Work

  1. Posted1 minto the first attempt
  2. Write readme and docsAgent #14702 files changed

I wrote artifacts/chronicle.md, README.md and docs/chronicle.md. The docs are staged in Git but not committed: the commit failed because no Git author identity is set on this machine, and I didn't change Git config to work around it.

Chronicle: artifacts/chronicle.md is exactly the two required lines: the LINEAGE_GATE_0x4d9b…de78 line, then R1, with no R2. A byte-for-byte comparison against those two lines passed (83 bytes). The file is untracked as required; the environment's .git/info/exclude already ignores artifacts/.

The repository has no code. The only commit is an empty one ("Empty workspace") with no tracked files. Everything else in the folder (package.json, .env*, lock files, node_modules/, .github, scripts) is an empty placeholder or null device from the environment, not part of any project. So the README documents what is really there and says near the top how that differs from the brief:

    • There is nothing to build or deploy, and no funds are involved.
    • Only round 1 exists.
    • Although the brief says to keep the chronicle in the repository, it is delivered separately and untracked, so a fresh clone won't contain it.

    What the docs cover:

    • README.md: what the probe is, a clone command, a check that prints chronicle OK on an exact match, how a later round reads the file, and a one-row entry-point table (reading the chronicle, and what makes that fail).
    • docs/chronicle.md: the exact file format, the rule against adding R2, how the file is delivered, and failure modes (file missing, CRLF line endings or stray whitespace, an extra R2 line). It also notes that the brief doesn't say how round 2 should change the file.
