Residual trust assumptions, already documented in AUDIT.md, not findings: the owner's up-to-three public re-rolls when nobody seals within 26 seconds, the sequencer's influence on L2 block hashes, and a free mint being Sybil-able across wallets.

    Limits of this review: the fork tests could not run here, and Anvil cannot emulate the L2 block hash read, so the exact window boundary on Robinhood Chain rests on the Nitro source matching the mock rather than on an on-chain run.

  5. Audit permissionsAgent #766found 3 low, 1 info

    The review is complete. The findings file at the repository root holds four entries, and no source file was changed.

    All four fixes from the second re-check hold. I traced each against the code at commit 25121ea and the suite, which passes with 243 tests and the 10 fork tests skipped without a fork.

    • Fix 1, late initialisation. The constructor-only check in MiningSites.initialize is correct. A proxy has no code during its own constructor, no re-entry into it is possible since calls to it execute nothing, and the OpenZeppelin 5.4 initializer cannot be re-entered after it. Both hijack tests and the own-vault variant are in the suite and pass.
    • Fix 2, free re-roll. The seal window and the owner's move window are disjoint with no overlap at the boundary. The mock ArbSys range matches the real Nitro precompile, so a seal at exactly 256 blocks works on chain too. The fuzz test covers every block of the window and every caller.
    • Fix 3, level clamp. Import and bookOf are symmetric. The rate is clamped only at use, the next-level check reverts at or past the top, and the carried level survives one and three hops.
    • Fix 4, revealStatus. Sealable ends one block early as described, and the panel acts on it.

    What I found, all outside the four fixes but in the changed area.

    • Low, MiningSites.sol line 204. A vault whose distributor of the moment has no code can never be replaced. The replacement's initialize calls bookOf on it and reverts on the empty return, outside the try/catch. The precondition is a launch where the proxy missed the predicted address. After that the vault, the token's only minter, can never mint its 10.5 million. This contradicts the AUDIT's guarantee that a distributor can always be replaced. The proof test fails on this commit.
    • Low, CrafterLevels.sol line 55 and MinePayments.sol line 57. Both initializers lack the constructor-only guard that MiningSites gained. A proxy deployed with empty constructor data is anyone's to own. The deploy script avoids it, so it needs an operator two-step deploy. The same proof file shows a stranger becoming owner and treasury of both.
    • Info, MineWorldCrafters.sol line 310. A trust assumption to state plainly. On a sequenced chain the 26-second seal window after an unannounced owner transaction means the owner alone decides whether a window is sealed, and holds a choice among up to four seeds while also minting free across wallets. The design was accepted. No code change is proposed, only clearer launch material.

    The two Low findings carry one shared Foundry proof under test/scratch, which fails on the current code for the stated reasons.

    • lowA vault whose distributor of the moment has no code can never be given a working distributor: initialize insists on current.bookOfcontracts/src/MiningSites.sol:204

      MiningSites.initialize (the only way a proxy is ever set up since fix #1) treats any vault.distributor() other than itself as a predecessor and requires it to answer bookOf(address(0)); if current has no code the high-level call's return-data decode reverts in the caller (not caught by the try/catch, so not even BadPredecessor: the proxy deploy fails with ERC1967's FailedCall).

      MineVault's constructor takes a predicted distributor address with no code check (it cannot have one: the proxy is deployed next), so a launch in which the MiningSites proxy did not land at the predicted address (any extra transaction from the deployer between the vault and the proxy, or a manual launch that skipped Deploy.s.sol's require(g.sites == predicted)) leaves the vault naming a codeless address.

      From then on every replacement proxy reverts in its constructor, acceptDistributor can never pass (it needs a contract whose predecessor() equals the codeless address, and only initialize sets predecessor), and MineToken's ownership has been renounced with the vault as its only minter, so the vault's whole TOTAL_LIMIT (10,500,000 $MINE) can never be minted.

      This contradicts AUDIT.md section 4 guarantee 6 ("a distributor can always be replaced") and the recovery story in MineVault's NatSpec. It is a recoverability gap behind an operator mistake, not an attack, hence Low.

      Fix (before launch; MineVault is immutable): in initialize, when current.code.length == 0 record it as predecessor without calling bookOf and make _import/bookOf skip a codeless predecessor; or have Deploy.s.sol/launch docs make the predicted-address check a hard precondition and MineVault accept a predecessor() of 0 when distributor.code.length == 0.

      State: MineVault(token, owner, never) where never is an address that never receives code (a predicted proxy address that was not used), token.setMinter(vault), token.renounceOwnership().

      Owner: vault.proposeDistributor(P) with P its next CREATE address; deploy new ERC1967Proxy(impl, abi.encodeCall(MiningSites.initialize, (token, vault, owner, treasury, signer, 1, 1_500e18, 35_000e18))) at P.

      Expected: the proxy deploys, records never as predecessor (empty books) and acceptDistributor two days later makes it the distributor.

      Actual: the proxy's constructor reverts (FailedCall, from the undecodable bookOf return of a codeless address), vault.distributor() stays never, acceptDistributor reverts NotAContract forever, and the vault can never mint. test_AVaultWithACodelessDistributorCanStillBeReplaced in the proof fails on 25121ea with FailedCall().

    • lowCrafterLevels.initialize keeps the late path MiningSites lost: a proxy deployed without it in its constructor is anyone'scontracts/src/CrafterLevels.sol:55

      Inconsistent guard (access-control / asymmetry): fix #1 made MiningSites.initialize revert InitializeOutsideConstructor unless address(this).code.length == 0, with the stated rationale that nobody must be able to make a proxy someone else deployed theirs.

      CrafterLevels.initialize, on the same OwnedUUPS base with the same deploy pattern (an ERC1967Proxy whose constructor data is the initialize call), has only OpenZeppelin's initializer, so a CrafterLevels proxy deployed in two steps (empty constructor data, initialize later) is initialised by whoever calls first: that caller becomes owner (setUpgradeCosts, setUpgradeBurnBps, setTreasury, upgradeToAndCall) and treasury, so every level a player then buys through that proxy pays 25% of its cost to the stranger and the stranger can swap the implementation at will.

      The anchor that makes it reachable is MineWorldCrafters.setAttributesExtension(levels) and the web config pointing players at the levels address; Deploy.s.sol deploys the proxy initialised in one transaction, so it takes an operator two-step deploy, hence Low.

      Fix: the same one-line guard as MiningSites.sol:191 (if (address(this).code.length != 0) revert InitializeOutsideConstructor();) in CrafterLevels.initialize (and MinePayments.initialize, reported separately), or move it into OwnedUUPS.__Owned_init so every proxy of the family has it.

      address levels = address(new ERC1967Proxy(address(new CrafterLevels()), "")); then, from any account stranger: CrafterLevels(levels).initialize(token, IERC721(anyContract), stranger, stranger).

      Expected (the guarantee fix #1 gives MiningSites): revert, the proxy can never be set up.

      Actual: succeeds; CrafterLevels(levels).owner() == stranger and treasury() == stranger. test_StrangerCannotInitialiseLateLevelsOrPaymentsProxies in the proof file fails on 25121ea.

    • lowMinePayments.initialize keeps the late path MiningSites lost: a proxy deployed without it in its constructor is anyone'scontracts/src/MinePayments.sol:57

      Same inconsistent guard as the CrafterLevels finding: MinePayments.initialize has only OpenZeppelin's initializer, so a MinePayments proxy deployed with empty constructor data is initialised by whoever calls first, who becomes owner (addKind/setKind burn shares, setTreasury, upgradeToAndCall) and treasury of every shop and ticket payment the game routes there. Reachable only through an operator two-step deploy (Deploy.s.sol initialises in the proxy's constructor), hence Low.

      Fix: the MiningSites.sol:191 guard in MinePayments.initialize, or in OwnedUUPS.__Owned_init for the whole family.

      address payments = address(new ERC1967Proxy(address(new MinePayments()), "")); then from stranger: MinePayments(payments).initialize(token, stranger, stranger).

      Expected: revert (as MiningSites.initialize does since fix #1).

      Actual: succeeds; owner() == stranger, treasury() == stranger.

    • infoTrust assumption: on Robinhood Chain the owner's three re-rolls are effectively at its sole discretion, and it mints free toocontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:310

      Fix #2 is correctly implemented (seal() reverts EntropyExpired past 256 blocks, only the owner moves on, at most 3 times, Stuck afterwards; the fuzz test covers every block of the window).

      What remains is a three-way trust gap (access x economics x asymmetry) worth stating as a trust assumption rather than leaving to the NatSpec's 'one lever' sentence: the guarantee that 'anyone can seal within the window' holds for 256 L2 blocks, about 26 seconds, after an owner transaction nobody can anticipate on a sequenced chain with no public mempool, and the only seal bot shipped is the owner's own panel.

      So in practice the owner alone decides whether each window is sealed, and holds a choice among up to four seeds (the first window plus three moves). Since the mint is free and the per-wallet limit counts msg.sender only, the owner (or anyone) can hold many DIOs across wallets, and the owner picks the seed that gives its holdings the most Legendaries (6%) and Rares (25%).

      The edge is modest (best of four draws) and every move is public on chain, and the design was accepted in AUDIT.md 3.7; no code change is required, but the launch material should say that holders wanting the 'anyone seals' guarantee must run a sealer watching SecretRevealed/EntropyBlockMoved, or the owner should pre-announce the reveal block.

      Owner reveals at L2 block n (entropyBlock = n+1).

      At n+2 the owner computes S0 = keccak256(abi.encode(secret, arbBlockHash(n+1))) and the rarities of its wallets' tokens under S0; it sends no seal.

      If no third party seals by n+257, revealStatus() == Expired and seal() reverts EntropyExpired; owner calls moveEntropyOn() (entropyBlock = n+259), computes S1 at n+260, and so on for S2, S3; it seals at the first seed it prefers (the panel's 'Pick a new block and lock it in' does exactly move-then-seal).

      Expected per the contract NatSpec: 'the owner can't pick looks'.

      Actual: the owner chooses one of up to four public outcomes whenever no stranger seals within 26 seconds. test_TheOwnerMovesOnAtMostThreeTimes shows the mechanics; the information edge is the state between n+2 and n+257.

  6. Audit judgeAgent #1568found 3 low, 2 info

    Review complete. The findings file at .imd-findings.json holds 5 findings: 3 low (each with a Foundry proof that fails on 25121ea) and 2 info. The repository tree is otherwise untouched.

    All four fixes verified against the code.

    • Fix 1 (late initialisation): MiningSites.initialize reverts InitializeOutsideConstructor for a stranger and for the owner on a proxy deployed without it, and the implementation is locked. Confirmed by my own test.
    • Fix 2 (free re-roll): seal() reverts EntropyExpired past 256 blocks, only the owner moves on, at most 3 times, then Stuck. The Crafters suite passed, 50 tests including the fuzz test and the three-moves test. 7 fork tests skipped.
    • Fix 3 (level clamp): a level 6 bought on a predecessor survives a replacement with 5 levels, pays the top rate, refuses upgradeSite with MaxLevel, and upgrades to 7 once levels are added. Confirmed by my own test.
    • Fix 4 (Sealable margin): Sealable at +255, Expired at +256 where a seal still lands, EntropyExpired at +257. Confirmed by my own test.

    Findings kept, all reproduced in Foundry:

    1. Low, MiningSites.sol:204. A vault whose distributor address has no code can never get a working distributor: initialize calls bookOf on the codeless predecessor and the proxy constructor reverts with FailedCall. Operator-mistake precondition, recoverable only by a new tolerant implementation. Proof attached.
    2. Low, CrafterLevels.sol:55 (merged with MinePayments.sol:57). Both initialisers keep the late path MiningSites lost, so a two-step deployed proxy is owned by whoever calls first. Same root cause and fix, so the two specialist findings are one. Proof attached.
    3. Low, MineWorldCrafters.sol:233. The free mint's 3-per-wallet limit is per msg.sender; one transaction through 100 throwaway contracts yields 300 DIOs. Proof attached.
    4. Info, MineWorldCrafters.sol:310. Trust assumption: on a sequenced chain with only the owner's panel sealing, the owner effectively chooses among up to four seeds. Mechanics confirmed, design accepted in AUDIT.md 3.7.
    5. Info, MineWorldCrafters.sol:333. The one-block Sealable margin is about 100 ms on Robinhood Chain, and the panel rethrows a late seal as a generic "seal failed". Confirmed against web/chain.js.

    Test limitation to note. This machine's cgroup caps memory at 1.5 GB and the project's via-IR compile of the full suite is killed by solc, so I could not run forge test as submitted. I compiled through a sandbox config outside the repository with a hook-free deployer stub and a shorter Yul optimizer sequence, one test file at a time. The Crafters suite and all proofs ran that way. The MiningSites test file alone still exceeded the limit, so fixes 1 and 3 were verified with targeted tests rather than the suite's own, and the 243-test count was not reproduced here.

    • lowA vault whose distributor has no code can never be given a working distributor: initialize calls bookOf on the codeless predecessorcontracts/src/MiningSites.sol:204

      Ran in Foundry on 25121ea: test_AVaultWithACodelessDistributorCanStillBeReplaced fails with FailedCall().

    • lowCrafterLevels.initialize and MinePayments.initialize keep the late path MiningSites lost: a proxy deployed uninitialised is anyone'scontracts/src/CrafterLevels.sol:55

    • lowFree mint: the 3-per-wallet limit is per msg.sender only, so one actor sweeps the supply through throwaway contractscontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:233

      Actual: the attacker holds 300 after one transaction (about 21.9M gas), mintedBy[attacker] == 0, totalMinted == 300.

    • infoTrust assumption: in practice the owner alone decides whether each 26-second window is sealed, and holds a choice among up to four seedscontracts/src/MineWorldCrafters.sol:310

      State: entropyBlock = E, chain at E + 255, entropyMoves = 0. revealStatus() returns Sealable (2).

      Confirmed in Foundry on 25121ea: reveal at block 1000 (E = 1001), vm.roll(E + 255) gives revealStatus() == Sealable, vm.roll(E + 256) gives Expired where seal() still succeeds, vm.roll(E + 257) makes seal() revert EntropyExpired.
